Of all the characters that you've made. Which three made the lasting impression on you?

Allister Ruecian aka Rook
Human, CG Swordsage 8th
-His devil-may care attitude and large bastard sword made him a foe to be feared. Rook worked for the city guard, but his extremrly un-lawful ways got him fired. Thern he witnessed the murder of a noble by a guild of assasains and fled the city. Hunted by the guild and mercenaries, he met up with an adventuring group and decided to bring justice to the assasain guild and un cover the truth of scandals and tyranny in the city.

Elc Arcanis
Human, NG Bard 6th / Fighter 6th
-A lowly entertainer turned adventurer. Elc was thrown into the feist when a local tavernb brawl broke out and his friend was murdered (Fellow PC) by an Anti-Paladin. He tried to avenge his friend but was defeated and left to die. But upon recue from a stranger (Another PC) he decided to find a way to bring his friend back, and defeat the dark knight. He sought out for a legendary sword called the Caladbolg, and fought through an enchant forest to retrieve it, outsmarted a Green Dragon, and even spent time with sprites learning the secrets of the forests. When he met with the dark knight he avenged his friend, only to find that the mysterious stranger who saved him was the Dark knight all along...

Ilaro Firiat
-Sylvan Elf, NE Fighter 1st/ Hexblade 5th
-Ilaro worked for a guild called "The One and Five" and served as one of the archmages bodyguards until, he was betrayed and destroyed by evil magic, when he was brought back, he had been tainted by evil, and aquired strange cursing powers. He used these powers to take down the guild, but only managed to destroy two of the six archmages, but was cut a sunder by a Paladin seeding out the evil in the city...

SOrry I picked four and it was a tough choice just too weed these one's down

Bearclaw (Faerun)
Ghostwise Halfling CN Ranger 6/Halfling Outrider 2
-Bearclaw and his riding wolf companion Nightrunner ran with their tribe through the wilderness of the chondalwood. Bearclaw was known for his pratical jokes which were rather quite darker then your average Strongheart Halfling. After stealing all the babies from an encroaching goblin tribe caused the goblins to attack the halflings Bearclaw was cast out, not to return until he learned the error of his mischievous ways.

(Stole names from somewhere I'm sure some one will figure out)

Ilthayan Vel'vos (Faerun)
Drow Rogue 10/Divine Seek of Elistraee (sp?)
Ilthayan barely remembered the dark depths of the underdark when he was young his father and the other males of the family, who had begun to whorship Vhaerugn (sp?), assassinate the females of the house and fled to the surface and the great forest in the dalelands. Ilthayan was used as a scout and his father had high hopes for his son to raise the houses status among the other surface drow. Ilthayan was a first contact specialist using his skilled tongue to broker deals with the other "monsters" of the forest. Ilthayan fell in love with a female drow he found dancing naked under the moonlight and began an affair with her, learning what it meant to love. Ilthayan's father found and killed Ilthayan;s lover hoping to drive him back to his family but ultimately Ilthayan ran unsure what to make of himself but swearing never to become his father. (this is where he started adventuring as a level 3 rogue)

Ekmo Fatu (Ebberon)
Halfling Ranger 5/Animal Lord (ape) 3
Ekmo was born on an island of long forgotten halflings who made an escape from Khorvaire when the humans arrived. They thrived on their island home for awhile until they realized one of the natural coves was on the migratory path of a group of sirens. They developed a way to speak without sound over time to avoid the sired predators (Basically I converted Ghostwise halflings over to ebberon as sirensong halflings). Ekmo was himself a very curious halfling and when a vessel took shelter from the storm at the island he went to investigate while the other hid. Although his was a guttural dialect of halfling and he had a tendency not to speak with words he eventually made contact and when the ship left he went with them to explore the world. At one particular port Ekmo found a small spider monkey that was for sale by a disgusting fat man. Ekmo felt a special connection to this animal and used some of the gems he had been collecting to buy it for himself. Ekmo and his monkey companion, Toma, spend their days swinging through the rigging of the ship and enjoying the sea breeze. (This is where EKmo began adventuring as a level 5 Ranger)

The culture of Ekmo's halflings was based around Samoans and the name is stolem from somewhere I'm sure some one will place.

Nasseem Hussam Saariyah ibn Ra'ed (Faerun)
Air Genasi Swashbuckler 3/Fighter 2/Dervish 5/Tempest 3
Background Is Here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=852942)
Roivas

06-12-07, 05:07 AM
I think these three represent my most interesting characters.

