| Lolita05-17-05, 08:19 PM | After finishing painting a brand new sign with curly fancy letters that read : Demon's Sanctum, Specialty Magic Items , the slender pale skinned, long haired woman stepped outside of the little shop and hung the sign up beside the window. Standing to admire her work, a devious smirk spread across her face. 'Looks like I'm finally back in business,' she thought to herself. After packing up her old shop, Naki had gone back down to the Undercities of her kind, or at least some of her kind. She was a kitsune, a shapeshifting fox/human. A year went by where Naki spent her time alone, but she longs to return to the surface. So here she was now, dressed in a fairly new red and black kimono, although her heart felt empty ever since her companion Darktooth and her had gone seperate ways. Perhaps destiny would bring them back together again? ((Anyone is welcome to join in! Demon's Sanctum is a magic store of sorts..)) |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 08:51 PM | The door of the Sanctum flies open, slamming shut as a black blur zooms to the upper corner near the stairs of the main room. Appearing as the shadow falls away is a 20 something year old human male, with giant black dragon wings. His eyes are dark, his hair is dark and spiky. And he smiles when he sees Naki. James Darktooth jumps off the wall, comes down, and hugs the kitsune. Heya, Naki. How are you? |
| Lolita05-17-05, 08:57 PM | Naki lets out a startled shriek and struggles for a monet, before realizing it is no foe... And when she realizes specifically who it is, she blushes but accepts his embrace. "I wasn't expecting to see you anytime soon..." she says with a giddy smile, very unlike her, "I was just opening the shop when I thought of you... yet here you are." She makes her way across the room to stand beside the front counter to gaze over at Darktooth with her slanted eyes. |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 09:04 PM | Well, it is the most amazing thing. He coughs. I have a few friends in the Undercity who gladly kept me informed on your movements, and I've been watching since the Sanctum appeared in this city. I was merely passing by when some guards cornered me, making me charge in here. I do hope the illusions are still working? He smiles, knowing she'll see through the lie. He was here because he missed her, and wished to help once again with the store. Kissing her lightly heading into the back room, he calls, Anything you need brought out? |
| Lolita05-17-05, 09:07 PM | "Don't you step one foot in there, James! I've just unpacked everything nice and neatly, and I don't need you creating any chaos! I remember very well your nature," she reproaches playfully, coming to the backdoor and placing herself between it and him. (( :P )) |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 09:17 PM | Dear, why would I create chaos? I just got here, and there is no reason, as of yet, to make things difficult. Though if I remember correctly it was often you messing up my lab downstairs. He kisses her once, ducking around her, into the store room. |
| Lolita05-17-05, 09:20 PM | Naki sighs and lets him slip by before letting a gentle smile spread wide across her face. "Take a look back there and tell me if I'm missing anything that I should need in stock," she insists, brushing back her hair and peeking into the back room after him. |
| Lord Tarran05-18-05, 06:02 PM | "Well I can tell you right now that we are going to need to totally restock in my potion making supplies. I have some secreted away at my home, but if I'm to get back into the swing of things, I'll need much more. I don't suppose you can get your hands on a lot of greymold and mandrake really quickly can you?" |
| Lolita05-18-05, 06:09 PM | "Do you think any of that would grow naturally around this region? I honestly don't know..." she replies, crossing her arms across her chest and tilting her head slightly. "No matter! I'll look it up... in a book... if I could find where they are..." Naki remarks, glancing about the back room and then wandering out into the main room, pondering as to where she left the stack of Ingridient Reference books. "Curses... I'll go look upstairs, although the rooms up there are still quite cluttered from when I moved in," she finally says, gliding across the floor and ascending the stairs to disappear for awhile. |
