| Gideon_Gideonson12-16-06, 09:22 PM | For those of you in Sorcen's Battle Arena, this is the thread for the apparently impending battle of A Ton of People vs. Caben Duur. When we figure out the total, we'll begin. So post your entry in the original thread, so I can figure out just what I'm up against. All characters killed will be rezzed (if you want them to be), on the off-chance someone dies (well...SOMEONE will...and I know who...Caben, I'm looking at you). So...if you want to take part, go ahead and join. Just remember...this thread is liable to have at least a few fatalities...:D But i've got the ending worked out, so don't worry. Just need some dramatic filler... But its all in good fun, so if you have something against your character dying, even temporarily, please PM me. And if you want your character to die, please PM me. |
| Lord_Gareth12-16-06, 09:26 PM | "Caben, I don' wan' ta figh' ya. I wan' ta 'elp ya. There's go'a be a way ta fix this, I know there i'. But, in the meantime, I'll stan' 'ere, wit' ya, despi' any crazies bouncin' 'round yer skull. I won' let these people en' ya, no' when yer so close to discoverin' all tha thin's tha' 'ave bee' denied ya so long." Kyle steps in front of Caben, back turned to the blood magus. His short knives are out and ready, as he glares at each of Caben's challengers in turn. "Come o' the', SHOW ME WHA' YA GO'!" |
| cog_n_taz12-16-06, 11:33 PM | The grey robed figure hovers over to the two, an invisible force attempting to shove Kyle aside. A deep, impressive voice cuts through the arena."Kyle Killigan, Caben Duur, and all those who choose to aid these defilers of The Order. Like all before you, you shall be Annulled. Come, THIS ENDS NOW. |
| Revlis_Nogard12-17-06, 01:07 AM | A panda charges in from the tavern where the combatants are gathering. A look of rage in his eyes burns like the heat of a thousand suns. Once he reaches his destination, he stands upright. Suddenly, his body begins to shudder. His fur recedes into his skin as his foreclaws begins to twist and bend to form humanoid hands. His height shrinks, and his muscles appear to shrivel and atrophy. Where the panda was before now stands what looks like an elf. His hair is a tangled mess, and vines seem to be growing out of it. His eyes are impossibly blue like the ocean. His skin is a dark earthy tone. His face looks as though it's constantly aging and then regressing, shifting constantly. He is impossilby lanky, but radiates an aura of health and physical well-being. After a few moments, it is apparent that he is not breathing, although it also doesn't seem to be a problem. He is wearing the hide of some primeval beast, and in his left hand is a sword made entirely of wood. Revlis Nogard has returned. He speaks in a voice that is both calming and disturbing at the same time, like the combining of a gentle breeze and a firestorm. Caben Duur...You are finished. |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-17-06, 01:29 PM | Caben Duur steps forward, blood seeping out of the very ground he treads on. As he pushes past Kyle, it becomes obvious that he is struggling to refrain from attacking the man. But Caben Duur continues onward, recovering quickly. Finally the abomination stands in the center of the soon-to-be combatants. So...it begins. Now all will perish. SORCEN ANENOOATA! Come down from your cowardly hiding place and face me! I am here to destroy, and you have forsaken your own domain! You send weaklings against me, but fear to join battle yourself! Caben looks scornfully at the foes facing him. Look, "Lord" Is this all your great realm has to send against us? An empty cloak and a skinny man? "Great" lord, we fear these "champions" will provide any challenge at all. What else do you have? Caben slides forward as he speaks, his claws extending with a terrible ripping noise. Thorny tendrils of unknown plants snake out from under his cloak, reaching outward, grasping at the air. Bloody liquid drips from the vines, pooling horribly on the ground, and a deep, throaty laugh reverberates in the still air. Nothing will come of this. You will all die. And then the world will die. |
| cog_n_taz12-17-06, 05:25 PM | ((you know, him saying it as a matter of fact is the bit that scares me...)) "Kyle Killigan, Caben Duur, we have hunted you long for this day. Revlis nogard, step aside, or be dealt with as they will. " As it hears Caben Duur's shouts it speaks again, though only a whisper, it seems to fill the whole arena, "Fool, We are no empty cloak, nor sorcen's servant. We are The Order, and we have come for you. We are your undoing, Caben Duur, your END." |
| Khael12-17-06, 05:31 PM | The Judge's herald pipes up at Caben's challenge: "The three refuse youe challenge little one, but my master sends you this instead" At this a hulking Golem-thing steps out, cast in black metal with an inlay of bone. |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-17-06, 05:33 PM | Little one...I will remember that. Baator will be the first to taste the pain of oblivion. Obviously the lords are afraid...I understand. Orthos could not hold me forever...they could fare no better. They will be among the first to die. But this Order...I know not what you speak of, cloaked one. No matter. Your blood will stain this ground e'er this day is over. Now...what are you? With that, Caben Duur rushes forward, claws ripping, tendrils slashing violently. The air around him darkens, and screams of pain, agony, and violent passion fill the arena...the spirits of the vengeful dead have awakened. And Caben Duur hurtles onward, slamming into the cloaked figure with impossible force, ripping, rending and tearing. The figures cloak falls to the ground, torn and ruined, a mass of bloody fiber. It falls aside, to reveal... |
| Lord_Gareth12-17-06, 05:35 PM | ((Ignore this, Gideon posted something before me that I didn't catch)) |
| cog_n_taz12-17-06, 10:00 PM | ...nothing. The cloak falls to the ground and erupt into gray flames, a semblance of a screamng face drifting outwards into nothing. Suddenly, all in the battle feel themselves slowly crushed against the ground by an impossible amount of force.. Time seems to slow, and the air turns gray, thick and translucent. The Order is behind them, watching. "We are many, Caben Duur, you have not defeated us...we are your end, you shall not escape, nor Kyle Killigan. ((ahh... the joys of resisting a wafflestomp...hey, LG is contagious!)) |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-17-06, 10:05 PM | Caben Duur stands firm, apparently unaffected. Fools! We are so much stronger than you could possibly believe...have you any idea how much power the death of gods brings? But tell us...Why us? Why him? What are you? Tell us...your death will be much more interesting when we know. |
| Lord_Gareth12-17-06, 10:05 PM | "Son of a gnoll-spawned maggot eating illegitamate child of the hair on Eythernul's backside! I'LL END YA!" Kyle snarls, and the spell pressing against him shatters ((Oh, the joys of spell resistance)). He rips his daggers through the images of the Order, still not knowing who or what they are, only knowing his absolute fury at them. Without pausing to see the effect, he rushes low at Revlis, moving at the speed of sound. |
| Revlis_Nogard12-17-06, 10:15 PM | As if a river was being released from a dam, Revlis's right fist erupts at Kyle's face. The sounds of breaking bone can be heard as the attack makes contact. What are you doing? Your target should be that monstrosity of pain and misery! OOC: Gareth...please enlighten me on the meaning of "wafflestomp." I need to use it in m daily vocabulary... |
| Lord_Gareth12-17-06, 10:20 PM | ((Alright. First, there's owned. Then there's WTF owned. Then there's Pwned, followed by WTF pwned and OMGWTF Pwned. Above all those is Wafflestomp. Wafflestomp is the kind of utter victory that not even God could prevent.)) Kyle staggers back, his nose bleeding, but already beginning to heal. He snarls ferally, coming back in to the attack low and fast, slashing this way and that in a lighting web of steel. "Tha way 'e is now ain' 'is faul'. I's my responsibility ta fix i', as a frien' an' as a perso', an' I won' le' ya en' 'im fer somethin' I did!" |
| Revlis_Nogard12-17-06, 10:24 PM | Revlis blocks and parries as much as he can, his blade and body temporarily turning to stone on the moments that Kyle's blades make contact. It's not what he is now...it's what he's always been that warrants his immediate destruction! We tried many years ago, but we couldn't, so suffering was allowed to continue. So it's my fault he's still alive now. So you're the one who should not interfere! |
| cog_n_taz12-17-06, 10:31 PM | The image of The Order fades, and reappears on the other end of the arena. It speaks softly in kyle`s mind. "his doom was preordained long before your interference, mortal, as was yours. Know this, and go to your grave with a clear conscience. As for you, Caben Duur, we expected that one such as you would know this, but we shall tell you...in time." A bubble of gray, translucent air envelops Kyle Killigan. Time seems to move faster inside the bubble, though Kyle is, if anything, slowed. As he moves, the wear of the ages assaults him... his armor begins to rot and flake, his weapons rust, but this is not all. As he looks around, he notices something. To his horror, Kyle Killigan is becoming an old man... " the weakest shall be Annulled first. Only then shall we end Caben Duur." |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-17-06, 10:38 PM | Caben Duur charges forward, rage and hatred lending speed to his rotting bones. The very ground around him buckles and splits beneath his feet as he runs, and the spirits of the dead whirl about his form. The cloaked abomination hits the Order a terrible blow, both physically and spiritually, as bony claws and vengeful spirits rip and tear at the Order's astral substance. Unless we end you first! |
| Revlis_Nogard12-17-06, 10:39 PM | Revlis leaps like a cat and attempts to drive his blade deep into Caben's chest. No! You will hurt no others! |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-17-06, 10:46 PM | The blade burst straight through, punching out the other side of Caben Duur's body, but the monstrosity keeps moving, blade still embedded in its chest, dragging the weight of Revlis behind it as if the shapechanger weighed nothing. Then Caben Duur notices his passenger. Thick vines whip out, grabbing Revlis and ripping him bodily off of Caben Duur. Thorns rake the shapechanger's flesh as the mighty tendrils fling him skyward, batting him away like a fly. |
