Building a Celtic RPG <<Need Help>> [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-02-07, 09:11 PM Ok Im rebuilding my homebrew. My players have all moved over the last 4 years and we built a rahter substantial world to play in based off of a mish mash of Welsh/irish/Scots and Norse/germanic myth.

I want to custom fit the player classes to the Realm.

Im thinking the generic Classes fit it best for the Warrior and Expert, but the Spellcaster wont work and i need to create a General Class Priest and General Class Aristocrat

I also need help creatign a magic system. I dont want "spells" but more along the lines of Warlock Invocations for Arcane spellcasters.

If anyone is available or intrested please let me know

05-07-07, 01:42 AM I own this book, and in my honest opinion it is the greatest tool for an all Celtic World setting. I strongly urge you to give it a try, if you can.

05-07-07, 08:35 PM Yea, Ive used that before to try and flesh out my homebrew and its a great tool. But the world Im trying to build is more "advanced" and has reached the high middle ages era.

I even have a PROFESSIONAL map.. thanks to Sean MacDonald who graciously turned my Paintbrush POS into a map worthy of a Real Source book!!

Its Alternate earth so the basic landforms where morphed into something AMAZING!

The "What's a DM to do" board is even more popular; consider posting it there as well. Sorry I don't actually know much about your question.

Um, by "general class", do you mean PC class? If so, take the aristocrat class and give the extra bonuses to Diplomacy, plus perhaps an option of being combat, diplomacy, or study oriented (just like rangers can pick a fighting style). Then they could either get a few spells, more skills, or combat feats, reflecting how they spend their leisure time or how they get their way at court. Just a thought...
