OOC: This is a shop which primarily deals with potions, but there are some other magic items on sale too. This shop's ownership is in the hands of Dralix the half-forest troll Druid/Ardent/Geopsychic.

This shop is located right next to the Battle Royale (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=690947) at Sorcen's Baator. /OOC.

BIC: You approach a small hut. It has few signs nailed on it. The biggest of them just says:

"Dralix's Potion Shop"

The second-biggest says: "Healing is free to everybody... EXCEPT KOBOLDS".

As you step inside the hut, you notice a very strange smell as there is smoke coming from some of the strange machines that the owner propably uses to make the potions in the shelves. The amount of potions is simply overwhelming, and they come in various shapes, colors and sizes.

Among the potions, you can see few other magic items, including few dusty tomes, pieces of jewellery and also some weapons and shields on the walls.

Behind the counter, you can see a large sign that says:

You don't want to try stealing anything in this shop, for each item is enchanted to move into another plane of existense if nothing is paid for it.

Septimus enters the potion shop without leaving the other place he's in.

"Hello, my good man. What is it you sell here?"
Revlis_Nogard

11-25-06, 03:11 PM
Revlis strides into the potion shop and takes a look around.

Hmmm....I see your supplies are not quite full yet. If you need my assistance, I'm happy to be of help. I'll grow anything you need, and I'm not too bad of an alchemist. I've spent a lot of time in the wild.

A finely crafted metal creature walks through the door. Its clockwork insides whir and churn delicately as it gracefully stalks its way through the shop. It's obvious that there is little in the world capable of rivaling the workmanship used to create it: pieces so small they are almost impossible to see perform functions to complex to comprehend, and everything ticks away in perfect order and harmony.

Approaching the counter, the construct speaks in a fluid yet mechanical voice.

Hello.

I. Am. Number. 352.

You. Probably. Don't. Know. My. Creator. But. My. Programming. Alerts. Me. That. This. Shop. May. Be. Of. Interest. To. Him.

Maybe. You. Have. Heard. Of. Him.

He. Is. Quite. Well. Known. Throughout. The. Multiverse. For. His. Magical. Creations.

His. Name. Is. Gideon. Gideonson.

Do. You. Know. Of. Him.

An echoing, sphecural voice answers, dripping with malice.

"I do, construct. He does good work. That trick with the immovable rod was particularly cruel. I approve."

A pale, translucent man walks, literally, through the door. His hair is gray, and well kept. Piercing red eyes view you all through his large bangs. You can feel it, feel the ineffable malice pouring from this ghost's soul.

"I think it's time I joined your little game here. Simply watching the slaughter has grown...boring. And when one is already dead, being bored is a fate far worse than oblivion. But, let us see what wares you have here. My flesh may no longer know what it is to drink again, but you appear to have more than potions, devil."

He stares at each of you in turn, and deep in your soul, you shudder in fear.

"Yes...I will enjoy this."

As the ghostly figure leers at those around them, hoping to instill a foremost foreboding fear, a cheerful fairy 'POPS' into existence and exclaims:

"My Dear Daunting Departed Denizen, I'm afraid you've made a small breech in Freedom of Destiny." http://members.shaw.ca/cquigley/pictures/cry.gif
He stares at each of you in turn, and deep in your soul, you shudder in fear."You can not state that these Peacefully Pondering Potion Buyers are shaken by your Very Scary Visage, because you can not take control of the actions of any character except your own. It is up to them to decide how they react to your Truly Terrific Treatment of Terror, not you. Please try wording future posts like this." :dancin: He stares at each of you in turn, deep into your soul, with a presence that would shake even the most stalwart of men."This conveys that your scary without imposing on the other character's Freedom of Destiny. If you'd like to learn more about Freedom of Destiny, please look over this short article (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=5890266&postcount=1). Thank you so much for your time, and have fun."

And with that, the little fairy 'POOFS' out of existence.

OOC: Just so that you know, my current character and the owner of this shop is a
HALF-FOREST TROLL named Dralix, not my earlier character, Darshg the Horned devil.

