| aravilar_holistacia03-08-04, 11:28 PM | I remember the prophecy, the Dark Omen that was the end of the City of Song. What nobody paid attention to was the next- who would have thought that the Citys end was but a fleeting moment in history? -Lord Ariseus Darenthyr The End of the Singing Year of the Plough ----------------- There was never a doubt in any elf's mind that the city of Leuthilspar of Evermeet was the single most beautiful creation ever in the history of the People. Spires of crystal and glass, tinted with all the hues of the rainbow; the tallest oaks and pines ever seen in the Realms; even the slowly waving sea looked more pure than anywhere else. And even through all this, there was an obvious dullness and tension in the city. Nowhere could you go without hearing a snatch of conversation about the "creatures" or the "living dead". For good reason; the shining jewel of Evermeet, the living city of the elves and the domain of the Seldarine, was under siege, not by the defeatable enemy of the living, but the unconquerable machine of the dead. Even in the Palace of Queen Amlaruil Moonflower, Queen of the Elves, there was a note of grimness noticable. A line of elven bladesingers stood inside the palace's throne room... with a very irate-looking elf in blue and black robes yelling orders at them without remorse. "The cannons are to be pointed towards the sea, Sergeant Thalyon!" the platinum-haired archmage barked. "Yes, commander," the right-most bladesinger mumbled. "And I want the spell-mirrors charged fully!" the mage yelled. "Yes, commander," the sergeant muttered again. The archmage turned around to face the squad and said, "The Queen has ordered the Akh'Velahr to man the walls of the coastal fortress!" The sergeant did not say anything this time. "Are you listening to me? I had told you--" the mage said, but a woman with sweeping blond hair down to her waist, clad in a periwinkle-blue gown called out, "Lord Grand High Mage, you are needed here." The elven archmage looked up from his harangue and said to the woman, "Yes, my Queen." He shot a scathing look at the sergeant before walking to the woman. The two disappeared through a door behind the throne. OOC: Welcome, one and all, to the latest tie-in to the One Land RP. Let me take this time to explain the story and the threadkeeping stuff. First off: The story so far is that Aravilar Holistacia, the Grand High Mage of Evermeet, has been summoned to the island-fortress of Evermeet, the last remaining stronghold of Elves in the world of Faerūn. Queen Amlaruil, the ruler of all the Elves in this world, has summoned all able-bodied elven archmages and champions to her aid in an attempt to head off an impending attack on the city. Three months ago, there was a large explosion in the Crystal City's town square... and the culprit was found two days later inside the basement of an elven merchant's home. A portal into the Underdark revealed a world of undead drow, amassing an army to invade the surface elven homelands. The archmage Aravilar came to Evermeet, asking his friends to come with him in an attempt to keep the elven lands from being destroyed. If Evermeet were to fall, it would mean the end of the Elven race. Currently, there is an air of tension and unease in the city. Although there has been no public statement by the government, rumors abound in the taverns about a sinister force of undead wraiths surrounding the city... waiting for the right time to strike. Secondly: The DM of this thread is going to be me, with the co-DMs being Silmarien Aldalome and Finwe. I will get to posting more OOC stuff later, but for now, I would love for you to be able to expand on this... jump into the story wherever you see fit! | Castor Troy03-09-04, 01:28 AM | Hearing the call from Mystra that Evermeet was in need of protection from a massive attack, Castor gathers the necessary items from his keep before teleporting to the shores of The Island of Evermeet. Though he has been here many times before, Castor is always amazed by the sheer beauty of this place. The end of his white robes were tickled by the lolloing sea. The way the sands seem to invite one to lounge as if there was nothing else to care about, but there was much to care about this time. Troy makes his way with all haste throught the city general and city proper before stopping at the gates of the Castle. "You there, kind Sir." he says to a guard. "Please, with all haste inform Her Majesty the Queen and High Mage Aravilar that Castor Troy, Cleric of Mystra, has come at her request to aid in the defending of Evermeet. I would meet with them at either's earliest convience." OOC - No hard feelings there Ava. The successful defense of Evermeet is something that would be important to Castor. There really is a secret between he and Anglar that I will get around to telling you in PM. I ask that you indulge me a little longer, please. I humbly ask Cause I'm Castor Troy. |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-09-04, 01:29 AM | OoC: The pendant all the guests received at the wedding - operates across time, space and across dimensions..... IC: Aravilar's pendant glows blue - the characteristic colour of Pereldar Star Fire. A message arrives - from far away at Peredhil Halls - that are carved from ancient black stone in a mountain range set nigh the Ancient Forest. ....what does Evermeet's Political landscape look like - how was your landing |
| aravilar_holistacia03-09-04, 02:09 AM | Originally posted by Silmarien Aldalome ....what does Evermeet's Political landscape look like - how was your landing Aravilar received the message from Silmarien through the pendant. "My lady, Evermeet is in shambles. I need you to come right away; the herald of the Mythal Skybridge would be a valuable ally here to the Queen Amlaruil. The landing here, you ask? Disastrous." ---- It was only a few minutes until a third-level wizard came to collect Castor Troy. "This way, sir. Grand Court Mage Aravilar Holistacia awaits." The two walked through an air garden and then through a room that had waterfalls forming its walls... The wizard-guide kept up a running commentary. "Evermeet has a similar system of government to Myth Drannor... Aravilar is the Grand Court Mage, the highest wizard in the Queen's court... he's also the Spell-major of the Akh'Faer, the Army of Art... the spellsoldiers are standing by in the harbor, right now, as a matter of fact..." The duo came to an oaken door that read, in elven, "Aravilar Holistacia, Grand Court Mage." "Enter," came a voice from within. |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-09-04, 04:19 AM | OoC: Time streams in the OneLand series can be temporally "locked" or temporally "unlocked". Meaning - one can be on several threads at once. Thus, Ara and Ang - you can (if you choose) post on the other OneLand threads at same time. I want to see the Drow thread ressusitated Ang-dude. We have an "ueber" DM for when DM's get tangled up and at crossed purposes across threads. This role is used sparingly and used only for emergency. Usually, each thread's one DM is ample. Currenlty, I am in the over-role - but it can be shared - "committee" if you like. In fact, I'm happy to share it. We may need a specific thread for discussing items at such times as is necessary. Ava - what I'd personally like to see - is some real rolls at crucial turns that affect game-play. But, we can't do a fully on-line dice thing - it takes forever for a round. But, we've had real duals at times, and so on - makes it more exciting. Remember - share in each other's thread's activity. I.e. - post to your friend's threads as well. I wanna see intrigue, surprises and so on. So - each DM can keep "DM's secrets" from another DM. If people collude - remember to keep it good-spirited. We don't want hurt feelings. IC: Back at Peredhil Halls: Sil's pendant flares with the blue life of Pereldar Verse. Her eyes widen when she hears Aravilar's words and she gasps with intaken breath. "But Aravilar - I am Peredhil - on Evermeet this may raise some ire with some on the Elven Council. But I will endure this risk". With some urgency - she makes some arrangements with the Pereldar "contact me at any time if anything transipres...I want half-daily updates as a routine event anyway....make sure the gardens are tended - I will bring Huaan with me...." Evermeet: As the golden rays of sunshine bathe the Elven Citadel in radiance - there is a shimmering - and in a flash of blue, Silmarien appears. Nearby, the waves crash on the shore, and inland, the virdant green of Nature shares its health and vitality to all who would look and plant life. She bears the rune-staff - the metal-shod and heavily runed Half-Elven artifact. She smells the airs, and over the smell of sea salt, she catches the hint of something fell.... She holds the staff forth - and releases a single bolt of Starfire - announcing her Half-Elven heritage with her particular Arcane signature.... |
| aravilar_holistacia03-09-04, 07:46 AM | OOC: All must  to the uber-DM... Sil... ;):D But I *do* get to DM this particular one... at least... sort of. Right? :D IC: It was a built-in factor in the isle of Evermeet that only elves could allow outsiders into the lands of the People. And so, as Silmarien made her dimensional journey, Aravilar was alerted to her presence. Almost immediately, there was a bell ringing in Aravilar's office. "Lordship, lord high mage, there is an intruder, there is--" "Silence, Jirean; lady Starfire approaches. Make haste, open the gates for her entrance," Aravilar said, shooing away the apprentice wizard. When the apprentice returned, he returned with an impressive array of court mages and armathors of the Realm. OOC: "armathor" elven for "protector of the throne" "I cannot believe you have allowed this halfblood onto my island!" roared the first of the court mages who entered the office. "Narym, calm yourself. It was my decision, as will be the next outsider to approach the island," Aravilar said coolly. "I would watch my tongue, mage." That negative endearment, "mage", was enough to make any gold elven arrogance flare, especially in the heart of Narym Alastrarra, Court Mage and High Councilor to Queen Amlaruil. "Lord Grand High Mage," the gold elven man said to Aravilar, giving a short bow, "there is no need for this rudeness. But the Queen--" "--has approved the Lady's coming to the island. I have cleared it with her before hand. As I have with the darkblood--" Aravilar began. "--I cannot believe you are bringing that filth--" Narym shouted; "--who will be saving the throne from the other darkbloods--" Aravilar continued; "--who could shatter the very essence of our fortress-home--" "--and who could save the Queen herself from death--" Aravilar retorted, but just then, the blond-haired gold elven woman entered the room. Aravilar stood, then knelt down, as did the rest of the mages in the room. "Up, up, up!" the woman said. "Stop this arguing at once!" she cried, when Narym had arisen. "My lady, I--" Narym began. "My Queen, there was naught but--" Aravilar started. "Silence, both of you. I care not for your excuses," Queen Amlaruil Moonflower, Queen of Evermeet and the Chosen One of the Seldarine gods on this world, said. "Yes, my lady," Aravilar and Narym said in unison. Aravilar shot a look at the office's front door, which swung wide open. Castor Troy was standing in the door. "Good morning to you, lord Troy," Aravilar said, the non sequitur cutting through the silence like a flashing dagger. |
| Castor Troy03-09-04, 06:58 PM | Castor walks into the room confidently. "Your Majesty Moonflower, Lord Grand High Mage Narym, Aravilar" he nods as he addresses the three. "Mother Mystra has bid me to come aid in the defense of Evermeet. It my honor to follow Her wishes and serve you as I may. My sword, my bow, and my spells are at your service Your Highness." Turning to face Aravilar directly, "Though we have our differences, they are petty when faced against the here and now. I offer you a truce in our personal squabble until such a time as it is more 'enjoyable' for the both of us. To start with, I'll shed this visage." With a small flash the plan white robes that surrounded Castor disappear and are replaced by shining white silk embroidered with silver and gold trim. The symbol of Mystra at the edge of each sleeve and wide across the back. Where the rugged face of a traveled man was, now there is an ivory mask that covers from forehead through nose. Seven silver stars arch over the eye holes. A mane of light brown hair about three inches long sits atop his head. A magnificent longsword sheathed in a matching white scabbard with runes and symbols of Mystra is tied to his his left hip. A quiver of 4 arrows, also white, is at his right hip. "Let the ichor of your enemies flow freely this day and the next. This is my vow Cause I'm Castor Troy." |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-09-04, 07:36 PM | When Sil hears the bells chime - she understands what is afoot. There are no guarantees here she muses to herself. She incants, and Horse Phantom appears - and stomps its foot - ethereal whisps flowing from its tail and mane. Atop the horse - bearing the Runestaff, she approaches the Elven City - and sees the magnificent Elven spires as she approaches. Magically laced buttresses, ephemeral lights, and reflecting the sunlight brightly. The whole city is ablaze as a sea breeze blows in off the ocean. She approaches the gold Elf - who is openly scornful in his gaze....... |
