| Captain Binkle01-15-06, 09:51 AM | The day was cool and crisp in the City of Slendors, with a sea breeze coming off of the Sword Coast. Captain Binkle walked though the market examining the goods in each cart with moderate interest. Hale, Thorn, and Talyan Grimstone were with him. Talyan was comparing some blades an elf was selling to his own. The brothers were arguing over who had scored the most kills in their last scirmish with some scrags. Hale threw his arms wide, nearly knocked out a passerby. Then wiggled two fingers in his brother's face. To show he had taken out the largest of the sea-trolls, and it should count for two kills. "One body, one kill," Thorn said to his mute brother, shaking his head. Hale went to Captain Binkle for help. The one-eyed gnome was bartering with a fat jewlery merchant over a necklace, which the gnome had no intention of perchacing. "Clearly, this isn't a real star sapphire. So, the price you are offering me is ludicris," said the sea captain as Hale approached. "200 gold is more acceptible. Thorn is right, Hale," he added as the barbarian was about to get the gnome's attention. Captain Binkle grinned as Hale walked away grumbling. |
| Captain Binkle01-15-06, 10:30 AM | The wind blew off the Sword Mountains sending a cold chill down the fallen druid's neck. Ominous stone walls with jaggged edges lined the canyon-like path. Making Darius Fellglade feel small as he approched his objective. He had once been a devoted follower of Shiallia. His grove was something that she would have been proud of, or so he thought. His grove, home, and everything he devoted his life to was destroyed by the creature's lair he now approached. The cave enterence was gigantic. Something bigger than a horde of giants made its home here. A deep noice sounding like stone grinding against stone came from within the darkness of the cave. Darius stood lost at the enterence. Not sure whether to run or continue forward. Before he could fully decide he had already entered the cave. He moved cautiously though the dark cave. Not wanting to break the creature's slummber. Darius kept one hand out in front of him to feel his target. The druid readied his spell components when he reached the enormous creature. He kept his voice low as he resited the incantation. "Awaken!" the druid yelled when he knew his spell had finished. The creature stirred, and Darius faultered for a moment. He pulled himself together as the Tarrasque rose to see who had desturbed it's slumber. The creature paused for a moment confused. "Wh.... What.. What is this feeling?" it said at great lengths. "It is the feeling of intelligence and freedom, my friend," the druid managed to say. Amazed that his spell worked as well as it did. "Friend? Do you often wake your friends from deep slumber?" the tarrasque growled. "Well, friend. You have woke me from my slumber. Now you must find me food," it added. Darius thought quickily. "For one so large, it would take a city to feed one your size," the druid grinned in the darkness as he heard the creature chuckle. "Their is a city near here. Full of food. I could take you there," the druid offered. "Waterdeep, is it's name." "Take me to Waterdeep." |
| Agudo Archmage01-21-06, 02:53 PM | OOC hope this works my Captain :) http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongladyhoot.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley The Docks of Waterdeep were a busy hustle and bustle as always Races of al sorts hurried about hawking and taking one kind exotic goods or another all over the city A HalfOrk wearing a tight dark leather top and bagy green cloth pants; spoke with a rather surprising good Nelanther island accent as she bellowed for help getting all the escaped peewee albino monkeys back in their cages. Another sailor standing at the rail of his own vessel was of clear eastern Halfling descent laughed with glee at his competitor misfortune Ya don’t want those flee bitten varmints they have lice I'm sure. The Sea Bounty has the cleanest well fed beasties ya have ever seen He off handedly points to a hyenas cage to his left as it is lowered down onto the crowded dock A human girl possibly no older than eight and obviously a beggar by the unkempt hair yelled out Excuse me Mr. I is nots the smartest kid around but even I cans tell they is all dead. The Halfling nearly fell of his perch as he saw the lass was right then quickly recovered like all sly traders of the sea. Umm...Get ya animals all ready dead for cooking! Any and all Butchers get half price! Ya get the pelts for free as well....ummm hmmm Then looking down at the girl he angrily throws his shoe at her. Not far from the comical activity sitting on an empty barrel is a rather tall deeply tanned human puffing away on a well used corncob pipe. The sea breeze picks up blowing lose strands of his long blond hair which in turn causing the lovely white owl on his shoulder to comment Agudo dear..... As adorable as I look with a blond wig on could you put your hair in ponytail Glancing at his long time loyal companion he playfully smiles his rich fatherly voice sounding out over the clamor about them. My wise friend surly you know that’s the latest fashion around the Moonshae islands. Yet without further comment he let go of his well used pipe causing it to float in mid air still puffing away with its smoky sweet smell of apple cinnamon With a soft touch he removed the last of his hair from Lady Hoot feathery head and tied the thick strands with a silken white band. Then with an over dramatic voice he waved his hand as he grabbed hold of the corncob pipe Now after two hours of walking around here from one end of docks to the other we have still only found four rare chult spiced mushrooms and powdered green pepper from the wild coast. It seems the gosip is true about pirates slowing trade that far south. Flapping her wings slightly Lady Hoot gestured to the nearest boats Have you tried using your magic to detect any? Agudo brows came together in mock surprise Yes and the crafty Halfling is right about the lice and that’s not the only thing dead on the Sea Bounty. Lady Hoot shook her head at the sinless treatment of animals |
| Captain Binkle01-23-06, 05:29 PM | Captain Binkle and his crew began to head back to the ship. Walking thought the docks he smelled the sweet smell of apple cinnamon. He looked and saw one of his many friends. "Augdo, how are you?" the captain said walking up to the mage. "And good day to you too, Lady Hoot," he said bowing to the intelligent owl. Hale had caught sight of the mage and quickily walked into the nearest tavern. Thorn followed seeing an opportunity to out-drink his twin brother. Talyan returned to the ship to talk to Lucius. "Come, let us go for a drink and catch up on old times," the one-eyed gnome said leading the mage into the same tavern that Hale and Thorn walked into. |