| Master_of_Flames05-18-05, 09:17 PM | "This looks like the place", Chath said to his twin as they walked into the shop. "Indeed. A rather homely looking place though.", Niar replied to her brother, looking around the shop. They walked over to the desk and, instead of ringing the bell like expected, they each threw down a thunderstone on the floor. |
| Lord Tarran05-18-05, 09:20 PM | Darktooth explodes from the inner room, flinging many sharp daggers at the twins. He leaps to cling on the ceiling, a ball of darkness in his hand. What are you doing here, attackers? |
| Master_of_Flames05-18-05, 09:27 PM | Niar pulls out her two daggers from her belt, both of them sapphire in color and glowing with a blue green hue. When the daggers flew towards the two, Niar slashed the air with the daggers, cutting a hole in the air and leaving only a blackness. The daggers were drawn towards the hole and dissapeared, along with the hole. "Attackers? No, we are here to-" "-Purchase. There was no one here to be seen-" "So we decided to send out a call for who ever operates this place." |
| Lord Tarran05-18-05, 10:13 PM | And city guards for miles around you fools! My illusion hides the buildings from law enforcement, not noises within. The bell is here for a reason. Darktooth comes off the walls, to stand behind the counter. However, you are here now, and I don't see any guards. What can I do you for? |
| Master_of_Flames05-18-05, 10:29 PM | "We are looking for weapons", Chath replied, not going to mention the fact that the city is in suspended animation. 'Specifically daggers. Artifects if you have them." Niar said. |
| Lolita05-18-05, 11:24 PM | Naki comes rushing down the wooden stairs, alarmed and expecting the worse. In her slender arms she holds a few near ancient looking tomes... before dropping them and shuffling down the last few stairs to pick them up. "By the gods, you had me scared!" she exclaims, gliding across the room to the front desk to set the books down and glance up at her customers. "My store specializes in organic items, artifacts, but rarely... weapons. I may have picked up a few select daggers though, I'd have to go look in the stores around back," she greets, trying to recall if she had picked up anything that fit their description. |
| Lolita05-21-05, 02:06 PM | Naki emerges from the back room, a collection of small shealthed daggers in her arms. She sets them all down on the counter in a row, seven daggers total. "This one," she says, touching the first dagger that sat in a red shealth with a silver hilt, "I found this in an ambushed camp that was left burnt to cinders... I have a sneaking suspicion that there's another just like it. She explained the rest of the daggers but one. They all seemed to not fit the twins description very well. "But this one is strange..." Naki continued, drawing the last dagger from its plain leather shealth to show off its obsidian black blade. She shakes her head and sets it down, saying, "I have yet to discover its abilities. They have been locked up." Naki awaits the reaction of her customers. |
| lightman05-21-05, 08:17 PM | A hobgoblin works in slowely. Hello, I'm Isadara, a cleric of Kord and a demon hunter. I'm new here, and I would like to ask for some directions. |
| Lord Tarran05-21-05, 10:10 PM | Darktooth springs at the dagger, trying to take it away from Naki. His eyes are wide, as he sheaths the dagger away in a pouch at his side. Sorry, this blade is not for sale. He apologizes. I'm truly sorry Naki, I didn't think this one got mixed in with the other merchandise. Talk to me about this later, this could be a problem if more of my toys ended up in the stock. He stands then, self concious as Isadara enters the shop. How may I help you sir? There is nothing about this city that I do not know. |
| lightman05-22-05, 07:00 AM | Do you know of a good adventuring team? I really could use one to help me fight a demon right now. |
| Lolita05-22-05, 09:53 AM | Naki coughs as she takes offense to the demon comment. She begins to gather up the blades though, afraid that they weren't what the twins were looking for. She turns lightly and says, "Your toy? I wouldn't exactly call this a plaything..." She nods at the dark blade. |
| Lord Tarran05-25-05, 05:45 PM | "I'm sorry, Isadara. I do not deal with the kind of adventurers you generally do. I would suggest checking at the Safe Haven across town, they might know. " Darktooth turns to Naki. "You know what I mean. It is a plaything considering the other devices. Is the Null Space Hold still operational, or is another of the fixes I have to add to the list?" |
