| Mindolin03-02-07, 03:43 PM | .Hello everyone, I've come bearing an idea and a few stat blocks. The idea is simply to post ideas for the stats of various anime characters and give advice on how to improve the characters we've made. Let's try and stay within what has already been provided by Wizards of the Coast, although base classes, feats, and items are allowed if needed. Enjoy yourselves, and here is the first one, Pride from Full Metal Alchemist Pride, Male Homunculi Ftr15: CR 16; Medium Aberration (Psionic); HD 15d10+15(Fighter) ; hp 102; Init +6; Spd 30; AC:12 (Flatfooted:10 Touch:12); Atk +17/12/7 base melee, +17/12/7 base ranged; +21/16/11 (1d6+8, +2 Scimitar); SQ: Repletion (Su), Resilience (Su), Resistance (Su), Naturally Psionic: 2 Bonus PP; AL LE; SV Fort +10, Ref +9, Will +5; STR 14, DEX 14, CON 12, INT 13, WIS 11, CHA 15. Skills: Bluff +11, Disguise +11, Sense Motive +9. Feats: Armor Proficiency: heavy, Armor Proficiency: light, Armor Proficiency: medium, Blind-Fight, Combat Expertise, Dodge, Greater Weapon Focus: Scimitar, Greater Weapon Specialization: Scimitar, Improved Combat Expertise, Improved Critical: Scimitar, Improved Disarm, Improved Initiative, Lightning Reflexes, Naturally Psionic 2, Power Attack, Shield Proficiency, Simple Weapon Proficiency, Tower Shield Proficiency, Weapon Focus: Scimitar, Weapon Specialization: Scimitar, Wild Talent. Possessions: Weapons: +2 Scimitar (8,315 gp). Goods: Eye of Ouroboros (see below), 7 Incomplete Philosopher’s Stones (see below), 335 gp. Eye of Ouroboross: This magic graft grants Pride a +20 bonus on attack rolls, which is usually split equally between his AC and damage, thanks to Power Attack and Combat Expertise. It cannot be salvaged, as the power of the eye leaves at the moment of Pride’s final death. Incomplete Philosopher’s Stones: These magic items are used to power the life of the Homunculi. They function as a compressed set of 25 dull grey ioun stones, although they are a deep red in actual color. They serve to allow the Homunculi to regenerate. Each Incomplete Philosopher’s Stone that the Homunculi has allows the healing of 50 hp, at the expense of that Stone. Each Philosopher's Stone costs 625 gp. Homunculi Race: Elan from Expanded Psionics Handbook. The +1 CR is due to the fact that Pride has items in excess of the amount he should possess. |
| Mindolin03-02-07, 04:30 PM | And now for the big cat of Yu Yu Hakusho, the Second Saint Beast Byakko, Male Weretiger Ogre Giant4/Shaper4: CR 9; Large Giant (Shapechanger); HD 4d8+28(Giant) , 4d4+28(Psion) ; hp 94; Init +2; Spd 30; AC:24 (Flatfooted:22 Touch:13); Atk +18 base melee, +6 base ranged; +18 (2d6+14, Unarmed strike); SA: Curse of Lycanthropy (Su) ; SQ: Darkvision (Ex): 60 ft., Low-light Vision (Ex), Lycanthropic Empathy (Ex), Damage Reduction (Su): 10/Silver, Alternate Form (Su); AL CE; SV Fort +12, Ref +4, Will +10; STR 39, DEX 15, CON 25, INT 12, WIS 16, CHA 9. Skills: Bluff +3, Climb +26, Listen +8, Spot +5. Feats: Alertness, Boost Construct, Improved Toughness, Improved Unarmed Strike, Iron Will, Simple Weapon Proficiency. Spells Known (Psion): 1st -- Astral Construct, Demoralize, Energy Ray, Vigor; 2nd -- Biofeedback, Energy Adaptation, Specified, Levitate, Psionic. Possessions: Goods: 19,600 gp Magic: Wondrous: Belt, Monk`s (13,000 gp); Wondrous: Bracers of Armor +4 (16,000 gp); Ring: Psionic Might (20,000 gp), 400 Ioun Stones (ingested), 2000 gp. The Ring of Psionic Might is the Psionic Equivalent of the Arcane Might ring. The 400 Dull Grey Ioun stones are so Byakko can use Astral Construct to create his energy beasts, and so he can use his Tiger Scream to clear the room of the pillars. Specified Energy Adaptation is to represent his ability to survive the lava or acid he fell into, while Psionic Levitate shows how he got out. He still would have taken a fair amount of damage, so Vigor shows how he had enough HP to go seek help from Seiryu, even though it didn't work out. Energy Ray (Sonic) represents his Tiger Scream technique. |
