((This is a thread about the Twin Lamps, a guild that free slaves. If you want to join this one, there are two sides. The Twin Lamps and a very rich, powerful orc with lots of slaves (Bjorn).

*Jorael and the other five men, including The Drow Serjith Malakian, and the other four whom Jorael doesn't really know that well yet, but they were sent from the Twin Lamps. As they move through the forest in the early morning, walking through the fog that covers the forest floor, one would notice that their horses are packed for a long road. Each horse carrying two saddle bags and a blanket. They are rigged for quick release if they need to break into a sprint for some reason.

Jorael looks at his friends who are all wearing dark green cloaks, save for Serjith, of course, and pulls down the mask that covers his face from his nose and below. And takes a deep breath of the crisp morning air.*

"Serj, do you think anymore will want too join us?"

~~Serj looks to Jorael , his face under the shadows of his cowl, his mask still covering his mouth. He reaches up and pulls down the mask and shrugs.~~

"I seem to doubt it, although you're still hoping that someone will be showing up."

~~He grin to himself as he pulls his mask back up, and looks to the other four.~~

.oO(All human save for the wood elf.)

~~Serj's black horse picks up some speed trotting forward a bit to scout ahead.~~

.oO(We still have a good two days of travel ahead, but we should be there after sundown.)

~He looks at his saddle, making sure the roll of chain on each side of the saddle is there. at the end of each chain, is a spearhead. Under his black cloak, is a small pack of metal orbs, and two rolls of chains....He pats his own back to make sure his black broad sword was still sheathed behind his back. Then, looks back to Jorael as he trots up beside Serj.~

"I heard that this Bjorn character has some mighty powerful mercenaries. Best money can buy."

~Serj Grins~

"I like those odds."

Though pretty much out-of-place in the forest, the little grey thing is fairly unlikely to attract attention, hanging head-down from a shadowy branch as it did. However when the group passed the tree it was hanging from, the little bat spread its wings, and despite the daylight, flew up and moved along with the group for a few minutes, before finally settling on the back of whichever steed seems to carry the least weight. The bat then crawled into some dark fold in the equipment mounted on the horse.

(That would be Jorael with the lightest load.)

*Jorael watched the bat for a moment only to look away just before the bat hid. As he rode his horse, he unsheathed his sabre. And admired the barb at the tip of the blade. He then began to clean it, still keeping his ears atuned to everything he can. Eventually he sheathed his blade behind his back and looks to Serj.*

The early morning sun shines on a large farm in the middle of a gorgeous valley. A large 10 ft tall wall surrounds several acres inside the green valley. Throughout this fenced land is several fields with a slave here and there tilling the fields and there is a mine to the east on the side of a mountain with several other slaves coming out and in with carts. The fenclines go right up to the mountains which flank the valley on each side. A river runs down the mountain to the west in a small lake and continues into a small river through the mines with a few bridges here crossing the river at different places. To the south of the compound lies some tan stone buildings, like a villa, with one building that serves a slave house which in it lives about 20 slaves. Another building is a warehouse and the last is a large mansion wheres Byorn resides. A cobblestone comes from a get in the north of the compound over a bridge to all the buildings.

A young drow with dark ebony skin, white messy hair and red eyes pushes a very heavy cart full of coal out of the dark dusty mine. He wears some brown scraggly clothes with several tears. He grunts and barely pushes the coal cart up a slope to the bridge and one of the wheels falls into a hole and the cart tips over spilling its contents into the river.

Across the river a large, tall orc (who wears expensive clothes and golden armor who has some tribal tattoos covering his face and peirced ears) sees these and heads over there with an angry look on his face.

"What do you think you're doing Zeak, how dare you!, you just wasted a lot of money by losing that coal." Bjorn slap him on the side of the head and kicks his cart, rolling it over on its back. "Get in the river and get every peice of coal back, and lick the mud off it and get them clean." He motions to a nearby orc guard to make sure he does so. He storms back to his house quite angry.

Zeak watches in terror as his cart of coal spills into the river. o0(oh no). Bjorn trudges over and scolds him and tells him his punishment. He nods sadly and watches as an orc guard approaches and motions for him to get started. The orc guard is adorned in silver armor and a spear with a sabre to his side.

Zeak slips into the cold, deep river and swims down and spots a few coal peaces, most of the other went with the current back into the mine. As he holds his breath under the water he begins losing his place from the current. The water whisks him away down into the mine. It carries him down hard rocky bumps and jagged rock, cutting and scraping him on the way. He rolls and tumbles under water until he finally hits a rock hard and pulls himself ashore. He looks about the dimly torch lit underground cave. An orc guard approaches and kicks him in the ribs.