| Lolita05-25-05, 06:51 PM | "There's nothing to fix, though. I thought I might keep this place as normal as possible, since human migration is quite heavy through this area. If there's ever any kind of attack we could hold our own," she says quickly and rather hushed. |
| Lord Tarran05-25-05, 07:17 PM | Doesn't mean we should get it up and running if we find more of my things, Naki. |
| Lolita05-25-05, 11:50 PM | Naki shoots him a mock evil glare before turning to put the daggers away. "Yes well... sunset is in less than an hour... I have some errands to tend to tonight. I trust you to take care of the place," she says calmly, going about her business of locking up the back room and then smoothing out her silken hair. |
| Bewildered06-07-05, 01:13 PM | Wandering down the beaten path towards Demon's Sanctum Vuiil looks up. Finally, I'm back. Opening the door Vuiil struts into the store looking about him for the changes of time. Naaaakiiiii, Are you here? His robes are extremly intricate, dark blue and silver lined. His hair slicked back with bangs falling over his pale face. He seems more aged than last time but just as handsome. |
| Lolita06-07-05, 05:27 PM | Naki was just about to slip outside when the man enters, nearly bumping into her. She steps aside, her eyes searching his and her mind searching for a name. So familiar... "Vuiil...?" the name came slowly to her parted lips, "So it is you? How does life fare on the Surface?" |
| Bewildered06-16-05, 09:18 PM | All is well, I have, as you would say ... conquered my fears. Moving aside to be polite, he stares down at Naki wondering how life had treated her after he had left. So, you still with that... Dragon kin? Hunching down Vuill picks up a small pebble, but if Naki looks close enough she will notice Vuiil has what appears to be a giant burn mark on his palm. As he rolls the pebble it gradually turns bright red. |
| Arshes06-17-05, 02:44 AM | Hmm, hidden from normal view, the presence of a dragon descendent heavy in the air...this must be the place. If my sources are correct then the aristas should be buried under this building. Adrinth thought to himself as he walked into the shop. He wore a black robe with a orange colored eye on the front. Intricate patterns laced his cloak, forming a dazzling tapestry. |
| Lolita06-17-05, 12:26 PM | "Ah, Darktooth. We are life companions," she replies after a moment, and then as the robed newcomer steps in, "Welcome to my shop, traveller. What brings you here as the sun sets?" She keeps Vuiil in her sights as she greets the potential customer with a dazzling smile. |
| Bewildered06-17-05, 01:33 PM | Vuiil glares over at the cloaked newcomer. Deciding he isn't a threat Vuiil takes his eyes off the dragon and looks about the room. So, He says without looking at the dragon. What brings you about these parts? My friend Naki here has all the best merchandise. |
| Arshes06-17-05, 05:08 PM | I was wondering, did you find any gauntlets when you built this shop? Adrinth asked in an emotionless voice. |
| Lolita06-17-05, 08:24 PM | Naki silently and subconsiciously casts a charm spell, confident that the well-dressed newcomer wouldn't notice, and then she flashed him another brilliant smile before saying, "It is true that there were a few caverns underneath the foundation of my shop, and they have been cleared. So, I'm afraid... no. But would you like to see what I've picked up over my years of travelling? You seek gaunlets, right? Is there a specific maker that you're looking for?" |
| Arshes06-17-05, 11:14 PM | It is one made by the soulknife forger Malv'risse. It supposedly contains the power to double the strength of a mindblade, as well as allow the wielders mindblade to take on diffrent forms. Adrinth said. A smal blue orb floated out of his pocket, it blinked green several times. Is that so? Heh, may I suggest not tryinmg any compulsion spells on me miss, I wouldn't want to spill any blood in this shop. |
| Lord Tarran06-18-05, 12:17 AM | And I would care to tell you not to threaten the mistress, mind mage, Darktooth growls, dropping nearly to all fours to slink around the room like a large lizard. Otherwise it shall be your blood. |