| anglar03-09-04, 07:58 PM | Anglar arrives just outside of the city proper, bearing his armaments for the occassion. A number of Elves look at him in combinations of shock, disgust and horror. "Yes, that's right. The Drow-Blood is here. Spit at my feet if you will. Go on. Get it over with. When I've helped Ava save this city I won't even expect any thanks from you. It should also bring you great joy that I've recently wed a Half-Elf, Silmarien Aldalome, who should be here shortly if she isn't already. We also plan on having children if that thought doesn't make you purge your stomachs." Anglar chuckles as he is having joy mocking the disdain that so many here feel for him and his Beloved. 'We will bleed for them, and in the end, they'll still look down upon us' he thinks to himself. 'The Poetic Irony of Tyr'. "Which way is it to Aravilar? Someone tell me quickly. I've many enemies of yours to slay." |
| aravilar_holistacia03-10-04, 02:42 AM | "My Queen, there is no cause for--" Aravilar continued. "You are the Grand High Mage of Evermeet, Aravilar. You do not listen to Court Mages such as Narym," the Queen said placidly. Narym blanched. "My Lady, I believe that--" "I care not for what you believe, Court Mage. I do care for the safety of my city and the Elven race," the Queen said, silencing the room. Aravilar said quietly, "My Lady, as I am sure your Highness is aware, the Mythal has received Silmarien and Anglar Goldstems into its protection area." The golden-haired woman nodded, the tiara of diamond around her head shifting slightly. "Yes, the drow and the half-breed." Aravilar frowned and said through gritted teeth, "My friends will be treated with dignity and respect, will they not?" The Queen looked as if she had just been slapped. "Silence, Grand Court Mage Aravilar, I will not suffer you to speak to me this way." Aravilar coldly stared at the Queen. Narym seized the opportunity to interject. "My Queen," Narym said, shooting a look of pure disgust towards Aravilar, "I will personally see to the comforts of the newcomers." Aravilar jumped up from his desk. "No, Narym, you will stay in the city. I will greet them." The mage turned to the Queen. "My Lady," Aravilar said quickly, "I ask your leave to collect my friends." The Queen, with a slightly patronizing look, said, "As you wish. Return to me when you've controlled your mages." Her eyes shot to Narym before she turned about and left the room. Aravilar sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "Narym," he said, "you will never speak to me in that way ever again. I will personally have you stripped of rank and sent through the Mythallar. You and I both know what that entails." The Mythallar was a gift to Evermeet from the Old Empire of Netheril, a crystalline ball of energy that powered the city's spell effects. In Netheril, mages were sent through the energy field and were completely drained of all magical ability when they became senile or too power-hungry. Narym's eyes betrayed his nervousness. The Court Mage Narym spat on the ground and left the room through the oaken door, brushing past Troy. Aravilar sighed and said, "Troy, welcome to Evermeet. Make yourself at home; there are guest quarters above... This is my tower, at least for the time being. I must, however, retrieve Sil and Anglar before the arrogant Golds decide to string them up and hang them." Aravilar was neither Gold Elf nor Moon Elf, but a combination of each. The Grand Court Mage walked towards the door, and said, "If you wish, you might go to the Temple of Mystra; the temple is in the City Square. Good day, Troy." Aravilar walked out the door and into the open air of the city of Leuthilspar... and into a riot. "Kill the darkblood! Kill the half-breed!" they were crying, and running towards the city gates. "Oh, for the love of Hanali..." Aravilar said seriously. "All of you, freeze." The entire crowd of people stopped dead in their tracks, the holding spell keeping them firmly locked in place. "If I must continue to magically bind you to keep my friends safe, I will leave it to the Akh'Velahr to throw you all in prison," Aravilar yelled. When he finally reached the gates, he said to Anglar, "Good morning, my lord. Welcome to Leuthilspar. Though you come in time of war, let the light shine upon you..." Aravilar knew Anglar would understand the hint of tension in his voice, but at that time, Silmarien approached on her incorporeal mount. "But soft, the Lady approaches," Aravilar said. "Welcome to Evermeet, Lady Silmarien; though you come in a time of war, let there be peace with you." The mage said to the couple, "Do not be troubled by this crowd." He waved a hand behind him at the still-frozen stampede. "They are nothing compared to the Elder Mages." Aravilar made a slight gesture with his hand to show his disgust for the Elder Golds. "Those Gold elves are so arrogant, they shun any and all non-Golds." Aravilar then said, "Even I am not immune to their politics and their criticism... I am the first Grand Court Mage to be of a mixed Elven blood... Perhaps you and I are not entirely different in our plight," Aravilar said to Sil and Anglar. "Come, let us away to the High Hall... Queen Amlaruil will want to greet you," Aravilar said. He walked past the frozen Gold elves, with a hint of a smile on his face. |
| Castor Troy03-10-04, 03:11 AM | Not even acknowledging the the "bump" by Narym, Castor begins, "I'm glad that things could be this way. I believe I'll make my way to the Temple of Mystra. I'll be there should you want me. I would like to speak with you sometime soon about our respective parents. I'm sure I'd find your history interesting, as you would mine. If it helps in your decision of where to place me, undead not of considerable strength have a tendency to crumble when I get within 15 feet of them. Only those of extreme power, like Zsass Tam can even stand to be within that distance of me. Though I find that some are like that anyway. Maybe it's Cause I'm Castor Troy." OOC - that's one clue as to the level and power of Troy. Care to take a guess. |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-10-04, 04:04 AM | Sil studies the frozen courtiers - the Gold Elves' faces wracked with frozen disgust and revulsion - while their attire flaps in the breeze. Sil feels a mix of anger and compassion for them. Even though she knows prejudice to be a form of violence, she also has insight about its origins. The compassion is for the latter. "Aravilar - I'm not sure whether to thank you - they'll be furious when they are released, and no doubt want to flay Anglar and I both alive." She dismounts the Phantom steed - and incants. The steed vanishes - the mane last to vanish into whispy nothingness. She approaches one of the held guards - and first stares him in the eye, before saying "...may your healing exact no price on the innocent." she says with sharp intonations "...for I am not worth all your hate." she finishes. She hugs Anglar as she leans into him and whispers to him "beloved - by your side I have no fear - but ward - this place has fell undertones and I know not why I feel this". "Aravilar - this Queen - do you have some advice for how not to incur her ire? No doubt, she will deem me ugly - as do many of the Elves of the Ost-In-Edhil, nigh Mythal Skybridge in the Southern Hemisphere." |
| aravilar_holistacia03-10-04, 02:23 PM | "Among the tales and accounts of men, the Court of Cormanthor is portrayed as a glittering, gigantic hall of enchanted wonders, in which richly robed elves drifted quietly to and fro in the ultimate hauteur and decorum. [continues]" Antarn the Sage from The High History of Faerūnian Archmages Mighty published circa the Year of the Staff from Elminster in Myth Drannor by Ed Greenwood (c) 2001 WotC, Inc. ---------------- "Oh, yes my lady, they most certainly shall be quite angry with me for this bout of spellcasting..." Aravilar said roughly. The mage continued to walk through the frozen crowd. "These Golds have never been past the shores of Evermeet; they know nothing of Faerūn in general. They were raised to believe they are the greatest lifeforms on the planet. "I, however, share in your problems here... I am not of Evermeet, I was born in Myth Drannor. Even in the City of Song we were told as children that Evermeet was a wondrous place of magic and light. Now," Aravilar said, sweeping a hand over the crowd of Golds, "you see exactly what it is. Arrogance is the number one trait among the citizens of Leuthilspar." The mage finally moved out of the crowd and he snapped his fingers. The crowd was released from the holding spell, but when they attempted to run towards the trio, they ran into a wall of force. "These elves are sustained by what drives them apart... I remember, during the Weeping Wars in Myth Drannor, when Iymbryl and Josidiah were fighting over the command of the Spell-army; Iymbryl a Gold elf, and Josidiah a Moon. "Iymbryl was always sending assassins to kill Josidiah, and one day, as I was hurrying to the city gates to help defend them against the Dark Armies, I watched as Iymbryl was cut down by the soldiers under Josidiah. It was foolish! Both elves were terrific commanders and together they could have immolated the Army of Darkness! "They fought for the fun of fighting, until one was killed. And then, the city gates were thrown open, and the demons killed everyone in the city, except myself and a few of my friends," Aravilar said, turning a corner in the winding path that rose up a hill towards the palace. "It's all they live for, here on Evermeet. If there is not at least one climatic fight in words at the High Hall each day, the city is in disarray for a tenday. The only thing keeping them from killing each other off is that they fear the undead too much to fight each other. "Even I have had to engage them in their word games. One of my assistants, Narym, is always contesting my decisions... He even defied me in front of the Queen, this morning," Aravilar said, with an obvious note of disgust in his voice. Finally, the mage rounded another corner, and there was a gate with a staircase behind, leading the rest of the way up the hill to the Palace. Three soldiers and one battle-mage stood outside the gate. "Grand Court Mage, Lord Aravilar," the mage said, standing up from his seat, "the Queen is expecting you. But I was not informed of your guests..." the junior-mage said, eyeing Silmarien with a look of absolute hatred. His eyes wandered to Anglar, and his bronze skin visibly blanched and his energetic personality wilted. "You have brought the enemy of our gods into the heart of our empire, Aravilar..." the mage-guard said, and he began to back away. "Jastial, silence. What I do is my own business. The Queen is quite aware of my friends' arrival in the Crystal City," Aravilar pointed out, with a hint of threat in his voice. "Open the gate." The mage did not move, but stood defiantly in the path of the trio. "Lord Aravilar, I must protest--" the mage said. "Open the door, Jastial!" Aravilar commanded, and the other mage bowed and said, "As you wish, lord Grand Court Mage." The three soldiers merely stared as Aravilar led Sil and Anglar deeper into the Queen's compound. "Do you see what I mean, Lady and Lord?" Aravilar said over his shoulder to Anglar and Silmarien. "Not even the highest mage in the Elven nation can keep these Golds from speaking their arrogance and keep their holier-than-thou attitudes in check." Ahead rose the five towers of the Queen's Palace, the High Hall of the Seldarine. "Prepare thyselves, Lady and Lord; in the Palace you will find that there are much more arrogant and prided Elves than Jastial," Aravilar warned, leading the two others closer to the Palace. |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-10-04, 03:53 PM | As Aravilar tells the tale of the history of the city, Sil is caught somewhere between wonder and disgust herself. The glances from the Gold Elves are nothing new to her, but always, some small part of her grieves when she has encountered Elves on Toril. "Iymbryl and Josidiah may have been intelligent wizards, Aravilar - but their wisdom failed them." she studies Anglar's face for sign of pain as Aravilar tells this tail. "....self-mastery was wanting in the both of them. No doubt each held the other responsible for all the woes on Toril, and no doubt each believed their own views to be sacrosanct"....at this juncture, Sil suddenly becomes reflective and bows her head "....and lest I fall into the same trap also - mirroring arrogance with arrogance, instead of provoking something else in these people..." She sighs - ....I am not looking forwards to meeting the Queen - no doubt she will be scornful, and her words an indictment on my character....I must have courage - this is not the first time I have faced this. The Elves of the Northern Flame were just so also - and Telias, their Lord - was the most reticent to accept. Still - he was found to be corrupt in the end - and there were those who showed us the courage of open heart....this Mythallar that Aravilar spoke of - it troubles me deeply. What sort of a people toss the old into a machine to be consumed! I am disgusted.... |