Roberto Roivas [Human] N Rogue 2/Fighter 15
Born to a sailor Roivas had an inner ear problem since birth that would cause him to become ill on any kind of boat and he had little in the way of education to rise above the level of street punk. Until he joined a group of thieves as their strongarm as they did whatever they pleased to make themselves rich legendary heroes. Over the course of his adventurers Roivas became known as one of the lord's most notorious bragguards and could spins tales to know end of his own bravery. He eventually retired after defeating an avatar of Hextor using a legendary blade he retieved from a castle floating in the clouds.
One of my first cahracters and possibly still my favorite.

Mithos Yggdrassil [Human, Saint] LG Paladin 16/Monk 2
Long ago when Mithos was a child he was playing in the woods with his sister when they witnessed a Solar Angel meditating over a section of forest. The sight of the angelic being inspired Mithos and gave his sister inhuman powers of good. After telling his parents of the experiance they chose to ask the local cleric of Heironious about what, if anything, it could mean. The cleric saw power in the two young children and began to train Mithos in the knightly ways, his sister became a holy singer with powers to heal and blam poeple's souls.
His ultimate quest was to try and stop the ressurection of the evil dragon lord Sekna, one of the three overdragons in the world. Mithos ultimately failed in this task but managed to defeat Sekna before the world could be destoyed by her evil. He then after several years of adventurering settled down to inhereit the kingdom of Empiria he had spent most of his life fighting to protect.
Mithos was a challenge to play as one of his vows was to never kill and save any life from death he could, reguardless of alignment.

Shabranigdo Lolthvertahl aka 'Alistor' Draeglolth CE Assassin 10
Bron of the union of a drow priestess and a Glabrezu of noteworthly power Shabranigdo was born into a life of decadence where he was encouraged to become a bloodthirsty monster whose evil whims became example to others of his house. This life was cut short by a beholder attack upon the city which Shabranigdo barely managed to survive along with his older sister Moroshina. Moroshina chose to flee to the surface since her powers as a priestess of lolth and young Shabranigdo weren't enough to protect them in the underdark. Left with little choice Moroshina became a protitute owned by a local lizardfolk pimp called Smiles. Eventually she was murdered by Smiles for attempting to kill an elf client who Smiles personally knew.
But Shabranigdo again escaped to the city ofThe city of Mephiskapholies. A massive city near a fetid swamp riddled with crime. It was there he met a wizard of legend named Mazakou Oni someone who myths spoke of as the man whoi would destroy the world. Shabranigdo learned later that the wizard's death would cause the end of the world, possibly meaning Oni's personal world. He then helped Oni rise to power becomming his most trusted liutenant until they had completely dominated the world. Shabranigdo then betrayed his master at the worst possible moment and sacrificied him to open a perminant free standing portal to the Abyss where Empiria once stood.
Shabranigdo was particularly fun to play because he had only evil in his heart. Seeking to revel in evil and bring about the downfall of others who were too pure for his tastes. He was a loathsome monster with the end of the world and Lolth's murder of reality as his ultimate goals.
Ariana_Thorngaggle

you have asked a dangerous question to a message board, I know I love talking about my characters...and sadly I also made it to 4...

Airieanala (Riena) Thorngaggle, tribal Talenta halfling turned cleric of Balinor (air and animal domains) and her raptor mount Marriabella (Ariana) (one of the really fast raptors). She was in by far the BEST adventuring group we ever had in the most cohesive and thrilling adventure I had ever been in. She was a cleric who believed that showing extreme emotion caused the most pain, and at least once a day it seemed, she'd cast calm emotions on somebody, not necessarily always in a helpful manner. The other big spell she hit to fulfill this were the restorations, which again were sometimes used to better effect than others. She was basically in love with animals, spent a lot of her (very limited) skill points on various animal based abilites she rarely got to use. She would spend her speak with animal once a day to talk to with Ariana who would usually say things like "hungry, hungry, sleepy, run, run fast wind woosh!" or when Riena was doing something exceptionally important she'd talk Ariana through it, like the time I'd missed the lightning rail all of my comrades were on and we needed to be on it, so I raced the train, winning a raptor race in the process, and then pushed her for 3 rounds (healing every round) to catch up with the car they were in, where the barbarian halfling ( my childhood friend in the group) pulled us in. 5 minutes later a guy on a hover craft ripped the door off to stop us leaving, and I used control winds to make a vacuum in the train, and a hurricane force wind to blow him off the hovercraft. In a later event when we needed to run in the lightning rail, I spent all of my turning attempts to bolster the air elemental running the ship to speed it up, and we actually got away. Those are her highlights. She was horrible in battle combat wise, and so the few times she needed to use her ghost touch sling with shocking bullets, I mean literally every time I had to use the sling, I botched and hit a teammate at least once, including one occasion where after botching and hitting the paladin with my first attack I botched the second one, and then critted the paladin with the second. After a while she was banned from slings. Our whole adventuring party was involved in a huge dragonmarked house plot even though none of us had dragonmarks, in addition to our main plot, and when we completed our main goal, we all manifested sibberys marks, hers was Jurasco. it was the best game ever, but no one wants to hear all the rambling I could do.

