| Lord Tarran10-27-06, 06:45 PM | It is years before Christopher Seluneson founds the Inn that will make him famous throughout the Underdark, the Inn that acted as a base for the Gods in their fight against Asmodeus when he discovered how to open large portals directly into the Prime. Right now, Christopher is sitting at his campfire, mere miles from the large cave that will one day serve as the home of Darkhole. Though to those who know him in the future he would look the same, a pale nineteen year old with yellow snakes eyes, almost white-gold hair, and a uniform black outfit with silver lining and marks of Selune, he is actually nineteen. He is not world weary yet, either, seeming almost exuberant being out on his own under the moon. In a nearby town he had left notice to his mother's clerics and contacts that he was near and was looking for a party to descend into the Underdark with him to rid the area of the Drow Werespiders worshipping Shar nearby. He sat, medititating, and waiting. His mind cleared, looking outwards through his psionic birthright, waiting for those who wished to join him. |
| Taeldrin Laesrash10-28-06, 09:28 PM | Anselm Entoll stumbled through the thick undergrowth, his light spell having faded several minutes ago. He clutched his holy symbol, a ruby on a thin gold chain, to his chest. Why, Wanderer, have you abandoned me in travel? he muttered to himself. As he noticed a light coming from the trees ahead of him, Anselm broke into a run, almost tripping over several roots. As he wriggled through the branches, he was prepared to sit himself in front of the light, but he noticed that the cave was already occupied. Oh...Hello. Am I interrupting something? |
| Lord Tarran10-29-06, 12:33 AM | "No, you are not," Christopher smiled, opening his eyes with the veils of shadows now covering them, "Merely the beginning of a short crusade." Instinctively Christopher reaches out for Anselm's surface thoughts, looking for a name, and from the looks of this man, who his god was. |
| Taeldrin Laesrash10-29-06, 06:05 PM | I've forgotten my manners, haven't I? Shelter does that to you, I guess. Anselm Entoll of Celestian, he says, extending his hand towards Christopher. The man is of average build, wearing a chain shirt over a silver robe and pair of leather traveller's pants. At his side is a bronze telescope and compass attached to a belt, which he pushes to his side. |
| Gideon_Gideonson10-29-06, 06:23 PM | As Anselm and Christopher settle themselves around the campfire, a tall, powerfully built figure strides out of the darkness. Swathed in a tattered black cloak and clutching a pair of dark obsidian daggers, it resembles something vaguely human, but something seems out of place. The figure steps into the light and throws aside its cloak, revealing a goblinoid body covered in half-healed runic scars. When the hobgoblin speaks, its voice is deep, sorrowful and resonant, and contains a strong yet calming quality that contrasts starkly to his appearance. "Greetings, fellow travelers. Might I be allowed to share your shelter? For the night is cold, and I am without food or company." |
| Revlis_Nogard10-29-06, 09:41 PM | A rather haggard looking elf stumbles from out of the dark. His outfit is mainly hand-sewn leather, and at his side is a well-used rapier. A small smile creeps across his face when he sees a warm campfire. He walks right next to the fire and begins to warm his hands, while looking over his shoulder to make sure that he is not followed into the light. He seems not the notice the others around him for a moment until he looks around at those around him. His voice is a mellow, relaxing tone. "Oh...greetings...I'm sorry to intrude, it's just that this is the friendliest place I've seen to stop and rest for a while. I hope it's not a problem. My name is Pent. And you all are?" |
| thasis11-03-06, 01:19 AM | A rather weary looking cloaked figure seems to stumble near the campfire. His face is shrouded in long black hair, but his piercing red eyes glare from underneath his hair. He looks only in his mid twenties, but he has a face that seems as battle hardened as the oldest of veterans. He abruptly sits down near the campfire, gasps, and keels over. He grasps his side in pain, and when he pulls his hand back, you can see that there is blood on it. You then notice that there is a large gash in the side of his robe. "May I please lay down by this warm fire? I am wounded and do need the rest" |
