| zoe_augustus12-12-03, 01:01 AM | ((This is an open adventure geared largely towards evil characters, but there could definitely be a place for good ones too. Either way, just drop into the story wherever you want. I’ll be making a few NPC posts to get things started and help explain the setting a little more. That’s about it. )) :b: You find yourself standing in an open, snow covered field. A heavy snow is falling from the sky making it difficult to see very far ahead. Standing around you are several dwarves, heavily armed with sharpened pike and axes and dressed in full plate. Their armor bears no insignia, but its pieces are inlaid with small gears and fastened in places with screws, a strange method of building plate. The dwarves stand huddled in loosely packed groups and stare forward looking into the distance at something. Following their gaze, you can just make out a large ring of glowing light, flanked on either side by two tall pillars of ice. Sitting to the side of the pillars is a row of trebuchets and in back of them is a massive iron battering ram, fastened to a set of large wheels. Teams of elves, hitched to the siege equipment with body harnesses, haul the large devices to and fro. To the side of all of this a pair of siege towers carved from ice sits at the ready. The towers heave themselves forward on large humanoid arms, also carved from ice, in the way of an ape. Chants and incantations can be heard and you can barely make out a group of dwarves near the portal structure gesturing wildly with their arms. The light of the portal dies down every so often, indicating that they are struggling to keep it open. :b: |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-12-03, 01:22 AM | A white haired dwarven man dressed in purple robes appears in the back of the gathered group and starts making his way towards the front near the portal area. As he walks, he braces himself with a large wooden double axe. Though he says nothing, the crowd of people parts somewhat to let him through. As he draws closer to the portal, he heads off to the side to watch the movement of the siege devices. Some of the dwarves' glances remain fixed on him until he turns to the crowd and gives a silent nod, at which point everyone goes back to what they were doing. |
| Mikildra, or Dog12-12-03, 02:00 AM | An aged female dwarf fades into existence by Garam's side. She is dressed in a yellow robe that contrasts starkly with her gray streaked red hair as well as the snowy surroundings. She carries a tall staff in one hand that bears a carved gnoll's head at its top. A long tabacco pipe is in her mouth, though by the red-eyed, distant looking expression on her face you think it might contain a little more than tobacco. She smirks and peers over at Garam. "Well there's my man...we going to go on another 'expidition'? What's the plan for this one, gonna throw some troops at the enemy until they hit something? Well hell sounds good to me, I'm already dead and the like...but your men, Garam...oh well..." She tightens her face trying not to laugh and then quickly spits out some words, lowering her voice to a tone of mock seriousness. "'Necessary losses...'" Unable to control herself any longer, she bursts into a fit of laughing and coughing. "Sorry, its...its just the way you said that..it was like Ness-A-Sar.." She breaks into laughing once again. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-12-03, 02:07 AM | Garam shakes his head and frowns, sweeping away a lock of his wife's hair and pointing to a sizable scar underneath it. "She'll have company soon enough if you don't quiet yourself, woman." He turns back to inspecting the siege equipment and says nothing else. |
| Fheyazil12-12-03, 03:15 AM | (description: Fheyazil is of a small race called Glaciens. Glaciens are creatures of magicly living ice origonaly created by a powerful mage, they grew and created more of themselves, evolving into what they now are. Each glacien is unique much like humans to a degree but all are pure evil with a hatred for all life. They are rather fragile creatures and so fightertype classes are few and far between. They have no organs or inards and wear no cloths. Their form is also unique but stay mostly to a bearded male mage in robes. They have no gender or genitalia. Glaciens are harder to melt than normal ice and can walk about in daylight and average temperature but they try to avoid direct sunlight. Glaciens cant naturaly heal wounds or chips. They can freeze liquids on contact and use water to fix wounds. Glaciens Can merge with existing ice and form it (add it to their mass and such). Glaciens have no ability to smell, taste, or feel, but can see and hear. They are imune to illness of all kinds and the magic that gives them life can not be dispeled. Finaly, they have darkvison and the ability to craft an amulet from normal ice that, at will, drops the temperature of a 15' radius by 30 degrees Fheyazil stands about 5f tall and his face is thin. he has bushy brows and a large beard. his robes look like that of an asian archmages. he wears a large hooded cloak (remember that all cloths are made of ice and are part of his form)) Fheyazil leads the mages in attempting to keep the portal open |
