| Captain Binkle01-23-05, 09:00 PM | Waldo Binkle walked into the Elfsong Tavern and sat down at the bar. "Welcome back, Cap'n Binkle," the barkeep said to the imfamous gnome. "Where's your crew?" "Somewhere between the Shining South and Thay by now," he replied absently. "Wha' happend?" "A wizard i had helped once, stole my ship." Binkle said simpily. "I'm hoping to find some help in getting back my ship." "Well, can't help yeh there," said the barkeep wiping out a mug with a dirty rag. Binkle pondered his next move while sipping a mug of ale. "What am i going to do?" |
| Leonidas Nightingale01-25-05, 07:32 AM | A slim but muscled man approached the captain at the bar. His hair was long, darkbrown and his face slightly scared. His clothes where that of the period. Everybody was wearing it, a long coat, nice velvet sleeves underneath and off course the sword. " 'mo'ning. I hea'd yo talking 'bout losing a ship. Currious as I am, what kind o' ship was it? That 's b'cause I have met a wiz'rd whom was sell'n a ship yesterday. Mos curious sight it was." |
| Captain Binkle01-25-05, 01:13 PM | "Perhaps it is my scooner that you saw, good warrior," the gnomish captain pondered a moment. "Could I ask you to accompany me to, hopefully retrieve my ship?" |
| Drizzt01-26-05, 01:01 AM | what seemed to be a green giant stood from a table a few paces away. He, or what looked like a he from the captains point of view, strode over to the bar and sat down beside the gnome. Towering over him like the sun at high noon, the giant turned to him. The captain could now see the creatures features in full and found himself staring at an orc...or rather a half orc, The half-orcs eyes shone a intelligence capable of only a half-breed and the half-orcs arms were a lighter shade of green than his wilder parent, along with a thick mane of dark brown, almost black, hair. These were the tell tale signs of a half-breed. "I hear you might be needing some...help, in gaining your ship back." the half-breed continued without pause " You'll need some...muscle, if you catch my meaning, if you want your ship back, so I am prepared to offer you my survices if you take me on your ship as..." at this he lowered his voice to a whisper" cook and" he raised his voice back to its normal growling pitch" as a partner in share of the ship, by that I mean, I can have eqaul share of the any treasure and adventuring oppertunities, the ship would still be yours to do as you like" he ordered another ale and siped it as he waited for the captains response. |
| Captain Binkle01-26-05, 12:35 PM | "Grand, we should be able to retake my ship, hopefully," the captain added under his breath. "I almost forgot we may need the help of a wizard to counter the magics of the other mage. He has overthrown my crews minds to keep them from rebeling. But, i fear that their continued exposure to these magics could prove dangerous to their minds." |
| Drizzt01-27-05, 01:32 PM | " Hmm...You may be right, but i don't trust wizards, no matter how good their intentions may be" The half-orc stretched his arms into the air and went back to his ale. " I don't know where we may get a mage but the best bet would be around some of the bars in the upper city". |
| Captain Binkle01-27-05, 01:42 PM | "You remind me of one of my crew. Hale has a distrust towards wizards. Perhaps you know a cleric who might be of use," the gnome pondered. |
| Leonidas Nightingale01-28-05, 08:54 AM | "Well, anyway I am in. My sea legs are getting rather weary of the land so let me shrap'n the blades. When will we go?" |
| Captain Binkle01-28-05, 12:06 PM | "We depart when we have a ship and a cleric or mage,"the one-eyed captain said to the warrior. |
| Khaira01-28-05, 01:10 PM | (Character sheet is at: http://boards.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=146799&page=8&pp=30 and it's the 6th post on the page, if such is needed) Respen was sitting in a corner of the bar, sipping a glass of wine as he contemplated what his next move would be. It seemed as though he could only hear the conversations of some sort of lost ship and recruitment to retrieve said lost ship through a deep, foggy haze as his mind traversed where he had been, and where he could go next. It was then that he heard Captain Binkle talking about finding a cleric... "A lost ship, you say? You need a cleric or a wizard, you say?" The Battle-Cleric of Tyr fingered the holy symbol hanging around his neck..hmm. "Perhaps I could be of service, my nautical companion." |
