For some PrC's, the bit "(and spells known, if applicable)" is omitted, which would imply that Sorcerers would not learn new spells when taking that PrC, but Wizards and Clerics would. It would also allow you to cast several spells per day at a level for which you know no spells. Is this intended? Are we missing something? Should my Sorcerer/Cleric/Mystic Theurge really just be a gimped Cleric with a few levels of Sorcerer? |

The only change is sometimes it is specific to +1 level of a type of class Divine/Arcane/Ranger etc. The number of known spells always increases - it's an intrinsic part of spellcasting. Note that a wizard continues to get 2 free spells per level when he gets a +1 level of existing spellcasting class - however the familiar ability does not continue to improve unless that class also has the familiar ability. Spells known, bonus spells for wizards, caster level - all that stuff is part of "spellcasting" and is improved. Mark Charke |