| zoe_augustus12-12-03, 05:41 PM | The portal flickers for a moment and suddenly a burst of flame roars through it, startling some of the mages holding it open. After the flames clear, several cries go up and two groups of elves dressed in light mail pour through the portal. Upon seeing this, several of the mages stumble backwards and begin fumbling for their spell component pouches. A few volleys of magic missles are sent screaming at the invaders and many of the dwarves in the front area near the portal move forward and begin engaging them with their axes. The first blood spilled is that of an elven scout, impaled by a dwarven pike thrown at her chest. She crumples to the ground with a crash, snapping the shaft of the weapon in half. The elves seem confused and unprepared for the attack and the two groups are quickly separated and engaged separately from one another. One group is hewn down by a mob of dwarves, while the other holds for a few minutes, injuring several of the dwarven soldiers, but is finally overrun. A wiry elven mage near the back of the line becomes stuck in a mess of dwarves as he comrades are cut down around him. He looses a bolt of energy from his hand, knocking down one of the dwarves, but the others overwhelm him and beat him into a bloody, though still living, pulp. Two of them begin to drag him over towards the king. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-12-03, 05:45 PM | Garam looks down at the man and grips at the hilt of his sheathed sword. "If you tell me how many more there are, i'll send you back to your diety quick and painless like." |
| zoe_augustus12-12-03, 05:47 PM | The elf looks up and starts to say something, but only coughs up blood instead. As he does, four fingers on his right hand curl backwards leaving a lone one exposed, pointed at Garam. A smile creeps across his face and he starts to laugh slightly. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-12-03, 05:53 PM | Garam smirks and stoops down looking the man in the face. He begins to chuckle a bit and nods. "Pretty funny, huh?" As soon as he finishes his words, he bends over to the side to the man's hand and bites his finger off. He stands, spitting it out, and wipes his mouth. Unsheating his sword, he stabs forward with it into the elf's chest. "Well that helped neither of us, now did it?" |
| zoe_augustus12-12-03, 05:58 PM | The elf lets out a scream of pain as his finger is severed which turns into a choking sound as the sword punches through his chest. The guards drop him and kick his body off of the king's sword. |
| Mikildra, or Dog12-12-03, 06:04 PM | Mikildra watches as the man is killed and starts chuckling. She closes her eyes and takes a long puff on her pipe. "Oh dear oh dear...I hope you don't flare that temper when you're with those mistresses that you don't know i know you have. That could get messy." |
| Agudo Archmage12-12-03, 07:30 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley Of in the distance, were the snow mounds rise and fall, a wizard stands in blue and white robes. He cannot be seen by the dwarfs, partly do to his robes blending with the ice and snow. Yet those who know of wizards, would suspect that magic was involved, in preventing the evil dwarfs from seeing him. In his hand is an enchanted staff with a blue orb on top, he holds it in his right hand. His left hand holds a corncob pipe, which gives off a smell of apple cinnamon. Both hands have brightly colored, and some would say gaudy rings. A beautiful snow owl sits on his left shoulder, she whispers into his ear. “Agudo we have finally found the Elvin slaves, but as we just saw; we are horribly to late, to save the others who came through the portal.” Agudo shed a tear, as he nodded his head. “Alas Lady Hoot you are right, I had know idea, someone would pop out of the portal. It looks like the dwarves Clerics are having a hard time holding the energy flow together. Maybe they locked in on another teleportation without knowing it.” Lady Hoot thought about it before agreeing. “Yes that would explain the fire we saw just before the battle. Yet it may have been another reason as well. Could this be an Elvin magical portal that the Dwarfs have found.?” The wizard took a couple of puffs from his pipe, before speaking. “True, but either way the Dwarfs must be stopped. Yet as you have wisely pointed out, the slave Elves locked to the siege equipment are to close to the slave-masters. Any fight to free them, could do more harm than good.” Agudo sighs before continuing. “We may have to follow them, and free the slave at the best opportunity.” ((OOC High great story, Agudo is Lawful good, but as I said in the post he is using natural surrounding to be invisible. Also a little magic as well. But that doesn’t mean he can’t be found. For example the puffs of smoke from his pipe, or a few magical creatures that can detect wizards may be around. But it’s up the DM if the story flows better if Agudo is found or not found….. Also as said in the post Agudo is searching for the Elvin slaves so he can free them…..Why and how I will post latter…I if you want more info on Agudo, you can go to the MOP boards and look up an OOC story titled (((Character Posting Board Open to All)) |