| Mindolin03-05-07, 11:23 AM | Got any requests for who to do next? I've got Goku and Ryu made, but am still working out some of the kinks on them. |
| mikeloop8603-08-07, 08:50 PM | Just for kicks and giggles, stat Ryoko, Tenchi, Ayeka, and Yosho from Tenchi Muyo. While were at it, try statting the Ronin Warriors, I always wanted to play them against the party. |
| Mindolin03-09-07, 09:46 AM | I'll try the Ronin Warriors, but it has been a long time since I watched Tenchi Muyo, and the show never interested me much when I did watch it. Also, if anyone else wants to post their take on a character, feel free to post the stats |

| Jear7703-10-07, 04:03 PM | How about the three Yugioh's? Yugioh - Ancient spirit of the Pharroh, Yugioh- the young and naïve (at least in the begining of the series) and then Yugioh Gx (maybe a few other characters -- or monsters from the Yugioh series?) |
| Shin_Koryu8803-13-07, 05:39 PM | how about trying to make some yuyu hakusho character? |
| JDunk03-21-07, 12:39 AM | This will probably start a small flamewar, but how about the spells from The Slayers? Not necessarily Lina Inverse's big guns like the Dragu Slave or the Giga Slave, but spells like the Ragna Blade, Ra Tilt, and the Damu Brass. How would you stat out the interaction between Gourry's Sword of Light and Lina's Dragu Slave that was used to take down the fragment of Shabranigdo? |
| Prime3203-21-07, 05:56 PM | I have no idea what that is, but it had a lot of funny words :P Why isn't there a thread like this for video game characters? |
| The_Shaman04-14-07, 08:35 AM | This will probably start a small flamewar, but how about the spells from The Slayers? Not necessarily Lina Inverse's big guns like the Dragu Slave or the Giga Slave, but spells like the Ragna Blade, Ra Tilt, and the Damu Brass. How would you stat out the interaction between Gourry's Sword of Light and Lina's Dragu Slave that was used to take down the fragment of Shabranigdo? With Slayers there's the matter of what different magic translates to. I think Filia was the only one that was said to wield the "true" divine magic, so I'm wondering if what Zel and Amelia do wouldn't amount more to psionics. Also, you could set the campaign either at the lower 10s or in epic levels, depending on how much creative license you take with the damage issue in the series. So, back to conversion: Laguna Blade: Black Blade of Disaster, Magic of Faerun, maybe lower levels as it doesn't act on its own Rah Tilt: er, that one's a bit weird... a damaging version of banishment, I suppose, since it only works on outsiders (monsters that have their body on the astral plane). If it doeswork on humans, perhaps psychic crush or recall death. Damu Bras: Hmm... Ranged touch attack, good damage and no AoE... Orb of X, I suppose (Complete Arcane) Burst Rondo - Magic Missile (possibly an elemental spell instead of a force one) The sword of light - obviously a unique magic item or an artifact. There's no problem for it acting as a rod of empower, among other things. Anyway, I'd suggest you find the d20 slayers book, I've heard some great things about it. |

| The_Shaman05-22-07, 02:57 PM | I always consider it a bit weird when we have to go near-epic to portray the powers of someone in their low (ok, mid now) teens... Mind you, it takes a bit of time to make a warrior-ish character start having the laws of physics take a hike. Any takers on Shadow Skill, btw? I'm thinking Warblade for most Sevaars, wizard? for Fey, but some of the others are giving me trouble. |
| LoneStranger05-24-07, 07:35 PM | I'd love to see the main characters and ships from Cowboy Bebop made, but that's just me. |
| cat_god05-26-07, 01:38 AM | Ooh... I love Dragon Half! |
