| Naiilo07-14-04, 10:29 PM | *Bows* Thank you Milady. Larinthiose's necklace, explained as a silvef band that looks as if it's "flowing" around his neck, has an ever-acting Dimension Door. When he first recieved it, he couldn't control it and for a long time he kept shifting when he didn't want to. But now he has Silver Strand and Blink. Silver Strand, his right handed rapier, has the opposite effect that the ability Silver Cord has (I.E. Instead of cutting the Silver Cord of planar travelers, it gives non-planar travelers and Silver Strand, and at will Larinthiose can send those connected through any plane he has visited before.) Blink is named after the spell it has imbued. Like the spell, the blade itself hops through Ethereal and Prime Material (Giving it nice bonuses) but it also counter-acts the Dimension Door effect of the necklace, and now Larinthiose can call when he wants to either effect. That's why I like him so much. Le` Lorinel is a different matter. If you've ever read R.A. Salvatore, you'll notice the name. It's actual elvish and it actually means "To you to me", as in show me friendship and you shall have friendship. But it can also mean Unto you what's been done unto me." as in Revenge. Le` Lorinel is an elf of a noble family and his family was assassinated by The Chain Man, a being said to be immortal (when in actuallity it's just one man and when he comes close to dying he chooses an apprentice to master the "Chain".) To hunt The Chain Man, Le` Lorinel had to become an assassin. Last reports of The Chain Man's were-abouts put him in the Underdark, on a mission to kill a whole Drow Family. He is a really interesting character, and alot more complex than just this underlying story. Many a thing happened in his life after his family murder to complicate things beyond belief. If I ever figure out this character (which ironically, is my own character, I came up with all the stories in his life, and I can't even figure him out.), I'll most likely like him more than Larinthiose. Think Artemis Entreri when he said "Layer upon layer, like an intricately weaved spider web." This is Le` Lorinel's life. |

| Naiilo07-14-04, 11:02 PM | Did I forget to mention.......Le`Lorinel's elven family was targeted by The Chain Man (the most prominent and expensive assassin in the history of the land,) because his families blood carried Psionics, which Le`Lorinel inherited. (Hence the ability to move so fast, the dagger simply being pulled out of the ground and sent so easily into a spin with his other blades without him touching it, and the dagger's disappearing.) Sorry malik21, my characters are full of surprises. PS: malik21: Larinthiose and Malik have some history together, considering at this moment he just asked you a question within The Trial of Khaira thread, and this event in the Darkhole Inn takes place after the Trial, according to what Larinthiose said. Perhaps we could play off this? |

| Naiilo07-15-04, 12:16 AM | Thinking of opening my own tavern of sorts. Info: Redbark Clearing The town of Dimmel sits upon the fringes of the world's largest forest, The Redbark Woods. Once the home of a brilliant goddess, now the Redbark Woods has a clearing in which a magical dome was set over. Always a perfect day and always welcoming any who seek refuge, The Redbark Clearing is an outside tavern that's encased within a magical dome. Anyone interested. The forest spans almost a continent and the dome has a circumference of close to 45000 feet. The walls are trees, the bar's and cut down tree stumps that have been sanded down and put together. Everything is natural pretty much. I thought i sounded cool. lol |

| Naiilo07-18-04, 07:14 PM | The Layers! Ok, all, most of the truth (Well as much as I know at least) of Le`Lorinel. His family, the Dragondell's, were entrusted millenia's ago to hold a very special power, the power of the dragon's. Each family member is a potential Dragon Disciple, early members close to the occurence of the gift were even born half-dragon, but as time lipped away, the blood of the dragon's faded also. In hopes of activating the hidden power, the family member's began dabbling in Psionics (It is known that if your around psionics enough, your mind begins to open up to it as well), and eventually that became a family heritage also. Le`Lorinel is a special case. Growing up he always felt outcast, and caused alot of trouble due to it, but he was always welcome at home, only strengthining his ties to his family. (So there, being an outcast, is what gives him rogue levels). When his family was brutally murdered, his hidden psionic powers emerged, and they were mostly uncontrollable for a time (giving him his Wilder levels). Once under control, he bagn his ascent into the guild known as X'eltairk Taymarkian or Deadly Shadows (giving him his assassin levels.) Here's where it gets interesting. Upon reaching a certain skill within the profession of assassination (1st-10th level in PnP, asassins get arcane spells and they cast them just as bards do), some of the more skilled one's are trained in the arcane arts, to better there already natural skill. When Le`Lorinel achieved such training, something ignited within him that he could not resist (A pre-requisite for Dragon Disciple is the ability to cast arcane magic without preparation. Under the bard spells, the bard casts arcane spells without preparation, and under the assassin spell description, the assassin casts spells just like the bard making, yes!, the Assassin an eligible class to become a dragon disciple). Following this calling, soon the asassin became fully aware of what it is within him! So far thats where he's at in PnP: He's a lvl 19 Rogue, 9 wilder, 10 assassin, 10 Dragon Disciple. |

But truly, you have, bar known, a very cool character. It'd be fun for Archangel Midknight and Christopher to fight someday (I've been using Archangel for over three years now, and he's over, yes OVER, level 100, not to mention, as his name implies, he's an angel, but not just any celestial angel, he's THE Archangel lol. I and my brother DM's, use him as an insanely powerful enemy when our groups think too much of themselves :D |