| zoe_augustus12-12-03, 09:37 PM | (( Whats up Agudo? Hope you have some fun. )) The dwarves settle back down once the battle is finished, the corpses of the elves being sent to the clerics in back of the army to be raised as undead. A group of warriors now keeps watch near the portal to cover the mages, who go back to trying to hold it open. A cry goes up near the front of the lines and the sound of wheels crunching through the snow can be heard as the trebuchets begin to roll towards the portal. A group of dwarven soldiers comes forward to accompany them, and slowly they disappear into the light. The giant siege towers follow close behind and soon disappear as well. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-12-03, 09:45 PM | Garam watches as the catapults move into position and then turns towards the main army, motioning to the unit commanders to have their troops start to move. He wipes the blade of his sword on his robes and resheaths it, then steps over to stand next to the portal. |
| Mikildra, or Dog12-12-03, 09:54 PM | Mikildra stands staring off into space and puffing on her pipe. She blinks as she sees her husband move and heads over to stand next to him. "You know, i've always wanted to be a teacher and have a classroom full of students...and maybe an apple on my desk too.." She continues to stare off into the distance. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-12-03, 09:59 PM | An angry sneer appears on Garam's face and he turns to Mikildra. He speaks in an annoyed tone. "And what does that have to do with anything?" He shakes his head. o.0 (I'll have to remember to have that drow that peddles those "rare plants" that she buys tracked down and killed.) |
| Mikildra, or Dog12-12-03, 10:25 PM | Mikildra blinks and then nods quickly. "Oh, right...the battle and whatnot. So are you still going to keep with you original diecide plan? I've never heard of anyone taking a god...and their entire planar following...out. Isn't that kind of, well, ridiculous?" She reaches into her robes and withdraws a large jar containing two small scarab beetles and a small beetle larvae. The jar also has small beetle sized chairs, tables, and beds in it. "Redicul... Ooooo, look Garam, my beetle neighborhood is growing! Remember those magic micro-surgery instruments that I had the gnomes build using money from the city treasury? Well, I used them to go in and repair a malfuntion in the male beetle's reproductive system, which had made him impotent up until now. As you can see, they've reproduced! Isn't that great?" |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-12-03, 10:38 PM | Garam raises his hand to strike Mikildra, but suddenly spins around as one of his men calls to him, announcing that the siege equipment has cleared the portals and is waiting on the other side. He nods. "Good, tell the garrison commanders that they can begin taking troops through. And tell them to set watches around the landing area, i'm sure those elven scouting units are still out there." |
| Obsidianjaerc12-12-03, 11:31 PM | An elf with long white hair appears on a mound of snow and taking a quick gander at the situation throws his cloak about him and letting ints magic protect him from sight. Jaerc thinks What the hell? This is NOT Myth Drannor. I am supposed to be off suicding by way off monster. And now another intteruption. Dear gods. Well I best see what happens and then try to find where here is and how to go about leaving it. Jaerc focuses all his sense bending them to the situation. He suddenly whiffs the air and strides over to the source of the smoke. A pipe? And strong magic? Must be a wizard.. Quietly ,everso quietly whispers. "Whos there? I am Jaerc Master Bard and you are a wizard I am sure. Can you tell me what is happening here or if not perhaps we can figure out together?". He waits for the wizard , perhaps a future allie to speak. ((Very intiguing. Jaerc cannot be described exactly alignment wise but for the sake of ease we will treat it as Lawfull Good)) |