Karikati "Kitty" Shifter Ranger (bow) from the lycanthropic blood of snow leopards (solid white character with short cropped hair and piercing blue eye who grow spots when shifting), she's a longstrider with the improved feat. She's just so...fun! She and the rogue in our party play hide and seek all the time when not in pursuit of anything, and because of the massive amount of hide and tracking we never find each other unless he gives up first. Since we have a scion in the party, we are almost always mindlinked, and never speak out loud in battle, and sometimes later while at the pub. This does make it rather fun to taunt your opponent while hiding as well. Mostly the roll playing is fun, and it's the first character I've had with a decent attack roll (I used to play casters) so the first adventure we went she used up all her arrows and more. I've just started playing her, so I don't really have a lot of stories yet, she's just fun.

Ten Foebinder, orc warlock (from the World of Warcraft d20 system). She was named after step 10 of a seduction my friend found in the library "using the demonic power of words to incite chaos". She had a demon minion that was a felstalker, so he had a pounce attack in which he stole the magical energy (spells per day) of people. I had been trying to help the druids of Evergrove for my quest of atonement, and accidentally went into the emerald dream where in saving the emerald dream I brought arcane magic there and blew up a bunch of the ancestral spirits. The head druid tortured her cruelly and refused to treat Ten as a human being, and when they got back to the ship, her demon comforted her by saying things like "don't worry, I love your magic." "he's got to sleep sometime I could get him for you." "come on let's get him together...it'll be delicious...all druids should die." and after feeding the demon some of her spells, she pulled out the bag of boars we'd found (it was a tan bag of tricks that had only produced boars in 15 rolls) and fed it 2 boars before hiding in a closet, where she got a wolf, orc's favoured animals, and cuddled with it until she fell asleep, waking up the next morning with an evil alignment. later in the campaign a demon hunter ate her demon in front of her and opened her eyes to the light. She went through another atonement spell, became a barbarian and is on the path to being a demon hunter, one who fights and banishes demons by being deeply in touch with how to control them. (they're blind too with magical sight and a blade made of a demonic soul). oh she's fun.

also from the WoW system, Alleria Windrunner (her big sister's name was Sylvie...when people talk about it she cries), high-elf hunter/mage. My friend and I share alternate personalities of this character, hers is the illusionist, mine is the destructive magic and hunter levels. We share the same body, but can split and become separate entities identical in every way, except my half is left handed. She's been alternating levels hunter and mage based on what fails her when they really need it. In the last adventure, our party decided they didn't want to try to save the town as an infernal tore it apart, so she kited it across the shimmering flats shooting it with her bow for an hour until it was dead. This is where our campaign ended for the summer...they will be made to feel shame.

Characters are awesome...especially if they use d-8s. For real if anyone actually likes long tales of awesome adventure, there are so many amazing things that happened in the Riena game...I explode with glee if you'd want to hear them

Many of them, i'll just put three random ones here

1] Emerald the Monk- A woman who wanted to prove that women can brawl/fight as well as any man.She travelled with an adventuring group to see the world and teach any men who thought women weak a lesson.she fell in love with a gladiator. But was made to fight him in a - to the death duel by the king whose amorous attempts she had fought off.She willingly underused her abilities so that her love could win.But before the duel came to it's obvious conclusion, her comrades escaped out of prison where they'd been unjustly put and saved the day.Later she gave up adventuring and is now a happy mother of two.Her fighting days are behind her now, unless ....
2] Dach the ogre wizard - An ogre who thought he was cursed somehow because he couldn't swing big clubs like his brothers. He ran away because he had enough of his tribe's ridicule at how weak he was.He was wounded by wild animals and left to die.A druid nursed him back to health. He later adventured with the druid and his friends.Eventually he came to understand and admire his wizardly powers and come to terms with his weaknesses. He later returned to his tribe and defeated the chieftain to become leader of the tribe
3] Araunthor the gold dragon - Playing such a highly intelligent and charismatic creature is an extreme challenge. He was reared by a wizard and friends who had saved him from dragonslayers. He later helped them to fight the cult of tiamat who had slain his mother and planned to rule the kingdom in tiamat's name.He was slain in the climactic battle but not before he had defeated an aspect of tiamat critical to the cult's plans

Oh, this is easy -_-

Lyra Stablade:
Human, female, CN, Rogue
Her sarcastic attitude got her teammates mutilated (thier own stupidity, I swear). Shes a vengeful little thing, quick for pay back and money.

Xanafia:
Elf, female, CG, Druid
She was very laid back, to the point where it made her companions mad. And she had a fricken dire wolf!