"Thought you'd go for a swim aye," The fat guard orc tells him. He lifts him to his feet,"Now get to work." Suddenly some arms out of the shadows grab him by the neck and snaps his neck killing him instantly. Zeak looking in horror as the orc he was just talking to fall lifeless to the ground. He barely sees the face of a man through the shadows.

"Help me with this,"The man says to Zeak. Zeak nods and grabs the feet of the orc and carrys him him into the shadows and down a thin crevice into a small hole, deep underground. The man lights a torch so Zeak can see his features much better. He has red hair and a red beard, a scarred face and young physique, and wears the same rags as him. "I've been down here for days, I've been hiding and have been planning an escape, you can help me and we can get out of here, by the way I'm Mace," He extends a hand to the yound drow.

Zeak shakes his hand and tells him his name,"I'm Zeak, I'm with you all the way, we can use the guards weapons and armor, I'll do anything to get out of here."

"Yah," Mace pulls his sabre and some food off him eating hungrily, offering some to Zeak who accepts,"Alright heres my plan....

*The team's first day of traveling went fine, they made one stop at small village, got some supplies as well as some food. (Jorael kept some fruit in a small leather pouch, and it into his saddlebag.) And they rode till the sun was nearly set. As Jorael spotted a small clearing, which a small stream ran through, he looked to his comrades*

"We are making good time today boys, we might as well set up camp here for the night, in the morning we will follow this stream until it joins up with the Odai river. We will follow it downstream at that is where we shall find our friend. We will go over a more detailed plan of action later."

*Jorael climbed of his paint horse. And took the saddle bags onto his shoulder, he took the reigns from his horse and patted his nose and puts his own head to his horse's head (Khuul, for future references). Knowing that his steed will stay he moved towards a tree setting the saddlebags down next to the tree and unrolls his bed roll under the tree as well, on a soft patch of grass in the lush meadow.
Jorael sat down leaning his back against the tree looking over the area. He took the sheath of his sword from his back and laid over his lap, unsheathing the barbed-tip sabre. Jorael took a piece of cloth out from the saddlebag and begins to clean the blade. Eventually Jorael turned the sabre up and drop the piece of cloth onto the blade, watching it float onto the blade and be cut into two pieces from the sharp edge of the sword. Jorael grinned to himself knowing that the curved dagger sheathed in a smaller scabbard on his sabre sheath was just as sharp. (as well as the five throwing dagger under his cloak.
The young man, no older that 23, stands up from his bed roll and moves over to Khuul, taking off his saddle, he carries it back to the tree, inspecing his bow and arrows.
Jorael is not a big man by any means, standing about 5'10 with a lean yet well defined build, one may note that Jorael favored speed and the sharp bite of his blade compared to heavy armor and brute force. To Jorael fighting was an art, not a way of life. A piece of art that if he messed up, he couldn't start over, he would probably die. But to die for this cause, would be a death dying for.*

Jorael loved nothing more than too free slaves, being a slave for most of his teen years did not really turn him onto the whole slavery/oppression thing. Although there was one thing that he may have loved more then working for the Twin Lamps.

"We will use this raft here that I made out of mining carts and these make shift paddles made out of spears, but it takes two people to man this raft down the river through the mountain," Mace explained to him.

"Do you think its safe going down this river underground?" The drow asked the man.

"Well Zeak, its a chance we have to take." He then grabbed the raft with spear paddles on it and motioned for him to help. They both carried it out to the river through the long dark narrow passage. Mace held the raft their while Zeak got on and then Mace jumped aboard. As soon as he did so the raft got tooken by the strong current and they both had a makeshift paddle in hand and steered down the river.

It started getting extremley rough and they couldn't see anything. They flopped around and suddenly went down a small waterfall and they lost one the paddles. The wall to their left was approaching very fast so Zeak held out his paddle to stop their raft from colliding but it snapped in two and the raft thudded against the side almost destroying it.

"That was a close one but we have no paddles now,"Mace said....a large stalagmite clunked him in the back of the knocking him unconcous on the raft. Zeak went to his aid while their raft bounced and bobbed in the furrious rapids. Suddenly a light at the end of the tunnel appeared but with a catch....a waterfall behind it. Before Zeak could react the raft shattered as it a rock underwater and they both went down the waterfall.
