are these feats optimal? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I am making a Gestalt Warblade/ Swordsage. I am starting out at first level, probably going to 20th, maybe higher. The race for this guy is human.

I was thinking of taking the feats Rapid Assualt and Desert Fire (not sure about that name, it is the feat that effectively gives you a skirmish ability as long as you are in a desert wind stance for an extra 1D6 damage).

While these feat will be nice at lower levels, are they really going to be useful for the long haul? I now wonder if Power Attack or something would be better.

What do you guys think?

Even though all the info in that post is pretty useful, none of it really applies to well to a gestalt character. Of course, if I had a concept of what I wanted this guy to do, then the build ideas would be much more useful. I have to admit, I am a little bit at a loss as to what to do with this guy.

He is the main melee guy in the group. He doesn't need to be sneaky, he doesn't need to cast spells, and he doesn't need to worry about doing ranged damage. He is the run up and beat 'em up guy. So, I guess I need to make this guy be able to do as much damage as he can as quickly as he can. That was half the reason I origonally was going to go with the above mentioned feats. An extra 2D6 on the first attack of combat sounded nice, but I figure I can do better than that.

As a gestalt character, I am not limited by being only one initiator class at a time. I have access to all but the Devoted Spirit school. I have great hit points, all good saves, and full BAB.

With all of that in mind, I am not sure how I would go about using any of the build ideas. I would imagine I might be able to combine two of them, one of the Warblade builds and one of the Swordsage builds, but to what degree? I can't take all of the feats of both builds, and those seem to be integral.

Any ideas on what I should do, here?