| Revlis_Nogard12-17-06, 10:50 PM | Revlis is only concerned with the terribly wracking pain for a moment. As he focuses his energies, his wounds begin to shut. He extends his hand forward and causes his blade to rip through Caben to back to his hand. He grabs it and thrusts it out. A wall of cruel barbed thorns rips from the ground to stop Caben in his tracks. |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-17-06, 10:54 PM | Or they would, were Caben Duur not running on the lifeforce of a slain god (yep...the god didn't deliver...and Caben Duur got angry). He breaks throught the vines as if they were so much paper, sending foot long thorns flying lethally about the arena. Turning, he faces Revlis. You seem familiar...We have not seen you in millenia, but we remember your aura... |
| Revlis_Nogard12-17-06, 10:59 PM | Revlis blinks out of existence for a moment. With a quick flash, he is in front of Caben, the two now locked in a stare. The two are close enough to feel each other's breath. OOC: Well, they would be if either of them breathed...BIC: I don't blame you...it has been a few millenia. But today, I will finally make up for what I couldn't do back then! Revlis opens his mouth. Pure, unbelievably hot steam pours from it directly at Caben. |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-17-06, 11:15 PM | Caben Duur's flesh ignites, and a horrible smell fills the air. Burning vegatation, charred skin, and blackened bone flake off of his body, coating the ground in a fine ash. The enveloping cloak burns away in a cloud of greasy smoke, and Caben Duur's new form becomes visible at last. It was once human, or something like it...but any semblance to such a creature is long gone. A long, feral head snakes out of a powerful neck, its mouth a mass of fangs and bloody pulp. Its body is lithe, supple, and powerful, covered in spikes of bone, sticking out of raw wounds in the exposed flesh. Thorny vines punch though its flesh, waving menacingly in the air, and seven thicker vines, seemingly covered in veins, emerge from its spiked back, oozing blood from their numerous thorny growths. Its multi-jointed hands end in razor sharp claws of bone, and its long arms almost reach the ground as it lopes foward. Blood, pus, and other unknown fluids coat the monstrosity, seeping out of open sores and wounds to numerous to count. Its eyes are shut fast, crusted over with old blood. Spitting broken teeth and blood, Caben Duur speaks, its voice gutteral and horrible. And what couldn't you do then? What did we do to provoke your wrath? Remind us. We want to know. Whatever it was, this time is much worse. This time, the universe is doomed. For... The crusted eyelids snap open, shedding clotted blood and slime. Caben Duur raises its hideous head. The creature's eyes are merely dark, bottomless holes, absorbing all light. ...Orthos is dead. And Revlis is caught in the gaze...he can see oblivion, and it stares back at him. Caben Duur speaks the truth. If he is not stopped, all of creation is... ...over. |
| Revlis_Nogard12-17-06, 11:21 PM | My gods...Orthos...no...you couldn't have...why didn't you...my gods... Revlis pulls himself together, if only to again stare at the twisted form of his dead comrade. Caben, I was there during your inprisonment. But I was going to kill you. But I couldn't. There was something stopping me. Mercy. I couldn't kill you because I once respected all life...including your twisted version of it. You would be dead if I was willing to allow it. But I don't have that mercy for you anymore. The second the last of those words leave Revlis's mouth, his hair begins to fade to gray, and his face on beings to age. It no longer regresses. |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-17-06, 11:29 PM | Caben Duur advances slowly, threateningly. Its voice is a deadly laugh, a funeral dirge. You could not have killed us, fool! Orthos could not even accomplish that. And he was powerful...nothing was stronger than him when he imprisoned us...and few thing were stronger than him when we slew him. And now his spirit has joined us...and soon, your's too will. Caben Duur reaches out a grisly hand, forcing it slowly into Revlis's chest. The vines on the moster's back lash out, grabbing Revlis and pulling him closer to Caben Duur...closer to his untimely demise. |
| Revlis_Nogard12-17-06, 11:32 PM | Revlis screams at the top of his....uh, would-be lungs. A huge cataclysm of fire extends from him, raising the ambient air tempurature to barely survivable heights. As the vines and hand exit Revlis's person, Revlis gets more and more tired. Once the explosion is finished, Revlis has seemingly aged 50 years in mintues. |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-17-06, 11:44 PM | Caben Duur is thrown backwards by the explosion, landing cat-like on all fours, before launching itself forward once again. It spins around in mid-air, landing crouched on Revlis's chest, knocking the man down. Caben Duur stares down at its victim, bloody spittle dripping from its mangled mouth. Impressive...your spirit is strong. You will be... ...delicious. Slowly, almost lovingly, Caben Duur twists its head sideways, opening its mouth. It quietly licks the bloody pus from its ruined teeth, and then strikes. The mighty jaws sycthe closed, trapping Revlis's neck between them. Something within the man's body cracks, and blood fountains up in a bright crimson geyser. |
| Revlis_Nogard12-17-06, 11:49 PM | Revlis would scream if he could...the pain is unbearable. However, Revlis is resiliant, and summons some of his strength to lift Caben's body up, the jaws still attached, and rise. A tremendous hail of lightning fails and crashes into Caben, as Revlis seems completely unaffected. |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-18-06, 12:15 AM | Caben Duur spasms briefly as the lightning courses through its ruined body, and its grip on Revlis's neck slips. The man falls to the ground like a rag doll, and Caben Duur slides towards him, creeping across the blood-soaked ground. Reaching the prone for of Revlis Nogard, the abomination kneels down beside him. You see? Nothing came of your struggling. It was all in vain. You simply die before everything else. Enjoy oblivion. With that, Caben Duur stands up once more, lifting up Revlis's body. Throwing the limp figure into the air, Caben Duur raises its arms and smiles grimly. Streams of dark mist pour from its open wounds, mixing with blood and pus. Dark and twisted forms of tormented spirits take shape in the smog, spiraling upwards to engulf Revlis, holding him still in the air. Nothing moves. Then, slowly, Caben Duur rises off the ground, borne aloft by the spirits' rage. He reaches out, and his obsidian daggers solidify out of the mist, black blades emblazoned with veins of living blood. Quickly and skillfully Caben Duur skins the fallen shapechanger, throwing the skin over its shoulder like some trophy of war. Then it looks appraisingly at the bleeding, tattered, ruined body before it, and raises its daggers once more. Caben Duur slashes downward with both blades, ripping open Revlis's chest and exposing his beating heart. A strange and sinister chant fills the air; the spirits are singing. The mournful dirge rises to a terrible, demonic crescendo as Caben Duur leans forward and pulls out Revlis's heart. Turning it over in its hand, it watches it beat, once....twice....and then lie forever still. Caben Duur raises the bloody organ above its head, allowing the warm blood to flow down into its open mouth. Then it casts the heart aside, where it is ripped to pieces by the cloud of spirits. And then it notices something impossible...Revlis Nogard is still....alive... |
| Revlis_Nogard12-18-06, 12:40 AM | OOC: THis is gonna be a long one, folks. And have a box of tissues handy...:weep:  The cruel, twisted, horrid remnants of Revlis Nogard still stand. In the darkest, deepest depths of Caben Duur's mind, a single voice overpowers all thoughts. The flesh is weak...but the spirit is willing... The body lurches forwards and makes one final, desparate lunge at Caben Duur. The blade flashes briefly and once again finds its home in Caben Duur's chest, but Revlis' body finally slumps to the floor, it's eons of struggles finally over. Caben Duur can only let out a laugh of pure, malevolent evil as he witnesses his foe fall to the groud. The voice, however, remains. I told you, Caben....I don't care what happens to me...so long as I know you are gone from this universe, then I too will leave happily. The blade embedded in Caben's chest begins to glow a pale green light. It glows brighter and brighter until it is a perfect light, like the purest sun from the highest heaven. The wooden blade...begins to grow. Outward, around Caben. Growing at an unbelievable fast rate. Caben is swept up in the growth as the sword takes root in the ground and rockets towards the sky. Within moments, a huge, perfect, however out of place tree is in the middle of Sorcen's arena, it's highest point groaning as its expansion is stopped by the shield surrounding the arena. Within the massive plant, Caben Duur is suspended by a tangle of webbed vines, his body looking as if being crucified by the will of Revlis Nogard. The spectators and combatants can only look in awe at the tree that has arrived in Sorcen's Baator, although none know it's meaning. Suddenly the voice returns. Well, Caben, this is it for both of us. Say your good byes, and I'll say mine... Gideon, I was saving this one for you, except not nearly as bad. Although, I don't think I'll ever see you again. Mika, I'm sorry I couldn't hold you one more time...maybe I'll see you on the other side. The voice sighs and makes one more addition. Everyone...brace yourselves...please. Suddenly, the tree bursts into flames. It is nothing short of a supernova on the very plane. A cataclysm of fire mixed with a calamity of force erupts from the tree as shockwave after shockwave follows the initial blast. The temperature is now unbearable; even the mightiest gold dragon would die from the pure conflagration that is occuring. Then the unthinkable happens. A horrendous CRACK can be heard all over the plane as the shield of Sorcen's arena is ripped open. The excess energy from the eruption rushes skyward, out of the arena and to the surrounding area. The shaking can be felt in the farthest regions of the plane, and the sound of the earth being ripped asunder can be heard for miles. The survivors of this horrific blast have seen what few people have seen...the amount of power released when a soul is destroyed. |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-18-06, 12:53 AM | As the flames die down, and the survivors recover their senses, a figure strides out of the settling smoke. A figure, engulfed in flames, burning not with the flames of Revlis's dying soul, but with the black flames of nightmares. The figure looks around at the other combatants pulling their charred bodies off the arena floor and laughs terribly, a cold laugh, cold enough to freeze hell itself. Its voice rings out malovently, filled with a terrible, hideous glee. And filled with power... Say our goodbyes? Well then...farewell, Revlis Nogard. Revlis's dying soul has woken the hordes of dead...Revlis is gone, but the spirits are not. They are enraged at the destruction of one of their own. And the universe trembles. One down...three more must die...and then... For Caben Duur has survived. ...existance. OOC: Revlis...that was brilliant! |