| Arshes06-18-05, 12:36 AM | In one fluid motion Adrinth spun around, launched his arm out at the half-dragon, and a glowing red blade shot forth from his knuckles. Do not threaten me half-dragon, I did not come here looking for a fight. I would have gone to a bar for that. He looked over at Naki and said, Could you please call off your attack dragon? I have no patience for the weak of mind. I have come here to make a purchase, or make a bargain. He deactivated the blade and put his arm down. |
| Bewildered06-18-05, 10:36 AM | You two calm your spirits. Naki you wouldn't want me to have another relapse would you? Pointing at the mage Vuiil says, And you good sir I might ask that you show a tad bit more respect for the little lady. |
| Arshes06-18-05, 05:58 PM | Adrinth merely smiled a bit before replying, I am no mage, my dear friend. Heck, I'm not even a psion. He relaxed his muscles a bit, he was not up to a fight today and realy needed those guantlets. Al I stated is that the lady not try any spells on me. I have traveled quite a while to search for those guantlets, and the last known resting place was sold to this shop. |
| Lolita06-19-05, 12:03 PM | "Ack! Everyone, just calm down! We don't need to be so paranoid. I gladly asked if you would like to see my wares and now everyone is on edge!" she speaks quickly, bringing Darktooth to his feet. She smiles apologetically and turns away, her eyes narrowing, appearing more feral. "Let us do business, Adrinth. That's your name, right? Come now," Naki calls, going to the back room while the others stay at the front desk. |
| Bewildered06-26-05, 01:02 PM | **bump bump** |
| Lord Tarran06-26-05, 01:43 PM | Darktooth stands, somewhat pouty,as he backs himself towards the wall. Placing his hands on it, he climbs up, looking down upon the others. |
| Bewildered06-26-05, 02:58 PM | Well I must be going now I have buisiness of my own to attend to. With this Vuiil stands , cracks his neck and walks out. His whistles can be heard for almost a minute. |
| Darshendros06-26-05, 06:15 PM | Two cloaked figures stand outside the shop, with at least a foot difference in height between them. The smaller one was lithe, and his cloak was obviously a drow piwafwi cloak, if not of similar make. The taller figure's cloak seemed to blend in with the gloom around him, and his figure was a bit larger than its counterpart's, though still lean. Their hands and fingers moved through the intricate gestures of drow sign language. This is the place? the taller figure signed to the shorter. Cloaked in illusion magic, but nothing that can't get passed my eye. It just suddenly appeared one day while I was passing through, the shorter figure responded. I sense much magic in this place. Any wards against undead? Not that I'm aware of. The cloaked pair walked toward the shop, with the shorter entering first. The hood was pulled back, revealing the face of a young drow with stark white, short cropped white hair. He had a scar over his left eye, which seemed to give off a faint glow as he glanced around at the shop's displayed stock. He seemed uninterested though. The taller figure who accompanied him inside kept his hood up, with the cowl pulled low to conceal much of his face, except for his chin and mouth. The light tone of his skin revealed that, unlike his companion, he wasn't a dark elf. He glanced around as he walked past several shelves, heading up to the checkout counter. He then paused for a moment and glanced up to the ceiling. Blood red eyes glittered from underneath the shadowy cowl as he regarded the half dragon clinging to the wall. "Are you the owner of this shop?" asked a soft, yet deep-toned voice. |
| Lolita06-26-05, 11:33 PM | Naki steps forward with a thin smile on her lips as she looks the two up and down from head to toe. "I am the owner, yes, and who are you two? What a fine evening to be shopping, hmm?" she greeted, a bit surprised to have more business at sunset than during the day. She tilted her head as she spoke, her little habit, almost predatory instinct. |
| Darshendros06-27-05, 12:05 AM | "Ah, my mistake," Darshendros said, looking at the woman. "I am but a simple mage," he lied, "looking to see what wares I could find here. The drow is my apprentice." He had a charismatic charm in the way he talked, making mostly anything he said sound believable -no matter how unbelievable they might be. However, one could not rid themselves of the aura of undeath, which would be obviously apparent on him if she was keen to it. At the mention of the drow, the dark elf glanced over toward them for a moment, and then averted his gaze. He walked over to one of the display cases and feigned some interest in whatever it held. For an "apprentice", he did a good job of moving about without making a sound. |