BIC: "Everyone, welcome to my shop. I have not managed to receive all of my supplemental goods yet and my inventory lacks some of my usual specialities. However, I can assure that even before my stock is complete, you can still buy whatever you find in my shop. Well... except for that!"

The half-forest troll points at the green bastard sword inside of a glass cube.

"That sword belonged to my father, so that is not for sale. Oh, and anyone who is in need of healing may come here to get patched up for free... anyone but kobolds."
SeptimusMagistos

11-26-06, 11:44 AM
Septimus Magistos rummages looks around the shop, hoping to find something he's been looking for for a long time.
Larz_Fang

11-27-06, 04:15 AM
Dralix sets his eyes on Revlis.

"Greetings, could you tell me your name? I'd appreciate your help, but I hope you understand how QUITE out of order would it be if we weren't introduced. As you already know due to my shop's name, I am Dralix, and if you haven't heard of me I am the most powerful druid ever walked the world of Danaroth."

Then he examines the construct.

"Well well well, a big shiny metal-man. I haven't heard of your creator yet, but he must be an artificer of epic skill, since he can craft such fine constructs such as yourself. You might want to report him that I might have some items that he might find intersting."

"As for you, wizard, take your time. If you find something that is of intrest to you, just let me know.
Steropes

11-27-06, 08:45 AM
A man in blue and golden rope steps in to store. He appears to be human, but there is something that suggest he is not one. He speaks in hissing manner and asks about the dusty tomes from the shopkeeper.
Larz_Fang

11-27-06, 08:57 AM
"There are some tomes here that I have gathered on my travels. They are mostly just normal books, but some of them are in fact spellbooks that I have gathered from dead wizards."
Gideon_Gideonson

11-27-06, 11:02 AM
I. Will. Do. So.

The construct departs, sweeping gracefully out of the shop.
Gideon_Gideonson

11-27-06, 11:11 AM
After a few minutes, someone enters. A short man, his beard neatly trimmed in the latest gnommish fashion, walks into the shop, his brown leather trenchcoat sweeping behind him. It looks like Gideon, but has both arms and occasionally whirs and clicks. However, it must be connected with him somehow, for its eyes revel an intelligence far beyond anything a construct could ever hope to accomplish.

When it speaks, it uses Gideon's voice.

So...what here would be of interest to me?

Oh...don't mind the Aleax...its not hostile. Luckily I managed to convert it...you'd think Vecna would know better than to send a construct after me, wouldn't you?
Larz_Fang

11-27-06, 11:20 AM
"So, you didn't make that automaton that was there few minutes ago? You must be better than I imagined before. Well, although my store is specialized in potions, there are some other magic items and machine parts that I have gathered in my travels. You see that one over there?"

Dralix points to a black part of machinery on a lower shelf.

"That one I found in mysterious ruins of some long-forgotten ancient race. From what I know it is either a part of a golem-like construct or a powered infantry combat armor. That's what my friend told me."
Revlis_Nogard

11-27-06, 01:10 PM
Revlis sits down on the floor and surveys the shop.

Of course, introductions would be appropriate. My name is Revlis. I'm not a druid per se, but I've taught a lot of druids everything they know.
Gideon_Gideonson

11-27-06, 02:14 PM
No, you misunderstand. I built that creature. This being, however, the one speaking, is a mere shell. A duplicate of me sent after my by Vecna after I...well, that's another story. I've stolen it from him...it has its uses.

As for that machine...how much do you want for it? I could use that.

The Aleax turns around at Revlis's voice.

Revlis, you old dog! What the hells are you doing here? I thought you were done adventuring! Didn't you settle in that forest ages ago?
Lord_Gareth

11-27-06, 03:02 PM
Valoran steps through a shelf to get in the view of the Aleax.

"My greetings, Gideon. Your cruel efficiency is something to be admired. I almost feel pain just watching you fight."

The ghost bows low, his head passing through the Aleax.