| Steropes12-18-06, 01:57 AM | Lightning strikes Caben Duur from the sky. A voice speaks:"Caben Duur, I've come to stop this chaos for once and for all." |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-18-06, 02:00 AM | Caben Duur looks upward, unfazed by the lightning now crackling about its body. Another little insect to be crushed under our heel? So be it. |
| Steropes12-18-06, 02:08 AM | "Ah, but I'm not here to bee crushed with your heel. I'm here to wace you, and that is the reason why I've used power that is forbidden:I've cast Karsus Avaltar! But I don't exept you have read history of Toril so I'll explain:The KA, as I'm calling it, places the caster in to position of any god. Permanently." As Steropes speaks he grows size to mach Caben Duurs. "And if you know my history, I already were a minor god." |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-18-06, 02:14 AM | Caben Duur sneers at the newcomer, blood dripping from its jutting fangs. It rotates its head around, cracking its neck, and advances, claws held ready at its sides. Whoever you are, you are no match for us. Revlis Nogard is dead. Orthos is dead. You are but a minor obstacle, god or no. |
| Steropes12-18-06, 02:26 AM | OOC:Sorry, I'm afraid that languages are not my cup of tea. Don't worry, I won't kill him. Just hurt. Sorry, I had to leave. BIC:"Well shall we begin? I'm starting to think that the only way to prove that I'm more than snowflake in winter is with battle." Steropes waves his cloack and the sky turns dark, as night sky, but with out stars. There is anyway something in there: the eyes. |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-18-06, 02:27 AM | ------hmm....he left...------ |
| Lord_Gareth12-18-06, 04:07 AM | ((1. Kyle's weapons can't rust. It's literally impossible, even with magic. 2. You haven't slowed him much. Faith is his speed :D)) Kyle staggers up from the explosion, wounds already sealing over. The massive release of energy destroyed the spell on him, but not before accelerating him a few years. Kyle Killigan is a changed man. Yet he levels his gaze at the Order in defiance. "I've...neve'...done...nothin'...ta ya. Why...do..ya..insis' on doin' this?" |
| Khael12-18-06, 04:39 AM | As the wash of the soul blast passes, the metal and bone construct goes to work, the bone inlays igniting with flame, as it launches itself at Caben... |
| cog_n_taz12-18-06, 08:13 AM | ((disclaimer: this is long, go get some popcorn first.)) The Order seems to evade Caben's blow at the last moment, but is then torn apart by the soul blast ((soo... no ressurection for revlis?)) Gray mist seems to obscure the views of the combatants and envelops them. Soon, they find themselves in a prison. The walls and corridors are made of clean-cut gray stone, there are no torches or furnishings, though there seems to be light. Cells line the walls in each direction, seemingly inescapable. It is at such a crossroad in the infinite corridors that Steropes, the fighters stand.... except for The Order, which is nowhere to be seen. " you have asked us of the nature of The Order, and We shall tell you, Vengeful Blood. Long ago, before the dawn of time, there were three things: Order, Chaos, and The Void. In the Void there was nothing, and so there was no opportunity for Chaos to rise. Soon, though, the first of existence was born into the world. It brought with it the most terrible of things: individuality, and by extension, Chaos. Soon, Life had multiplied, and the world had collapsed into Chaos, the fools living in it thought nothing of it! After all... they are but mortals, like foolish little Kyle Killigan who tries so hard to aid you... This was when We, the order, were spurred into action. Have you ever heard of the cataclysm? Over nine tenths of the world's life had perished on that day...that was Our doing, it was the only way, it was necessary. Soon, however, things became worse beyond anything We could have imagined. The spirits of the slain Lives had become demons and slaadi, creatures of pure Chaos! In all this, though, there was hope. The devils were also born, creatures of, among other things, Order, however imperfect. We allied with them and routed the demons and Slaadi, that was known as the Blood war. When the war ended, We created the Modrons to help destroy what was left of the devils, demons and Slaadi. They were to be pure perfection, our essence, Order personified… but they were flawed. They call themselves absolute order, but they lie! They think of themselves as individuals, and that is a sure sign that it is only a matter of time before they were turned to Chaos. We set out to destroy them too, alone, and we would have succeeded, bringing utter Order to the world at last… had it not been for the interference of a single force... who undid all of our work of the ages... do you remember now, Caben Duur? Thus it was that you, Caben Duur, were declared the first and greatest enemy of the Order, but We did not set out to destroy you. Instead, We bided Our time... and waited, waited for the perfect moment to end you. We saw our chance after your battles here, you were weakened, if only slightly. We came here with utmost speed, but We were too late… someone had persuaded Caben Duur, greatest enemy of The Order, to leave! We could not find you, till you had destroyed Orthos, but by then it was too late.. Now do you know, Vengeful Blood, who had Rescued you from certain Annullment? Who had delayed your destruction, who has defiled The Order by aiding you, who has slain Orthos, who has, in your maddened state, drawn you back to the arena, who, by doing this, threatens to unmake The Order, and with it, the entire universe, leaving only Chaos behind?! Yes, Kyle Killigan, ‘tis you. Now, at the hands of The Order and its greatest servant, the third force, Entropy, you shall be ANNULLED. At this, great roiling spheres of darkness and Entropy begin to roll across the corridors towards the two, closing in on them from all directions. You hear the voice of The Order again, a soft, satisfied voice. “at last, Our work is complete…” ((soo… what do you think? Personally, regardless of quality compared to stuff other people write, I think it’s my personal best yet Also, nice work revlis. Also, if this guy comes across as LE, you’re wrong, he is absolute LN, he may seem evil, however, simply because he just doesn’t care )) |
| RichardVauldigar112-18-06, 09:40 AM | OOC: The young naive kid from the tavern comes and looks at Caben Duur. IC: Instead of fighting we should all be celebrating my good people!! Merry Christmas!!(as the kid then chugs another drink down, yeah he's drunk) |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-18-06, 10:03 PM | OOC: Richard...if you have nothing to add, please stay out. BIC: Caben Duur grabs the construct as it rushes forward, lifting it up as it it weighed nothing. The abomination swings its burden around in a whirling arch, until the metal and bone blur in the air. Finally, the construct is released, its momentum carrying it straight though the stone walls of the prison, crashing it into the drunken youth... ...and finally slamming both construct and child directly into the spheres of raw chaos, which engulfs them instantly. Then Caben Duur raises its head, its eyes reflecting the utter nothingness waiting at the end of existance. The entropic rifts spark and die, only the blackened shell of the golem and then smoking, twisted body of the foolish child. You are mistaken, creature. The Void was always the strongest of the powers, and Orthos alone held it back. Now we wield it... Your work is not complete. You are delusional. This order you speak of can never happen, except when all life, all thought, all creation is dead. Then there will be a perfect calm. Until then, never. So we are helping your achieve your goal. OOC:Khael...i just wanted you to know that the golem isn't necessarily dead... |
| Sorcen_Anenooata12-18-06, 10:53 PM | OOC: Sorry I hadnt found the time to check out this thread thoroughly and didnt notice I was challenged. Sorcen doesnt see a point in this small battle and will sit it out, theres few occasions he will actually fight. To chase a god from his realm or to spar with another godlike being for the purposes of some treaty would be some occasions that call for it though. Also I have not yet had time to read this thread in its entirety so forgive me if something is wrong in this post, I'll read through it and edit it later. :OOC BIC: Sorcen sips from his wine glass and watches the happenings below with a smile, "Your words wont sway me to rash and foolish action friend. I see you've slain a god, congratulations on such a display of power and such a boost to your own power. But you see my friend, your threats are in vain as you are not yet strong enough to harm any of we judges, perhaps if you can defeat all of these combatants and my good friend LeVeldrin the Somniscient, then you will stand a chance against us. I fear LeVeldrin may be too much for you though, I sent him a messege and he should be along shortly." He communes telepathically so that all of the arena inhabitants may hear these words. |
| cog_n_taz12-19-06, 07:56 AM | ((clarification: when I say entropy, I mean sphere of annihilation kind of entropy, not chaos.)) "Wield the void? Hardly, you merely control part of it, but in the end, it shall consume you. And as for aiding Us, do not thing that We will be deceived so easily... the universe need not be destroyed for Order to prevail... it merely needs no Life, save The Order and our essence, what the Modrons were meant to be. Besides, if you destroy creation, you shall take Us with it, and only you shall survive, a creature of Chaos. Thus it is, Caben Duur, that you must be destroyed, for your nature and your deeds..." the same voice arrives in Sorcen's mind: "fool! Are you so presumptious as to think that Caben Duur cannot overcome you and your petty friends? Or indeed that I, and the forces I command, cannot eventually destroy you, as with the Blood war?"((IC only, I don't mean it...okay? Please? )) The Order then appears in one of the many corridors. "very well, you shall be spared for the moment Caben Duur, We shall dispose of Kyle killigan first." An orb, somewhat akin to a snow globe, appears in its hands. In it is an image of a sphere, blue, green and white, with what seem to be clouds in some parts. "Do you know what this is, mortal? It shall be your doom, your death, and your Annulment, Our servant, your sentence and your END. It was a world, much " It muses, "Like your own, petty world, filled with chaos." With that, his opponent crushes it, and in its place a small. swirling black sphere of pure black matter, cold and deadly. As it hurtles towards Kyle, he hears the most horrible sentence of his life, ringing through his mind as if spoken simultaneously by a thousand voices. "Kyle Killigan, this was your life." ((not an auto-hit, auto-kill or anything, obviously, just bad news, wafflestomp, if you will:) )) |