Tasslehoff Kender Burrfoot:
Halfling, male, CG, Rogue
Yea, I went there. I based him completly off the 'real' tasslehoff - annoyingly cheery, curious, and always finding things in his pockets...

Unfortinattly, I havent played with any of them past three session, but we're getting there!

Saint Glima Beren "Cloak" "Ol' one arm" "The Selfless"
NG Gnome Wizard 10/Apostle of Peace 10

Glima started out as a selfish TN Illusionist/Transfigurist, but as the campaign drew on and Glima saw first hand the effects that the currupted Drow controlled government had on poverty. Never knowing what it ment to be "without" anything Glima started to feel for the suffering people. He then decided that he must do something about it and set out to do his part for the people of his world.

Long storey short, he lost his arm to a sliding wall trap attempting to bide time for the Goblin Rogue/Assassan (who hated gnomes). As soon as the Rogue/Assassan was through the trap it snapped shut destroying Glima's arm. He then goes on to fund/run "The House of Selflessness" which has free food and board for the poor.

Well, I've only got one character right now who comes to mind as a particular favorite.

This being Kin-Amar, my first Dread Necromancer and one that got to a pure level 20 from level 3.

The reason this character is so memorable? He had an overwhelming fear of the undead.

I'll just let you think about that.
Candin

06-22-07, 01:38 AM
My sorcerer, Candin Calimide (that I take my bored name from). He's a CG wild mage, who adventures primarily for fame and glory. He also spends a lot of time and effort redistributing the local gold supply (:

He's an eccentric little human who takes a particular enjoyment in manipulating fate. He's extremely charismatic (charisma score is around 27) and is a bit of a practical joker (his patron deity is Chaav, and he took Draconic Heritage with Copper Dragon as his heritage).

He has a habit of making titles for himself. I think right now he has two:

Duke Candin Calimide, the Legitimate Do-gooder of Gloriously Tactical Verisimilitude

and

Candin the Cheesemaker

Bear in mind that my character isn't a Duke, and all of his titles are self-imposed. It started as Candin the Legitimate Do-gooder when the local authority labelled us as "legitimate" when we told him we were starting a band of wonder-men to do good deeds. Do-gooder got tacked on. Then I became the Tactician when I saved a lot of soldiers in an epic battle by dimension dooring a contingency of heroes to lay waste to a horde of archers (I figured it'd be Candin the Insane). Then he just threw in adjectives and adverbs for length. Dunno where verisimilitude came from..maybe to sound more legitimate? (:

He's also hired a bard who's sole purpose is to record tales of his, and the party's exploits. He also doubles as introducing my character as a Duke (:

A homebrew setting, Tarn Dolstone, Dwarven Cleric.
He was a LN cleric of a LG War Deity, he was all about duty. Duty came before everything. He wasn't a hero because it was the "right thing to do," he did it because he was supposed to. It became his responsibility, he didn't particularly like it all the time but dangit, he was made responsible. Darn holy quests. Often times he was the most 'heroic acting' of the party charging into harms way... but he was never genuinely compassionate or selfless. It was his duty, and he would gladly die in the line of duty, and did! Kinda... soul ripped out and tossed into the planes... his body is technically still 'alive' just empty.

One quirk I liked about him was his perchance to pick up titles as the story progressed. The rest of the party was also given titles at various points (the elf even became a Lord), but none of them USED their titles. Tarn did, by 14th level the humble cleric who started out as "Tarn Dolstone, Cleric of Kijo" became "Sir Tarn Dolstone the Pious, Reverend Son of Kijo the Blade, Defender of the Throne, Hero of Prophecy, Demon Slayer, General of Green Phoenix Legions." The rest of the party would occasionally throw in Pig Bane as a running joke. Tarn would always introduce himself as such, the whole thing. I relished any opportunity to say it all too. There was always a group sigh when new NPCs were introduced because I would always launch into the titles.

Caraigh o Shaenact: The drunken Caelach warrior who makes a living doing mercenary work and used to be the slave of the now love of hsi life who let him go and when they had first met shot him in the chest with 3 arrows

Eamon the Slasher: A Caelach warrior in one of my online campaigns who is a merc and a big smart arse. Being Caelach hes an excellent fighter in both unarmed and armed combat but hes even good for Caelach standards. And he works for a forgein government to get him self out of doing prison time.

Shamia Kashan: A hyper and crazy 17 year old Hasharan girl who grew up on a farm and ran away from home. She was saved from bandits by a passing Caelach warrior who then taught her the very basic training with the longsword he gave her. But shes crap for a long time.

Sir Aaryon Goodblood
LG Human, Paladin 6/Merseus 7
A paladin of the Moon Goddess Selune, Aaryon devoted himself to cleansing the land of evil and dutifully healing the sick. His adventures led him to battle most foul creatures from the abyss and eventually caused the formation of a second moon!