| anglar03-10-04, 06:59 PM | After hearing the concerns of his Beloved and his Friend, Anglar can only chortle. "I actually am looking forward to meeting Her Majesty the Queen. It's not everyday that one of my heritage gets to set foot on Evermeet and not be met by blade and spell, but the day is young. I hold no contempt for how they feel. I pity their ignorance. When I slew those High Elf Puritans in Zarthos I took no real pleasure in it. Most of them were simply angry children who were twisted into thinking that those who were not of one pure breed of Elf was a threat to their way of life. When I do finally catch up with Jiallai, will enjoy showing him the error of those teachings. No, raising children frightens me far more than war. With war, everyone knows the risks. With children, only we, the parents, can be held accountable." |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart03-10-04, 09:21 PM | Frosty can almost sense the thoughts of his three friends. To hell with there ways. Frosty opens up a portal to evermeet using the power of the pendant to first contact ava and tell him of his approach. Before his response he opens up a gate into evermeet. Open reaching the destination he is looked apon with scorn as if he was a drow. For sure he is a half-elf of moon or prehaps wood elven heritage but they all know the legends. They know he is also "tained" with vamprism and gaourism. At first they gasp then they snicker. Before they can rise and speak out Frostbite says: "I am here like my half-elven sister and darkelven friend. I have useless premision of the queen and lord ava." Frostbite then switches to the half-man-half-wolf-war-form-known-as-cronos then says "AND IF I SEE ANY MISTRETMENT TO ANY OF THEM OR ME I SWEAR IN THE NAME OF EVERYGOD THAT I WILL NOT HOLD BACK DESTROY YOU. I am here to help you. And know my good friends...I have an EXTREME hatrid of racist gold elves...and I havent eaten for a long time... Frostbite, content that his message was recived perfectly and that it would travel quickly he wanders over to the castle of the queen...almost forgeting to shift back to his normal form. He walks as if all the doors were wide open and not a guard questioned him. For surly all the gold elves, despite there hatrid, had known of his many battles in the north and his rebuilding of many old elven citys in the high forest. However since he did not rebuild any of the gold-elven citys and the major population is the cowardly-gold elves this helps him little. Frosty sets out to find his three friends as soon as possable. OOC: I used a few fear effects from various powers. Combining my garou and vampire powers pluse my bard powers I have no doubt that any would try to fight me. Also in any non-gold-elf he imparts a tinny feeling of warmth and that feeling you get when you dont think somone is as bad as you think if that makes sense to you. Also silm/ava if I were to bring in a few allies what limit would you make? They would be of full-wood-elven kind for now...however I am surly going to summon a ravenheart...that would be insulting to my war-like family if I did not invite they all to my battle. How many would show up is only a few since many wouldent like this world and 90% are either garou or vampires :P. -Frosty |
| aravilar_holistacia03-10-04, 09:39 PM | Of course, just entering the palace was a trip unto itself. "I tell you, these are with me," Aravilar said, waving a hand behind him to indicate Sil and Anglar. The stubborn guard simply stood in Aravilar's way. "Move aside now, soldier," Aravilar said politely. The man said defiantly, "I will not suffer a half-breed and a darkblood to enter the High Hall." Finally, Aravilar had had enough. "Stand aside." The man finally gave way under the silent threat Aravilar had made. Being the Grand Court Mage did have some privileges... Aravilar ushered the two into the High Hall, past the columns of crystal that flanked the large oaken doors. At the end of the hall, a great golden and jewel-encrusted throne sat, with a very distraught-looking, but also stunningly beautiful, Gold elven woman sitting in the seat. "Welcome to Evermeet, Lord and Lady Goldstems..." the Queen Amlaruil said, with a hint of disdain in her voice. Aravilar bowed and said, "I present the Lord and Lady to you, my Queen." "Arise, arise, Aravilar, and await the Court Council in the antechamber," the Queen commanded. "By your order," Aravilar said, sweeping past Anglar and Sil. As he passed them, he whispered, "Good luck." He squeezed Sil's hand and gruffly clasped Anglar's shoulder before walking out the front door. |
| Zollex03-10-04, 09:54 PM | Zollex looked through the dusty old tome. He was in a tower -- Aravilar's tower. The half-elf had came with his friend to the island, and was now taking some time to look through the books in Aravilar's library. After closing the book and replacing it on the shelf, Zollex took a look through the window. "I'd better catch up with Aravilar," he mumbled to himself. "It's getting late. Where did he say he would be? Oh, yes. The High Hall." The half-elf cast a spell and vanished from the tower. He reappeared in front of the Hall. "There you are!" Zollex called to Aravilar. "How is it going? Will the Council hear them?" |
| Finwe03-10-04, 10:00 PM | Across the planes whispers great secrets..... Who is in a time of need.... Who is in a time of glory.... A whisper, lower than a mice's beating heart, but more audible than a roaring dragon drifts towards a great concentration of energy; "centannusmanes, tempus nobis hic venire est...." The energy beings to form, take shape. A portal opens on the Material, right in the court of evermeet, bypassing all wards and countermeasures. A tall... elf was it? It could not be told, for the person had pure white skin, but hair of the blackest night. Golden wings fluttered gently behind him. "Greeting Aravilar. You called? |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart03-10-04, 10:10 PM | As Frosty makes his way up to the queens room mumbling this and that about being late and what not he continues his powers with emotions (being a high-archbard DOES have some benefits :)) to move the guards aside. "Zollex? Finwe? I was not expecting to see you two here. Oh! Forgive me (Said with sarcasm) I almost forgot" *Bows to the queen* "I am Lord Frostbite Ravenheart, General of the Ravenheart Armies, Last of the blessed of Luna, and Lord Protector of the High Froest. I bow to you (sarcasm so great its almost unoticable even to the most dullwited gold elf) great queen of this most beatifull (not said with sarcasm) land. -Frosty OOC: Btw frosty is still a little hairy...he never made a full transformation back into half-elf...hes in the near-human mode (glabro) so hes got some paws...ears... |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-11-04, 06:44 AM | OoC: Frosty - to answer your question: I won't get involved unless there's conflict between DM and anyone. My involvement as over-DM is to be very limited. And - again - people are invited to contribute. When the time is right - we'll need an OoC over-DM thread for managing decisions that affect us long term. The only thing I'll add *turning to Aravilar* is that what doesn't seem to work very well is when everyone starts bringing in tons of creatures that "consume all the vampires" or "destroy all the legions of the Dark Lord"...the threads seem to be more enjoyable when things are handled with more realism and RP. Direct person-to-person contact with Avatars talking to each other seems to engage patrons. Some one-on-one combat too - IMO - should involve real risk (dice rolls). There can be betrayal and intrigue as well. Zollex's Beads of Betrayal were a real hit in the inter-foundation war. Also - progressing the story *slowly* at times and sometimes *quickly* seems to help. OoC - greetings Zollex - I can't interact with you IC yet - I haven't met you at Evermeet. Finwe - greetings+ditto. Feel free to join us in the revelry at the Wedding Reception. Have you seen the Angrod Avatar? IC Silmarien holds Anglar's hand as she passes into the ante-chamber and through the Crystal Pillars of the Elven Queen's throne room. She sees the thinly veiled contempt of the Elven Queen. ...step on my foot if I get roped in to her tyrades... Sil studies the adornments in the room, marvelling at the elegance of the Elven art. Heroic figures from Elvish history seem to leap out at you - hands outstretched, fingers pointing at some ancient doom, with Elvish faces forming silent imperatives in your mind. She bows "Humbled by Elven Grace. From ancient legends in our Tomes at Peredhil Halls are recorded whispers of Evermeet. Be ever Welcome at Mythal Skybridge - whence I am Mythal Custodian in Aarendor, where the Elvish Provinces of the Southern Hemisphere recall the Splendour of Ancient Days." |
| aravilar_holistacia03-11-04, 02:24 PM | Aravilar was sitting on the long steps outside the palace when Zollex appeared. "Hello, Zoll. I trust you have made yourself at home?" Aravilar stood up. "They are in the Queen's hall right now.... I certainly hope the Lord and Lady are prepared for the arrogance and the stirfe of the Golds." For then, the Lord Finwe came near. "Finwe!" Aravilar exclaimed. "I thought the Council would have kept you back at the Tower; you are free to help us out?" Aravilar asked. Aravilar said, "We only need wait a few more minutes out here in the courtyard; the Queen will be summoning me back to decide how to proceed against the coming undead...." ----------- Queen Amlaruil was not the most arrogant Gold, for she had some experience with outsiders. Still, she was of the Sun elves, and being such she did not have a very large place in her heart for the likes of Silmarien and Anglar. "Good afternoon to you, Lord and Lady Goldstems. I do believe it is prudent for me to tell you that not every elf in Evermeet will greet you thus; nay, they will flay you alive by spell, by sword, or by the swift words of the tongue. "Aravilar had told me much about you; you are recently wed? Congratulations are in order. But there are unfortunate happenings of the Elven nation that must be brought to order nigh the Summerstide and the great graces of the Cinnalos'Cor. "Simply put, Evermeet is under siege. Not by the armies of the living, but by the legions of the dead. I have heard reports from our scout units and they report that the enemy we seek is cloaked in the nocturnal shield of darkness... the enemy is swathed in the shadowsilk of blackness. We cannot attack them, because they do not exist in this world. "They attack through the Plane of Shadow. I know not how they make their assaults through the void of the night between our world and theirs, but there must be some other force guiding them. The dead do not rise unless they are called," the Queen said, shifting in her seat slightly. The Queen got up from her seat and walked to one of the ceiling-to-floor windows that lined the walls of the court. "My entire nation is in danger, and we cannot do anything to stop them." She turned around slowly and walked directly in front of Sil and Anglar. "Aravilar trusts you. I will trust you." She turned around again and walked back to the throne, sitting down. |
| Castor Troy03-11-04, 05:37 PM | Castor kneels down before the altar of Mystra, spreading his robes out so that his knees touch the floor. The seven silver candleholders light in pure blue flames up as he passes his hand over them. He removes the mask from his face and places it on the floor in front of him. Bowing down he says, "Mother Mystra, strange is it that I am now here to help defend the homes of those who would not otherwise allow me to set foot upon their shores. It is not for my understanding of your will, but for my chosen lot in life to do your will. I pray to you for the wisdom to know when and how to act to best help those of Evermeet. Watch over my friends and comrades in arms as we defend this, the last refuge of the Elves. Faerun would be greatly diminished if Evermeet were to fall. I'm in Your service, Lady of Mysteries, Cause I'm Your Castor Troy." |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart03-11-04, 06:10 PM | OOC: The queen of evermeet is a moon elf...thats what evermeet is "famous" for among the human race...that an entire nation of the elven-ruler-sub-race (which is what humans think gold elves are) are ruled by a family of common elves...Are we playing past or future... IC - Frosty looks over to ava. Then to anglar. Then to sil. Then up to the queen "If I may my queen...I will try to recruit as many wood elves as possible to join in this battle. They might not be as great of riders as your knights are as magical as your wizards but they are very stealthy and indeed know how to fight with bow and sword. I have left the High Forest to the protection of a man in "High Rank" known as the black bandit...a human loved by the outlaws yet feared by all others including a few of the high forests creatures...never the less I know no creature would dare enter the woods while he is incharge...all those entering without invite will be sentanced to death...I cannot summon other wordly creatures though. Although I am breaking a code of common sense in helping this land and indeed I have broken all rules of common sense by protecting the highforest and reclaiming many citys. However bringing more creatures into this world will...well...greatly disturb a balance and the eye of Ao will fall apon me. However I for now can asist you in scouting and battle...however I do not wish to be put under some cowardly elfs command who has never seen the likes of battle. I will indeed only take orders for you yourself. Likewise if I may be alloud now to go out and scout? Our enemies are likly to be aware of elven stealth and elven magic...but will doubtfully be aware you posses one who has roamed with the silent striders...who uses a different source of magic. [mental-sending-ava]: Ava I need help from you later. I need to know if my gaian magic and vampric magic flows together with your weave magic. My magics of bardism easyily flow together but prehaps that might just be beacuse I am the bard. I do not know what would happen if the major presense of the two magics will work together...never mind kill all around me. Likewise "Gnoisis" that which feeds my garou magic is not readly here on this world nor would I be liked if I started sucking blood from the elves to help my vampric magics...so I must also remind you that I must travel back and forth...One last thing...if you plan to block the moon for any purpose including counjuring a simple storm you must inform me...I am putting an old spell to the test which I doubt can hold long if the moon suddenly disapears [Done] -Frosty |