| Agudo Archmage12-13-03, 12:05 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley A magic book was floating before Agudo, and on it was an enchanted white feather, writing every word he spoke. Lady Hoot seemed to be annoyed at the sight of the familiar feather, but said nothing. The Mage was mumbling out loud. “Now book lets make sure we get an accurate count, of all who came through the portal. I will see if I can get the names of as many as I can. Of course the Elvis bring dead will make that difficult. But I love a challenge as it would be.” Just then magical energies could be felt, by those with the understanding of such phenomenon’s. Lady Hoot turned her head almost all the way around, like most owls can do. “Did your hear or more accurately feel that?” Agudo took out his corncob pipe and raised a brow. “Yes and were not alo…..” But before Agudo could finish a voice spoke saying his name was Jaerc a Master Bard. “ What do mean who there Jaerc? I could say the same about you!…..Thats the problem with invisibility spells and magic users. We can feel each others power, but look ridicules talking to are selves.” Agudo chuckles and looks around. “Ill tell you what I will share my Arcane spell with you, so that you can turn yours off Jaerc. ((OOC Assuming you do Agudo says this)) Well good sir well met, may the Light shine on you. For your right I am a wizard, and my name and title is more accurately Agudo the Archmage of Light.” He then points to his shoulder and smiles. “And this beautiful snow owl is Lady Hoot a High Cleric of the Light.” Lady Hoot also smiles like only an enchanted owl can do. “Wisdom and peace be with you as you travel the realms. Did you say you needed help?” |
| Obsidianjaerc12-13-03, 04:08 PM | Jaerc lets his cloak fall back ending the his own invisibilty and letting Agudos take over. He bows once in thanks " May the Light shine upon you and yours Archmage. And may you feathers ever shine in brilliance Lady Hoot. I dont need any help precisely. I was merely traveling via portal , heading for Myth Drannor on Abeir-Toril and poof I appeared here. I merely wish to know what is happening here. Wait you said your name was Agudo?" Jaerc furrows his eye brows. "Say I think I've heard of you. A friend of Bhryns right? Why what a coincidence , if there was such a thing. Wow just when you tink nothings left to suprise ye. Say why are you here anyway? |
| Agudo Archmage12-13-03, 10:23 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley Now that the two adventures could see Jaerc, they could relax. The Archmage of Light cleared his throat, as he took a glance at the Dwarfs then turning his attention to Jaerc. “I am afraid your sudden appearance, may have something to do with Dwarven Slave-Mastesr and the portal they have open.” Lady Hoot flapped her wings before speaking. “Yes like you, a sudden appearance of Elvis took place not to long ago. A fierce fight took place and the Elvis were slaughtered.” Agudo nodded his head as he took a few more puffs, of his corncob pipe. “The chained Elvis you see now, taking the siege engine through the portal. Were not a part of the last group. The families of some of those poor slaves, sent my owl friend and me; to see if we could track them down and free them.” Lady Hoot added a few things. “It has taken us several months to do so, and now that we have found them, it may be to late. For the Dwarfs are going to war with someone as yet un known to us.” Agudo frowned as he watched them go before speaking. “I thought about trying to free them now….. but do to how close the guards are…. Well even with my ego in check with my glorified title as an Archmage. That does not mean I should rush in and risk the Elves lives, just because I can cast powerful spells.” Those close by could tell the anguish on Agudo face. For all his power, he felt helpless to save the slaves. He tried to change the subject. “Bhryn did you say? Why yes I have had the pleasure Bhryn company many a time, while in the celestial realm. In fact the last I heard from her was on a notice board at the Emporium. We were trading letters on places to vacation in the Realms”. |
| zoe_augustus12-14-03, 12:28 AM | The groups of dwarves file through the portal and disappear until all have gone. Several of the mages keeping it open also leave, causing it to shrink in on itself, leaving only a small opening. One mage remains behind to keep it open for the king and his wife. He nods to them in signal. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-14-03, 12:33 AM | Garam walks towards the portal and ducks down to step into it. He calls back to his wife. "Lets go, and be quick about it, the portal is fading.." He steps through and disappears. |
| Mikildra, or Dog12-14-03, 12:43 AM | Mikildra nods and steps over to the portal, but pauses for a moment and looks up at the stars. She takes a puff of her pipe and smiles. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6....." |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-14-03, 12:45 AM | Garam's hand reaches through the portal, latches onto Mikildra's shoulder with a jerk and pulls her through. |
| Mikildra, or Dog12-14-03, 12:47 AM | Mikildra grunts as she's grabbed and falls backwards and into the portal. |
| zoe_augustus12-14-03, 02:04 AM | (( Oh yeah, forgot to say it before, but welcome Jaerc, hope you like the thread )) |
| Fheyazil12-14-03, 02:28 AM | Fheyazil, the mage keeping the portal open, chuckles a whispy chuckle at the actions of mikildra then steps therough the portal as well. |