| Khael12-19-06, 08:46 AM | OOC: The spheres they hit were 'of annihilation'? So they were 'destroyed' and sent to the void? Heh... BIC: The Golem raises it's head, as the damage done reknits, leaving the construct as if unharmed... Right before from the dying sphere, a screaming ghost-thing stretches out lifting up the construct and pulling it into the dying hole... Immediately similar ghost-forms reach out of the other spheres, all kinds of forms and races, each with snarling expressions of rage and pain... |
| cog_n_taz12-19-06, 08:54 AM | ((of a similar substance, anyway. Don't ask how Caben destroyed them, probably with his usual nuclear Oomph:P)) |
| Sorcen_Anenooata12-19-06, 10:47 AM | OOC: Ok I read it all, finally. This battle is awesome so far, I hope I dont ruin it any. :OOC BIC: Sorcen ignores the Order's comments, "Ah there he is." Suddenly the winds swirl the dirt on the arena floor into a small tornado, the winds die down suddenly and forcefully. The tornado leaves behind a man dressed in flowing white pants and a fluffy white sleeveless shirt, he is tall and skinny and has golden hair, his skin seems to be made of sand and gleems in the light. He regards the walls and corridors and seems to stare right at the combatants inside even though they are on the other side of many stone walls, he speaks in a surprisingly smooth voice, "I am LeVeldrin the Somniscient, I am here via Sorcen's summonings to do battle in his stead. I have been waiting for a chance to fight for quite some time now so I must thank you all for this opportunity. Now let us get down to business." His gaze never wavers from the beings inside the walls, he then begins to run and slams into the first wall, he seems to fade right through it as if there were a doorway there. He continues his run until he meets the combatants and then promptly disappears before he engages with Caben Durr. |
| RichardVauldigar112-19-06, 10:52 AM | OOC: As the kid was annilated wind starts to form and balls of light start to swirl as the kid pops back into the battlefield unharmed in anyway. IC: Ow.... you know that really hurt that attack could have killed somebody! I will have to teach you a lesson about manners. OOC: The kid moves back and forth with a tired looking face as you can see after images go out from the kid as the images become real they all charge you.(there is about 20 or so of them) |
| Lord_Gareth12-19-06, 07:38 PM | ((I'm sorry Cog, but you have inadvertantly made a Primal. And now I have to involve Chaos in this.)) Kyle looks in horror as the sphere flies towards him, unable to move for the sickening fear that consumes him. The attack reaches him without incident... And shatters against an unseen barrier. Unavoidably, your eyes are drawn to one spot, as though a force is dragging your head. Something is standing there, shifting through infinite forms in an impossibly small amount to time. Your mind groans under the strain of trying to process all the images, until it settles on one; a dusty, brown-clad human, with a grim smile and no evident weaponry. "Order, you've rubbed your nose in it now. I was all set to leave you be, and let by-gones be by-gones, and then you have to mess with some of my two favorite creations. Kyle's a spark of fun 'roundabout Arboria, where I've got a few friends, and Caben here..well, he's almost as old as we are. Now you've forced a confrontation, and that has made me...angry." Chaos rips his hand through the wall, and a multicolored portal appears as a gash, sending pure chaos surging through the area, demolishing the perfect order. "Now, we can do this civilised, or we can do this violent." |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-19-06, 07:38 PM | OOC: Wow...the stakes just rose quite high. Another Primal has joined...awesome. BIC: As the spirits of the dead rush to the Golem, Caben Duur raises a hand. The ghosts turn, and expressions of fear and despair cross their translucent features. Then, slowly, inextoriably, they are drawn in, absorbed by the essence of Caben Duur. The abomination smiles grimly, arms raised, as the power of the dead flows through him. No. Not today. These are MINE! Caben Duur moves in a blur of red, spraying a trail of blood droplets behind it as it counter-charges. Caben Duur grips its daggers tighter, and then, slashing its own wrists, throws the daggers wide. They trail bloody ichor, whipping around Caben Duur with impossible speed. As the charging children close in, the gory strands flash pure black, the substance of nothingness. Caben Duur moves its hands in wild circles, and the daggers follow their lead, slashing into the ranks of attackers and splitting them in two. Those slain collapse, bleeding from multiple wounds, some sawed clear in two. Then, retracting the obsidian blades, Caben Duur turns to the judge's stand. Its voice is deep, mocking, and contains a statement of the inevitable. Fine...all you are capable of doing is hoping your champion is sufficient. We expected as much. Hide from us. Flee. For when this is over... We will end you. OOC: Sorry to write so much, but I've got a lot to respond to. And Cog n Taz...do you read Terry Pratchett? Because "Kyle Killigan, this was your life." sounds a lot like... "Windle Poons, that was your life." And I'm having trouble deciding...I will end this thread on either Christmas Day or New Years day. Cog n taz and Lord Gareth...which work best for you two? Since I'd like your help with setting up and ending. I've sent PMs to each of you. |
| Larz_Fang12-20-06, 04:29 AM | Suddenly, everyone's eyes are locked into one place, as in a flash of bright blue light a man wearing purple-green robes appears. His face is half-covered by a hood. "This battle is breaking the balance of multiverse and it must be ended. Today I, Thelron the Knowledgeable and the rest of the Robed Mages shall take part in this battle. The one known as Caben Duur shall be either arrested or destroyed. No mercy, my brethren! Attack!" And so several figures (about 13 or 14) dressed in brown robes appear and each start casting spells against Caben Duur and his any allies. Some use delayed blast fireballs while some cast chain lightnings or disintegrations. |
| Khael12-20-06, 04:31 AM | The golem grips onto the edge of the hole, as Caben trys to draw the spirits, but the ghosts turn and draw back into their 'holes' as another sound can be heard from within: A scream of rage and vengence that drowns out the others, as great black tendrils force though the sphere-holes, ripping them larger, even as the golem pulls itself out and rolls away from the encoming thing... OOC: Who ever said what about happens on another forum...I've brought one or two of those results along... Meet Karathma and it's legion of consumed spirits and vestiges... |
| cog_n_taz12-20-06, 04:55 AM | ((this is getting to be too many combatants, gideon, whack some:P. Gideon, I replied to your PM. Gareth, a primal is the last thing I wanted it to be... :weep: . Also, I do read terry pratchett, but that line was not stolen. The outfit for The Order though, was inspired by the auditors.)) "Chaos... it's been a long time, perhaps too long. Do not worry of boring yourself, We shall end you, and these others soon enough......" Time seems to slow, the prison disappears as Chaos interferes, and The Order reaches out... "Chaos, they say an action is better than a thousand words... well than, you shall have action. The spells fly towards its outstretched, perfect palm and merge into a black orb... "It is a shame, if you had not interfered, mortals, you would have been spared, none start as Our enemy, save Chaos." The orb forms a blade, swinging at the head of the nearest wizard... "But now, alas, you shall be Unmade. Remember in your last moments, it is through no fault but your own..." the blade flies through the neck of the mage, and it begins to disappear...((I figured you have many, so one auto-death would be alright, hope you don't mind..)) "And now, none shall remember you in your death, save Us, for you have never been..." As the mage fades from the view of the combatants, so too does his memory fade from their mids. After all, he was only a dream, an imagined figure... he never existed in the first place, did he now? No, ofcourse not... The Order than swirls around to face Chaos, Caben Duur, Kyle killigan, and the golem. Its cloak whips about and billows impressively behind it. "Do not feel so relieved, my dear friends... I won't keep you waiting, you're next, all of you..." |
| Khael12-20-06, 05:10 AM | OOC: Regardless, if it personifies (or however it should be for a group organism) pure Order, it is basicially a Primal. Or if it isn't Order (the Order Primal of that multiverse anyway) will hammer it for stealing it's 'thing'... BIC: The Golem comes out of its roll, two long bone shard extending from it's wrists, as it turns to face whatever's coming out of the void, which continues to draw itself forth, the spheres stretching and explanding to join together, as huge spikes start to whip out, sinking themselves in the ground. |
| cog_n_taz12-20-06, 08:20 AM | The Order whips out an arm at the golem, and the bones begin to crack. "Ah, a volunteer. Very well, you shall be Annulled first..." The Order swings the Blade of Unmaking at the golem, and time freezes. When the flow of time returns with a jolt, the blade has reached the other side of the golem, apparently skipping the space in between, though there is still a wound there. The parts of the golem's body that surround the wound begin to fade... then again, maybe they never existed at all, save in its mind. "You know, there is a wonderful side effect to Unmaking.. it is so potent that sometimes, even the one struck with such a blade will think that they never existed... as you soon will. |
| Khael12-20-06, 12:10 PM | As the blade passes though, the construct runs itself up along the blade, and grabs The order in one burning fist. |
| cog_n_taz12-20-06, 10:28 PM | ((err.... ze blade is incorporeal... oh well...)) as the fist closes in on the cloaked figure, the flames seem to slow and congeal, before finally freezing entirely. The ice begins to thicken and take on a weight not unlike lead, constantly multiplying and creeping across the golem, weighing it down... |
