| Andhor10-01-07, 08:06 AM | Hi folks, is there any way/license to use d20 in a computer-based rpg? Cheers, Andhor |
| Pavitra10-01-07, 04:48 PM | The SRD license may be compatible with a CRPG project, but as I am neither a qualified lawyer nor closely familiar with the license I can only offer this as a suggestion, not a recommendation. Does anyone actually know whether this would be appropriate, or is it the sort of ambiguous situation that needs to be tested in court? |

If you are considering slapping on the trademarked d20 System square logo on your electronic product, be it on the package or displayed even briefly on the screen when the software is running, then don't go there. :noway: The d20 System Trademark License -- which refers to the Trademark Usage Guide -- expressly forbid using the logo as well as some of their trademark on "Interactive Game" without their express permission. If you are not using the trademarked d20 System square logo and you do not say that the game is based on "Dungeons & Dragons" game nor use any trademark that does not belong to you without permission, then go ahead with the Open Gaming License. |

Let their lawyers sort them out. Don't worry, I'll make sure you get the credit too, Boxcarwilli. |

Thanks, as a reward I would like to use the d20 system logo on a game of my own. Kidding, would be nice though. Hmm, maybe they got approval to use it? |
| heruca12-01-07, 05:04 AM | Maybe they can use the logo because d20Pro isn't technically a game, but rather a virtual tabletop program (i.e., just a toolset for collaborating online). |