| Obsidianjaerc12-15-03, 06:05 PM | Jaerc carefully listens to Agudo and Lady Hoot but allows his eyes to keep close survielence on the dwarves. He watches them step through the portal and a smile touces his face briefly. Great they are gone. Maybe now I can find a way to get out of here. But first I think I'll lend the Archmage a hand with the captive elves. At least its something to keep my mind off........ The elf nods "It is true that strong magic often affects portals. Hmmmm I fell for those Elves since I am here anyway I would be glad to aid you in freeing them and perhaps brining vengance to their captors. And a war mystery even more inturiging. I will be happy assist if you will allow it." "Perhaps we should hurry thugh if that portal is soon to close. Do you have amgic that aids in disguise or shall we try to go in invisibly?" |
| zoe_augustus12-15-03, 08:42 PM | :b: Those stepping through the portal find themselves in a dense pine forest. The temperature is much warmer in this place and rays of sunlight break through the tall canopy. The forest floor is covered with browned pine needles, and a path extends further into the woods. The dwarves have set up a perimeter around the siege equipment and are preparing to move shortly. :b: |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-15-03, 08:51 PM | Garam releases Mikildra, throwing her slightly to the side as he does, and then moves towards the front of the crowd and over to a group of five dwarves who are discussing something. As he approaches, they nod and one of them, a young dwarven woman, steps forward and begins talking to him. He gestures at the path ahead and then begins pointing to various places to the side of it, pulling on his beard as he does. |
| Mikildra, or Dog12-15-03, 08:57 PM | Mikildra stumbles as Garam releases his grasp on her and then dusts herself off. She pins around to look towards Garam, sticks her tongue out, and then sticks her pipe back into her mouth. After looking around the area, she sits down on a nearby stump and begins staring off into space once again. |
| Agudo Archmage12-15-03, 10:41 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley ‘He turns to the Elvin Wizard and winks. “Normally I like careful planning…. but since its about to close on us, I say we make a mad dash for the portal; and pray that we stay invisible as we come through the other side.” Do to the lack of time, he doesn’t wait for a reply, the Light mage makes a quick dash for the portal. His blue and white cape flapping as he goes, running as fast as he can, even as he puffs on his corncob pipe. Lady Hoot hangs on to his shoulder, as her feathers fluter at is mad speed. With a jump Agudo is through to the other side, skidding to a stop. Some of the pine needles russell. But Agudo stops perfectly still hoping he is Invisibility spell holds. ((OOC I will leave it up to the Dm if it works)) |
| zoe_augustus12-15-03, 11:47 PM | (( You manage to make it through as the portal is closing and into the forest. The dwarves have generally moved away from the portal and aren't alerted of your presence. )) |
| Dalineous Faustin12-16-03, 08:11 PM | Eight portals spring open parrellel to, and a few hundred yards in front of Doggbeater's portals, facing his armies. Music that sounds like something between "The Imperial March" and Tupac Shakur's "How Do You Want It" begins eminating from the portal. Its followed by the sound of marching feet. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-16-03, 10:51 PM | Garam looks up from his group at the eight portals that just opened up. He tugs gently on his beard and squints, trying to get a better look. o.0 ( What the hell? ) |
| Dalineous Faustin12-17-03, 12:53 AM | A number of scantily clad dancing women of a variety of races, ranging from gnome to cat people to lizardfolk are the first to exit the portals, arranged to make the letter "F" if viewed from space. They're followed by a legion of weary batter looing mostly gnomish soldiers who march out of the portal, creating the letter "A". Next out is a large number of airborn dire roaches shaped into a "U". Following them is a large group of various lower undead that shamble behind creating a "S". These are proceeded by a group of drow armed with what looks to be a variety of different pieces of lavish palac furitune. A larger one drag a chadelier behind him on a chain. They form a "T". The next group is a large mixed lot with next to nothing in common but the "Inner Circle" crowns on their heads and the annoyed look on thier faces. They trod along in "I' formation. After this there is a brief pause, which is follow by the portals joined themselves together to form one large portal which shifts to hover a few hundred feet above the ground. A large metal disk with flashing lights emerges from the portal, and hovers in a spot just after the others. A ray of light shoots from the disk, hiding the area completely from sight for a momment. When it disappears a small man who looks like a human teenager whereing flamboyant robes and a silver crown bearing the word "Emperor" stands at the center of a "N" burned into the ground. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-17-03, 01:02 AM | Garam blinks, stunned. He starts walking towards the center of all of the comotion, his lieutenants following behind him with expressions of awe and disbelief on their faces. As he approaches, his eyes fall on the large flying disc and his jaw drops. He scratches his head and continues walking, glancing from side to side trying to make out the figure leading the masses. "I...i've never seen anything like this before. Who in the hell could've done something this...outrageous?" |