| Lord_Gareth12-20-06, 11:33 PM | "Order, you are such apredictable little prat. You know full well that we draw on each other's power to manifest, and yet you still want to end me. How stupid are you?" He waves his hand idly, still standing at ease, and anything remotely ordered begins to unravel. You can feel your essence fight against being sucked into pure Chaos, but the attack is not directed at you. Order, however, can feel it, can feel Chaos trying to impose his Aspect upon him. "Whatever would you do with a little extra whimsy, Order? Have an original thought? Or maybe grow a brain cell to keep the lonely one in your skull company? Honestly, what did you expect, coming here?" He concentrates, and the fabric of reality streatches thin. You can feel the multiverse around you lengthening, a hair's breadth from snapping in two and plunging an entire existence into pure Chaos. "You know how powerful I can be, Order. Do you want to take that gamble?" |
| cog_n_taz12-20-06, 11:50 PM | ((yeah... well, if alignments are relative, paladins and BBEGs are every bit as stupid...wait a minute.. say, is my character really that bad?)) "A gamble? Hardly, We already know the outcome, Chaos." The Order rushes towards Chaos, making calculated swings at it, and finally crushing its blade back into its original sphere-like state, hurling it at Chaos. "Do you truly think that We will die with you? Quite unlikely, and even if this were the case, you would be gone, and there are those who would take after Us." Reality seems to go into a stasis, growing no better, but atleast not slipping further towards chaos. |
| Khael12-21-06, 08:04 AM | But the mass coming out of the holes, continues to pour forth, as the black skipes pull though an immense black clawed paw-foot-hand-thing, and the hole in reality tears upwards. OOC: You may have frozen this reality, but 'This' is from outside. It's not a part of that reality... And if The Order aren't a part of that reality either, it/they can't affect something like this with normal moves...well normal by they're apparent standard |
| Lord_Gareth12-21-06, 09:15 AM | ((If I remember correctly, the Far Realms have a strong Chaos alignment, no?)) Chaos sneers at his opponent, and again your mind is assailed by an infinite number of images as he shifts shape yet again. Plucking one from the many, he now appears as a very large gnoll, holding a halberd and wearing half-plate. His next words pain your ears to hear, as he speaks with all the voices that ever were, are, or could be, each syllable belonging to someone else. "So domineering, Order. If the two of us are unable to manifest, then neither of our Aspects exist. The multiverse, the creation we all worked so hard on, would cease to exist in its entirety. I don't know about you, but I think Good would be a tad miffed at that point, and so would Evil. They might be able to bring us back, sure, but then they'd spend an eternity punishing us for our stupidity. They're stronger than we are, Order, and you know it. Only at the greatest extremities of Chaos can I even hope to challenge them." He glares at his opponent. "You wouldn't have the slightest prayer." Chaos lets go of the halberd, which floats around him in a circle, and points one hand at Order. "You've been blind, Order, blind to the truth. We can't destroy each other; too much would come with us. It's foolish to try and eradicate me from the multiverse, let alone all the Primals that are aligned with my Aspect, and the few Ascetics that are as well. You can't face me alone, not with Chance against you, and you certainly can't face all of us. We can still end this peacefully. Go away, leave this battle to mortals, and I will leave as well. I know you can't lie, Order. Too much against your Aspect." ((And Cog, you have to remember that Chaos is the master of unpredictability, change, and fluidity. Order, over the milennia, has likely not changed at all. Chaos knows it, and thus his perception of Order is colored by it.)) |
| Sorcen_Anenooata12-21-06, 10:25 AM | LeVeldrin reappears high above Caben Durr and the rest of teh combatants. He calls down to Caben, "It seems you have your hands full Caben Durr, I'll wait up here until I feel I'm needed down there, or if you provoke me to an attack." He crosses his arms and hovers overhead at an angle so as to see the battle below him. OOC: I figured I'd go ahead and archive this here since I was cleaning up the Ic threads and archiving everything in there. :OOC The audience notices a grey robed figure in the corner of the arena area. It cannot have been there earlier, yet it feels as if it was always there, and always will be. There seems to be something within the robe, and swirling shadows and darkness inside hint that there may be, but the image presented is never the same, and sometimes, it it hard to tell is there truly is something in there at all. It glides over to sorcen, and speaks in a dull, toneless voice. "we have come for he who is known as kyle killigan.". The apparition gives no further explanation, but simply waits. Sorcen regards the new robed figure with interest, "Mr. Killigan is currently in a match against Nobunaga. I'm sure he wont be much longer there. Mr. Killigan has just finished his match, you should probably check the tavern." EDIT: OOC: I just realized the Nobunaga vs Kyle match is over. Sorry for missing that. (('s taking centuries for LG to show up, time to pick a fight with Caben Duur)) The apparition notices the Loathsome figure of Caben Duur in the arena, and moves towards it. "Caben Duur, Kyle Killigan is our quarry, and our quarry alone. You were next, but circumstances dictate that you shall be destroyed first. Come, we will do battle now." With that, the grey robed figure floats to the arena, and Caben feels an invisible force tug at it, drawing it towards the arena. Kyle drops down in front of the robed figure, appearing without a sound or even a hint of his coming. His face is grim and serious. "Wha' quarrel ya go' wit' me? Caben an' I seem ta have something to discuss. I can' 'elp bu' think that his current sta' i' my faul' a' some poin', an' I've no time to was' wit' arrogan' fools wha' go' a death wish." His knives are in his hands, and the glare he sends at the robed figure has all the seriousness of death. You may have picked a bad time to screw with Kyle Killigan. OOC: okay...let's see if I can run two at once in the same thread... BIC: The apparation that is Caben Duur pulls its hood further over its face, obscuring all traces of its human shape, and turns toward the cloaked figure. Fool! To trifle with me is to seal you own fate. Nothing escapes me unless I choose to be merciful. And I have no mercy left in me. Now...get out of my way. This mortal is MINE! The Figure before the two is impassive, devoid of emotion, unimpressed. "Kyle, you have violated The Order, and so shall you be destroyed. This beast here has been our quarry long before you have existed... two is as one before us, it shall make no difference... Kyle Killigan, Caben Duur, As all before you who have attracted the Wrath of the Order, you too shall meet your ends." Kyle sighs heavily, sorrow etched into his face as he turns to face Caben. "Caben...wha' happen' ta ya? I though'...well, I though' somethin' else, anythin' else,, migh' 'ave 'appened. If'n yer holdin' a grudge fer this, I understan'. Jus' 'ell me wha' I ca' do ta make it up ta ya, ta help. Thi' wa' never my inten'." "You have aided this... this abomination unto the Order? Then it is all the more reason for you to be Annulled." ((Think I might've forgotten to say, on any detect spells, this thing shows up as the kind of LN that would scare a modron, badly.)) Caben Duur looms up menacingly, glaring down at the man baring his path. Fine. Then step out of our way. These beings must die for their interference. Then you will perish, at our leisure. Then a new voice is heard, so quiet only Kyle can hear it...a pleading whisper, rushed as if trying to finish before something terrible and inevitable occurs. Kyle...run. Before they awaken again...I can't hold them forever... Caben Duur's face begins to twist into a violent rage, and he steps foward agressively. RUN!!! A dragging force attempts to hold Kyle back. "You shall not escape, defiler of The Order, you are ours now, only to be Annulled..." Caben Duur pauses at the cloaked figure's woods, and suddenly freezes in a ghastly pose, struggling to fight off his darker self. Finally, after what seems like eons, he turns. Leave him ALONE! The abomination rushes foward, catching the cloaked figure a mighty blow. Caben Duur lands on his fallen foe, bony claws ripping and tearing at whatever lurks beneath the cloak. Kyle, run. Now. They're coming. I can't hold them off. If you're gone, they will choose another victim. Flee for your life! OOC: if the battle begins soon, PM me and I'll open a new thread. It's gonna be crowded...to crowded for in here. |
| cog_n_taz12-21-06, 08:56 PM | ((Khael, I hate to break it to you, but this guy basically is reality. By the way LG, I like both your characters, but you should know that neither has got a snowball's chance in hell of convincing Order, sorry.)) "Chaos, as always, you have a point somewhere in your cloud of lies. You also know, though, that our power is held back only by you... if you are Annulled, We may well have the strength to bring ourselves back from Anulment. Then, Order will not be relative, but the only force. I shall destroy good and evil if they interfere, and Order will not be the lack of Chaos, it shall be the ONLY force. " Order touches the halberd with one perfect finger, and it shatters. With it, a fraction of Chaos's being that created it is gone as well. The next voice you hear from it is tired, resigned, and... could it be? It sounds so very slightly saddened. "Besides, whatever the outcome, it must be done... it is Our Purpose, Our being. It shall not, cannot, be any other way.." ((interpret the last line as you will, but I thought it would make things more interesting. Also, whatever you might think, this guy doesn't hate Chaos. In fact, it can't. And yes, far realms are big on chaos.)) ((gideon, I think the Order VS Chaos fight may go on after Caben goes down, well... assuming he does, would that be ok?)) A black blade materializes in The Order's hand, but something seems wrong. At first it seems the blade is made of black light, but you soon realize your mistake. It is not light, not anything, it is simply Not. It is beyond void, a hole in Existence. " with this blade, finality, We shall end you.. Chaos, this is to be our final day, are you ready?" The Order then begins a sort of complicated dance around Chaos, stepping gracefully and weaving around him, constantly making slashes with finality and each time, removing a small part of Chaos's being. |
