What is justice, anyway? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm playing a LN Cleric 6/Hospitaler 4 - serving St. Cuthbert in a world ravaged by a decades old war. Our "platoon" (gaming group) was dispatched back home from the front to investigate reports of the locals claiming that there are undead beseiging the town, including the bodies of the fallen in the war, including some of our friends and family.

Turns out, all that's true, and we've found the source of the problem - a very powerful necro-dude who's used the backdrop of the war to further his nefarious arts.

Now, given who I'm worshiping, and my LN alignment, what are some fitting punishments for this bad guy? i mean, sure, he's gonna die, that much is clear. The question is how.

Any suggestions for something creative and darkly ironic? As we plan out our attack, what kind of retribution and justice would do St. Cuthbert proud?

Torture is not justice, just to throw that out there. Just kill the guy, don't make it too complicated. Most likely his wealth should be used to repair the damage he has done with a portion going to your squad for their trouble.

Die and allow his minions to ressurect him? I think NOT!

May I suggest that you trap his soul and have it locked away for good?

Kill him and animate dead and have him spring any traps you bypassed on the way in.

Command undead; make his own undead devour him.

Beat him unconscious and planeshift him to the lower planes.

Or just kill him, if the DM wants you to meet him again; you will. If not, you won't.