| Revlis_Nogard11-03-06, 07:22 AM | Pent whispers something incoherently, however it is obvious that he is talking to someone who isn't readily apparent. His hand begins to glow with a faint white and blue light. He reaches his hand out and touches the wounded man. "It isn't much healing, but maybe enough to stop some of that bleeding?" |
| thasis11-03-06, 05:57 PM | The man gives a faint smile to Pent, "Thank you sir. The help is appreciated. My name is Thasis. I am a traveler. The wound I received is my careful reminder of what happens when you anger a tribe of bugbears" |
| Taeldrin Laesrash11-03-06, 06:30 PM | Anselm looks towards Thasis and Pent's attempt and at healing. Hm? Would you like some proper healing? he asks. I can do if you wish. Anselm Entoll's my name. |
| Revlis_Nogard11-04-06, 02:30 AM | "Heh heh...yes, the healing granted to me by the Grandmother isn't the best. I'm sure you would do a better job of it." Pent begins murmuring to the entity again. As the conversation continues, it seems that he is talking to more than one being. |
| Gideon_Gideonson11-04-06, 04:58 PM | The hobgoblin jumps violently up from his seat at Pent's words. "The Grandmother? Tell her that Caben Duur is here. And I'm watching you, Binder." He then turns Thasis and Anselm. "Let me handle this. Pain brings power. Healing is for the weak." So saying, he touches Thasis' side, and the wound draws shut. At the same time, a gash appears on Caben Duur's side, where it gushes blood for a brief second before sealing itself again. |
| Revlis_Nogard11-05-06, 11:12 AM | Pent gives the hobgoblin a look. He then turns his head towards the sky and begins conversing again with the entities. He looks at the hobgoblin again and simply states. "I want nothing to do with you, Caben Duur. I do not seek your power. You do not need to worry. However, Lord Orthos is upset about your absence of late, and Tenebrous still seeks to harm you..." |
| Gideon_Gideonson11-05-06, 11:31 AM | "Orthos never had any power over me. He tried once...you know what happened. But thanks to some foolish mage, I am free once more. Tenebrous though...still angry, is he? There will be a reckoning someday..." Caben Duur returns to his seat by the fire and resumes his morose silence. |
| Revlis_Nogard11-05-06, 11:37 AM | Pent looks with some offense to the hobgoblin. "Real power? No. But you know what he can do to you. And as for Tenebrous, well, I never liked him anyway." He laughs and walks over to Caben, who looks more than a little confused. He sits down and whipsers into Caben's ear. "You can't hide forever. They will find you. And you will return." |
| Gideon_Gideonson11-05-06, 11:48 AM | "SILENCE MORTAL. DO NOT CONTINUE TO ANNOY ME." "And Orthos may try his best. But I am free...he will never again imprison me." Caben Duur rises to his feet. "Enough of this. When are we leaving?" |
| Revlis_Nogard11-05-06, 11:54 AM | Pent resumes laughing and simply walks away from Caben. "Orthos was the only guy in your corner for a long time, Caben. Don't forget that. It wasn't he who imprisoned you. But I do agree, when are we getting under way?" |
| Gideon_Gideonson11-05-06, 12:06 PM | "My name is Caben Duur, mortal. Refer to me as such. But Orthos not imprisoning me...that begins to make sense...his betrayal has bothered me for centuries...but who else would dare take his form..." He stares straight at Pent, and his eyes glow a sickening, livid green. "You have given me much to think about, mortal." |
| Revlis_Nogard11-05-06, 02:18 PM | "I'll tell you this, Caben Duur, blood mage immortal, that there was a reason that you were imprisoned, and there is a reason you were able to escape..." |
| thasis11-05-06, 07:24 PM | Thasis kindly thanks Caben Duur for the healing of sorts. He then continues to watch the two bicker back and forth with an odd grin on his face that seems almost combined with a snarl. |