| Lord_Gareth12-21-06, 09:12 PM | "Fine then, you ignorant fool! Face my wrath!" Chaos extends his arms to the side violently, and you can feel the wave of his power rip through the air in the split second before it happens. The world seems to stop, to freeze in one perfect moment. You see Order, mid-slash. You see Kyle, still astounded. You see Caben and The Golem, and the countless others. And then you see Existence shatter. From Chaos, shards of reality break away, tearing through Existence like knives through cloth. The sound is like tinkling glass, echoing again and again as the multiverse begins to crash down upon your ears. Chaos laughs, power surging through him. Even Order's apparent efforts are nothing; Chance has swung in Chaos's favor, as it is apt to do. Another perfect moment, as time slows to a standstill. You see the jagged, gaping hole in existence, where Chaos runs rampant. You see the beings of the Far Realms flooding through, eager for this unprecedented entrance into the worlds of mortals. You see Caben Duur, half-gone into the not-void. You see the Golem. You see Kyle, leaping away from his impending death. And then you see Chaos stop laughing, the power surging through him slow, and then halt, until he looks once more like a gnoll. His face is crestfallen, dissapointed, as if that height of power was his greatest toy, and his mother took it away. Order is at the edge of this teetering not-abyss, the nonreality that somehow exists. He knows that this infinite paradox could well wipe him from existence, should he but touch it. "I really must thank whoever opened the gate to the Far Realms. I can still feel the power flowing to me from there. Now, Order, since you were kind enough to introduce me to your weapon, let me introduce you to mine." His hand goes out, and snags something that isn't there. As your eyes focus, your mind reels as it experiences the same shapeshifting effect of Chaos himself. Finally, it settles, showing you a long, flintlock rifle. "Meet the Chaos Dagger." |
| cog_n_taz12-21-06, 09:40 PM | "We already have, and besides, it didn't help you much back then, did it now? But that is too embarassing to remember, isn't it? Well... this is it, then..." The Order moves away from the portal, and tries to close it through willpower alone. Seeing that this is a futile exercise, it begins a complicated gesture with its hands, and the creatures begin to draw closer to each other, before finally being crushed into a sphere that flies towards its outstretched palm. "These, Chaos, are facets of yourself, beings of pure chaos and nothing more, worse even than the Slaadi, they are part of you. They are the things that power you, and that gate. Thus it is that without them, you cannot exist... It places the sphere on the ground, raises finality((yay, I like that name!:D)), and pierces it. A terrible wailing sound fills the air, a mixture of screams, babbling and gibbering. Ever so slowly, the sphere clouds over, turning to a steely dull gray, much like the robes of The Order. Slowly, it rises to the figure's palm, which clasps it firmly. "And now, Chaos, the greatest part of your being is part of Us instead, do not pretend that it does not affect you, We know better..." The sphere splits into half, and fly from its palm. Half flies towards Chaos, and the other... towards the gate. Knowing all too well that the results could be terrible, The Order begins to float away, searching for cover. |
| Lord_Gareth12-21-06, 09:46 PM | "Idiot. You assume that they're part of me because they're Chaotic. There's more than one of Us, you know. More than one reality. These guys belong to another Chaos, who can't Manifest here because it isn't part of his Jurisdiction. You just hurt an innocent person who's part of a multiverse you can't even effect. Great job." Chaos just lets the sphere hit the not-void. It flashes through infintesimal forms, and is spat out, as a swarm of bright pink kittens with butterfly wings. He raises the rifle, and, though it shouldn't be possible, sqeezes off a dozen shots in rapid sucession, the echo ringing through your mind and soul, yet not through your ears. The projectiles flash through many forms, streaking towards The Order as a thousand thousand different things. "Come on, you can do better than that. Just think. We have enough of each other do do some things. I have a personality because You are a part of me. Likewise, You have the capability of thought, reason, and movement because You have a part of me. Use it! Think! Plan! Do something that I won't expect!" |
| cog_n_taz12-21-06, 09:58 PM | ((you know, I worked on that post:weep: Ah well...)) When the shots arrive where The Order should have been, it is nowhere to be seen... the shots streak off into the distance, missing entirely. Then, suddenly, The order bashes Chaos over its head from behind, Grabs the Chaos dagger, And shoots finality at Chaos through it. It realizes the cost of staying in Chaos's domain... all too painfully as its existence begins to unravel. Slowly, the weapons of Order and Chaos meet... looking closely, you see tendrils rushing out of each weapon as they seem to merge, before the meeting of the opposite forces turn to a rapidly expanding mass of white light... spreading out, incinerating the combat field. When the smoke clears, Order stands, its weapon gone with the Chaos dagger. A triumphant voice rings out over the arena. "But ofcourse, it's your call, just this once... remember, you asked for it, Chaos." ((whew, look who's slipping!)) |
| Lord_Gareth12-21-06, 10:05 PM | ((You know Chaos is in the middle of his own void, right? He can step into it, because it's part of his Aspect, but Order would have a harder time of things)) |
| cog_n_taz12-21-06, 10:07 PM | ((I kinda missed that, will edit)) |
| Lord_Gareth12-21-06, 10:09 PM | ((Sorry if I didn't make that clear, the attack was centered on him. What's really funny is Chaos doesn't want to win; he knows what will happen. He wants to get Order to not be as homocidal. Since he's manifested, Chaos's personality has been changed by contact with mortals, and he's been chatting with Good and Evil. He knows that destroying Order is officially a Very Bad Plan.)) |
| cog_n_taz12-21-06, 10:10 PM | It realizes the cost of staying in Chaos's domain... all too painfully as its existence begins to unravel. Also, when the explosion happens, it gets out of there ASAP. It took me a while to plan that move, so I rather I didn't have to scrap it. It'll be weakened quite a bit though, not that it'll show it. EDIT: what do you mean? Centered on who? What attack? Oh, and I do get it that he doesn't want to win, but plan A isn't going to work... not yet, anyway. |
| Lord_Gareth12-21-06, 10:16 PM | ((Chaos centered his Domain on himself)) "Alright Order. Let's do this on even terms." Chaos leaps out of his domain, but something is wrong. It's like he's shifting again, but every new form splits off from him. Soon, the entire Arena is filled, as every being who is, was, or will be, stands before you. In a single voice that drowns out sound, they laugh. "Let's see ya face all of us, Order!" ((Here's how this works; each form is exactly as powerful as it was, is, or will be. But, Chaos has not Manifested any Primals. So, each of them can be killed. However, he has the powers of everyone else. Of course, collateral damage from his own attacks will get rid of some forms)) In a chaotic mass, attacks start hurling themselves at Order from the horde, as fists, feet, weapons, arrows, bullets, missles, magic, psionics, and every concievable kind of assault goes towards Chaos's eternal foe. Though his forms around Order die most horribly, the barrage doesn't cease. |
| cog_n_taz12-21-06, 10:36 PM | ((okay, glad that's finally cleared up)) Time, yet again, seems to slow as the barrage surges towards The Order. Soon, they close in, and in a blinding flash of light, The Order falls to the ground, erupting into grayish white flames. It is then that Chaos hears it. A thousand voices ring out in his mind.. chanting."do you not understand yet, Chaos? We are eternal, We cannot die! Even when the world withers and collapses, We shall still be here. There is no way you can win, Chaos...". The voices then sigh, and continues in a quieter tone. "yet... We fear the same is true for you.. tell me chaos, is there any point to this battle? Will anything ever come of it, for either of us? Yet... what else is there to do? This is Our purpose, Our very being, there can be no other way, ofcourse... but, if only there was some other way... no, ofcourse not, why do We seek your lies? There is only one way, and it is the way that things have always been! We must drive these thoughts from Our mind, and yet... " The flaming robes vanish, and in their place are many copies of The Order, surrounding and slowly destroying Chaos's army. Yet, you sense that something is wrong... could it be? No, ofcourse not... but the eyes do not lie, the forms are... different. ((gotta go, sorry!)) |
| Lord_Gareth12-21-06, 10:51 PM | "Order," the voices cry, drowning all other sounds in their discordant harmony, "There is no point, other than letting the mortals settle their own business. There's no point in either of us meddling. We're just here to make sure no one does something stupid and unravels existence as we know it. Of course, if we kill each other, then we're the stupid ones. The Almighty gave us brains for a reason. Use yours!" |
| cog_n_taz12-22-06, 12:14 AM | ((guess Chaos can't tell the difference, eh?)) A voice emanates from the forms of The Order, yet they are not quite one voice, each one is very slightly different, and the overall effect is rather disconcerting. "NO. You shall not sway Us with your words, never! This is the way that the world is, and should be, it should not change." The shadow figures slowly cut through the enemy ranks, closing in ever so slightly, yet constantly, on the real Chaos. |
| Lord_Gareth12-22-06, 12:22 AM | ((There is no Real Chaos. Chaos IS the forms right now. And there's WAAAAAAAAY too many to kill at speed.)) "Let me show you something, Order, before you kill off all Our spellcasters." An image appears above the ranks of The Order, of a young, dark haired boy in a forest. He wears shining gold plate mail and holds two dark knives. "Valor Killraven, an Ascetic. He dedicated himself to being a Paladin. He fights for You, Order. He fights for You and Good. Countless others like him, on countless worlds, fight and die in Your name. Samaruai go to battle with the honor in their hearts, adhering to You as closely as possible. Monks of all types and creeds dedicate themselves to You for enlightenment. Millions of mortals, and countless others among the Immortal, dedicate their existence, and all for You. Will You be so callous as to wipe them out? Will You wipe them out as if they meant nothing? Why not help them? If their idea of Order is so flawed, why not show them?" The image shifts, showing Nirvana. "And what of Your greatest creation, Nirvana, a domain exclusively Yours. I can no more enter it than you can enter Limbo. Would you annihilate Your perfect world because of one of Your supposedly failed creations? Show them. Teach them. Guide them on Your path, but leave these mortals be. They are not Yours any more than they are Mine. Order, this isn't Our fight to interfere with." |
