| Lord Tarran10-27-06, 06:49 PM | First off, I'm back, and glad to be so. Howdy those who remember me and those who weren't around then alike. Moving on. This game is a simple adventure to go slay somethings that may or may not move on from there. My wish is that this game becomes a series of games, or just one long one, leading eventually into the founding of the Darkhole inn. I would love for this to be a levelless game, but I know already that opens the door to god-moders, so here's the deal. Though there is no level requirement, I would like a max effective power level to be no more than 20, preferrably 16. -Tarran out. |
| Taeldrin Laesrash10-28-06, 08:35 PM | Holy sh- You're back! Am I dreaming? I'll put something up soon. |
| Lord Tarran10-29-06, 11:33 AM | Welcome aboard Taeldrin. It's good to have you. |
| Gideon_Gideonson10-29-06, 01:29 PM | This sounds like fun, but my characters might seem to good. I have a tendency to create new things of varying power levels...and I have a tendency to overpower things, although my character get injured a lot. Look at Sorcen's battle arena please, and tell me if I'm overdoing it for this thread. I'd love to take part, but I don't want to wreck the thread. |
| Revlis_Nogard10-29-06, 03:05 PM | Uh, kinda same here...My guy's pretty powerful, but I can tone him down for the sake of the campaign. Or you guys could step up your characters however you see it fit. But I woiuld b interested in taking part. |
| Taeldrin Laesrash10-29-06, 05:44 PM | Stats rarely get in the way of things here. Characters are usually a personality, backstory, and appearance rather than a collection of stats. If you look waaayyyyy back, they rarely matter in these threads. |
| Gideon_Gideonson10-29-06, 05:48 PM | I'm well aware of that, and my characters have no stats per se. However, Lord Tarran's request to keep power around levels 16-20 and my playing style of making up effects/etc look like they might clash, so I voiced concern. I don't want to hurt the thread by "overpowering it." |
| Firethorn10-29-06, 06:50 PM | Greetings on your return Lord Tarran, I myself am thinking about a return. Interested in your game and thinking of resurrecting Wilcox Firethorn the Ranger to take part. He did die in his last game...pity really; it was my own lack of attention to the details. So perhaps a few more details would suffice. ~Firethorn |
| Lord Tarran10-29-06, 09:14 PM | To answer all in one go.... Taeldrin is a pretty good source besides myself on how I run games. :D. He's the only one of my previous bunch who seems to be around. Good to have you aboard, bud, again. I've yet a chance to look at Sorcen's, but I'll get to it soon. I'll tell you by Tuesday Gideon if you are good to go. Firethorn, I would love to have you on. But I don't know what you mean by details. Care to expound? -Tarran |
| Gideon_Gideonson10-29-06, 09:26 PM | Well, I'm in already. I'll just power-down my usual style. |
| Revlis_Nogard10-29-06, 09:50 PM | You don't need to worry about the shapeshifter guy from the OOC thread of the arena. I went with a different character. If I'm okay to join, that is. |
| Firethorn10-30-06, 08:13 PM | LT, I guess by details I was just asking what kind of game you will be running. I am not familiar with the Darkhole Inn. Is this to be a basic Dnd/fantasy type game? Thanks, Firethorn |
| kaizer_soatze10-30-06, 08:28 PM | Ill do this to yeah look at sorcens thread pg13 |
| Lord Tarran11-01-06, 06:43 PM | My game is a basic D&D fantasy, held in Faerun. Also, I would like to remind players to read everything incredibly carefully. At present time I would like to ask all players with the exception of Taeldrin to edit your posts to fit the parameters outlined in the first post on location. Namely, we are above ground, miles away from the cave down into the Underdark. Thank you. I would also like to mention my strict policy on proper english, grammer, and punctuation, as to keep game play smooth and easy to understand. I would also like the format of italics as actions, normal text in quotations as speech, and a different font than your normal font in italics for thought speech. Colors are not an issue, but make it readable. |
| Gideon_Gideonson11-01-06, 06:48 PM | Ummm...I assume you mean everyone except me...Taeldrin mentions the cave, I don't. I only mention the campfire. And is it okay if my actions are in normal text, and my speech in italics? There's still an obvious difference in the posting. Its just that that's how I always do it, and I go on auto-pilot when formatting my posts. If this isn't okay, that's not a problem. I'll just concentrate more. |
| Lord Tarran11-01-06, 07:31 PM | My apologies. Gideon, you are also alright. I would prefer that my format be followed, if it isn't a massive deal. Continuity will make the game easier to read for everyone, and make it harder for the details to get lost, which I found to be the downfall of my previous games. |
| Gideon_Gideonson11-01-06, 07:54 PM | Not a problem. I'll fix the italics thing. Looking foward to starting :D |
| Taeldrin Laesrash11-03-06, 06:32 PM | LT? Have you vanished on us again? |
| drow_minstral11-04-06, 10:29 AM | Um...hey, I was wondering if I could join this with my character, Tyris. He is in the database, and you can PM me with any questions about him. Now, I am a beginner at D&D, but not to forum RPGs. So is this ok? Thank you. |
| Lord_Gareth11-05-06, 12:50 PM | I was also wondering if I could pop into this, with Syra, newly made for Sorcen's. It could be part of her past, since she's signifigantly higher than 20 there. The only other thing is that she's a Shadowmancer (she manipulates shadows, sort of like a warlock manipulates his stuff). If you have a problem with this, or me joining, please, don't pull punches. |