| Arshes06-27-05, 12:33 AM | The drow are a cursed race who normaly consort with evil beings. Although, I really have no room to talk, having worked with one on many missions. Adrinth said, leaning against a wall. I can wait to see the gauntlets. If they are what I am searching for, than it will be worth it. |
| Darshendros06-27-05, 01:40 AM | Darsh glanced briefly to the male, wondering who had asked for his opinion. The drow said nothing. He was used to such criticism outside of his environment, and frankly didn't care what any lesser races thought. Darsh returned his attention to the shop owner, who's name he failed to pick up. |
| Arshes06-27-05, 01:55 AM | ((if you read all of it, there was both good and bad comments on that post.)) |
| Darshendros06-27-05, 02:01 AM | ((I know. Just stating characters' thoughts. ;p)) |
| Lolita06-27-05, 03:29 PM | "Well, my good mage , this store doesn't carry common items or scrolls. I have few select specific items and even fewer rarities. Perhaps if you dwell on your thoughts and think of something specific, I can see if I have anything of the sort," she replied to him, turning as she finshed to return to the back room to rummage about, picking through a few pairs of gauntlets to bring out. When she emerged, she held about 3 pairs, setting them all in a line on the counter for Adrinth to examine, carefully watching the two men standing nearby. Her lips twitched into a mischievious smile as she glanced at Darktooth. |
| Darshendros06-27-05, 04:46 PM | "Ah, I see. That's even better than I expected then." Darsh smiled softly, then turned to see what his "apprentice" was looking at. He glanced over his shoulder before turning his back to everyone else, nodding to the drow. This place may have what I am looking for, he signed. I could use a new dagger while you're at it, the drow replied. Darsh chuckled softly, lightly acquiescing to his request. He had caused the drow to lose his favorite dagger while fighting off a flock of harpies, and had been bugging him to replace it every since. Darsh walked back over to the counter, seeing the lady display some gauntlets for the other man to see. "Do you by chance have any enchanted daggers in stock?" he asked, "I am also looking for a rare item I haven't been able to find elsewhere. A Bloodstone." |
| Lolita06-27-05, 09:50 PM | Naki's inhuman eyes met with the mage's for an instant, then she replied, "Daggers? Yes, I just had two others see the daggers I have in stock earlier this afternoon. And as for the stone... hmm.." She ponders about the stone as she leans slightly and puts her hands on her hips, her dress flattering her womanly curves. "You should talk to my companion Darktooth on the Bloodstone. He can help you, I'm sure of it. I can show you the dagger collection in a moment after I've helped this customer with the gauntlets," she replies in sweet voice tinged with curiousity. 'Who are you...? Truly?' she inquired telepathically to him, hoping he wouldn't become alarmed. |
| Darshendros06-27-05, 10:04 PM | Darshendros smiled softly and nodded, stepping aside for now to patiently wait his turn. He glanced up to the half-dragon clinging to the wall, wondering if he was who she spoke of. He returned his gaze to her, hearing her voice in his thoughts. He didn't seem alarmed -there wasn't much these days that surprised him anymore- though probably a little irritated at the sudden intrusion. You can't handle the truth, he responded likewise, with a grin. |
| Lolita06-28-05, 03:51 PM | 'Or perhaps it is you that can't handle coming out of a shell? Very well, keep your secrets,' Naki replied in a matter-of-fact tone, still telepathically. |