Darren Cardinale
CN Human, Sorcerer 5/Fighter 1/Elderitch Knight 2
The leader of a barbarian tribe, he attempted to reclaim lands stolen from his people and fulfill a prophecy that he would lead them to victory. Died on the field of battle.

Camlo Rye
LE Human, Bard 4/Favored Soul 4/Mystic Theurge 2
Currently helping an ancient evil reclaim the throne of it's lands, while secretly working to literally bring Hell to the Earth.

Nerim 12 lvl human rogue:
Was actually a very nice guy, but the adventure group was assembled, when he and one the other PCs tried to steal something from the three last PC trade convoy. After that they were all defeated and left to die by orcs, and wops! a new group was forged. My character would laugh every time somebody mensioned caltrops because the three PCs all stepped on his caltrops during the orc fight :D . In the higher levels he got obsessed by collecting a ancient assasins old gear, and it slowly corrupted him to being a bad guy.....

The character that I liked best would have been Bart. He was a druid and focused on wild shape. When he was wildshaped however I playeed him as more bestial following the discworld reasoning that if you put water in a jug it takes the shape of the jug. During one of his adventures they faced a hag who had little children chained to her armor and she was using them as a living shield. In his more bestial state Bart accidentally slew two of the children. For a long time the pressure stayed on them, mainly because they where being chased by a powerful enemy through a hostile country.
When they finally made it back to safe territory he really got it bad.
He couldn't wildshape anymore, took to heavy drinking and later when they got hurled through time he really snapped when he learned that due to his actions several hundred druids where brutally hunted down and murdered.
He wanted to go back in time and with his broken mind he reasoned that if he could go back far enough and stop this from happening everything would be okay.
So he worked for drow, evil organisations while keeping all this a secret from the party. But in the end he did come back! Found his girl whom he immediately married and retired to live in the mountains.
The only damper was that the DM tried to get my char out of retirement by infecting his children with some kind of weird paralyzing virus.

Poe Poe = The 2nd lvl, Fey-Touched, Gnome Rogue.

Poe Poe was born into extreme poverty in Kraxen, the greatest city that spanned almost every plane of existance (there was a planar rift, if you walked down a street, you might pass through 4 different planes... wierd town)

Anyway, bounty hunters were the main form of law enforcement in this city, and he tried his luck at this with his little full blooded, gnome buddy. Poe Poe was a daredevil at heart, he knew no fear (or was just too stupid to realise that he should be affraid). He would always put his hand up for the suicidal missions, always wanting to push the limits as much as possible.

When his accomplishments were finally acknowledged, he was knighted, the King was dumb enough to ask him and his friend what their titles would be. They came up with-

'The Flaming Knights Errant of the Most Radiant Heart in the service of the good people of Kraxen" (Im pretty sure 'most radiant heart' is a paladin order out of BG2 though)

I only have two.

Laucian Durowa, Elder, epic level CE Human Summoner (homebrew class).
--Laucian was an influential academic with a family, but his obsession with magic, his drive to make pacts with more and more powerful creatures, has undone him. Now quite mad, he is convinced that his duty is to spread the will of Chaos; indeed, he fancies himself some sort of avatar. He's hellish as a PC--his eroded sanity is difficult to play--but as an NPC he's become one of my most successful villains.

"Leonidas," CN Half-fiend Rogue 19.
--Born in the Abyss, Leo has spent most of his life isolated from contact with other creatures; what little raising he had was provided by two clerics of Nerull and a group of highly intelligent monsters known as the Jeweler Spirits. Therefore, when he escaped onto the Prime Material Plane, rescued by a group of demon-hunting adventurers, he had almost no idea of the way mortal societies are "supposed" to go. He's made a sort of name for himself as an "information" broker in a large port city, and has gotten used to human life. He is primarily self-interested, but capable of being a decent team player. Of all the characters I've played, he has been the most fun.

Very difficult to do... OK, here goes.

Zatrat (no last name) Kobold Sorcerer currently level 9. Neutral Evil
Began as a lowly slave to another PC (Hobgoblin fighter). As he grew in power, he became a confidant/spy to a powerful mage who, after quite a few adventures, rewarded his spy with a scroll of lesser geas. He used the scroll, intimidation and his considerable bluff skill to dominate the hobgoblin warrior and take over the leadership of 'The Blades', our adventuring troop.
Very secretive, Zatrat rarely lets others be aware of his special powers (using the silent and stilled spell options where appropriate), but makes sure that none have any doubt that it is HE who leads the Blades.

Gongo Littlebottom, AKA Squeak - Halfling Rogue 2/Barbarian 1/Ranger 1. Chaotic Neutral
A homicidal, daggar wielding halfling whose parents had been murdered by bugbears. Once a soft spoken, but mischeivious boy, the halfling is crass, rude and obnoxious even to those who consider him a friend. He has a passionate dislike of all things taller than he is (which is most everyone) and flies into a fury when confronted with bugbears.

