Hi, I have lurked for a long time but I must know, how does one gain infinite pp with bestow power? I have read the posts, but I just don't get it. Can someone help? You combine a bunch of ways to reduce the power points you put in until you are getting more out than you put in.

hi lurker.
The Campaign Smashers thread is just below this one right now.
Bestow Power is the first entry.

Details that aren't apparent : BP costs 3pp and target get 2pp , and it augments the same way.
Find a way to reduce the 3pp cost. Budda - Bing.
Torc of Power Preservation (the non- M.C. version) with Wilder 3 and BP via something = re-charge.
Other methods use Races of Stone, Magic of Incarnum, Complete Psionic.
Technically speaking, it isn't infinite pp. You are capped by needing to save pp for the BP and possible enervation, and even a second enervation will happen sooner or later. Then it metered each time by said limits. Wilder functions as a Warlock this way, but with half the abilities, although more choices. Just don't choose to do anything the Warlock can do.
With a Psion, the MoI set-up kicks in at 6th level, and it more or less breaks a game ... waahh :weep: ;)
so it usually isn't "talked" about here or on the Psi- board.
With a PsyWar, the MoI set-up kicks in at 9th level, and it upgrades the PsyWar to a very good Cleric. This is bad because Clerics must be defended for their superior position, no matter what. I should have All-Caps'd that.
Affinity Field and a Psicrystal and BP = Immediate re-charge. That's TO board for you.

I just read RadicalTaoist's entry on this subject, and now i understand. Apparently this can be accheived at 3rd level.

Ya beat me Golem!!

Yes you are correct 3rd level is the quickest way to do it, easiest is with incarnum feats.

With the MIC mindfeeder, you can now CdG your downed foes for temporary pp, which you can then use BP to convert 3 for 2 to real pp.

If I'm not mistaken it does become infinite at 17th level, or the earliest you can manifest affinity field, fission, and bestow power. If you could somehow do all 3 at lvl 1 then yes, you could have infinite power points at lvl 1.

How does the fission method work?

The Fission method, as above, also requires Affinity Field. It likely involves one of the fissioned beings manifesting Affinity Field, and the other manifesting Bestow Power on the first (which gets passed back to the second through the field). And at the end of the effect, you gain the sum of the PP from the two fissioned beings. Using Affinity Field, you'll get back approximately 4/3 of what you put in when manifesting Bestow Power.
