| neilthrun03-03-07, 02:16 PM | I've been trying to create a character that had 1 base class and 19 other prestige classes in a lvl 20 build. And the task isn't easy. Here what I've got so far. I'm going to use 3.5 material where updated, and 3.0 if it hasn't been updated. I'm also most likely going to have to mix campaign settings. But lets stick to WOTC published material. Unearthed Arcana is good, but lets stay away from generics and gestalt. 25 point buy. Human Stats, Int 18 Flaws-any two. Commoner1-City Slicker, Lightning Reflexes, Great Fortitude, Investigate Survivor1- Stoneblessed1-Iron Will Forsaker1- Master Inquistive 1- And at this point I'm stuck. If I can somehow get move silently as a class skill I could take a level in assasin. This would be great, because when combined with practiced spellcaster I could start take PRCs that require CL 5. Second Build, tentative build. Require alot of skills, but I think with 18int and being human it would work. Would work for sure if I could fit able learner in early. Human 2 flaws 18 int Cleric 1(Dwarf and Drow domains:Great Fortitude, Lightning Reflexes)City Slicker, Track, Iron Will, Able Learner Forsaker1 Stoneblessed1-Investigate Master Inquistive SOMETHING 1 Watch Detective1-SkillFocus(Something?) Assasin1 Ruathar1 Exemplar1-Practiced Spellcaster Dragon Disciple1- Acolyte of the Skin1- Anyway, somethings of note, having both arcane and divine spellcasting is important. Practiced Spellcaster helps, but feats are in short supply. City Slicker and Stoneblessed are giving me the class skills for Master inquistive. Starting as a rogue would give me 60 skill points at lvl 1 and a great skill list when combined with able learner. If I can get into some full bab classes a whole new realm of PRCS would be available. Anyway, anyone else ever tried this or want to have a go at it? |

You’re missing one of your first level feats; I’m not sure if you forgot to list it or if it’s an open feat. If you can get up to second level arcane and divine spells, you could take Mystic Theurge and Geomancer. Full base attack bonus prestige classes would be tricky. Horizon Walker requires endurance. Blood Storm Blade requires Point Blank Shot, a maneuver, and a stance. Jade Phoenix Mage and Ruby Knight Vindicator require some maneuvers and stances. You might be able to use items to acquire the maneuvers, if that suits your tastes. Master of the Unseen Hand requires access to Telekinesis. Again, if you believe in using item abilities to qualify for prestige classes, you might be able to use a Ring of Telekinesis. Invisible Blade probably requires more feats than you can spare. |

The feat I left out was able learner. It might not be necessary, but it sure is helpfull when allocating skill points. I'll edit that post to put it in. |

Funny, I didnt even notice it. Good catch. I'll update the build, and getting working on the higher levels tomorrow. |

| hogarth03-05-07, 01:33 PM | Another slightly different opening might be: Cleric (Drow, Dwarf) 1 - Lightning Reflexes, Great Fortitude, Iron Will, Apprentice (Martial Artist), Thrall to Demon Forsaker 1 Stoneblessed 1 - Willing Deformity Thrall of Juiblex 1 |

I'm not sure what Apprentice(Martial Artist) is. Is that from cityscape or DMG2? And while I'm willing to ignore the special requirement of the sacrifice infront of oozes, ignoring the polymorph requirement is a bit iffy. Perhaps a party member could cast some kind of spell or something. Human Paragon would help also. It would, but paragon classes aren't prestige classes. Aside from that if I allow paragon classes I could make a half elf or half orc and take 1 lvl of 2 different paragon levels(3 for half dragon). Which makes the whole exercise a little too easy. |
| FriendlyFrog03-06-07, 04:00 AM | Apprentice feats are from DMGII, indeed. They give you a new class skill or two, and some minor bonuses with them, if my memory serves me well today. |

Apprentice (Martial Artist) gives Escape Artist and Tumble as class skills (and +2 to Reflex saves). Paying an NPC wizard to cast Polymorph on you would only cost 280 gp. Not a big deal. |

| NiteCyper03-10-07, 02:16 AM | Use Factotum. Use 32 point-buy. Now kick me if I didn't help. |
| The Rizz03-12-07, 08:18 PM | Forsaker1- [...] Anyway, somethings of note, having both arcane and divine spellcasting is important. You can't use any spellcasting if you're going to be a forsaker. Or do you intend to be an ex-forsaker? Also, I'm working on a tentative build for this, but want some clarification: What arcane and divine casting are important? Any particular spells, spell levels, or caster levels? Or is 1st level casting in each good enough? |