There is a fell undertone on the breeze when I arrived, where all seems green and healthy on the lands." Sil reflects inwardly - summoning all her Lore of the Shadow Weave and the Demi Plane of Shadow....she recalls the disaster at Pnatemul and the current situation of siege at the Dark Citadel "Elven Queen - the Demi Plane of Shadow intersects with the Prime Material Plane, does it not - in meta-dimensional space? Therefore - I would suggest that we are our own worst enemies. For the assault may come from within, if what you say is true. Is it not so that those who worship Shar, are affected in the psyche's unconscious - where Shadow is cast by the Light over our minds?" she studies the Elven Queen very closely and with vigilant eye. "What do you ask of us?" |
| anglar03-11-04, 09:04 PM | After a polite bow, Anglar allows his Beloved to do most of the speaking for them. The sh*teater grin on his face for being in the presence of the Queen of All Elves betrays his arogance. Thinking to himself 'if they only knew how alike we are'. |
| aravilar_holistacia03-11-04, 09:06 PM | The Queen said from across the room, "I ask nothing... yet." She raised a finger and a servant opened the doors to the outside, the door outside of which Aravilar was standing. "Aravilar." The Queen called to the mage, and Aravilar walked back into the chamber. "My Queen?" Aravilar said, with a short bow. "Return tomorrow with your guests... The Council will be deciding the fate of the armies then..." the Queen said. "Sleep well, Aravilar and friends; you will need it for tomorrow." Aravilar bowed again and turned to Sil and Anglar. "You two may stay in my home... Let us away, ere the Golds decide to make our day more eventful..." Aravilar said. He then led Sil and Anglar out the heavy oaken doors to Zollex, Finwe, and Frosty. "I do believe I will have a full house tonight..." Aravilar said. "You are all invited to my place to stay the night... But enjoy the sights of the city if you wish. It is still only 3 bells after noon. "Castor Troy is in the Temple of Mystra if you'd like to see him." Aravilar then said, "Good day, to you all... I will be in the Temple of Hanali shoudl you need me..." Aravilar said, a hint of color rising to his cheeks. "While you and Sil may be together," Aravilar said to Anglar, "my Hanali and I and not so fortunate..." Aravilar teleported off with a smile on his face. |
| Zollex03-11-04, 10:34 PM | "I'm going to see what I can find out on the streets," Zollex said. "You can hear very interesting things if you just listen." The half-elf turned away from his friends and cast four spells. When he turned around, his friends saw the face of a gold elf. "I've done extensive research into illusion spells. None but the most powerful of mages will be able to set me appart from the crowd." He winked and ran off into the city. |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-12-04, 04:06 AM | Silmarien says - Anglar - shall we walk through the city for a while, ere sunset. She scans the environs, and admires the white Elvish spires and graceful arches. Here there is a garden - filled with viriditas - the vibrance of Living Green. "Look at that she says, as they walk on a smoothly paved brick walkway, winding through the Old City - where Elven mages cluster in groups - heavily robed and adorned in the regalry of their order. When Anglar says "...if only they knew how alike we are....", Silmarien stops him with a tug of his hand, and holds his gaze with warm loving eyes. "....my love - you are correct insofar as all humanoids may tend towards arrogance according to time, place and person. This does not excuse the Gold Elven prejudice however. But, it is your humility and compassion - that defines you as greater in wisdom than the Golds. And this is why I am compelled towards you....for I know that any Gold who can see your beauty - you would accept as friend. Is it not deeply generous of Aravilar to have us in his own home. He has found a Grace since our marriage - and this is moving." They stop at a market - filled with traders, and stalls with furs, foods, and all manner of equipment. Sil buys some foods: chicken, boiled egg, lettuce, feshly baked bread and spring water. With the rest of the afternoon, they sit in a green park - watching the gulls fly in the airs, and listening to the sounds of nature as a gentle breeze blows. Lying on their backs - they look into the heavens - following the westerning sun as the sky deepens to pink and then mauve, dappled with coloured clouds. When the Evening Star appears - they hear Elven Song carry on the airs from the City.... | Tenzhi03-12-04, 05:02 AM | A stately elvish figure clad in a simple long cloak whose rustling movements as he walks reveals the occasional glimpse of gleaming silver beneath it strides cautiously down the main street. He walks using a long spear as a stave, looking around him as if unsure of his surroundings. |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-12-04, 06:42 AM | OoC: G'day Tenzh-mann - can't interact with you IC yet - but great to see you mister. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart03-12-04, 04:42 PM | ooc: (Smiles evily) Tenzhi if your gonna eat elves make sure there gold elves :)... -Frosty |
| Zollex03-12-04, 11:38 PM | Zollex walked through the crowd without drawing any more attention than the other elves. He caught hints of conversations as he walked. A figure clad in a cloak caught his eye. He was leaning on a spear and was looking around too much to be normal. Zollex took a turn to follow the cloaked elf. Something about this elf wasn't right. Is there anything happening that you can see from the air? he asked his familiar through their empathic link. No, the pseudodragon responded in his short, to-the-point manner. Watch closely, Zollex reminded his familiar. I always am. Zollex shook his head and continued stalking his target. |
| anglar03-12-04, 11:55 PM | Not being near at the ease he should have been, Anglar continues his walk with his Bride around the beautiful city. He hadn't been in an Elf city since he left Palatia last, save for in the Underdark. "I wasn't always this understanding. I used to think almost exactly like them. If you weren't an Elf, you were simply inferior. I didn't hold it against the other races. You can't control who your parents are. It didn't matter to me if you were of mixed Elven blood, so long as it was all Elven. Then Halbruck changed all that for me. He was Angelina's father and on a night a week before Angelina and I were to originally wed he had a party at his home for his an my families. When Maxa arrived, he went ballistic. He had been drinking quite heavily and he had lost many friends to the Drow in wars. It had simply not registered to him that I was a 1/4 Drow and my mother half. We didn't look it. You couldn't even detect it in my mother. Maxa cast a very powerful wish spell, but it cost him my grandmother. She died giving birth. Maxa doesn't believe she died. He thinks everything that was good and pure in her went into my mother to purge her of the 'taint' of the Drow blood. It wasn't until I was judged for my own blood that I started to look at others for who they were in actions and deeds instead of by bloodline." |
| Tenzhi03-13-04, 12:41 AM | The tall elf continues walking along, occasionally cocking his head to one side as if listening carefully. Eventually he wanders into the marketplace and stops to browse at a fruit stand, carefully perusing the fruit for a few moments before selecting a few pieces. He tosses a coin to the seller in payment who in turn looks at him as if he has made a bad joke and demands a more fitting payment. "But surely that is enough steel to cover the cost of a few fruits?" the strange elf (who has an equally odd accent) replies. "Steel? That's not a valid form of currency anywhere on Toril that I've heard of," the exasperated seller says. "Look friend, if you don't have any copper, silver, or gold then I can't sell you anything." The strange elf chuckles. "Forgive me, this place is strange to me and I did not wish to bother you with piddling small change." He parcels out several gold pieces for the vendor, who - being honest - will only accept a few. After completing his transaction the strange elf continues on his way, examining various wares with interest whilst eating his fruit. |
| aravilar_holistacia03-13-04, 01:12 AM | "My love, my life, my sweet, watch over Anglar, and Sil, and Zollex... and Frosty as well... Keep them safe from the dark, so that we may revel in the Light when our duties are through." Aravilar was in the Temple of Hanali Celanil, kneeling in front of the altar, his head bowed in reverence. "My princess, my angel, watch over my friends." Aravilar then looked around, taking in the sight of the gilded chapel that he was in. The altar was pure gold, and there were high windows radiating light throughout the church. "Hanali, I beg of you, save them from the Dark." There was no reply, although the candle that Aravilar had lit and placed on the altar flickered slightly. "Thank you, my love," Aravilar said softly. The Grand Court Mage exited the chapel with a solemn air, walking into the Town Square. He looked around slowly before saying slowly, "Sil; Ang; Zoll; Frosty: I am returning to my home; when you have had your fill of the city, pray return to the Tower so that we may have our dinner and rest for tomorrow's meetings..." Aravilar blew the air out of his lungs between his lips, activating the sending magic. "I just hope there will be no attack before I can speak with my friends..." Aravilar said to himself, walking slowly towards his home. "There are only a few people I consider friends in this world; I have gathered four of them here. Oh, and then there is Troy," the mage added. "Troy: When Mystra has released you, pray come to my home. I will be serving dinner to Silmarien and Anglar, along with Frostbite and Zollex. You are welcome to come along." The sending was activated again. When Aravilar had finally reached his home, he opened the oak door and walked inside. He sat down on the soft couch and sighed. "It has been too long of a day." |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-13-04, 01:45 AM | The crickets sound out in the early evening, as the stars emerge in the heavens. They walk towards Aravilar's door as Anglar is speaking. Sil listens to Anglar, with her head cupped in her hand. She understands exactly what he means - and merely clasps his hand as he talks. When he finishes, she turns her gaze skywards - the sky is filled with stars uncounted that shine with the brightness before unseen by Half-Elven eyes. "ahh, there beloved" she points "..is fair Telecontar, and there Silastarrinen and there - fair Gileledhwen. Ever those three - when in conjunction - signal major events in our world." They are greeted by Aravilar at the doorway. "Greetings Ava - we come to suppe with you - as you invited. Have the others arrived yet? I have brought something for dinner." She takes out several parcels that were purchased at the markets. She is smiling excitedly as she shows you "...I have brough Miruvor, for us and also fresh sea-fish. Look at these herbs - they are so fragrant." she crushes a small leaf and aroma fills the air. "Who shall be cooking for us tonight - do you have assistance - or would you like the guests to prepare the food. Come - shall we convene?" |
| aravilar_holistacia03-13-04, 01:52 AM | Aravilar smiled as Sil crushed the fragrant herb. "I shall be cooking this evening, my lady Goldstems..." Aravilar said, taking the parcels from the Lady. He walked into a room at the far end of the small sitting room and placed the parcels on the counter. "But first, my Lady, we should sit and talk," Aravilar said when he returned from the kitchen. The mage sat down on the couch again and gestured to another loveseat across from him. "Please, sit, Lord and Lady." |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-13-04, 02:09 AM | "Thank you Ava - we shall look forwards." Sil takes a seat at the couch with Anglar beside "Prithee - let us talk" she smiles "how did your day fare with the Queen? And what news Ava?" |
| aravilar_holistacia03-13-04, 02:36 AM | "I have had a most terrible day, my Lady," Aravilar said, rubbing his temples. "Too much conflict, too much strife. These Golds are trying to keep me from accomplishing the task of saving this city... Their pride blinds them." The mage lay his head back against the wall. "I am terribly vexed, Lord and Lady. I cannot even open my mouth to speak with these Golds around. They treat me like a child." Aravilar sighed. |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-13-04, 04:07 AM | Seeing Ava rub his temples - Sil's face sets into vigilance. Her eyes widen slightly as she scans Aravilar for signs of serious distress. She is concerned for the Chosen. - a disaster would befall us "impures" here if Aravilar's strength fails him. The only reason we are not been expelled - or worse - from Evermeet is for the Voice of Mystra through the Chosen. "Here - sit a moment and rest Ava." Sil locks eyes with Anglar for a moment ...we musn't stay too long on Evermeet - this taxes The Chosen - he must keep his strength. We must act swiftly while we are here. "Ava, Mythal Skybridge, the Southern Provinces and the Ellaedun are bound up with our Fate. You are not alone. What Council do you bring?" |
