What to choose [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-30-05, 12:57 PM I could use a litte help.

My old character died and now I have rolled 2 new ones, my stats are as showen to choose from:

#1 #2
Str 15 13
Dex 6 13
Con 15 14
Int 9 10
Wis 14 11
Cha 8 10

Extra 17 16

Now I can swich any stat with the extra stat down below and it is a 9 lvl character so I can add +1 at 4 and 8 lvl aswell.

I am looking for ideas for what characters I can make for the party.
The party already have a Barbarian, Cleric, Scorcerer, Monk and a Ranger and I am not trying to be 1 of those. Our DM do allow Prestiges Classes but there are a few there is overpowered.

I am thinking about a Elven Archer with #1

Str 15
Dex 20 (17(extra) + 2 elf and +1 for lvl 4)
Con 13 (15-2 elf)
Int 9
Wis 14
Cha 8
1+ lvl 8 is str or con.

or a Elven Wizard with #2
Str 13
Dex 13
Con 15
Int 16 (extra)
Wis 14
Cha 8
and there is still 1+ a 4 lvl and 8

But there is nothing final so let me hear a suggestion.

08-30-05, 04:38 PM hmm...personally id try and roll again, but if you were set on using them, id take the second set of rolls.

Perhaps your party could do with a good stealth character (i know you have a ranger and a monk, but they are more of a stealth/combat mix) try going an elven rogue/spellthief/ninja/scout.

With all those characters you still get to use a bow, and your getting some sort of sneak attack damage.

09-01-05, 12:44 AM I would go with a multiclass Rogue/Wizard Do the Rogue as your 1st level to get the better hit points and skills. For stats, I recommend the first set and shifting them around a little.

Str 15
Dex 17
Int 15
Wis 9
Con 14
Cha 8
(+/- racial modifiers, +1 for level 4, +1 for level 8) Most likely, you should add the level bonuses to your Int score for a total of 17.

I'd also suggest a weasel, a rat or a raven as a familiar. Ravens are useful in communitcating, but the other two help with saving throws.
