| Arathil10-09-03, 09:19 PM | Seeing as how I'm relatively new to the WotC bulletin boards and the associated community, I'm thinking I'll start things off nice and slow. Erego, I'll be running some published 3rd Edition modules (updated to version 3.5), beginning with The Sunless Citadel. The run will be open to anybody who's interested in participating, up to a point; character sheets are required, and should be posted to this thread. Here's the aforementioned "point:" If you move to join and notice that there appears to be four or more active Players already, please mention your interest here and inquire about joining before simply joining in. This run will be based in Greyhawk, but what knowledge that is needed beyond the limited material in the Player's Handbook can be picked up along the way. Only the Player's Handbook for version 3.5 is needed to participate. Players may also use the various 3rd Edition class supplements, Savage Species, and Dragon Magazine v.3.5 update issues #310 and #311. Alignment is restricted to any Good, Lawful Neutral, or True Neutral. Characters must begin at Level 1, which means that if your race is from Savage Species your ECL must be 1 or less... else you must take monster levels, prior to taking standard class levels (you may only do the latter for monster classes which the book has already detailed). This will be a roleplay-oriented game. Dice will be involved, but extensive and well-done RP is expected. Character concepts must be coherent to the world of Oerth... no Drow, no reeking gorgonzola like fallen angels or reformed demons or penitent vampires. Your character can't be of an appearance, aura, atmosphere or demeanor which would cause it to be shot and fireballed on sight on approach to any city's walls... before you had a chance to explain to the guards why your sulfur-reeking monstrosity is different and ought to be given a chance. Immunity to being shot and/or fireballed does not compensate. I look forward to the game, and can promise a good (or at least interesting) time to all... :D |

| Arathil10-11-03, 01:35 PM | Character sheets are required, so access to the rules is necessary; you don't have to memorize them all, but you'll need to be able to look them up otherwise. This is going to be a D&D v.3.5 run, not a freeform. The version 3.5 System Reference Documents can be found at http://www.wizards.com/d20 if you'd be willing to use them, assuming (from your post) that you don't have the Player's Handbook in physical form. Aside from the requirement of the PHB, or the SRDs for v.3.5, the game is open to anybody willing to put a little effort into their characters and into their subsequent roleplaying, newbies included. :) |