His mind ever focused on vengance of his family, the oft-delusional halfling is quick to fight. Fortunately, his skill with the blade has seen him through most fights, but there is no doubt his time will soon come.

Boddynipple Fartnocker AKA Nips - Gnomish Bard 6 Chaotic Good
Quick with a riddle and a joke, Nips is something of an anomaly - a bard who can't sing. Focusing his efforts in comedy, this diminutive creature typically shouts out one liners during combat (such as 'you might be a half-orc jokes) -- some of them carrying the force of bardic magic, some not.
"What's the last thing that goes through a goblins mind in a battle?" he asks a goblin opponent. "THIS!" he bellows, the stout end of his staff cracking the creature's head open.
His most treasured possession is his Rod of Wonder, which he activates with the powerful command <belch> quite often.
His contant companion is Toonces, his alcoholic housecat that flees from the first sign of battle, always to reappear when drinks are poured.

Currently playing a warforged Warblade/Sword sage: Hel Kaakhaar.

He's a typical warforged; simple and a very blunt instrument, who's better at using brute force than diplomacy. His spiked chain is never lowered, even when engaging in peaceful conversation, just in case an ambush should take place.
While not a people-person he hopes to expand his current "unit" with other students of the Sublime Way, if only so he has someone who understands battle is more than death and destruction. He'd also welcome anyone else who was willing to fight for the group, as he believes that the way he and his captain (a Marshal) practices is the most powerful (strengthening ones allies, rather than relying solely on ones own power).

---

My former character also had some impact; a Changeling Warlock commonly known as Leonus Vanalan.

A scoundrel of the worst kind, this worshipper of the Blood of Vol might not stab you in the back and might even do his best to ensure your freedom, but if you've proved yourself to be a liability he's more than likely to leave you to your fate.
His take on reality is quite loose, being so skilled in the art of disguise and deception that not a single disguise was penetrated during his career, he resigned himself to acknowledging that he wouldn't be able to discover all deceptions himself anyway, so he stopped trying.

He fled when the rest of the group were slaughtered by hobgoblins and a green dragon, thinking it safer to run like mad than staying around for the aftermath.

---

Before that it gets a lot more muddy, but I would probably have to say: Dehok d'Tethyamar, a Changeling Concordant [from an AEG book], though in flavour his shapechanging abilities were a result of his adoption of the latter class.

Having grown up as a simple blacksmith, Dehok was incredibly surprised when he was assaulted by an obvious madman in the middle of the night, especially because this man looked almost exactly like himself (though his counterpart was clearly much older) and only through luck managed to crush the mans skull. In fear he'd run away, unsure of what'd happened, but found that he'd unlocked powers within himself; powers of shapechanging among other things.
Fearful of what was happening, he began studying arcane tomes of the phenomenon and realized he was a Concordant, a person who has killed his counterpart from another plane of existance and absorbed his power, and he also learned that planar twins were always bound to fight to the death whenever they met. In an act of despair he turned to Beelzebul for help, using an ancient ritual to summon a messenger of this powerful patron, and begging for protection.
His wish was granted, but at a price. He'd have to serve Beelzebul for eternity and slay every one of his twins that was caught.

And so he ended up showing how he and another (formerly) mortal servant of a devil could disrupt mortal politics forever. ((and then there were the other guys in the party, but they ended up being pawns of those two party members :D ))

My favorite was Doran Neil Lugh (Neil to his friends), The Wanderer of Pelor. He was a Sorcerer 6/Spellguard 5/War weaver 5/Incantatrix 4/Monk 2 at his greatest incarnation. He had the spontaneous metamagic substitution ability on the Sorcerer levels and the Spellguard was modified to give him the Celestial Bloodline feat (since we where in a generic campaign setting). Also, he had the Dragon Mag feat that gave him the Healing Domain as one of his known spells. The rest of the party began to call him ‘the Sorcerer with a Cleric complex.’

Mordred Gallathilien, a neutral evil effeminate elf necromancer. Couldn't care less to whatever the party could be pursuing, but was happy as long as he could kill with awful displays of painful magic. He was also envious of the other party wizard, who was an evoker with every stat higher than his. He also had a half-brother paladin, Halbarad. As much as this can sound cliché (like his name is), it wasn't so much as a Raistlin/Caramon relationship. Mordred truly loves his brother and earnestly admires his good intentions, though they often sound stupid. The funniest thing is that, despite such opposite alignments, they both often had agreement against the rest of the party - and it always made sense with their alignments! Odd and funny.