| Dalineous Faustin12-17-03, 01:08 AM | Dalineous turns to face Dogbeater, smiling broadly. "That'd be the great holy terrible benevelant mericless lofty relatable diefic Emperor Dalineous Faustin... Me." |
| Mikildra, or Dog12-17-03, 01:08 AM | Mikildra gets up from the stump she's sitting on and gapes at the scene unfolding. Her pipe falls out of her mouth and as she stoops down to pick it up, she looks inside of it and then back up at what the portals have brought. "Damn...t-this stuff must be laced..." She begins to stumble forward, pushing through the stunned groups of soldiers and towards the front where Garam is. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-17-03, 01:15 AM | Garam moves forward, staring at the boy and resting a hand on his sword hilt. He nods to the dwarves with him and they withdraw their swords from their hilts a few inches and follow behind him. Stopping a good distance from Dalineous, he tugs on his beard and looks up at him. "How....and why...did you come here? Not to make war against us with those, uh, things, i hope." |
| Dalineous Faustin12-17-03, 01:20 AM | Dalineous laughs. "War against you? Well... Maybe if you where in your own territory and I had already taken over all the above ground garbage pits already... Then I might... No, I'm hear for something much much larger than you...I'm hear to get that godhood which I already havem but need only reach out and take... As I've set things in action already from my future diefic state to garuntee my assencion... And its going to happen here... I know, because... Well, I'm a god... Get it?" |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-17-03, 01:23 AM | Garam laughs and lets his hand away from his sword. "A god? You look like a little boy to me... How old are you son?" Some of the dwarves start to chuckle. |
| Dalineous Faustin12-17-03, 01:27 AM | Dalineous straightens himself up and stares Dogbeater in the face. "I'm eighteen... But age is meaningless to the ascended... Its only a method of counting when a serf is ready to begin tilling crops and whemnn ge is too worn out to work the fields and thus should be thrown out... That's all... And that does not apply to me." |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-17-03, 01:36 AM | Garam smirks and nods. "Well, ok... What plans do you have then? You intend to follow us on our mission to dethrone and deflower the Elfmaker...and his lackeys? Hell, if that...flying machine you have up there is half as powerful as I think it is, the battle should be over in a blink." |
| Dalineous Faustin12-17-03, 01:42 AM | Dalineous laughs again. "Follow you? The forces of the great Emperor Dalineous Faustin march ahead... I'm not about to have you take the kill of that iffeminate sigarleaf diety and ascend in my stead... Just because I in my diefic wisdom found an easy way in doesn't mean you can ride me around for nothing like a peasent woman in need of a meal... No, you follow me if you come at all." |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-17-03, 02:05 AM | Garam sighs and shrugs. He turns to his officers and begins whispering to them and nodding. "Well the way won't be easy, although i'm sure you, in your deific wisdom already know that. I could care less what you do when we get to Mar Aldon, as long as the plane is burned to cinders and that fairy of a diety is put down. Those elves have been a thorn in my ass for a long time. Recently they've found the portal to Melkrin and they've been harassing us constantly. Lawbane was under siege for weeks and was only just now relieved by my men. McHawke himself has asked me to see that those elves get the beating they're in need of..." |
| Agudo Archmage12-17-03, 01:33 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley The Archmage of Light was standing still trying not to blow his magical cover. He listened as best he could of the two spectacles, which claimed to be kings. Try to flex their egos with each other. But the false god claim by the boy caught his attention. His magic history book was still with him, taking notes of the goings on. |
| Mikildra, or Dog12-17-03, 03:57 PM | Mikildra pushes through the crowd and finally gets to Garam's side, her pipe now reseated in her mouth. "Is this kid with you, Garam? Or better yet, is any of this even real? Cause if not, i'm gonna have to order several pounds of whatever this pipeweed is laced with.." She stares up at the floating ship and gawks, scratching her head. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-17-03, 04:04 PM | Garam sighs and looks at Mikildra. "Yes, this is real.... I barely believe it either." He turns and gestures at Dalineous. "Apparently this kid here is what brought all of these things. He's the emperor, uh, what did you say your name was again?" |