"My apologies, sir troll, but it appears I cannot touch any of your fine wares, and as such, they are useless to me. I wish you best of luck in your endeavor, however, and will continue to look at the items. A few of them have dark secrets that may prove entertaining once exposed."
Revlis_Nogard

11-27-06, 03:55 PM
Gideon? GIDEON?! It is you! I finally found you!

Revlis walks over to Gideon and a gives him a big hug. After realizing that he is a panda, and Gideon is a small man, he quickly lets go and allows Gideon to breathe.

Whoops...sorry buddy. Where have you been, Gideon? I've been looking all over this accursed place for you!
Gideon_Gideonson

11-27-06, 04:25 PM
Well, first off, this isn't me. You should know that. Its the Aleax...remember? When Vecna was after me? The Ruby Pyramid of the Lich Lord? Still, in all fairness...I didn't know it was his phalactery at the time.

Currently I'm in hell...long story. Anyway, you up for a drink when I return? My treat. In the meantime, I'll communicate through this thing.
Larz_Fang

11-28-06, 03:58 AM
"Well, since I don't know really that much about the part, I can let you have it as a steal. Only a thousand gold pieces. Sorry about my confusion, I don't really know that much about technological stuff, since I'm more of a master of natural order."

"I have some more parts in my storage that is in the back, though that one is the only one I found in those particular ruins."

"By the way, ghost. I am not a troll. I am a half-troll. Half-forest troll to be precise. My mother was a forest troll, but my father was a human."
Gideon_Gideonson

11-28-06, 03:45 PM
Distracted, 'Gideon' turns back to the shopkeeper.

Sorry...an old friend appeared suddenly. Yes, I'll take all such pieces you possess.

The Aleax hands over a bag full of platinum.

Will that do for payment? Keep any extra. It's not a problem.
Revlis_Nogard

11-28-06, 04:44 PM
Gideon...even when you're not around, you're trying to improve your collection...

Revlis wanders around the beginnings of the store and comes to the bastard sword in the glass cube.

Hey, Dralix, mind if I take I look at this? I don't want to purchase it, but I'm intrigued about its qualities. Also, what about my original offer about me helping you set up this shop a little bit?
Gideon_Gideonson

11-28-06, 05:03 PM
But of course. I am, after all, an aritificer.

'Gideon' follows Revlis's gaze, and his eyes come to rest on the sword.

Hmmm...that is interesting. May I see it as well? But if you don't want me to touch it, you could same me some time by simply telling me what it does. It looks quite magical...

The Aleax turns to Revlis again.

And someday you must tell me why you're back in the profession. I was under the impression you were done with adventuring for good.
Larz_Fang

11-29-06, 02:23 AM
"Thank you, Gideon. You are most generous. As for you, mr. Revlis, I could use some help. Oh, I wouldn't recommend touching my father's sword. It's is the Smiter of the Damned, and anyone who touches it must have absolutely pure heart. It hurts all those who have even the slightest bit of evil in their hearts if they try to wield it. Also, the sword is almost indestructable and capable to destroy even the most powerful undead creatures. I myself smited the foul lich Sarnuxerth with it for killing my father. All of it's special qualities are not clear to me, for the sword seems to resist total indentification and gains more abilities each time it is used. However, the my favourite is that you don't have to be 'proficient' with bastard swords to wield it, since it works for you even if you don't know how to properly use such exotic weapon."

Dralix leaves his usual position behid the counter and walks over to Septimus.

"My wizard friend, can I perhaps help you somehow?"
Larz_Fang

11-29-06, 09:04 AM
"Wait, I sense a Kobold in the arena. Wait here, I'll be right back! Oh, and don't try to steal anything. It is futile and useless." He points to the sign bhind counter that says:
You don't want to try stealing anything in this shop, for each item is enchanted to move into another plane of existense if nothing is paid for it.

Dralix draws a strange wand-like device from one of his pockets, activates it and disappears.
Revlis_Nogard

11-29-06, 05:48 PM
Revlis stands on his hind legs and walks over to the glass case. His left hand twists and churns, as his hair recedes into his hand, along with his claws. He sprouts a thumb. At the end of the transformation, he has a gangly, lanky humanoid hand where his claw should be. He passes his hand on the glass case. The sword begins to throb and surge with arcane power.

