Sorry if this is the wrong board to ask this on.

I'm DMing a campaign and without really realizing I've created a world very similar to the world of Berserk. I think it'd be pretty cool to see (and possible fight against or beside) Guts. I was just wondering what class progression he'd take. I'd assume barbarian/berserker but where can I find information on grafting a mechanical arm onto a character.

Well maybe you could do a modified Half Iron Golem (MM2 pg 209) character for the mechanical arm or something. be a fighter/barbarian for class. That's as close as I can think of. Not aware of any other artifical grafts.

depends on what point of guts career you want to make him, the story continues after the anime. He gets this armor that sends him berserk and heals him... perhaps a modded version of the demon armor would work.

And as far as his sword goes, The Dragon Slayer... its legendary... id probably say something like a +5 Vorpal Full Blade or something...

As for the mech hand he has... the half golem might do... or just say that one of his hands is bionic or something, and dont change the mechanics of it.

He has the brand though, so demons are constantly drawn to him (could be a good plot device to help him) and he has some pretty interesting allies.

Id agree with the fighter/Barbarian class progression too.

Good luck with it, i loved the anime and the manga, should be a good game.

I am VERY interested in what the output will be. Browsing the web I see that almost everybody afrees on claymore/greatsword specialization, with Monkey Grip feat.

Gatsu is also a bit of a peculiar character, and quoting Zodd himself (when thei duel at the sword's cemetery where Godor worked and lived) he is at the peak of physical and technical prowess for a human, so I`d use all 20 levels available (by the time he gets the berserk armour).

Plus, the mark of sacrifice on him must have had some weird "narrative", so to speak, effect. It funnels his rage and lust for revenge for the hand of god in a tremendous amount of strength, vitality (he must have 12 liters of blood in his body) and fury.

I`d be flexible with the rules then. Up until the "Eclipse" n1, I`d stick to the manual, but by then (he must have been at least lvl 13 FULL warrior) I`d just ignore some restrictions, feat-wise.

Moreover, we (or at least I) don't know fully well WHO Gatsu is. Born from a dead woman, closest to death and best at avoiding her grim scythe, he has some "chosen one" talents that belong to the "Skywalker Bloodline" type.

His ability since he was a baby to use proportionally gigantic swords, till the very dragonslayer...I don't know, maybe strength wise, and only for weapon wielding purposes, I`d give him a stat bonus, such as in the RAGE feat for the star wars wookies.