| aravilar_holistacia03-13-04, 04:34 AM | "There is no counsel I can give that will make this any less difficult for you, Lady Goldstems... There is no way to put into words what an insurmountable task we have ahead of us," Aravilar explained. "Queen Amlaruil is being attacked verbally by her Council because of her allowing you and the rest of the 'outsiders' onto the island..." Aravilar began. "She is between a rock and a hard place; if she does not allow you to help, she loses everything. If she allows you to help... she is hated by her own people. "As for me? The Golds already hate me for my mixed blood. Now they hate me even more, for bringing you two, and Zollex, and Frostbite... Is Tenzhi here, my Lord and Lady?" Aravilar asked. "It would be quite interesting to have the Elf-bane in the homeland of the Elves..." Aravilar shook his head unconsciously. "I fear that the Wizards' Council will not go along with my decisions in the days to come." The mage stood and walked slowly around the room, always facing Sil and Anglar as a sign of stiff respect. "I have risked everything to bring you here... Now it remains to be seen what will happen to me as the rest of the elven nation realizes just what I've done to keep you here. "I had to order the entire Army of Evermeet to stay their hand; do you know what kind of absolute torture I will receive if the Wizards' Council finds out I went over them and gave an order to the Army? I will be degaussed! The Mythallar beckons, Lord and Lady; I will be sent into antimagic incarnate, I will be stripped of all wizardly talent! "But nay, I chose to force the elves of Evermeet to suffer you among them.... I will live with my decision, Mystra willing..." The mage shook his head again. "I certainly hope that we can convince the Queen to allow you to stay; even she is wary of your arrival here. Many things have been overthrown in the past day. All the codes of Evermeet dealing with no non-pureblood Elves on the island have been abolished. "But there is nothing we can do until the morrow. 'They also serve those who only stand and wait.' Isn't that what the sage Milton said? We can only wait until the morrow for the decision of the Queen... for the decision of the Elven people." Aravilar looked down at the ground. [Mental Mode-->Sil]I brought you here because I needed your help. I had no intention of causing you the strife of the Golds... Please, do not be troubled by them; do not be angry with me. I serve as I am served; I serve the goddess Mystra, who has turned her eyes even now to this island. She shines her smile upon you, Sil, and her light radiates from you like a candle emits soft light. Only time, however, will tell, if Mystra can save us all from the impending doom of the dead.[/Mental Mode] |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-13-04, 07:49 PM | Sil nods in appreciation to Ava, acknowledging the message of support from him. She absorbs the import of the message for a moment. She suddenly feels a chill - as a fell breeze blows in from the open window. The Elven Lantern's silvery radiance flickers and dims momentarily, and shadows lengthen in the room. From the corner of her eye, she sees something start - but when she looks - there is only the room, the merry firelight, and Elven adornments on the walls and in the room. She turns to Aravilar "You know that I am loyal Ava. This means that - wherever I am - it recalls the value of kinship and fidelity to health, happiness, trust and peace." pausing momentarily, as her eyes narrow "...the more I think about this, the more I suspect a traitor on the Elven Council. No doubt, one who feeds off divisive thought, and who uses racial hatred to spit us all asunder, where instead tolerance would heal. All I know, Aravilar, is that Rh'iel supports this mission. And - that Anglar and I" she turns to him and places a hand on his face as she looks at him "...will do what we can to spare Evermeet from certain Doom". She recalls the Elf-Bane's prophesy at this time as she ponders. "As to that Mythallar Ava - we have two choices: to use it to our own cause, or to destroy it. Both Anglar and I would also agree - I think - that it is time for Evermeet to undergo transformation. This is perhaps why we half-casts and non-pure blooded Elves are here. Have you seen Zollex, Frosty or Tenzhi Aravilar?" OoC: Zollex - the "stalking" is *hilarious* "What's an Elf-Bane to do in Evermeet?" |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart03-13-04, 10:15 PM | After all the people have left the queens courts the queen summons him foward. She says not a word outloud to him all the time he is there yet whispers three dark sentances to him that none will ever here. With niether a replay or a goodbye Frosty turns and walks out of the queens room. He heads not to eat for the test of gold elven anything but surly courpt his veins. However he does ask around in search of a forested-area and he notes that area on a map. He will feast apon the raw meat of captured prey, for truly what better way for a wolf to eat and a vampire to drink on such an weird island. "Great ruin my fun" Frosty mumbels to himself. "Great I am not late!" Frosty says outloud "Where is zollex? And will anyone else be joining us? Tenzhi, finwe or troy prehaps? Would men such as great (and maby troy :P) care about such an island? Anywho I am here but we must speak quickly." Frosty says happily. "I am on 'errand of the queens' that I am surpised to get". | Silmarien Aldalome03-13-04, 10:38 PM | OoC: she's gold in Ava's text, Frosty my friend. Silmarien sees Frostbite. She watches his face very closely - as he enters the room. To her keen eye, Frosty's gait seems somehow "masked". She watches the hand gestures, his deliberate emphasis on particular words. ...he is keeping something from us. She says to him "Frostbite_Ravenheart - your wisdom is always welcomed in our Halls - where your loyalty brings us strength. Should this fail you now - then we are all lessened. Therefore - speak more freely with us and tell us your heart's concern". OoC: Frosty - did you receive a PM I sent you - it's very important. Please also see last entry Peredhil Halls - Everyone - you'll need to keep an eye out on events at all the URL's - remember to keep posting all zones. Remember everyone, Peredhil Halls is a day behind at the moment *grins* Frosty - I need your help - help me my friend. |
| aravilar_holistacia03-14-04, 02:07 PM | Aravilar said to Sil, "My lady, Zollex has been staying with me for quite some time... But I have not seen the elf-bane..." Aravilar walked into the kitchen and began to chop vegetables... [PrivateMentalMode]All my friends... and Troy... have come to Evermeet to help... but what have they gotten themselves into? Even I don't know the whole story... and it looks like everyone is so content with this... I wish I was as confident as Sil is.[/mentalmode] |
| Zollex03-14-04, 04:18 PM | Zollex watched the odd elf try to pay for some fruit in steel. He is either just trying to make a good show or he really isn't from around here, he thought. All Zollex had to do was wait for the elf to wander into a dark alley alone... |
| anglar03-15-04, 06:17 PM | After a few moments, Anglar walks to where Aravilar is preparing dinner. "Ava, though I cannot fully understand what sacrifices you have made to bring us here, I do appreciate it nonetheless. Sil and I are here for you and the Elves. Even if they never admit it, they will be thankfull to all the Seldarine that so many who are not pure-bloods have come to their aid. We will see this through to the end. We will see this through together." |
| aravilar_holistacia03-15-04, 06:38 PM | EVIL DOUBLE POST! |
| aravilar_holistacia03-15-04, 06:43 PM | Aravilar smiled to Anglar as he began to simmer a stew. "Thank you for your words..." Aravilar sighed and offered Anglar a seat at a wooden table. The mage went to a cabinet and pulled out some elven brandy. "Care for a drink, Lord Goldstems?" Aravilar asked, taking out two tumblers and pouring a bit of the golden liquid into each. "It's just a terrible situation, Ang. This place is like a gigantic deathtrap... for all who are not Golds," Aravilar said, setting the glass down on the table and taking a seat. |

Along the way he spies Zollex. Not wanting to interfere with Zollex's plan, he continues to Aravilar's. He knocks when he arrives, and basically lets himself in. "I hope I'm not being too rude or am late. Mother does have her requirements." Troy takes a seat with the others. "Not to put too fine a point on it, but this war at least for the now seems to be more about who has arrived to help than it is about who is here to end the way of the Elves of Evermeet. You risk a great deal by bringing us here, or at least tolerating me." smirks. "If it suits you Aravilar, I'd have no problem staying most of this this outside the city in the midsts of this war. Mother Mystra has and will provide for me. Besides, someone has to be out there. Why not me, if for no other reason than Cause I'm Castor Troy?" |
| aravilar_holistacia03-15-04, 07:15 PM | OOC: Took me long enough to figure out who you are, Troy. Aravilar called from the kitchen, "Come hither, Troy; have a drink with the Lord and I." Aravilar poured another glass and handed it to Troy when (if!) he went into the kitchen. The stew simmered quietly. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart03-15-04, 07:15 PM | Remebering the queens words he looks up at troy with a messed up face. Could the queen be...is she really that wise? Is that possible of a gold elf? "I will go with you troy...as you have prehaps guessed I am not comfertable around more then a few gold elves so I am sure you know I must hate this place and come here only for Ava (I'm not a racist I am a non-gold-elven-supremist ;P) and his favorable ilk. Anyways [Smirk] what better way to flaunt my woodland skills then with a wizard? Troy so you can get used to it...stand where you are and dont move no matter what your survival instincts, brain, or common sense tell you alright? Try also not to reflectivly cast a spell at me... Frosty then changes to his full-war-beat form infront of Troy. Any the humans in the World of Darkness would feint or at least resist but always forget what they saw, due to the culling of humans during the true dark ages of earth. Although that practice hasent existed for many, thousands of years all humans remember. Howver for the races of other worlds it is simply the fear that Garou posses to make the vampire princes themselves :censored::censored::censored::censored: blood and fey-kings scare. |
| Finwe03-15-04, 08:19 PM | As FInwe walks around the town, observing how his great great greatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreat greatgreatgreatgreatgreat.... (you get the idea) descendants have changed, he is astounded by how little so. Those who did not know of the LeShay (and they were many), treated him as an inferior, as if their heratige was somehow superior to his. He chuckled to himself at this. "Nope, we haven't hcanged one bit. Except for our skin colors, we are almost the same...." |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-15-04, 08:59 PM | Sil watches Castor Troy with caution. ....charm is not the measure of integrity. He seems up front - but something doesn't seem right. *turns to Castor* Green eyes focus on you. "Castor - what do you make of the Mythallar for consuming expired mages here on Evermeet?" Aravilar said to Sil, "My lady, Zollex has been staying with me for quite some time... But I have not seen the elf-bane..." "Nor I - he (or she for all we know) is a somewhat elusive character". She straightens the creases on her dress as she sits down. "....as is his wont. But of greater concern - we have heard no news of the Drow. Last I recall - they were developing Dark Elven Magic - which is anathema to Everything the Evermeet is." "Also - I have seen some creature about - who if I am not mistaken, bears some resemblance to LeShay. And I have not heard news of Frostbite Ravenheart - who is no doubt nursing wounded pride. For - his conduct at our wedding leaves me angered. And his manner seems to have undergone a change for the worse of late - and the undead powers make my spine crawl. Has anyone seen him." OoC: Frostbite - Your PM box is full - your will/fort/reflex saves are pending - and the DM has a job for you. If you want some DM power yourself - start a Frosty Thread if that makes you feel better. |

He sniffs at it in jest "Can't be too sure, now can I? It wasn't that long ago that you and I would sooner have drawn blades versus cups." Drains it glass in one gulp. "Tasty. Do I detect a hint of Lotus Leaf? Truly, I do believe the time we have now is better spent determining the best course of action for Evermeet." Turning around to address Lady Aldalome-Goldstems "Such a thing has been a practice since the time of Netheril, though I can't say I care for it. What crime could one commit to be sentenced to oblivion by other mortals. No offense intended here Ava, but even Chosens ae still mortals in the grand scheme of things. Arguments could be made that the gods are passing this judgement by allowing knowledge and the creation of mythallars, but I disagree. Too many times has a mortal perverted the intent of a god for their own wants. I can only speak from my experiences Cause I'm Castor Troy." |
| aravilar_holistacia03-15-04, 09:14 PM | Aravilar finally brought the stew out of the kitchen and placed the large pot on the dining table. "Evermeet... is in peril... but let us think not of it this evening... I want to spend this night in the company of friends. Let us drink to friendship and not to battle," Aravilar said to Troy. The mage summoned a stack of bowls and a handful of spoons. "Eat, drink, and be merry, friends... We may not be together like this for much longer." Aravilar sat down at the side of the table, allowing the Lady of the guests to sit at the table's head. "We are all together here... save Finwe! Frosty! Zollex! The Elf-bane! My lady Sil, have you still the pendants? Please, summon them to my home... I want to have a dinner with friends tonight." [privatementalmode]This may be the last time I see any of you again... | aravilar_holistacia03-15-04, 10:09 PM | Aravilar filled bowls with the steaming, hearty stew and began passing them round the table. | Silmarien Aldalome03-15-04, 10:32 PM | "....likewise Aravilar. Be ever welcome in our Halls." [PrivateMentalSpeech]...a lament it is - that people take shame from the declaration of fidelity and kinship - and set about being strategic in friendship. How do I tell my friends to take good risks - to tell it as it is, and to be overt in their announcements of care to each other. This also means talking about hurt feelings. But good lord! So much prevents people from healing in our troubled times.....Ai! What a world we live in....[PrivateMentalSpeech]. She assists to set the table, placing salts, pepper and various spices in neat arrangements at arms reach. She fetches the fresh breads - which adds a distinct aroma to the already hearty smelling meal. "Greetings Finwe - welcome." |
