| jaw4ever07-10-07, 09:28 AM | I was wondering if anyone has made a concerded effort in creating a campaign based on the must-beloved Dungeons & Dragons animated series that first aired in the mid-80s? My brother has the complete series on DVD and with it came a little book that had the major characters (Hank, Eric, Presto, etc.) in d20 stats (although I was dismayed to find The Dungeonmaster unstatted). On the back page, there is a very crappy representation of "The Realms": not a map, just a generalization of places in The Realms. Has anyone made a better map somewhere of "The Realms"? Thanks in advance!! |
| Ranger REG07-11-07, 07:08 PM | Well, I can't recall if it took place in Greyhawk or some other setting. |
| spellbinder515007-11-07, 09:52 PM | Greyhawk. |
| Rhialto07-12-07, 03:38 AM | Over on the Mystara boards, someone posted a link to a website which goes into long boring detail on this horrible idea. One thing that is clear is that the cartoon series world isn't any of teh published campaign settings. ETA: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=868606 |

| magestar07-13-07, 09:47 AM | Hmmm....shows how smart I am.:D My apologies. |
| Custom_Hobby07-15-07, 03:54 AM | Did it also have stats for venger? |
| jaw4ever07-16-07, 09:09 AM | Did it also have stats for venger? Yes, and also Shadow Demon. |
| Daybreaker08-20-07, 05:02 PM | I love that show. I have the whole series on DVD. Brilliant cartoon. I think it stands up much better than any of the other 80s cartoons I've revisited. I highly recommend it. Anyway, the thing is, I'm pretty sure that the kids as depicted in the show would mostly be 0-level, or at least the younger ones. Presto, Sheila and especially Bobby are under the minimum age requirement for their classes. Eric, Diana and Hank could probably qualify as 1st-level characters, though -- at least after a few episodes! Sheila might be borderline. Unlike Bobby and Presto, who were too young to actually fulfill their roles in the "party," Sheila did prove herself to be quite the competent thief when necessary. |
| Custom_Hobby08-20-07, 07:25 PM | I finally got the adventure that they are in. I was a little surprised by their level. They were not high but I did expect them a little lower. Venger was right where I thought he would be. I would have loved to see their rendition of Tiamat for the cartoon. Did they ever do more than one adventure for them? |

| Ogrebear09-26-07, 03:03 PM | What was the Adventure they where in called? |
| Ossian09-27-07, 04:09 AM | Just my 2 bits After reading this article here http://www.thealexandrian.net/creations/misc/d%26d-calibrating.html linked to me by Prime in the Middle Earth D20 thread, I find it difficult to have them start at more than 1st level in non heroic classes, with perhaps the exception of the acrobatic girl with the magic pole (the brunette with curly hair) which could have been a rogue commoner 1st/rogue 1st and the archer, who maybe was not a commoner, but he was not more than a warrior 1st (not even a fighter). Both the barbarian and the litle wizard must have been somewhere below the "young adult" threshold, thus suffering from some ability adjustments. All more than compensated by VERY powerful artifacts and by the fact that the DM was literally sided with them... By the end of the series, the might have gotten a heroic level each, being able to 'rule on mankind' once they would go back. The article was very illuminating, and I suggest you to read it. I t does not forcibly ask you to keep your characters between level 1 and 5, banning higher levels, but it DOES give a very credible perspective on the level progression and what it should mean. Fair enough, low level characters are easier to kill, esp. by the unexperience DM, and their players need be a bit more mature and RP oriented, but it can work. Oss. |
