Elan,
Psion 10 (nomad)/Metamind 10

Now you activate "Source of Power", and each turn you manifest "Temporal Reitaration".

At the cost of all your swift actions, you will have inifinites PP for ever.

Then, use them to activate your Resilience (From elan racial feature) and absorbe all damage direct to you.

You can still manifest powerful augmented powers and have a lot of time for you! Manifesting "Temporal Acceleration" and then contnuing manifesting "Temporal Reitaration"...

Furthermore there is another (disputable) : Having "Synchronicity" linked (by "Linked Power" feat) to T.R.
Every time you manifest T.R., you manifest Synchro too, and ready an action, then you stop casting T.R. for a round and BOOOM.

The probable bug is that you can't have more than one readied action ready in one time.

Bye Bye...

Actually, if you use an Immediate action to activate Elan Resilience (which only works against one attack), you don't have a Swift action on your next round to manifest Temporal Reiteration (nor do you have any more Immediate actions to activate Elan Resilience again before your next turn).

Infinite PP all day is still fairly cool.

Yeah ^^
And can I use a move action to do what normally is a swift action?
And still we can spend a single round of infinite PPs to absorbe all damage from a single (lethal) attack.

I can't think of any reason you could. I think that's a d20 Modern rule or something.

Oh man, I remember seeing something saying you could recently, and I remember being ecstatic about it. Now if there were any way to prove I wasn't dreaming...

It was probably in SW saga that you are remembering the fact you can use a standard as a move and a move as a swift

Ok, nothing. Only having limitless PP, so.

We actually knew about this the very same day Complete Psionic came out.

And it's been *DESTROYED* on the psi boards, because you may have effectively unlimited power points*, but you don't have a high enough manifester level to use them properly. If a normal prestige class is like getting a car, and the Incantrix is like getting a Transformer, then the Metamind is like getting a swift kick in the nuts.

*Note that it doesn't say you have unlimited power points, but rather that manifesting powers doesn't deduct their cost from your reserve. Elan abilities, for instance, still deduct normally since they're not manifesting powers.

Furthermore, this falls apart as soon as you sleep.

The usual way of "fixing" this is to play a Warforged Egoist, of all things. Pick up Leadership and get this fellow as your cohort, then manifest Fusion. One interesting side effect of this trick is that durations of effects on you continue to function while it's active, so this fusion is effectively permanent (note that warforged do not sleep), provided you don't spend an immediate action doing anything.
Callix

11-13-07, 04:18 AM
The other thing that the Warforged Egoist can do is a one-round Temporal Acceleration... that lasts forever. Temporal Reiteration lets you use that one-round time stop for as long as you want. Just use up one round of Font of Power when you want time to start moving again.

Pretty cool as an NPC. You wander over the hill, and see a warforged standing out in the plain below. He notices you, and the world seems to blur. Now, a large, fortified castle looms before you. Want to find out what's in there?

He spends a few years, compressed into less than a second, to build the castle. Lets you keep the landscape fresh.

Cascade Bomb (http://forums.gleemax.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-637859.html) works independent of the character, on the other hand its a pain to set up.

archerpwr - Soorry , about your eyes. I don't know if a Cure Light Wounds, or a Cure Disease would help. I seem to be failing a Knowledge(un-knowledge) check, as an opposed roll to your Knowledge(un-knowledge) roll. If you could clarify what it is that you don't understand, I would stop not understanding, what it is that you don't understand. OTOH, as that "great" philosopher Donald Rumsfeld said, this may be one of those known un-knowns. That is, we both know, that something is unknown, but we both don't know, what that something is. I don't know what you don't know, but we both know that we don't know, what it is that is not known. From our mutual position of not knowing, we can blindly grasp the ?elephant? , of what is not known, unless of course, both of us insist, on not using what we do know, independently, of something, that may or may not, have bearing on what it is that we are unable to figure out - what is known - what is unknown.
We know something. And we seem to want to un-un-know, something we don't know.
Hopefully, this is something, we both want to know.

 rules as written. In a sarcastic, :banghead:, kind of love. It's so funny when a theoretical optomization build gets ruined by rules not working the way they reasonably should. It's like getting a taste of your own medicine.

Y si hay personas que estan leyendo esto y hablan castellano, lo siento.

See the problem here is that at 18th level you gain access to the ability to have a permanent amount of infinite power points (fission, 2 affinity fields, bestow power). So metamind still sucks. I never saw a link to that method however and would be very happy if tempest could reassure me that it works or correct me about its actual working.

Actually, the best build is a Wilder-based build. Using Expanded Knowledge to pick up Temporal Iteration and Postpone Enervation to give you some wiggle-room, you can gain the benefit of surging euphoria and the ML boost continuously, since your surging euphoria never has to end, and you can postpone enervation indefinitely. So, if you pick versatile powers that augment great, you can make a viable build to abuse this trick.

Deutsch. SCH is spelled like the english "SH" (as in WISH). "EU" is spelled like "OI" (as in VOID). DOITSH.

While it doesn't make getting to Metamind 10 suck any less (and I still wouldn't touch the build with an 11 foot pole), Practiced Manifester almost completely negates the ML gap between a straight psion 20 and a psion 10/metamind 10.

Metamind is still, of course, a metaphorical swift kick to the nuts.

Ardent is a better base, since you can still get level 9 powers.