| aravilar_holistacia03-15-04, 10:50 PM | Aravilar said to them as everyone began to eat, "I suppose after we sup we should get some sleep... I will bring you all to the Queen tomorrow and we shall figure out what we are to do about the undead..." OOC: I want to REALLY REALLY play out the scenes that take place at night (lots of character development). I will post when the morning begins... for now... let us sup and eat and enjoy each others company... ere the night we return to our beds and sleep... Or wander the city... or do whatever is your wont. Greetings to you, Sil and Finwe :D Nice to post with you guys. |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-15-04, 11:09 PM | OoC: ditto Ava - yes - the character development is actually really important for long-term game longevity. You have to feel "as if" your Avatar is alive. Add to that - remember there are two other currently active threads - when Ang (Drow) or Sil (Half-Elves) post there - please contribute. It doesn't have to be 100 posts a day - even one every three or four days is great. Sil's going to post to Peredhil Halls when it's the right time - please contribute. We're still at the Wedding Reception. If Frosty keeps ignoring my request - I'll be contacting someone else with the DM's request. Treat it like your DM in real life, has taken you out of the room and told you something that you have to keep secret from the other players. I'll do that bit in PM-mode. And - start your own thread too - if you want "executive power" as a DM to alter the mythology substantially. Warm Regards to you all Stav PS - Gellion's got Zollex involved in something. We'll have to wait and see what he brings.... Stav |
| Castor Troy03-15-04, 11:23 PM | OOC - The next posts don't come into play until the party is going quite well. I have some old Anglar stories I'm going to tell. As the evening carries on and the mood lightens, Castor, in a hurried voice, says, "Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Ang, remember the first time we ever encountered a Wild Magic zone in Zarthos? I cast that fireball spell at the madusa and the damn zone switched my area of effect and by range around. Ka-blewey!. The blast shot us up a 100 foot tunnel. Stop looking so mad. You survived it and the madusa didn't." |
| anglar03-15-04, 11:37 PM | "Oh! You want to tell stroies about each other? Okay. What about the first time you ever met The Simbul? He's just left Zarthos and traveled back to Faerun. He decides to go back to Thay to see 'mom and dad' when he decides to stop by a stream to wash up before the big tell off. A group of Red Wizard Slavers come along and try to give him a hassle. Well, during the battle, The Simbul arrives and drives them off. The only thing he's managed to grab since the frakus started is his mask. Now, The Simbul decides to have a conversation with out good Mr. Troy here while he's still starkers. Two hours later she lets him get dressed." |
| Castor Troy03-15-04, 11:45 PM | "Hey! I wasn't the one blushing, and besides, I was doing just fine with them even before she showed up. It's no worse than some of the fights you've been in. This guy has, not once but twice, gotten into a brawl with a humanoid grasshopper. And, of all things, it was during a sporting event. Naturally he got himself disqualified from the match. Or! What about the giant snake that dropped on you from the trees? The thing had him half-way down its throa before his contingency kicked in. Aren't you glad I thought you that one? I would reckon Silmarien is Cause I'm Castor Troy." |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-16-04, 12:20 AM | Sil retreats inwardly as she studies the sparring males for a moment, as laughter cascades to-and-fro across the table. ....Castor vies with Anglar ...Don't let him phase you - I'm pretty sure he's a phony. There's something about his darling little face - it ires me so - and I know not why - but I want to smash his dimpled chin with a blast of Starfire beloved....I am ashamed of my feelings - they're very unlady like! "I have a tower - the Barad Ilca - that is also a Mythal in the Southern Hemisphere - nigh Mythal Skybridge." she says - scanning the table, her green eyes locking eyes with each of you one by one. A vision opens up before you - of an Elven Spire - silver-white in the sunshine and tall and stately - piercing the cloud layers and nestled and fortified in a deep valley between the meeting of two white-capped mountain ranges "This place remains my home in many ways - and it contains the Lore of Ages and all the Histories of the Southern Provinces." ...as a bird in flight - you suddenly approach the Tower at great speed - and enter through the uppermost window. You are surrounded by ancient Tomes - written in a Mode of Elvish all but forgotten....In the middle of the room - hangs a Lantern. It is Mithril and burns with silvery light - in the form of two trees intertwined... "...When we first found the vale - it was in ruins - burned by the ancient Elf Wars and by the Betrayal of the Human Aziz, who is also my grandfather.." a look of shame comes over Silmarien's face. "..because of this betrayal and because of my human blood from Aziz - Telias hated me, and sought to wrest the Tower from mine control...He came to us - and tricked me into letting him in the tower...thence - launched his Wizardry against us..." You see the corruscation of dweomer - as bolts of Pereldar Fire erupt and burst on Telias - as he hurls corrupt Red Wizards Fire. Blast after blast - as the powers strove... "All would have been lost - but for Jeomass the Barbarian - who struck Telias down with his Mighty Blade. This is how I found the Ellaedun - mightiest of Elven Artifacts in the South and keeper of Mythal Lore..." "But tell me Finwe - how came you to our homeland yourself?" |
| Finwe03-16-04, 08:31 PM | "Oh, well that IS a long story. I suppose the best place to start is with Arv. Now, Aravilar and I have been friends for thousands of years, to tell the truth. When we were younger we used to adventure across time to find challenges beyond the ken of this age. Netheril itself bored us, and we sought furthere into the past, although I knew was lay in store if we were to... were we to go too far back. So we were always cautious. After we had accumulated enough wealth to buy Faerun a couple times over, we decided that maybe our adventuring days were coming to an end, and so we returned to the present. Aravilar and I then split ways for a time. As I wandered across multiverses, I cam upon a great mage, a fellow chronomancer who had escaped from Netheril when the empire fell. He was starting an organization, Called the council of Archmages, for any who would study the workings of the arcane. In interest, I approached him, and we made the council great together. Others flocked to our banner, and our prestige grew and grew. We moved to a local more suitable for all inhabitants of the multiverse, a plane specialy made to connect between different realities, where our ranks swelled, and for a great time we were at peace. Eventually, Aravilar too found his way to the Council. Both of us had changed much, but our friendship was still not broken. Ever since then we had still had some adventures. It is easy for us to communicate, because of our name attunements, which is exactly how Aravilar summoned me here in the first place, and why I apeared here before you called out to the others with the amulets. Silmarien, would you care to return the favor and tell me the story of your journey here? I know little of my further distant kindred..." |

He replies both out loud and mentally (because he likes to put people off their guard by appearing crazy and/or senile): "No force on this bleak world could drag Me through THAT particular bit of defensive magic without destroying it or causing some sort of cataclysm. And as much fun as that sounds (what with the destruction of Evermeet and the countless lives of elves lost) I'm still on my word here. However, I have sent a representative - an Avatar of sorts. He's unfortunately rather mortal, but he is kind of a Gold Elf so he should have made it there all right and is probably wandering about the city rather confused about now. He's a tall, gleaming fellow that goes by the name of E'li... now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to get back to cleaning." Meanwhile... The strange elf cocks his head to one side as if listening to something. After a moment he gives a slight nod and changes his direction of travel, heading vaguely in the direction of Aravilar's demesne. |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-17-04, 12:12 AM | Sil turns to Finwe and listens to the tale of the Chronomancer ...I know little of Chronomancers - I wonder... "Thousands of years!" Silmarien's eyes widen in surprise "How do you weather the years? Do you have the secret of Immortality Finwe?" hearing Finwe's question - Sil pauses for a moment as the other guests at Aravilar's tune in. "....I was born 300 years after the Fall of the Elf Princedoms, in a place called Indul. It is a beautiful city in the southern hemisphere of Toril. My father's father was Aziz, as I was saying, who betrayed the Elves...." her face suddenly sets into a mask of grief "I have never met my mother, though she somehow answers me in moments of great need. Mystryl granted us that much...We wandered the planes and the Old Empires without fear of death... but at the price inherent to all those who are cursed with immortality..." Aravilar (who was also a chronomancer in his own right) shook his head... He locked eyes with Finwe and thought, You and I saw all the deaths... all the battles, all the killings, the wars, the violence, the end of empires, the rise of nations, the slaying of gods and the ascension of new ones... We endured because we had to. The winds of time did not affect us; the spells of our enemies did no harm; all that harms us is watching our friends waste away while we remain... | Cyril The Great03-17-04, 05:52 PM | OOC: Happy Saint Pattys Day Everyone as the man above has said! I hope all your coffes and tea are looking a little green today :). In Character-: Cyril thought to himself "Now allowed to come to this world should I really try to take it over...I mean...there planet is mostly protected by the powers of there gods and there overgod...how can they withstand me without them?" Cyril almost laughed his head off at the notion of not fighting. Cyril walked through all different classes of warriors and people form the skeletons and pathetic necromancers army to the great liches and other undead generals until he made his way up to the leader of the lot. Although undead he was different from all of them, and not just beacuse he was a Vampire. "My friend, I think it is time I request a formal surrender from them. If the great grandsons of Ashly are here expect a surrender, If the Grandsons of Ashly are here except a fight, however my friend I think you must best be prepared if the "Son" of Ashly is here...although that would be a spectical... Cyril the great walks out of the dark leaders chambers. He wasent so much as asking him to go as he was telling him that he was going. After all the dark lord supplied the army and cyril supplied the greater magics and skill only found in those rare individuals. Cyril came apon a great general of Evermeet. None of his soldiers attacked him. None. He was using all sorts of spells and skills to stop them. All of them. He looked at the general then stated quite cooly "In the name of Myself and The Darkness that is about to swarm over your pathetic little villages and the paper throne of your queen. If you do not comply well..." Cyril points a finger at the General. He keeps it there for a second letting the General get really scared for a second. After the General regains his dignity but before he can speak a transformation happens. The general is transformed into a 20 foot tall dragon that has a break similar to a dinosaur bird or somthing similar. The transformation was painful and not even entertaining to watch. The soldiers could FEEL the generals pain...yet only a glimpse...but that shadow of doubt will linger and then multiply. Cyril hoped on the back of his "new-found-pet" and flew off back to the dark lord to give him a little present for letting him come into this world. Oh how the darkness of this Lord of Darkness and the Undeath is not nearly as dark and the depths of Cyril. Cyril The Great. |
