I am sure that this has been brought up, but I have looked through about 25 pages of the charop board and haven't seen it.

I want to have a Fighter-type character that wields a ridiculously huge two-handed weapon. This character will be a humorous villain character for the group I DM for. Yes, similar to Cloud Strife, various other video game and anime characters etc.

I need a primarily martial/melee character about level 10-15, preferably medium size, that can proficiently use a huge (or bigger) weapon. I don't need this character to be especially well balanced or powerful.

A few levels of spellcaster or other sort of non-fighter class would be fine. Even tons of multiclassing if necessary.

So far, all I have is using Monkey Grip to wield a Large greataxe/greatsword, and maybe the spell Enlarge Weapon from Complete Scoundrel. Any published class/feat/spell/item/enchantment is fair game.

Thanks, anyone who helps.

A literal reading of the Titan bloodline (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/bloodlines.htm#titan) lets you use a gargantuan weapon, regardless of your own size.

You get the special ability "Use Oversized Weapon" which has for its description "As the titan special ability".

The titan entry says "A titan wields a great, two-handed warhammer (big enough for Gargantuan creatures) without penalty." :D

Goliath and Half-Giant (RoS + XPH/SoX) both have powerful build, wich lets them wield large weapons without penalty, with monkey grip you can wield a huge weapon.

Taking a more conservative reading of the Titan bloodline (+1 size category).

Goliath + Monkey-grip + Titan Bloodline + Enlarge Weapon
= Large -> Huge -> Gargantuan -> Colossal
That's about an 80' blade, although only a 5' reach!

(with a literal reading take Titan bloodline and Enlarge Weapon for a colossal weapon, you could even be a halfling or gnome and use it)

As for a build, it doesnt really matter as long as it has the right race, bloodline, 1 feat and a magic item that can activate Enlarge Weapon.

Balanced weapon from the A&EG might help.

*sigh*

Powerful Build and Monkey Grip don't stack. They do exactly the same thing.

Edit: And secondly, this is far from an original idea: Linky (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=8762551&postcount=331)

Things that have the same effect only don't stack if they are from the same source. If powerful build said 'allows you to used oversized weaponry, as the Monkey Grip feat' (or visa versa) or it mentioned it didn't stack with other abilities that have the same effect, then that's be the case, but it's not. This has been discussed at length before, and neither side of the argument could agree, so it'd be best not to start it up here again.

If you want to be human there is a weapon enhancement I found in the Magic Item Compendium (probably printed elsewere as well), although I can't remember the name, which works like powerful build (and doesn't stack with it).

Powerful Build states that you can "use weapons designed for a creature one size category larger" (among other things). It doesn't specify whether it's one size category larger than you are or one size category larger than you normally could.

Monkey grip specifically mentions "melee weapons one size category larger than you are". Since the size of a Goliath or Half Giant is Medium, Monkey Grip specifically allows them to wield Large weapons, an ability they already have since Large weapons are designed for use by Large creatures, which are one size category larger than Medium.

In short, it's not the same effect, only a similar one.

Now, if we use the second interpretation of Power Build's weapon-wielding aspect (that is, "one size category larger than you normally could"), then Powerful Build and Monkey Grip stack if and only if we are allowed to apply the effects of the feat before the effects of the racial trait-- which, to me, is absurd.

Go with a Goliath/Half-Giant, Titan Bloodline, Psychic Warrior with an augmented Expansion for a two size category boost.

You end up with:

Large (Powerful Build) + Huge (Titan Bloodline) + Gargantuan (1 size Expansion Power) + Colossal (2 size Augmented Expansion Power)

Makes for some fun damage as you wield and Power Attack with a Colossal Greathorn Minotaur Greathammer, with Improved Crit cheese as well.

Played in a game with one of these and against a single opponent, we made it through 2 of this character's 5 attacks before the BBEG was a puddle of red goo on the dungeon floor.

Unfortunately, the Enlarge Weapon spell specifically states that it doesn't work if already under a size increasing effect. :(
