Hey, I haven't been around for awhile (on Wizards), and this is a new sn for me. It's good to be back. This is something of a pet project for me, and despite the fact that it's a 5-year-old setting (since I first started working on it), there's still so much to be done, and it's such an ambitious project that I'm trying to do, there's just no way I could do it all by myself. In the past, it seems not to have been for everyone, but it's always found it's niche of people who did really love it as I was developing it along, but its' continued to change and evolve radically over time as pieces of it have appeared on Wizards Boards over in Other Worlds here and other places, and it's continuing to change even today as I write, rewrite, and write more of it.

I'm gonna keep the first few posts here real simple just to gauge if anyone's even interested- in adding one Feat if you have a cool idea for one that fits, or in getting involved with helping me do the whole thing, whatever you feel like. Let me know. Next thing I'm putting up is basically how I would describe it, in terms of things you (most likely) already know.

Here's pretty much the recipe for it.

Blue Submarine No. 6 (destroyed earth, Jung Zorndyk e-like megascientist super world figure, with altered-human race vs. "original" human race, though it's not a water-based world, and in a twist worthy of M. Night Shyamalan himself, in this world, it's the humans who've gone bad and the would-be megalomaniac and his followers, worshippers and creations turn out to be the only ones left fighting the good fight!)+ Dragonball Z (not in terms of style, it's not a martial arts deal, but in terms of power levels of some of the characters, advanced technology on the scales of genes and atoms has made some people very dangerous indeed)+

Neon Genesis Evangelion (there are Eva-like giant organisms that are used in the wars but they're not central, instead, think more of conflictual Judeo-Christian imagery and more broadly, religion in general, from Evangelion, as well as a big penchant for scrutinizing the nature of existence and reality, ESPECIALLY a focus on rights of the individual vs group rights, the central conflict around which the whole story revolves, as well as themes of questioning determinism vs free will, destiny and fate, a concept from which the world takes the name I have in mind for it).

*deep breath*

+Gundam (again, it's not so much the mecha, there aren't SO many of them in this, but the centering around the continuous brutal wars between the various human and good, evil, and neutral colonies and sides)+ Galaxy Express 999/Harlock Saga/Star Blazers (and other Matsumoto stuff, that's right, some of this old-school anime and manga, even stuff like Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo or Outlaw Star as well as other space opera is a big influence on my ideas for it once it majorly expands out from earth into its' own space empire/war/opera era, since I'm right now setting the world simultaneously in 3 different eras)+ Treasure Planet/Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon (I know it's Disney, but so is Kingdom Hearts partially, and a lot of visual flavor from the later eras is drawn from this)+

C. J. Cherryh's Faded Sun Trilogy and her other books+ Dune+ Halo+ Ghost in the Shell+ Dark Sun+ Dungeons & Dragons in general in space (and in the future earth)+ Desert Punk by Usune Masatoshi (if it were a drama instead of a comedy- without all the softcore porn stuff, and with war instead of just a jokey version of Trigun kinda stuff)+ Gamma World+ Terminator (yes, that's right, Terminator, with The Governator)+ a little bit of every sci-fi and fantasy ever made+ oh jeez I don't know, every other comic book, graphic novel, anime, manga, television show, film, novel, documentary, wooden table, or cumulonimbus cloud formation that's ever given me a good idea+ a WHOLE lot of ideas I've just come up with from my own self without any outside influence.

Oh, and more than ANY other non-anime influence, Warhammer 40,000. WH40K, WH40K, WH40K.

So..........................anyone interested, then? :D