| Lord Tarran06-28-05, 11:27 PM | Darktooth comes off the wall, looking happy to do business. He smiles easily, making it obvious to Dashendros only, with slight changes in his aura, that he too was a focus of negative energy, because of his unique heritage. He shuffles the larger male along slightly with his wing as the walk towards a counter hidden generally by the door that cleaned itself as they approached it. Well, Darktooth closes his eyes for a moment, as if concentrating, my vampiric, correct, friend I may have just what you want. He ducks out of sight a moment to look in a small box hidden beneath a shelf. Ah ha! He shouts, as he stands up holding a blood red stone, seeming to pulse slightly. Even better than a Bloodstone. How would you like a Heartstone? He glances to Naki, his thoughts hidden to others by both birthright, and their Bond, as he sends. I placed the void knifes back with my things, the others are where you had them originally. Also, watch the drow's hand. I've seen at least 10 gold of mundane merchandise disappear in the last few minutes. Also, could you warm up the undeath ward in the back. I think we might want it ready. |
| Lolita06-29-05, 03:46 PM | 'I have my eye on the gauntlets, the drow, and this customer before me. Do you think I can really spare some time to scramble about? No, I think we'll be okay for a moment until I've gotten some busniess out of the way,' she sent back to him, sounding rather frustrated. She still maintained her mischievious calm appearance though, despite her busy eyes. |
| Darshendros06-29-05, 04:34 PM | He pressed his tongue against the pointed canines in his mouth, figuring they were the basis for the mistaken identity. "Close enough," he replied to the half-dragon's vampire question. He raised a brow as he looked at the heartstone, inspecting it with an appraising eye. "Does it do the same thing as a bloodstone?" he asked. It was important that it did, for the experiments he needed to conduct, and without it he would be unable to continue them. He regretted having used his last bloodstone, so long ago. |
| Arshes06-29-05, 04:34 PM | Adrinth examined each gaunlet, then a topaz orb flaoted from his pocket and floated over each one in turn. It flashed brighter and dimmer, as if in some form of communication, at Adrinth. Are you sure? Hmm, then I guess this is the gauntlet. How much would it be? Adrinth asked, pulling out a bag filled with platinum coins. A lash of energy shot out of the orb and floated the bag in front of Naki. |
| Lolita06-29-05, 07:04 PM | Naki picked up an exceptional pair of gauntlets that appeared fairly new. Her eyebrow arched for a moment as she watched him pull out his money. "Hmm... what shall we charge?" she muttered to herself, "I'm a nice fox, I'll say 3,500 gold pieces." |
| Lord Tarran07-04-05, 02:00 PM | Darktooth smiles, revealing pointed teeth of his own. It depends, sir. What exact function of bloodstones do you need in this rock here? |
| Darshendros07-04-05, 10:50 PM | Darsh tilted his head slightly, looking at the half-dragon questionably. "What other function is there," he said, "other than the exchange of souls between bodies?" |
| Arshes07-04-05, 10:56 PM | Naki picked up an exceptional pair of gauntlets that appeared fairly new. Her eyebrow arched for a moment as she watched him pull out his money. "Hmm... what shall we charge?" she muttered to herself, "I'm a nice fox, I'll say 3,500 gold pieces." A few platinum coins floated out of the bag and into Adrinths pocket. The rest of the bag went into Naki's hand. Let me just show you an example of the gauntlets power... Adrinth said, donning the gauntlet. A blue-white shaft of energy appeared and snaked its way over to Darktooth, cutting a hole in the ceiling. (( :P i bet you never saw that one coming!)) |
| Darshendros07-07-05, 07:21 PM | Darsh glanced out of the corner of his eye at the incoming energy, leaning back, and staring up at the new hole in the ceiling. He sighed and shook his head, muttering something about those with the lack of self-control to properly display an item's power. He glanced back to notice the drow having vanished, but he had an idea of where he might be. Not here, Chaz, he sent out telepathically. As soon as he warned the drow off, Chaszmyr suddenly reappeared a foot or so behind Adrinth, walking away from him and back to the spot he was previously at, a dagger slipping under the folds of his cloak as he went back to looking at some more displayed baubles. |
| Lolita07-07-05, 07:35 PM | Naki's eyes narrow into thin slits as she says, "I do not appreciate that." |
| Arshes07-07-05, 09:58 PM | I just wanted to make sure the gauntlet worked. But don't worry, the energy wasn't strong enough to do anything but give him an itch in the area. Adrinth said before heading out the door. |