| anglar03-17-04, 06:54 PM | OOC - I'm presuming that the above is a BBEG. Anglar winces and puts a hand to his left temple. "Either the Elf-Bane is coming or a very powerful undead has just come within range of me." He takes a moment to concentrate. "A Vampire. I should have guessed. Castor, you have your work cut out for you with this one. Or I could just tickle his ribs a couple of hundred times. It's funny, I never seem to be able to get away from Vampires." Winks at Frosty. "You know, there is a Elven High Magic Spell that reverses the effects of being undead. We may be able to make good use of such a thing." OOC again - It is rather funny than Anglar has gained friends amongst the undead when for so long he has hunted and killed them. Tenzhi, are you Lich or something else? |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart03-17-04, 07:45 PM | OOC: Heh do you consider me undead? IC - "Hmm I know of such magics" Says Frosty. "However they will not work on one of my kind...you see...beside the fact I am was not made here nor bound to its rules and limits yet somehow more limited...magic here seems to have an odd effect on me. High Magic as crazy as it is...I have never allowed it to be cast apon me. Likewise without my Vampire powers I will not beable to defeat this new adversairy I have hea..." Frosty stops dead in his speach. He grins yet tries to hide it then says with a gloomy look "I fear I know who has come...That thing that this new evil has made. It sounds like a zulo. There are few people who have seen them...even fewer who have fought them...but there is only one man I know that could ever MAKE one and control it...if my predictions are right and that was a Zulo inplace of a monsterous bird then I know this evil is greater then you have imagined...I know my duty...I must set out tonight! There is no time to explain I must show the bane of the accursed what a TRUE vampire is! [Mentalnote to Anglar: I dont need to make you promis to watch over the others but please dont forget...[MentalSending stop] Frosty rides out into the night with a big grin on his face. And, incidentally, he's not even Evil. The strange elf stops someone and asks for directions to Aravilar's manor in his eccentric accent. After an odd look and some muttering about "everyone knows where that is" he gets the directions he's looking for. |

There is the sound of someone at the front porch - as footsteps sound an arrival. A bell chimes in Aravilar's home. When the tall Gold Elf arrives - Sil looks at him with unmoving face. "Greetings! Who are you?" she says without any deference to propriety. |
| Tenzhi03-18-04, 08:10 PM | The strange elf thrusts aside his cloak revealing a combination of finely wrought chain and plate armour gleaming with a silver that rivals Mithril. With a gesture his lance disappears into his glove and he bows with a flourish. "Forgive my intrusion, Lords and Lady, but I'm informed that my aid may be required here shortly - and I was intructed to seek out one Lord Aravilar to offer said aid." |

With a few gestures and some inaudible words the dried blood vanishes from Frostbite's clothing. "Things seem to be speeding up around here. If no one objects, I think it my be best if we all turn in soon so as to get a good start on the next day. Mystra knows when we may have a chance for another good night's rest." | aravilar_holistacia03-20-04, 03:26 AM | Aravilar gave a slight nod at the mention of rest. "Perhaps it *is* time for sleep... I had the guest rooms made up for each of you," he added. "Sil, Ang, I apologize most profusely; your guest bedroom is the finest I have in my home... and yet still it is not the honeymoon suite you deserve. I am sorry..." Aravilar's head dropped slightly. "Well.... ah... in any event I will not be staying here... Heh, Chosen of the Lady of Mysteries have no need for sleep... Mystryl also granted me that..." But in Aravilar's eyes it was apparent to all that he was deeply in need of rest... those who do not sleep can seem most energetic of all, and yet, always in their eyes can you look deeply and see they need to rest. Aravilar turned his mismatched blue and grey eyes on Frosty... E'li... Zollex... Finwe... Castor... Anglar... and Silmarien. And with his eyes agleam with Mystra's silverflame, a sort of wistful glance that spoke Aravilar's true age, his true insight... Aravilar nodded and bowed, and said, "Please, make yourselves at home. If you need me..." he said, tugging at his pendant, "I will be at my love's temple." Aravilar turned and walked out the door with a flourish of his starcloak. |
| Bait the Bard03-20-04, 03:58 AM | (( MHWAHAHAHAHA!!!!! The APPRENTICE is Here!!!! )) Slwoly strolling to the entrace of the hall, Delwyn spied his old freind Avarilar walking sleepily through the equisite gardens, heading, presumably, to the Temple of Mystra, the great golden halls located in the sacred groves and hills. "Greetings, my lord, Avarilar. You look tired, well, that is not unusual for you, I may say so. May I accompany you?" Walking next to Avarilar, Delwyn gazed around him at the beutiful gardens, statues and arches, that had been changed somewhat scince he was last here. That was 5 years ago, and scince delwyn had been sneaking through the North and the Western Heartlands, finding lost elves and helpinf them to escape, gathering information and setting up his own network of agents and informats. he had nearly been killed several times, and once captured by the drow, which is why his left hand had been replaced with a magical hand, made of molten silver. "Tell me now, my freind, what is troubling you? What has changed at court? I sense something... something ... different about this place that was not here when I left." - the annoying bard (( PS - can I be a DM too? Just to annoy you..)) |
| aravilar_holistacia03-20-04, 02:35 PM | Aravilar smiled slightly and said to Delwyn, "Good evening... Lord Delwyn. Yes, yes, look about you: Evermeet is a shadow of what it once was. The Isle of the Seldarine is tainted by arrogance... and by darkness." Aravilar continued walking. "Are you coming with me? I am going to the Temple of Hanali; she is waiting for me, or so I hope." Aravilar's eyes were misty with tears. |
| Bait the Bard03-20-04, 03:41 PM | "Certainly I will come." They left the gardens and startedup a small hill that lead to the temple, the road to it linedwith great trees and beautiful fountains, and small creatures running amongst the undergrowth. The moon had just started rising above the trees, and bathed everything in a subtle glow. Silenty praising Mystra, Delwyn turned back to his companion. "Sickness, and arrogance, I can see, but darkness I can see not. You are rarely wrong, yet deep within I pray that you are. I have seen enough darkness for a lifetime, but am sure to see more. Tell me more, how has the darkness come here. They came here to flee the darkness, was it not so?" Some way infront of them was now the Temple of Hanali, its silvery walls slightly gleaming in the moonlight, and its arched entrance simple yet beautiful. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart03-20-04, 06:49 PM | Frosty looks at the people around the room "Many of us are outcasts to this place due to our race...all of us are outsiders. Not only does Gaia grant the garou "gifts" which you would understand as spells although different she also gave us "rites" which is a longer prosses that rarly charges us of energy yet time and numbers. There is one rite called rite of the pack that forms a bond stronger then you can imagine. Beacuse you are not garou and this is not my homeplan I will not cast that here, I was the first to do it with non-garou and that had terrable affects even when lunas eyes were watching us. However me and a friend devolped this rite to bond various creatuers together in somthing that is similar to a pack yet not as strong nor with a totem spirit guide. It is called the parcomerta. I have never ever used it on anyone on this world or on this world at all but if your willing I shall today. This is a place were our allies hate us and our enemies want to kill us. This is a place where some creature who I found out is indeed cyril has the magic and the might to take us down one by one, not to mention the fact that he is allied to an army of darkness. If you accept, this rite will allow us to be in contact with one-another all the time and our fighting together will make us unstopable. Even though the lion is stronger then the wolf four wolves are stronger then four lions for the wolves have better tactics. If you all accept I will only need help from silm, all the rest of you may sit back. -Frosty |
| Tenzhi03-20-04, 07:18 PM | E'li frowns at Frostbite's words. "As of yet, I hardly know any of you - and while I am bid to aid you (and am always happy to thwart the designs of evil), you'll forgive me if I decline to join a magical bonding of any sort." |
| Finwe03-20-04, 07:46 PM | Finwe calmly watches the progress of dinner, content to contemplate in silence........ |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-21-04, 06:37 PM | To Aravilar - "Thank you kindly - we are humbled by your generosity....." The newcomers interrupt her. She looks to Delwyn and adds to his comments "sickness, arrogance, but not darkness. I would add - that it is the Shadow of Health that we combat". She studies the tall Gold Elf - her green eyes fix upon him. "E'li" she says and stares at him with forroughed brow. Sil studies E'li talking to Frostbite, hearing E'li's refusal - and she winces as she sees the dried blood on Frostbite's clothing. And shudders at Caster Troy's eagerness to clean the blood. "Hello Frostbite." she says watching you with steady gaze "prithee - tell us more about this bonding ritual - for we already have free communications amongst us. How can I help you?" She looks to Caster Troy and says "Honeymoon...not exactly what we have here on Evermeet. Where is your abode then Castor?" |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart03-21-04, 07:42 PM | "Frosty looks up at Silm. This rite will allow everyone to always know where the other one is and will allow telepathic like talk between us at great distances. As I said before If we were to fight together all at once we would be a lot stronger. We would beable to sense eachothers movements and the moves they are about to make, likewise we would share senses this way if for say a great creature I had just killed was gonna fall on me anglar per say would know this, sense this, and come rushing to move me while under his previously casted haste spell. Instead of you seeing me die basically you would sense I was introuble then help me. For give me Eli I had forgotten you were present in the room, most of these men and women I had fought with before. Some way infront of them was now the Temple of Hanali, its silvery walls slightly gleaming in the moonlight, and its arched entrance simple yet beautiful. "You are right; the People came to Evermeet to escape the mainland Faerūn... but even here, darkness abounds," Aravilar explained. The silver columns of entwined vines and gilded stars garnished the outer facade of the Temple of the Lady Goldheart. Aravilar bowed slightly as he entered the chapel. "Delwyn--are you coming inside?" Aravilar asked the man. The court mage walked further inside the temple. One cleric noticed Aravilar's entrance and quickly walked over to the archmage. "Lord Aravilar, the Lady left strict orders for us to--" "Belial," Aravilar said to the High Cleric, "I need to go into the Cloister. Please," the mage added. Belial Starmantle was the High Cleric of Hanali on Evermeet, and the old, graying elf's ears were withered and wrinkled with the ages of time. Belial's flyaway, white-and-gray hair was always standing up, almost on end. "Lord Aravilar, all the Cloisters of the Seldarine have been inaccessible to all of us... The gods are worried and angered... the rumors of demons and undead and ghouls must have caused them to seal the Inner Sanctums. Your Lady's Cloister is completely filled with liquid fire, my lord," Belial said matter-of-factly. Aravilar shook his head slightly and looked up into the silver-painted ceiling, which was shining with bright golden light currently. "I must speak with her." The High Cleric mumbled something about "stubborn high mages" before walking up a short flight of stairs to a door. ((OOC: Ever played FF10? Think about the temples in that game.)) The High Cleric touched a finger to the door, and a short unlocking sound was heard. "Lord Aravilar," he said, turning around, "the Lady left me specific instructions not to allow anyone into the Cloister except for yourself." "Delwyn can come with me," Aravilar said a bit forcefully. High Cleric Belial merely turned away and walked into a side door. Aravilar turned to Delwyn. "Time to go see Hanali, hmm?" He opened the door and said, "Coming, Delwyn?" |
| Zollex03-21-04, 09:45 PM | Zollex followed the strange elf to Aravilar's tower. When Zollex saw the elf enter, he waited outside for a few minutes. He entered the tower slowly. Zollex dispelled his illusions. When he reached the room his friends were in, he took a deep breath and opened the door. "Well, who might this be?" he asked. |
| Bait the Bard03-22-04, 12:17 AM | "Welcome, dear elf, though I have never before laid eyes on you. I am Delwyn, recently arrived here." Turning back to Avarilar, who was looking around the room in a sad way, Delwyn pause for a moment to give his old freind some peace of mind, then said: "Deamons? Devils? Undead? In the Inner Sanctum? The state here is much worse then I would have believed. Yet, it seams that when i caome from an adventure, I am thrown strait back into the Pits of Hell. And that bloody High preist..." "Yet, I will come with you, for there should be no desecration of any temple in this place. And I do like the odd bit of adventure.." Turning again, he strode accross the floor to the large doors on the other side of the room, and startedtrying to open them. |
| aravilar_holistacia03-22-04, 12:24 AM | The Cloister of Hanali was a roiling inferno... a veritable maelstrom of flame. "Love, you can turn down the fires..." Aravilar said, squinting into the fires. "Hanali, please." But the fires roared even louder... although they did not burn Aravilar's or Delwyn's skin or clothing. Aravilar led Delwyn further and further down the long corridor into the maelstrom. "The Inner Sanctum is near... I don't think there will be any enemies... but these flames... Hanali must be angered," Aravilar said. |