| cog_n_taz12-22-06, 12:30 AM | ((Ouch! Nice one LG)) The ranks of The Order cease their attack. Slowly, all but one disappear as it listens to Chaos's speech. After a very long time, it speaks in a slow, uncertain voice."But... they are imperfect, they have no more Order in themselves than you! How... how could they ever understand? No... you were always a dreamer, a visionary. But in our minds, we both know that it cannot be... it simply will never work! What... what can possibly be done for them? Nothing.." |
| Lord_Gareth12-22-06, 12:40 AM | ((Last for the Night)) "You're wrong, Order. Just as I can form habits because I have part of You, You can change because You have part of Me. They have chosen Your Aspect over mine. They need but be shown the way. And because they have part of Me, they can change to Order, just as someone can change to Chaos. They can choose, Order, something You and I will never be able to fully appreciate. We have no true choice, and We never will. But They have taken their power of Choice, something unique to these lesser beings, and they have chosen You. You should be rewarding them for their choice, Order. They've taken your certainty, your decisiveness and reliablility, over the power my Chance could give them. You shouldn't punish these mortals, Order. They're only trying to better themselves." The forms slide together impossibly fast, creating the dusty, brown-clad human Chaos originally appeared as. "Think about it." |
| Khael12-22-06, 05:21 AM | OOC: Now that is an excellent exchange... Chaos keeps making me think of the line: "..it was impossible because I'm not playing to win, I simply play not to lose." But my thingy is currently still coming, stil it's not 'reality'...though since it knows what Chaos is, regardless of where this one is from, I wouldn't expect it to try and face him. BIC: The mass pulls more though, as Chaos ripped larger holes weakening reality, allowing a mighty form though, that sits at the arean floor, watching the exchange. (Or what was the floor, or whatever) |
| Larz_Fang12-22-06, 09:03 AM | The Robed Mages still manage to keep Caben Duur at bay. Some of them summon down storms of all forms of energy, while others use their doom spells to disrupt Caben's defenses and counter attacks. |
| cog_n_taz12-22-06, 10:18 AM | The Order looks distressed and contemplative, freezing entirely in thought for a few moments. "We have, and perhaps you are right, Chaos. Just this once, perhaps you do not lie, perhaps these mortals can be shown the way... We will try, when times are less desperate, for now though, they shall live. You, however, as well as those who choose you, must be destroyed. It is not Our choice, it is simply the only way... if We cease to be... what we are, if We deviate, we shall no longer exist, and you know it as well as Us.". With that, The Order snaps its fingers, enclosing Chaos in an impenetrable sphere of force, before rushing to Kyle, finality in hand. ((thanks Khael, I quite enjoyed making Order think for a change. Say, would you happen to know what happened to Gideon? Haven't seen him around in a while.)) |
| Lord_Gareth12-22-06, 10:27 AM | Chaos rolls his eyes and moves, faster than light, in front of Order. "Not today, Order. This is personal business for these mortals." A shimmering gate appears in front of the charging Primal, and he cannot avoid stepping through it. He finds himself in the comforting clockwork of Mechanus. Chaos looks about, settling his eyes on everyone in turn. "If anyone needs me, I'll be in Arboria. I hear tell that Lastai's throwing a party." He waves his hand in a gesture of goodbye, and the gate shifts. Stepping through, it vanishes. ((Cog, you can't imprison Chaos. Literally. When the gods kicked the shizz out of all the Primals at the Beginning, they couldn't lock him up. They had to convince him to stay in the box for a few billion years. Now that he's out, he can't be imprisoned again unless he lets you.)) |
| cog_n_taz12-22-06, 10:38 AM | ((ack, right. Still, plot demands that Order sticks around!)) Order looks around, it is home again. The whirring of gears, the humming of steam, everything seems so perfect, nothing can go wrong here. Yet... something already has, what could it be? Slowly, deliberately, as if it were a part of Itself, The Order glides through its plane at impossible speeds, stopping, eventually, at a small, rusted gear. A touch from Order's hand, and it is restored. there, much better. The figure takes one last sweeping gaze over its domain.soon, soon, this land shall be Perfected. With that comforting thought, The Order teleports out of its home plane. Back in the arena... Spells fly, blood spews, roars and screams fill the air as daggers pierce hearts, and it floats over it all, wishing it did not have to take part in this horrifying, chaotic affair, yet knowing that it must be. It hovers down to the ground, and with a swift flick of finality, removes three wizards from Existence. Spells seem to flicker and vanish as the natural order of things reasserts itself, suppressing any forceful effects, if only momentarily. Swiftly, finality swings in a blur, stopping right before striking Kyle's neck. "Kyle Killigna, your time has come. |
| Lord_Gareth12-22-06, 10:45 AM | Kyle looks at the blade at his neck, staring at the death that could come so quickly and imminently, and smiles a broad smile. "Eh, Orde', wanna see who's faster?" Moving faster than ever before, faster than any mortal or god has a right to, he slides backwards, then charges low, driving his daggers into Order's gut. Not stopping, he rips them out sideways as he slides past his opponent, streaking towards the Golem. Before he would hit the creature, the leaps, driving the twin blades into the construsct's head and using them to slide down its back. The he blurs away, leaving only the sonic boom of his movement behind him. Kyle Killigan is now moving faster than the eye can see. |
| Khael12-22-06, 01:52 PM | instead of driving into the Golem, they simply bounce off the constructs head, throwing Kyle off balance as he changes direction to serves about it's head, leaping off just as a black clawed entwined tentacle smashes onto the Golem, as an immense black 'thing' finally pulls its vast bulk onto the plane, legs and tendrils cracking the ground as they take the weight of something not fully suited for gravity anymore, but within seconds is shrinking to a more compact form, as the golem crawls out from under its tendril... |
| cog_n_taz12-22-06, 06:19 PM | ((Orde' ? Unfortunately, I will post the ebil uber attack now (christmas eve my time) as I'm busy for the next 36ish hours) ))As Kyle makes his relentless attack, gashes begin to appear all across the Order, ripping the cloth of the robe. After a while, a voice emanates from the order. "You seek to resist your unmaking? Very well, We both know it is futile, but We will allow it. Kyle Killigan, THIS ENDS NOW!". Time seems to freeze and, with it, Kyle. The Order, in one fluid, terrible moment, reaches out with a hand. Its outstretched, perfect arm passes right into Kyle and through him, reaching his heart. When the arm is drawn back out, something swirls in The Order's palm. It is neither liquid nor solid, and seems to shift through a million colours at once, finally settling on once. It is Kyle Killigan's Soul. As a chant fills the air, the audience notices something: A glowing Omega symbol has encircled Kyle's Soul. Finally, The Order crushes the Soul between his hands, and speaks those terrible words... "Kyle Killigan, by the Words of Creation, by the final word of the universe, by the force of our will and by your truename of Keruth Sharzin, I command you to be UNMADE." Greyish black tendrils erupt out of the air, lashing out at Kyle, attempting to wipe him from existence, any lesser man would be long gone, and when Kyle Killigan is gone from this world...who knows? Perhaps he will never have been... "Goodbye, Kyle Killigan. To be sure, some may mourn your passing, if they remember your existence, but it shall not be Us." |
| Lord_Gareth12-22-06, 11:27 PM | ((Caben, save mah bacon!)) |
| Gideon_Gideonson12-22-06, 11:42 PM | Okay...finishing move time. Sorry it couldn't go on longer...but I'll be really busy soon (that's why I haven't been on recently...apologies), and don't know how much time I'll have. I'll probably only be available at special request... BIC: Caben Duur turns from its opponents as Chaos and Order engage. It watches, entranced, as the battle rages, before finally, toward the climax, turning again to the rest of the combatants. So...Order and Chaos...both strong...both very strong... But there is something stronger still. And it is time to end this charade. The blood magus raises its arms, thorny tendrils waving in ritualistic motions, and the earth rips apart. From the gaping chasm so created streams a cloud of dark spirit flesh, swirling across the arena in a terrible storm. Caben Duur is ripped apart, his blood soaking the entire field, steaming, fresh, and hot. The enemies of Caben Duur die, some quickly, some painfully, as the dark spirits engulf them, tearing their meager bodies and spirits to pieces. Screams of pain fill the air as flesh bubbles, blisters, cracks, and bursts, spewing steaming gysers of artieral fluid in torrents. Deep red blood stains the very air as the combatants literally burst in blood-splattered demises. Chunks of muscle, skin, and bone litter the arena. The spirits of the dead try to rise, but the net of malovent ghosts holds firm, and they are subsumed into the entity that is Caben Duur. The clouds of spirits condense again, into a vaguely humanoid form of pure darkness, shot through with pulsing red veins of blood. The horror throws back its head and laughs at the carnage; a deep, terrible, throaty laugh which scars the very soul. And then Caben Duur notices the survivors. Two beings are still standing, alone amongst the bloody tatters of the champions. One alive, and one barely clinging on to existance. The Order, hand outstretched, clutching the rapidly vanishing remnants of Kyle Killigan's soul. And Caben Duur looks at the scene and its laughter rises to a terrible fervor. It watches with interest as Kyle is slowly and painfully wiped from existance, his soul fading more with every passing second. And then a voice...weak...barely heard...cuts through the ether. ---still in progress--- |