| Lolita07-07-05, 11:51 PM | Naki raises an eyebrow as he hasily leaves the shop. No matter... profit was made. She stashed the coins away in her kimono and made her way towards the drow with a welcoming smile on her face. "Can I help you with something?" she asks, tilting her head slightly. |
| Darshendros07-08-05, 05:16 PM | The drow glanced at her with a cold, deadly stare. His scarred eye was glowing as he looked at her, able to see the aura of magic from any enchanted items that were upon her person. "I am just looking," he replied softly in thickly accented Common, "while I wait for the Master." |
| Lolita07-08-05, 08:16 PM | Naki senses his uneasiness and manifests a slight charm on him. "Interested in anything?" she asks sweetly. Hopefully she could get him talking... |
| Lord Tarran07-08-05, 09:20 PM | Darktooth smiles, with a glimmer in his eye. You don't know the other properties of bloodstones? My, my! Well, bloodstones, when treated with the proper chemicals and spells, can produce a quantity of blood similar in composition of a female elf virgin. Heartstones can do so for eternity, though it takes longer to build up the sufficent amout of blood. I have heard of bloodstones being used not to switch souls, but instead to switch health, or other bodily matters of paralelel nature. He looks up, his tongue snaking out like a snake's as he thinks. He meet's Darsh's eyes again. And I've heard that Heartstones can be used to forever fuel blood-dependent undeads if transplanted for their own hearts. |
| MaskedOne07-09-05, 01:38 AM | A young human of about 20, garbed in black walks in, holding a simple wooden staff. His eyes and face reveal nothing but his stride bears just a hint of authority as if in another time and place, he would be considered royalty. For those who are sensitive to such things, the air around him is thick with tightly restrained magical power. What would the elders want with this place? At a glance, it has interesting wares but I doubt there's anything of interest here that they can't recreate and possibly improve upon. Glancing over at the drow and the woman talking to him: That woman fits the description, I was given of the store owner. "M'am, does this store keep Wraith Spider silk by chance?" |
| Lolita07-09-05, 12:02 PM | Naki turns, letting the drow escape conversation and breaking the charm she had on him, to gaze searchingly towards the human. Her eyes flicker and she puts on her welcoming smile, making her way over to him, her kimono hugging her curves. "Wraith Spider silk? In its raw form? No... but only as a few yards of woven fabric," she replies, glancing upwards into nothingness as she ponders his request. "Might I ask you what you're aiming to do with silk like that?" she inquires, tilting her head slightly with a small grin. In the corner of her vision she could see the drow gazing blankly at all the items on display. |
| MaskedOne07-09-05, 12:26 PM | "I have a relative who weaves enchanted garments. I provide a sample of material that she hasn't worked with once a year. This year she like silk." The perks of a family of magic users, that was actually rather honest of me. Whoever wrote the description didn't give this woman proper credit for charm, she's very good. Now will she be unwise enough to try and directly enchant me or will she stick to the safer methods? |
| Lolita07-09-05, 02:32 PM | She stares at him, unblinking, and then a smile twitches across her face. "Very well," she says, after taking in the information he had given her. She sensed no lie, and didn't feel the need to search his thoughts or even charm him. Her natural charm would work nicely. "If you'll just give me a moment, I need to fetch the fabric from upstairs," she says, backing away and then turning to head for the stairs. She brushes past Darktooth and tells him silently, 'Keep a watchful eye for just a moment, dear.' Then she hustles up the stairs and is gone for now. |
| MaskedOne07-09-05, 02:38 PM | The human nods and waits, scanning the room with magically enhanced senses and a lasting enchantment that allows him to see magical energies. |