Yes...I thought it was you...
Gideon_Gideonson

11-29-06, 05:58 PM
Who is it? Someone I would know?
Revlis_Nogard

11-29-06, 07:20 PM
No, Gideon...this is...one of my old creations, I think...from before our time. If it is one of them, then it's been too long.
Larz_Fang

11-30-06, 12:25 PM
Dralix appears in a cloud of smoke, just like he disappeared ten minutes ago. Since he appears right next to Revlis, he decides to talk to him before going to help Septimus.

"So, what do you know about my sword, Revlis?"
Revlis_Nogard

11-30-06, 03:20 PM
Revlis morphs his hand back to a normal panda claw. As he walks away from the glass case, his mind wanders to ages past, when the world was still young, and the forest reigned supreme.

I believe that this blade is... Vivex, the Finaldeath. That would explain why it's so powerful against the undead. Have you noticed if it is more powerful in forested regions?
Larz_Fang

12-01-06, 02:41 AM
"Well, now that you mentioned it, yes. My father took with him hundreds of the lich king Sarnuxerth's troops with it, and most of them were undead. We used to live in the great forest of Gambor back then."
SeptimusMagistos

12-01-06, 05:34 PM
"No, not yet. I'm just browsing for now."
Larz_Fang

12-02-06, 08:35 AM
"Looks like someone here has slow reflexes! I was able to 'visit' the arena once before you managed to react there, wizard." :D
Revlis_Nogard

12-02-06, 12:16 PM
Revlis ponders the new information for a moment.

Dralix, I'd like to ask you two more questions about this sword. Where did your father get this blade, and when you wielded it, do you remember the hilt having an odd bump surrounding the wrapping? Like, there was something else not supposed to be there?
Larz_Fang

12-02-06, 12:44 PM
"My father told me that he found the sword in a cave where the it had propably landed very long time ago from space. There was still the large hole done by the sword in the ceiling when I visited there myself. As for the second question, I can't remember such details as I fought against the lich king for over two hours. It took all of my power and at some point I was so close to death that I passed out. And that happened after the foul monstrosity was destroyed."
Revlis_Nogard

12-03-06, 04:16 PM
Hold on a sec...I need to check on something.

Revlis quickly exits.

Another person walks in this man has a dark cloak on and all you can see in the blackness of his hood is one glowing red eye. He looks carefully around. You detect him as evil even if you cant detect you know. His Aura of Evil goes outside his body as it is visable.
SeptimusMagistos

12-05-06, 05:57 PM
Septimus shivers, looks at the new figure reproachfully, and creates a circle around himself that glows with pure white for those with magic sight.
Larz_Fang

12-07-06, 01:43 AM
Dralix is unaffected by the dark one's fearful precence, but he looks at the newcomer suspiciously.

"Yes? What brings you to my shop?"
RichardVauldigar1

12-07-06, 09:10 AM
His one glowing eye turns with is darkness coming from his cloak in a dark muffled voice the creature says.

IC: Do....you...have...poison...at this shop?
Larz_Fang

12-08-06, 02:38 AM
"Yes, but my poisons aren't the kind of substances that dwarves survive from. None of the venoms at this shop are cheap. Their prices start from 60000 gold pieces."
RichardVauldigar1

12-08-06, 09:23 AM
OOC: The man's dark face (if he had a face you could see) moves and looks at you.
IC: (in a cold voice) Id rather just get posion from my own body than rather pay such a hefty price.
SeptimusMagistos

12-08-06, 06:34 PM
Septimus casts another spell on himself.
Larz_Fang

12-09-06, 08:50 AM
Dralix moves closer to the dark figure and stares right at him.

"Fine, I guess you are not looking for a toxin that can kill even The Tarrasque. Have it your way. If you want some of those sissy under-epic poisons, I suggest that you drag your sorry, unliving, noshow carcass out of my shop and leave this plane."
SeptimusMagistos

12-09-06, 12:58 PM

SeptimusMagistos

12-09-06, 06:08 PM
Septimus grows less solid, less real. The spells fade.
Mazenda

12-10-06, 12:32 AM
"Indeed. I agree with our mage friend over here."