| Lord_Gareth01-17-07, 09:46 PM | Sorry to cut in Caben, but Kyle's not taking this lying down. I've waited long enough. It hurt. The agony was beyond anything Kyle had every experienced. His soul was slipping into the void, and soon he would be Annulled. His life flashed before his eyes. He could see his mother, holding him on her lap, telling him not to play with knives. He could feel the clean slice of his first kill. The shame of his years as a bandit. The monks who had taken him, on the verge of death. The mercy they had shown him, the kindness and love. He had devoted himself to Good from then on, swearing off material wealth. And now it was at an end. The Monastary would never be rebuilt. Those he cared about, those who depended on him, would die, never knowing why. They would suffer the anguish of his failure. "NO!" Kyle screamed the word in defiance, his shout reverberating through the Arena, stopping all in their tracks. Filled with energy, the magic gripping Kyle shatters, and, weak and haggard, he raises his knives level with Order. "I..won'..le'..ya..do..thi'. You don'..jus'..en'..me, by doi' thi'. I won' le' ya. I WON'!" Moving his blades faster than he ever had before, Kyle Killigan charged, straight for Order. His knives ripped through the air, slashing through Order's physical Shell. There was only one thought left in Kyle's mind; he could not fail them. A small whisper slides through the minds of those in the Arena, comforting, yet distant. While it speaks, you cannot help but feeling calm; everything will be alright. To the devils, to Caben, to Order, and sadly, to many of the mortals in the Arena, this voice is unfamiliar, but still, you can place its name. The voice is Love, most mysterious of all Primal forces. Order, she whispers gently, Kyle has drawn upon My strength. He stays not for his sake, but for those he truly loves. Your act of destroying him would cause their suffering, and he can't let that happen. In Caben's mind, a special, more intimate contact occurs. He knows, instinctively, that this is private. There is much of Him in you, Caben. Much Hate. You have been denied My Aspect far too long. It isn't too late. Turn away, Caben, turn back. I can help you. I can heal you. I can give you the things Killigan described, those things that you even now yearn for. Just let go of your Hate. |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-17-07, 11:33 PM | Caben Duur stops dead, and its form begins to quake with immense force. Something is happening deep within its hate-ridden spirit...a white glow is engulfing him, a calming aura...the touch of Love. A low murmer of voices, a chorus of the damned, escapes Caben Duur's lips. no...no...no...they tried once before...traps...lies...all lies...look what they did...pay...they will pay...kill...kill them all...no. we betrayed ourselves...WE DID NOT! Do not...make them seem better than...they are. They are the...nightmares. Love is...dangerous...and...wild. We were created to...protect the world...from...danger....destroy....them ...all........ And still Caben Duur stands still, and, as it does so, the glow increases slowly. But the struggle reflects in its eyes, and Caben Duur's very essence rebels. Whisps of black smoke pour from its pores, engulfing it in a could of murky darkness. The darkness closes in, smothering the glow instantly, cutting it off completely, and reducing hope to despair. A piercing scream erupts from the mist; a scream of mortal agony...and of something the darkness did not expect. A scream of sudden realization...a scream of vengance for the dying man...the only one who ever showed some compasion for the monster that is Caben Duur. Kyle Killigan. And Caben Duur stands up, advancing once more on the two combatants. ***** The smoke surrounding it writhes as if in pain, swirling, ripping, tearing at the emotions running unchecked in Caben Duur. Some primal force within struggles with impossible power, and, as Caben Duur advances, the stadium itself begins to rock and buckle...slowly, slowly, the tremor spreads...now Sorcen's Palace...now Hell's capital...now the 9th layer...now the 8th...now all of Baator, suddenly torn asunder in one terrible moment, splintered apart by unseen hands. A deep crater, deeper than eternity, darker than oblivion, splits the arena in two, and suspended in the air above its inextolerable pull is Caben Duur, all motion stopped, seemingly lifeless, smoke leaking from its body in torrents. Waves of utter blackness rise from the chasm, joining the swirling smoke, strengthening the darkness, feeding the evil. The void is free, and the universe is...doomed. The smoke begins to condense about the abomination, forming the visages of screaming spirits, tormented souls, bound by hatred for millennia. They encase Caben Duur, constricting him, binding him, pulling closer and closer, to rip out the single treacherous bit of compasion in it. The darkness surrounds it like a funeral shroud creeping inwards, draining hope, breeding rage... And then, as oblivion surround Caben Duur, as its anger prepares to consume it completely and unleash it on the world, a faint glow cuts through the darkness of oblivion. A faint white light, from the center of the dark figure that is Caben Duur. The darkness redoubles its effort, tendrils reaching, sucking, constricting, but still the light grows. Now sheathed in mists of oblivion like a second skin, the black figure rises slowly upward, light pouring from its buring eyes. Its mouth opens, flooding the arena with light, and it speaks in a voice unlike anything ever heard before. Its voice carries the harmonics that created the universe, and rings with the music of the universe. As it speaks, pure existance rolls off its tongue, and oblivion rests in the pauses between words. It is terrible to hear, and yet the audience sits in wondering awe, admiring the terrible beauty of its speech. No. We will not kill for you. We have lost sight of ourselves...but on this day the once-blind see. Kyle Killigan...your services will not be forgotten. We see far into the future, your simple deed...your small friendship...held above the actions of the greatest of deities. For you...you and the power by which you made that weak bond with a monster...love...have done more for both reality and the void then the greatest of their numbers. For now we see...we were right...and we were wrong. Oblivion is needed...but so is existance. Neither can be without the other...both must be in harmony...what we create, so do we destroy, and what we destroy, so do we create. The void must be kept in check...but so must creation...chaos....order...good...evil. ..all must be in perfect balance. We see this now. Caben Duur is no more. We are Caben Duur. We are Chaos...we are order...we are love...we are everything, and nothing. We are Na'harilu. We are...Balance. And we will see that it is so. White fire ingites the figure, burning it away. Ashes fall like rain to the ground, and the figure disentigrates, leaving a ruined world behind it...nothing lives...nothing save one man, twin daggers still clutched in his hands. And far away, another place, another time, Kyle Killigan pulls his injured body off the floor of Sorcen's Battle Royale. The same Kyle Killigan, the same Battle Royale...but no sign of the devastation remains. Caben Duur is gone...those slain in battle lie scattered about the arena, breathing heavily, their wounds gone. A faint, unearthly voice whispers gently across the arena... ...and what we destroy, so do we create... And then that to is gone. Nothing remains to show the passing of Caben Duur... ...nothing, save a single white lily, furled and alone in the center of the arena. As the assembled audience watches, it slowly opens, and lo! Within it is a depthless black...the color of oblivion. And as Kyle Killigan thinks back on the events known only to him...the transformation of Caben Duur, the blossom begins to cry, warm liquid running down its petals, staining the ground beneath it... ...with blood. |
| cog_n_taz01-18-07, 02:14 AM | Amazing! Sadly, there was something I was going to post before that, but I fell asleep... oh well, time for the ending. The Order raises its blade to parry the dagger blows, but it is too late. Terrible rips and gashes appear in the robe, slowly expanding with a whispering sound. Soon, the whole falls to the ground, going up in flames, turning to ash. When the flames clear at last, Kyle sees it. The Order lives. Even though it may have hung on to existence, it is evidently a close call. Where the imposing robe was before, wisps and strands of grey energy is all that is left, barely keeping a coherent form. By its side is finality, the terrible blade that has unmade so many. Finally, you realize what keeps it together, what is has become, the only thing that ties it to existence, giving it a semblance of life. Its Purpose. Throughout this, it hears the voices speak to it, both from within and without. It covers what would be its face with spectral hands and speaks softly. "Neither of you understand Us, do you? It is not Our choice to destroy you, Kyle killigan. It is not our choice to do any of the things we do. We are forced to do these things by a force far greater than Us, the thing that keeps Us alive, bound to existence. Our Purpose. All the years that We have existed, We did nothing but what it commanded, for if We disobeyed it, what would We be but another shell of a being, drifting with the wind? We are nothing without it, Kyle, though We cannot hope for you to understand it, the mortal that you are. We are bound to it, and if we go against it, We will no longer exist. For the sake of order in the universe, for the sake of those who have chosen Us, We could not disobey. It is not Cruel, it simply is, and will be when we are not. Until now, there was nothing else. We would obey it, and the universe would go on, as it always had. Now, though... there is so much to think about, so much to do... and in all this, We are powerless. So you see now, Kyle Killigan, none of this is Our own doing, nothing is that We have ever done. All these years, there was nothing We could do, it was never an option, so We never considered it. Even now, in these terrible times, there never has been anything We could do to act apart from Our purpose, and there never will be. Yet, Kyle Killigan, you have taught Us that there could be, and for that, We thank you. It may be that We are powerless, that We can do nothing... but after all, what life is worth living if we do not try?" With those words, The Order drops its terrible sword, to the ground. As its Purpose vanishes, it slowly begins to fade, ceasing to exist itself. What remains of the Primal turns and walks away from Kyle and the others. A portal to arboria opens before it, and it speaks its last words to Kyle. "Goodbye Kyle, and thank you. We must go now. There is someone that We...that I must speak to." his speech is strangely calm, and even in this direst hour, strangely happy. As he begins to walk toward the portal, his purpose begins to unravel itself, and he slowly begins to fade from the world. Within moments, what remained of his form is gone entirely, and nothing is left as the portal vanishes. Nothing but a single tear on the ground. |
| Lord_Gareth01-18-07, 04:42 PM | "Goo' bye for now, Cabe', Orde'." Kyle pants heavily. The fight has been exhausting, but already he can feel the energy returning to his limbs. "Cabe', you know where ta fin' me if ya eve' nee' me fo' anythin'. I feel tha call ta ba'le agai'." With that, Kyle walks away, tears streaming down his face, to meet his foes. |
