| Furious5k10-09-06, 07:56 AM | I started a new DnD Campaign and I rolled quite badly. After the Gray Elf racial adjustments I ended up with a rogue. Str: 9 Dex: 18 Con: 8 Int: 18 Wis: 7 Cha: 11 Straight off the bat we got some godly items each, that the GM let slip, are going to grow with us. Mine are a pair of daggers "Rage and Fury". As a level 1 character, they so far give me +5 initiative. Anyway, we have a human fighter with pretty damn great stats and light, black longsword that deals double damage on any natural 20 (even without critical confirmation). So he is pretty much the brawn of the party. We also have a sorcerer who rolled quite bad like me, but did manage to get 17 in his charisma. He got an amulet, we don't know what it does so far. I am looking for suggestions for what classes or prestige classes I could take, feats and such. I want to keep a good amount of skills per level and be able to quickly hide and backstab, mostly using my daggers and maybe some bow in surprise rounds. Generally, the sneaky type, although any others suggestions are welcome too! The books we so far use are PHB, PHB II, DMG, MM I, Complete warrior, Complete Adventurer. Please help me know where I should be headed, I've never played a high power campaign before, or a high level one (yes, I'm lvl 1 now, but we're probably get to lvl 20 by the end or even over that). Thanks! :D |

As for skills, you should go for the standard rogue stuff, your charisma sucks, don't try to be the face of the group. Get Hide, Move silently, Open Lock, Search, Disable device for starters, and some disguise to qualify for sin. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicFeats.htm#deadlyPrecision That's a pretty nice feat for a rogue to have, it allows you to reroll any 1s on sneak attacks. Another one is Telling Blow from PHBII, whenever you critical, you automatically deal sneak attack or skirmish damage, (Although it's not multiplied) That means you should get keen on them daggers. And once you get to Assassin, you should pick up wraithstrike and swift invisibility. Swift invisibility lets you stab them a bunch, then disappear, then next round stab them again, and disappear, rinse and repeat til you run out of them for the day. Poke around Complete Adventurer, I think there are some good sin spells in there. My 2 cents |

Should you manage to get a bonus to wisdom, you might try a ninja. Otherwise, with your insane initiative, scout might be a worthwhile choice, at least for a level or two. Have fun and good luck with your character! |