Kiriff Umgathol, a (lesser version) LG drow sorcerer gish. The drow city in which he lived was destroyed (part of the adventure plot) and he ended up in the surface, where he found that life was more than killing people. He was also the host of a demon spirit, which manifested somehow with the powers he had to polymorph into demons (he had the otherworldly feat). Eventually, the demon spirit possessed his soul altogether, and it was a sacred exorcist of Pelor who freed him. Later on, he converted himself to Pelor (which was really odd, because he forced himself to face the sun despite the stinging pain and tears that rolled whenever that happened). He had all kind of necromantic and evil-looking spells before his conversion, and only good/light spells after he beacame a SEx :rimshot:

Cyril Alexander
Human, N Illusionist 3/Master Specialist 1 (intends to go into shadowcraft)

Cyril is, by far, my favorite, mostly because he's quite realistic and human. His mother killed his father when he was 4, and he hadn't seen her since at the beginning of the campaign. He was taken in by an Arcanist College, where he showed prowess in illusion magic. When the events of the campaign took them away from the city, Cyril left the one thing that he had any sort of allegiance to (the college). His mother showed up soon after that, riding a red dragon and claiming that she was the daughter of Tiamat (the villain of the campaign, as it seems). Cyril is currently seriously conflicted about this information, but has become, if anything, more cheerful in an attempt to offset the other party members' worries and hide his true feelings. He's a clever mage who has little to no ambition beyond discovering his own past and learning more illusion magic; the rest will come, I think.

Fenrir Brand
Human, LN Monk 2/Cleric 4/Sacred Fist 4

Fenrir is a cleric of Zuoken, and seeks to emulate his example. He views every situation as a test, and seeks to overcome every obstacle. He's capable of ridiculous acrobatic stunts (skill tricks, 20+ modifier to jump with magic and increased speed) and doesn't shy away from doing the craziest things possible if it challenges him and results in victory. He also has the Fiendish Heritige tree, and has two large, black horns; could be that he's trying to overcome that, too.

Wade
Dwarf, CN Gestalt Ranger/Rouge 2
This dwarf is the daredevil of daredevils who doesn't hesitate to leap over pits of spikes or dive past the swinging blades (Wis 7). His mother described him as "Unfortunately Curious". Loaded down with waraxes, throwing axes, hatchets, battleaxes, and the little axes which aren't actually useful beyond their humour potential, Wade will brave any ruin, dungeon, or hallucinogenic flower with glee.

Self, a Warforged artificer with an identity crisis, wasn't given a name to begin with and has spent years deciding on a suitable one. Found Doc the docent, kind of a cowboy personality. Self is also linked with Hephaestus the humunculus. And has recently developed a split personalit with in it's (hasn't decided on gender yet either) own head. Prophet, after Self was told that Self possessed a soul, the revelation created Prophet. Prophet will be an architect of the Becoming God (faiths of eberron). Self is also a mad inventor, and is in the process of binding an air elemental to it's shoulders so Self can fly on a jet pack of air (and will probably be mentally linked with that too).

Chunthax "Chuckles" Bonecracker Chuckles is a half orc paragon/ monk/ fist of the forest. He's quick to anger but even quicker to laugh. He sees himself as kind of a protector of the forest and will blank when he rages and not remember what happened while enraged.

Bartleby Reaglehardt a 16 year old paladin ranger that rides a rhino. Bartleby is the naive boyscout to the hilt. With just a bit of chaotic thrown in there because I can't help but play totally crazy characters

;) Traamros: Elan Psionic/3 NE
very twisted fellow, Never talked to no one and let his actions do the talking many people feared him but was a great allie if you gain his trust. For every kill in his belt, he grabbed collected their weapons stick them in the ground and then beheaded his enemies and stuck their heads in the hilts. Hoping to lead a trail of followers to try take him down. Love Challenges...

Dwarf Druid/3 CG
Probably one of my favorites when it came to games Very unusual character stoled from his place of birth and abandoned in a forest. Was raised by Elves and thought in the way of Mielikki. Not liked by many Elves or Dwarves.... His name given to him by Elven Family meant Pile of Coal.... Believed he one day would change the perception of both races.

And my latest
Calenir : Elf Sorcerer/4 CN
Cast out from his home town acused of accidentaly killing his parents with his uncontrollable powers. I'm in a quest to find who ruined my life. Also in some persuit of power from the current Campaing using the other Pc's to accomplish this. Always ask his Shadow if i should help in a situation or not... I was told by a party member to seek a Sage's help. But they keep me around because i'm very like in towns(char 18) and can Charm anyone ;)

They are all memorable in their own way, but here's the 2 most interesting:

Fug Lee - Half-orc Barbarian 22/Fighter 4: Fug started his career as a Barbarian, and upon wandering into civilized lands, joined a militant group, where he was specially trained in the use of two-bladed swords, and engaged in war. After some years of training and battle, he returned to his Barbaric ways and sought adventure. He was invited by a small group of famous adventurers out of Sigil, who where on a dire quest to retrieve several artifacts. He had no idea exactly just what he was getting himself into. Upon battling an ooze, he was suddenly transformed into the grotesque form of a 4 armed demon, barely recognizable as himself. Upon realizing the full functional use of his new limbs, he has adapted to some amazing battle prowess at the cost of his horrific disfigurement. Despite this, he is very well known in Sigil as a Champion of Kord, unmatched by any who would challenge him, and as an upstanding citizen.