| Captain Binkle01-28-05, 05:13 PM | "Perhaps you may, O' just one," the little gnome said to the battle cleric. "Does Tyr grant you spells to dispel mind-enchantments? I fear my crew is in trouble with the Red Wizard aboard my ship." ((OOC: sweet character Khaira. Makes me want to roll up one.)) |
| Khaira01-28-05, 05:41 PM | Red Wizards....Respen had heard of the evil wizards in his journeys, of whom possessed increasingly powerful mind-controlling magic...Respen shrugged and nodded to the nautical gnome. "Tyr, the Just God, grants me the power to institute justice among the unjust as needed. He would grant me the power to defeat this sole Red Wizard, if need be, my nautical friend. Not even a Red Wizard could stand against the power, might, and justice of a Battle Cleric of Tyr!" |
| Drizzt01-28-05, 06:23 PM | " well, it seems we have found ourselves a wielder of magic. Now all we need is a ship to carry us on our way." The half-orc stands up and looks about the tavern. " I may well know someone who could help us with such a problem." The haf-orc walks to the door and says. " I should mention my friend is a bit unsavoury but he doesn't have the heart of a backstabber...By the way my names Sadu." He looks at them all intently, then opens the door, saying" shall we?". |
| Edwin Odesseiron of Thay01-29-05, 05:45 PM | Sitting pretty on the former Gnome’s Ship. Edwin Odesseiron of Thay raped his red cloak around him, as the cold wind picked up. “Abandon me will he! HaaaaaaaBuuuhhaaaa” Cackling with great joy the Red Wizard snapped his fingers. The now Magically Dominated crew hurried about setting sail for their secret destination. “When I pay for a prostitute to perform, be it plump Halfling lass from any port. Or mouthy Gnome captain to stay put off sore in his rat trap boat until I get back They better do as I say or” Edwin looked about him “Or they might pay dearly for such disrespectful behavior. With a sneer he added with succulent glee “Like ones prized ship” Buuahahahhaaaaa |
| Captain Binkle01-29-05, 06:13 PM | The newly formed party walked down to the Baldur's Gate Docks. The gnome, with help from his new friends, bought a small ship from the half orc's contact, to start the search for the Sea Talon. It told the new crew a couple days to adjust. But, the gnomish captain was surprised how well they worked together. He saw bonds of friendship flourish within the party. Captain Binkle had even made friends with the half orc, after a rather long drinking contest. The little gnome still felt a buzz from last night. So, he thought it was about time to name the ship. "I was thinking," the one-eyed captain yelled to the Battle Cleric of Tyr. "Perhaps it was time you named the ship, good priest. She's in need of a just name. One that symbolizes your god perhaps." |
| Khaira02-01-05, 11:15 PM | "I was thinking," the one-eyed captain yelled to the Battle Cleric of Tyr. "Perhaps it was time you named the ship, good priest. She's in need of a just name. One that symbolizes your god perhaps." Respen was standing at the prow of the ship, feeling the wind blow his light hair in the wind, and the water spray at his face, when the gnomish captain yelled for him to name the ship. Drawing his sword, the very representation of the Just God's weapon, Respen pointed to the ship. His voice, then, rang out, sailing even above the wind and the spray of the water, a clear, strong call to the captain. "Let us be the very extension of the Just God's will and his power; she shall be named the Justiciar, the name of the very weapon that Tyr himself wields, and the same weapon that I wield in his name!" |
| Captain Binkle02-02-05, 02:15 AM | "A very fitting name for the ship and the quest we undertake," the captain yelled back. "Is there any aboard who disagree?" the gnome waited for any shouts of protest, and none was heard. "I give this ship to those who helped me in my time of need. If my ship is lost i will remain on board the Justiciar to help those who have helped me. You are all good folk and i feel that we could give justice upon those who deserve it." At that, Captain Binkle walks up to the scared warrior. "You, Leonidas Nightingale i name the new captain of this ship of Tyr. Unless you'd rather someone else have the title." |