| Obsidianjaerc12-19-03, 03:50 PM | ((Previously)) Jaerc the elven bard runs right after Agudo , on his heels practically and follows the leap. ((Now)) "Hmmmm odd. Maybe they'll kill each other and we can collect the prisoners?" He says the hopefully but believes that some complication is bound to come up. Jaerc then peers at the floating , self-recording book. I wonder if he makes those? I wonder if I could buy one... |
| Dalineous Faustin12-19-03, 04:25 PM | Dalineous sighs. "Dalineous Faustin... The great diefic emperor Dalineous Faustin... I'm really not sure how you can forget a name with as much beauty and impact as that... I mean, my parents might as well as just named me 'god Faustin'... Anyway, the hell with your little under the mountain greweting dance... We're marching on." Dalineous claps, and his gnomish troops spin around and begin marching into the forest, the undead follow them, while the dire roaches take to the air again and provide cover over them, the dancing girls draw daggers from their garter belts and follow the troops, the inner circle trudges along behind them gurmbling, and Dalineous takes up the rear. The drow hear Dalineous clap, laugh, sit down, and start playing cards and arguing with each other. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-19-03, 04:34 PM | Garam sighs and calls ahead to Dalineous, holding up a parchament in his hand. "Aren't you forgetting something, deific emperor? The map..." |
| Dalineous Faustin12-19-03, 04:45 PM | Dalineus spins around and stares at Garam blankly for a momment. Then he laughs. "Map... Maybe you need maps to dig your little drainage ditch sewer holes of homes... But I know exactly where I'm going... You forget... I'm destined to succeed." Dalineous turns around and leans in to an elvish man in robes just in front of him and whispers. "Grab a copy of that map for your emperor, will you Nore?" |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-19-03, 04:57 PM | Garam laughs and watches as Dalineous's army starts moving out and shrugs. He then whispers something to his lieutenants and they head towards the back and start mobilizing his army. Once the dwarves are grouped up, a few calls go up and the siege equipment starts to move, following behind the gnomish army at first, but then veering off slightly to the left of them and onto another path. The dwarves follow up behind them, some of them pointing at Dalineous and his minions and laughing. |
| Nore12-19-03, 05:22 PM | A brown haired elven man dressed in blue robes stands next to Dalineous, nodding. "I'm on it.." Nore fades out of view and moves towards the dwarves. A map in one of the dwarven commander's pockets lifts out and into the air, then disappears from sight. Nore reappears walking next to Dalineous again and passes it to him. |
| Dalineous Faustin12-19-03, 05:32 PM | Dalineous nods and takes the map. "There we go... Now we;re off to kill us the lord of leaves that taste like sugar and men that look like women and can shoot three arrows at once while riding a piece of scrap metal down a hill... We're garunteed victory..." Dalineous begins to give his troops directions, leading them towards the god's place of residence by the map. |
| Nore12-19-03, 05:36 PM | Nore laughs and nods. "Yeah, those damn el...oh wait.." |
| Dalineous Faustin12-19-03, 05:43 PM | Dalineous shakes his head. "Don't worry Nore... After the thing with you and your sister... I think of you more as a human from the southern lands who got his ears deformed in a farming accident than as an elf..." |
| Legolas Jackson12-19-03, 05:46 PM | Somewhere in the forest, just behind the dwarves, a well built elven man dressed in a green cloak and forest colored clothing sniffs the air and glances around the area. Homing in on the dwarves with his keen elven eyesight, he watches them from a distance, readying his bow. |
| King Garam Dogbeater IV12-23-03, 11:28 PM | Garam walks at the rear of his army as it winds its way through the wooded path. He scans the trees every so often for movement, and his hand rests gripped around his sword. Further up in the collumn, a trebuchet has gotten stuck in a rut and the elves pulling it struggle to get it out. Two dwarves, each wielding a cat of nine tails, lash out at them in anger. Slowly the machine begins to move and it almost clears the hole when suddenly it rocks backward, crushing the foot of an unfortunate elven woman attached to its side. She lets out a cry and stumbles to the ground. The two dwarven overseers laugh upon seeing this and step forward, picking her up by the arms and setting her back on her feet. She manages to stand for a while, but crumples back down to the ground after a few seconds. The smile drops from one of the dwarves' faces and he draws a dagger and quickly slits her throat. The body of the woman is unharnessed and thrown to off to the side. |