Kaera Wann - Forest Gnome Beguiler 7/Shadow Adept 1: Kaera started her career in Waterdeep, working as a messenger for a Dwarven clan. Her seemingly inate ability to immitate images and sounds with magic makes her perfect for the job. After witnessing some vicous attacks near her home, and aiding the city guard in thwarting a band of thugs, she was hired to take a nightwatch around her neighborhood to eliminate their ring. She tries not to draw attention, but some of the cityfolk have taken notice of her unusually powerful and dark spellcasting ability. Word travels fast though, and she was hired on a mission to investigate some strange shadow cult activity in a nearby land, in hopes she could explain the similarities between her casting ability and the cults. She has recently found out that this cult is somehow tied to the Goddess, Shar.

Here are my highly favored characters,

Thoran Torunn (CG) 10th, 7 Fig, 3 Barb, Worships Thor/Moradin
4'5, 210lbs? (tallest dwarf can be, and is the youngest/weighs the less they can be)

A dwarf warrior of the torunn clan. His has a typical hate for Giants,Goblins, and Orcs of all things. As well as views elves being weak individuals who are usually to puny to do anything. However the exception is his best friend who is an elf paladin, which he met a long time ago when Thoran was merely a kid. The Paladin in his teenage years, saved him from a wolf by scaring it off with a stick. Also during a attack of Goblinoids, two goblinoid generals, that were Highly devoted members of their Goblin deity Maguilibyt (Deity for bugbears/hobgoblins). Attacked Thorans village, the attack ended up being warded off, however Thorans Grandpa was slain fighting the generals off. Thorans Grandpa was a craze like of a dwarf, he could dual wield expertly, also had very extreme training methods. Wanted to teach Thoran, however his parents were against it and sent him to normal training school.

In the start of Thorans adventures, he had slain the parents of a hobgoblin child, and thus feeling guilty, had adopted him as his son. Later Thoran had also gained a powerful Throwing axe he named Glinvear, also got a dwarven knight bodyguard via a legendary Artifact that gave gifts, this artifact is in the form of a Deck of cards.(Deck of many things). Thoran currently is going on a quest to get the Legendary Hammer of Thunderbolts, As Thoran wishes to share much of his deity Thor.

I otherwise still play this character to this day, however the schedule being very rarely.

Vigvis Venderes (LG) 5th? Paladin of ArchAngel
(specific holy figure in the campaign)

A paladin who follows the ways of the Archangel, that is, to defend the Innocent, Bring justice to evil, corrupt individuals. He was tied to no church, as thus could not be forced to do any corrupt acts, in fact he would even fight a Church of Heinerous If he had to. His family background is that his ancestors were once Enslaved by the Demon Lord Pazuzu. However, they broke and escaped his tyranny. The ancestors took up jobs as merchants and that is all that I know family background. Otherwise definitely always tried to avoid violence, preferring to capture rather than kill, however was forced into the role of destroying his enemies.

Otherwise the game had stopped due to a slight story incident, someday the game will return

Behime (LN) Crane clan-forgot the subclan part, (Rokugan)
Courtier Black hair and an affinity for wearing black raven like feathered stuff.

A courtier spoke in a interesting voice by me, it being the most deep voice I could ever go. Pretty different since He was a class that avoided combat, pure roleplaying for him and nothing more. Also at 3rd level, I would have a +22 to Diplomacy check! So I pretty much made sure he was maximized! for Diplomacy.

Tommy
Sorcerer 7
Was in life for himself but regularly found his party dying from different monster attacks that he himself was living through. Roughly lived through 3 different TPK. He was very grounded and slow to make decisions.

Zekk Akai
Fighter/War Hulk/Kensai
A white half dragon mercenary, who by epic levels worked for a very powerful vampire lord charged to protect his daughter. He had the ability to kill a lot things in one or two rounds. He wield a scythe and wore a black cloak, grim reaper. It was just so much fun to actually ask my party members if they wanted help. When they said no he stayed out.

Jack Xeros
Scout/Dread Commando
I fashioned his personality after that of Col. Jack O'Neil. It was great to role play that whole ...Umm this is a really bad idea... anytime we were in a fight. Sneaking around and making sure I shot from the dark also made it fun.