A tan skinned woman with midnight colored hair steps in from another part of the store where she had previously been browsing through some rare and exotic potions. The only visible items on her is a plain grey cloak wrapped around her entire body and a simple pair of travelling boots poking out where the cloak ended. The sound of chains can be heard upon her every step, suggesting that she has a suit of chain mail on underneath.

"I've never heard of a successful business man acting so brazenly insulting to one of his patrons. 'Drag your sorry, un-living, no-show carcass out of my shop' huh? Pretty vulgar words for one so 'pure of heart' don't you think?"

The woman puts on a rueful grin.

"You are 'pure of heart' aren't you? Or do you keep that sword of yours in that glass case now because you've fallen from purity's good graces and now can no longer wield it?"

Letting out a chuckle, the woman wipes away a tear from her eye and then settles down.

"Anyway, on to business," the woman turns to face the dark figure looking for poisons. "I know of an old wizard who'd be more than happy to sell you a few vials of Colossal Scorpion Poison. Their market price is 9000 a vial, but I'm sure if you purchased two or three he'd be willing to make you a deal. The stuffs more than capable of bringing down an ancient wyrm if used properly, or are you looking for something that doesn't necessarily have to be that potent? I remember him carrying all kinds."
SeptimusMagistos

12-10-06, 12:28 PM
"Why do you need poison, anyway? It can't be all that useful."
Mazenda

12-10-06, 02:15 PM
The cloaked woman shrugs her shoulders.

"It depends on the situation. Sometimes a good poison is just what you need to even the odds or gain the upper hand in a fight."
Larz_Fang

12-11-06, 01:19 AM
"I'm sorry for my rudeness, but I don't sell poison in vials."

Dralix reaches under the counter and pulls out a big bottle full of black liguid.

"THIS is what poison is really all about. It's my own special brew and I like to call it Fouldeath venom. It is expensive, but it's killing power is way superior to any natural poison."
Mazenda

12-11-06, 04:53 AM
"Oh?"

The cloaked woman turns to look at the newly presented poison.

"Interesting, but how much does it cost? Our friend here wasn't interested in buying your weakest type of poison at 60,000 gold pieces, and I don't imagine this stuffs any cheaper. There's no profit to be gained in a venture where your supplies cost more than what you hope to gain back by using them."
Larz_Fang

12-11-06, 08:35 AM
"Actually, this is the weakest variant. I have several much deadlier substances than this. This one can kill The Tarrasque in half an hour while this..."

The half-troll pulls out another bottle full of murky liquid.

"...destroys The Leviathan in just a few minutes. Now just like I said if you are looking for the sissy stuff, find elswhere. If you want the hardcore killer venoms, you have come to the right place."
RichardVauldigar1

12-11-06, 08:46 AM
OOC: The evil dark figure turns around and stares at you all.
IC: Sometimes the most weakest of posions give the most pleasure just watching them lose their life one second at a time. And I can insure you that my posion is defently not weak.
(he then stares at the lady) she is correct I do use posion in my battles It gives me a second resort to a well thought out plan. Sure the Tarasque is a mighty foe but I will not need such poisons to kill it.

As everybody leaves, Dralix puts some wards on the doors and takes his battle gear from a chest. He then walks out of the shop and makes a gesture in front of the door to place another ward on it. A dome-shaped shield covers the hut.

Dralix and Rockfist return from their battle at the arena, and the half-forest troll quickly leaps out of his elemental companion's back (which then glides to the ground and vanishes) and runs to the backroom of his shop. Dralix is gone for about ten minutes and then the door to the shop opens. The half-troll seems to have returned to his normal form and then puts his hand to his forehead, sending a telepathic message to everyone at Sorcen's Baator.

Dralix's Potion Shop is now open again

After that, Dralix disappears behind the counter of his shop.

"Sure have, let me just look it up... hmmm.... some Faernian growth acceleration... hmmm... maybe here..."
