| Prime3209-04-07, 12:05 PM | (This is based on a reversed version of the curse system in the Ravenloft Campaign Setting.) With a loud bang, another student fell dead at the wizard's feet. “Fools, you are only apprentices! I am an archmage!” Only one apprentice was left. One of his classmates lying on the floor, bleeding heavily, turned to him and said “You have to do it, you're the only one left.” before his eyes rolled back into his head. The last student faced his former teacher without fear, and began to cast a spell. “Ha! What do you think you can do against me?” The apprentice thought of his friends, pointed at the archmage and shouted “METEOR SWARM!” In dramatic circumstances, a character may provide a boost to another character's abilities. The character providing the boost (referred to as the invoker), makes a Charisma check. Depending on the result of the check, the target can select one boost of the appropriate level (he may select a boost of lower level if he wishes). The effects of a boost last for the duration of the encounter. Justification This is a measure of the urgency of the situation. Providing a boost to Charisma for gambling is unjustified. Providing a boost to Strength to fight the villain that has killed all the other party members and plots to destroy the world is highly justified. | Pyre_Born01-29-08, 11:15 AM | I really like this idea, but right now I have nothing to add, so basically I'm bumping you, hopefully someone will have some insight. I'll try and look this over thoroughly and get some advice in here. But after a skim, I really like this idea! Peace, Pyre |