| Mindolin09-13-07, 12:52 PM | Sorry I've been away for a while. Not able to do too much as I haven't seen too many anime that lent themselves well to D&D. Ronin Warriors are pretty much only for their armor, although Warblade and Swordsage could work for some of them, as they use special abilities. Or Wilder, since they only have a few techniques. Most people from Bebop are rogues/fighter of various levels, usually around 7 or so, when they usually go after low level enemies. Here's my newest work: Sasuke Uchiha, using only one homebrew feat. It represents him right after the battle against Haku. Uchiha Sasuke, Male Human Sor3/Mnk2: CR 5; Medium Humanoid ; HD 3d4(Sorcerer) , 2d8(Monk) ; hp 18; Init +2; Spd 30; AC:13 (Flatfooted:11 Touch:13); Atk +3 base melee, +4 base ranged; +3 (1d6+1, Unarmed strike); AL LG; SV Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +7; STR 13, DEX 15, CON 10, INT 12, WIS 12, CHA 14. Skills: Concentration +6, Escape Artist +4, Hide +4, Jump +4, Knowledge (Arcana) +9, Move Silently +6, Spellcraft +13, Spot +3, Tumble +5. Feats: Improved Unarmed Strike, Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, Sharingan, Simple Weapon Proficiency. Spells Known (Sor 6/6): 1st -- Burning Hands, Disguise Self. One Tomoe Sharingan PreReqs: Member of Uchiha clan, 3rd Character level. The Sharingan develops in you, and you gain a +2 bonus on Spot checks and Spellcraft checks, a +1 bonus on saves against directly harmful illusions, such as Phantasmal Killer, but not on, as an example, an illusionary floor over a pit. Special: You may gain this feat even if not a member of the Uchiha clan, provided you can somehow find a near death Uchiha who is willing to grant you his eyes. Good luck not having them kill you. |
| Prime3209-13-07, 01:21 PM | I've started statting characters from TTA (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/188938) (It gets way better). Does that count? |
| The_Shaman09-13-07, 06:41 PM | Ok, here's an attempt to do a conversion of a Claymore character for d20... I originally tried doing it for a Charop exercise, but it didn't get much feedback. "Phantom" Miria TN Elan psychic warrior 8/Slayer 1 (or higher)/Elocatrix2 (or higher) Abilities: Str 14 Dex 16+ Con 14 Int 13 Wis 16 Cha 10 (or similar; high dexterity and intelligence are expected, wisdom is enough for a steady supply of PP) PP reserve: 36 (presuming a wisdom of 16/17), ML 9, 9 Powers Lvl 1: skate (or burst, skate is more versatile and is more likely after the 7-year hiatus), vigor, detect psionics (or, if sensing other claymores is covered by the Slayer level, offensive precognition) Lvl 2: animal affinity (demon affinity, a.k.a. Golden Eye mode), body adjustment, psionic lion's charge, Lvl 3: Dimension slide, Escape detection (or hustle, if enough slayer levels will be taken to get the scrying immunity-ish power), Psi-Keen Edge (possibly substitute for biofeedback / wall walker depending on feats and campaign difficulty) Advancement: Variant 1: Power attack fun (uses greatsword) PW1:dodge, mobility (PW bonus) PW2: Power attack (PW bonus) PW3:Spring attack PW4: PW5:Speed of thought (PW bonus) PW6: Psionic Charge OR PW 6: Track PW7: PW8:Track (PW bonus, could be taken earlier) Slayer1: Favored enemy (youma), Enemy sense, Favored Power Attack (presumes FPA can be taken for any class that gives you a favored enemy), Elocator1: Sidestep charge (bonus), Elocator2: Opportunistic strike - mix elocator and slayer levels Variant 2: somewhat more purist and mobility-oriented, uses bastard sword PW1:dodge, mobility (PW bonus) PW2: EWP: Bastard Sword (PW bonus) PW3:Spring attack PW4 PW5:Speed of thought (PW bonus) PW 6: Track Slayer 1: Favored enemy (youma), Enemy sense, Elocator1: Sidestep charge (bonus), Elocator2: Opportunistic strike, up the wall OR Power attack Elocator3: dimension step Elocator4: flanker - mix elocator and slayer levels Variations: the PA/FPA is a good way to get extra damage against the most likely foe (youma), but does not fit the style of every warrior. OTOH, a more purist interpretation of the group's fighting style would include the claymores being usable in one hand - meaning that instead of greatswords they would have to be bastard swords. Eventual progression should aim for lvl 6 powers - the CPsi inconstant location would best approximate her trademark skill - not to mention being a damn good power in its own right. |