| Darshendros07-09-05, 04:52 PM | "Hmm," Darsh brought a hand to his chin to rub in thought, "The Bloodstones of this world must differ from others. I have no use for virgin blood. I don't dabble much in that type of magic. How about Soul Gems? My supply of them is running low and I have not enough materials yet to refill my stock." * * * The drow felt a slight warming in his mind, his perception of her changing to something... what? He was unfamiliar with this feeling, and didn't know why he would be feeling it all of a sudden. He closed his eyes and shook his head, trying to shake it off. He felt compelled to ask about a particular magical object he had heard about, and seen on one occassion, having wondered where he could acquire such an item himself. "I am interested in a particular item of magic, one that gives the wearer an endless supply of magical throwing daggers. I've seen such an item before, but the wearer was beyond my skill, and reach, to dare ask about it." ((I don't come online for a day and everyone's posting. Eesh! x.x)) |
| Lolita07-10-05, 01:19 AM | ((don't worry, darsh, you won't be left behind!)) Naki emerges from the flight of stairs with a yard of pale silk in her arms. She nods towards the human, and then upon hearing the drow finally speak, she smiles. "That sounds like a very exotic item..." she replies, intrigued thouroughly as she passes the drow on her way to the human. And then quickly to the human, "You said you needed just a sample? I'll make this a bargain and say 500 gold for this last yard I have." Naki waits to hear his reply, hoping the small charm on the drow wouldn't wear off until she could get to him again. |
| MaskedOne07-10-05, 01:45 AM | The human nods and a whispers a soft word. A large bag appears in the air in front of him. He then pulls a small, seemingly empty pouch out of a sleeve of his robe, holds it upside down over the bag and says clearly, "Gold, 500 pieces." Gold starts pouring out of the pouch into the larger bag. Looking up at the store owner, "This may take a while. Small pouches are wonderful for transport but only so much gold can pass through them at a time." A very useful function, seeing as time to look this place over is high on my list of immediate priorities. |
| Lolita07-10-05, 01:44 PM | Naki gives him a satisfied look before glancing near the drow again. The drow race had always piqued her interest... yet it seemed this one might be taking leave soon with his 'master'. "Do you always enjoy looking at every little detail in a store you enter, or is my shop just unique?" she asks the human, a smirk forming on her lips. |
| MaskedOne07-11-05, 12:47 AM | The human grins slightly. "Of course your store is unique, M'lady. However, I pay close attention to most things." How many half-truths can I spin in one day? Directly lying would be risky even though the odds of her penetrating the defenses on my mind are about nil. |
| Lolita07-11-05, 01:39 PM | "You don't have to be on guard here, I assure you," she informs, sneaking a glance to her right, towards Darktooth. It seemed business was going smoothly this evening. She stifles a quick yawn and takes the coin. It vanishes into her hand, teleporting itself somewhere safe upstairs with the rest of her money. |
| MaskedOne07-11-05, 06:04 PM | The human comments in a flat tone: "The last time I heard that line, the speaker tried to stick a poisoned dagger in my back very soon after. I believe I'll keep my own counsel on when to let down my defenses." |
| Lolita07-11-05, 06:42 PM | "Whatever you like, darling," she commented, amused greatly. |
| MaskedOne07-11-05, 09:51 PM | The human shakes his head at something. "While I'm using up time, do you also have phase spider silk and 2 unenchanted mythril blades?" |
| Darshendros07-11-05, 11:05 PM | While Chaszmyr waited for the shopkeeper's reply on whether or not she had such an item in stock or not, Darshendros cast an amused glanced over to his counterpart. He knew the drow had been seeking such an item, after an unfortunate encounter with a certain mercenary leader that nearly cost him his life, were it not for Darsh's intervention, but he didn't think he'd be so bold as to ask for one. The drow preferred taking the things he wanted off the corpse of their previous owner. He chuckled softly and returned his gaze over to Darktooth. "So, about those Soul Gems," he reminded. |
| Lolita07-22-05, 03:03 PM | Naki yawns briefly, taking her profit with her towards the stairs. She peeks out the small window once, seeing the moon rising, and then gives a sharp look to Darktooth. "It has gotten rather late, please try to wrap business up, dear," she says to him quietly before stifling yet another quick yawn. She was anxious to set out for the night on her 'errands'. |