| Bait the Bard03-22-04, 01:03 AM | The flame was a rolling mass, yet while it did not burn, its yellow orange bellows certainly blocked vision, yet through the flaming carnage Delwyn glimpsed veiws of a magnificent temple. There were glimses of fluted marble colums, tapering to thin middles, so the high, vaulted ceiling was seemingly supported on nothing. On the walls were marvelous frescos of Hanali, portrayed in a variety of poses. There were also scenes of great elven battles, and suchlike. The scence on the roof was even more impressive, depicting the creation of the world. The were mighty balls of fire and water, heavenly beings flying through the spaces, and clever goldwork throughout. After striding quite some distance into the room, Delwyn saw where they were headed. On the other side of the room was a small door, but even from here Dwleyn could sense that magic radiating off the doorway. It was also sealedwith, as far as Delwyn could make out, several potent spells to prevent it being damaged or broken through. "Avarialr, is this such a wise thing to do? the spells on that door, are, to say the least, potent. if there is such a great danger behind it, while no dought it should be killed, can I prehaps be not the one to die?" |
| aravilar_holistacia03-22-04, 01:09 AM | Aravilar smiled slightly, his mismatched eyes glinting with the flames. "Hanali wouldn't kill me, and she won't kill you either, Delwyn," he said with a half-grin. "She is probably expecting us." As if the goddess were listening, there was a click in the small door. "You see?" Aravilar said. "I believe we may enter now..." The mage looked up and around first, to make certain there were no threats, before he laid a hand on the doorknob. Behind that door rested the avatar of Hanali Celanil, and behind that door was eternity. OOC: Excellent post, Bait!! :D |

| aravilar_holistacia03-23-04, 11:12 PM | Narym Alastrarra was not usually out on the streets of Evermeet at night, but there were times when Queen Amlaruil required his services. On this night, Court Mage Narym was briskly walking towards Aravilar's tower. The breeze of the sea whipped about his shoulders, causing his cloak to ripple. He clutched at the cloak for warmth. When the court mage reached the tower, he politely knocked on the door. "Lord Aravilar," the mage called out. ---- As Narym paid his visit to Aravilar's home, Queen Amlaruil was trancing in a tower of her own near the castle. "My Queen," an attendant said quietly from a doorway. The Queen blinked several times, returning from her divinatory state, and turned her head towards the attendant. "Yes?" she said absentmindedly. "Arms-Major Starfayn reports that the--" the attendant began, but from behind him came a soldier clad in gleaming silver plate mail, rushing down the corridor. Queen Amlaruil's eyes narrowed at the sound of the approaching soldier. "My Queen," the soldier said breathlessly, pulling off a steel helmet. From under the helmet, a sheet of bluish, sparkling hair fell to around the soldier's shoulders. "Lady Starfayn," the Queen said to her Commander of Troops. "What news from the keep?" "The demons are attacking the north gate. I've dispatched three battalions of infantry to defend them, but the outsiders have some sort of magical resistance to our attacks. Even the mages on duty cannot penetrate their shields. We need the Akh'Faer to defend with us," the blue-haired moon elf suggested. "Where is Aravilar? Does he not know of the attack?" The Queen shook her golden-haired head and said, "Aravilar went to Hanali's Cloister to try to find out the nature of these shadows... I do not know if we can call him back." Tessele Starfayn's face grew red with anger. "He is always going to see Hanali. Why is he not here when we need him most?" The Queen silenced the Arms-Major with a gesture. "I will call him back. Go retrieve his friends and tell them what is going on." "By your command, Queen," the woman said, turning and leaving. ---- Aravilar was between eternity and infinity inside the Inner Sanctum, but he was still conscious. "Hanali." The goddess's avatar was surprisingly absent from the white-hot chamber. "Delwyn, we must leave from this place... Something is wrong if the goddess's visage is not here. There must be an attack approaching..." And then, as if Aravilar's words were the catalyst for the incoming fire, a massive explosion and ball of fire rose from the town square, mere feet from the Temple. Aravilar cried, "Delwyn! Let's go!" Aravilar ran from the Temple, running past the clerics and out into the street. Only 1000 yards away was the North Gate, where an epic siege was about to unfold. |

| Bait the Bard03-24-04, 12:47 AM | Furiously running out of the chamber, following Aravilar, Delwyn was not so surprised to see a large deamon army almost at the north gate. He had had worse surprises, though not by much. Realising that Aravilar must have his own spells to cast, Delwyn headed to support the troops, because he knew that they would need someone to help them, and he got bored hanging around casting spells. Summoning up some magical protections to aid him in his fight, Delwyn started recounting an epic verse of the great victories against the drow of early times, hoping to inspire the soldiers on to better effort. Running across the square, Delwyn pulled out his trusty short sword, Thequibul, which he had found in some dark, dank forgotten old dungeon, but had proved its worth many times. The blade lit up with a green-blue glow, its best options for fighting deamons. Delwyn was never quite sure what it did, but it seemed to do much more damage against demonic foes, which he was well pleased with. it seemed to have a different effect against whatever foe he encountered. Running through the ranks of soldiers, Delwyn cried out: "To me! Rally! Drive them back!" Finding himself about to have his head sliced off by a scything talon, Delwyn ducked the blow and lunged forward, expending a slight magical spell to distract the deamon. His blade went right into its side, causing a howl of agony, and the deamon flailed around, killing several other elves in its death throes. Deciding it would be healthier to stay out of the fight, dewy stepped back, and there stood to one die of the gate, singing his epic poetry while preparing useful spells to have. - the annoying bard |

| Captain Eep McEep03-25-04, 08:53 PM | A large fleet of airships appears in the sky above the city, floating overhead. At the front of the lead ship stands a small monkey wearing a pirtate captains hat. He looks out across the city and out toward the incoming force. He sat down and watched what promised to be an exciting battle. Turning to a few other monkeys on board his ship he began to speak. "Eep eep eeeep eeep eeep eeep eep eeeep eeep eeep eep eep eep eeeep Eep McEep. EEEEEP EEP EEEEP!" He sat and watched, cannons appearing from the sides of all ships in the fleet. | aravilar_holistacia03-27-04, 05:44 AM | "Would someone like to explain why there is an army of mezzoloths outside the North Gate?!" Aravilar appeared inside the War Chamber, inside the Queen's palace. "I said, would someone like to explain why--" "Aravilar." Aravilar turned his head sharply to meet the woman's eyes. "Tessele, would you care to explain? Or is that too difficult for you?" Aravilar said scathingly. The blue-haired Arms-Major obviously didn't catch Aravilar's bladed tone. "There was a major earthquake outside the North Gate before the attack. We think--" "What's this 'we'?" Aravilar said loudly. "The Akh'Velahr and I think that--" the Commander of the Army began. "The Akh'Velahr aren't the ones to make that call, Tessele--" "The Akh'Faerna aren't either, Aravilar; you mages need to--" "I thought I explained that when there was a--" "Mages are always like this--" "--that we were prepared for--" "--and I told you that there would--" "--Akh'Faerna are the ones who--" Aravilar was cut off by a loud rap of a staff on the ground. He quickly looked away from his rival, and said, "Queen Amlaruil, my lady." The mage bowed slightly, and Queen Amlaruil said, "Both of you, silence! I will not have my Spell-major and Arms-major constantly fighting!" The two commanders mumbled apologies. "Yes, my Queen," they said in unison. "I want a report. Now." The Queen looked livid. Before Aravilar could open his mouth to speak, Tessele said, "I sent three garrisons to the gate, but it looks like we will need some wizards to defend it as well." She said the word "mages" as if it were a curse. "Maybe if the soldiers could properly equip themselves with--" Aravilar replied nastily. "Aravilar." The Queen's face was devoid of emotion. "My Lady?" Aravilar's eyes glinted with rage. "I want you to personally go to the Gate and repel this invasion," Amlaruil said. Aravilar nodded and brushed past the Arms-major roughly, walking to a window and casting a spell, but before he could speak the command word to teleport, there was another large explosion. "What in the name of Corellon was that?" Tessele said, running to the window. The South Gate had just literally been detonated, a gigantic cloud of dust and rock spreading in all directions. "The South Gate!" cried Aravilar, Tessele, and Amlaruil at the same time. Aravilar quickly said, "I'm going to the South Gate. I will hold off the attack personally until reinforcements arrive." With that, Aravilar was gone. ---- Narym finally gave up on knocking when the second explosion hit. "My Corellon!" Narym said loudly when the smoke plume rose. Narym broke down the front door to Aravilar's home and said, "Lady and Lords, there has been an attack! Come quickly, to the South Gate!" Narym ran like lightning to the southernmost portal out of the city. |
| Zollex03-27-04, 05:09 PM | "Show us the way -- quickly!" Zollex ordered Narym. The half-elf ran after the court mage. Aicanįr, what's happening at the South Gate? There is no South Gate, Aicanįr responded. What do you mean? Zollex asked. It just exploded. Zollex's eyes widened in surprise. Keep an eye on where the gate was. Alert me of anything important. Zollex stopped, cast a spell, and ran to the south twice as fast as he was going before. |

OoC: G'day Malzel (Ozzie Drawls) - welcome. IC: Sil hears a loud detonation coming from the South of the City. The crockery at Aravilar's home rattles as aftershocks ripple through the city. She looks at Anglar - her eyes look concerned as she clasps his hand. "The storm has come beloved. Let us do what we can." she hears Zollex call "..Show us the way quickly". At the same time, she sees a flash of evil cross Frosty's face, and watches a smirk on Castor's face quickly erased. As Zollex runs to the Gates - she looks Frostbite and Castor Troy each square in the eye and says half to Anglar, half to Frosty and Castor "I think I shall remain amongst the company of these esteemed guests." she smirks and narrows her eyes slightly and adds "I think I will stay close by your sides comrades. Come! Frostbite - where would you have us wander to? Perhpas the Mythallar? Perhaps to the Queens Court? Perhaps to the Mages' Laboratories and Research quarters - or something else?" |

| Bait the Bard03-28-04, 12:39 AM | It was getting bad, really bad. Both of the magically reinforced towers by the gates were now in ruins, smitten down by foul magics, killing almost a third of the soldiers as they fell. The soldiers were slowly retreating further back from the gate, and the bedraggled commander, who was standing near Delwyn, was trying to order the battle while cursing his lack of mages. Delwyn had organized an impromptu hospital, gathering the few low cleric, and getting them to heal the troops of the line, then sending them back in. The commander was the saving this growing body of men, to give them a rest, but more importantly to have some soldiers to throw at any break in the weakening line. The sounds of battle had drawn the citizens out of their houses, and while most fled, some had come to do what they could to save their fair city of marble buildings, beautiful gardens and golden arches. The commander had put them to work helping tend the soldiers wounds, and the few who had bows were shotting as fast as they could into the deamonic mass. To the northeast Delwyn could see a fleet of flying ships, presumably gnomish in origin, with what looked to be gnomes crewing them. This was rather a puzzler, because, Delwyn knew, any gnomes would have immediately come to the aid of the elves. No time to worry about that know. Pulling out an ancient batter scroll, Delwyn turned back to the battle, just in time to see a soldier cut in half by a descending claw. He had found this scroll during an adventure in the underdark, and had spent many years trying to figure out what it did, till he eventually realised that it was one of the unique scrolls made by a long dead archmage, Far' Kareth. The purposes of his scrolls were all very similar, causing destruction on a massive scale, more than enough to wipe out these deamons, but probably taking a third of the city, and himself, with them. So Delwyn shoved it back in his belt, and pulled out his trusty harp, the first one that he had ever had, now well worn, but also highly enchanted. Strumming the chords, Delwyn pulled on the magical power of the harp, and before his very eyes a magical ball of changing multihued colors began forming. Strumming still more, the ball became larger and larger, till it was about the size of a mans head. The Delwyn sent it spinning across the square into a deamons chest, just as he was rearing up to crush another soldier. The ball imploded on its chest, sending white flames rolling down it, and it writhed in pain. So did the elf it was holding. Then, in a matter of seconds, all that was left of the deamon, and the soldier, was a small whiteish pool of liquid, that was promptly stepped in. There were still too many deamons. - the annoying bard |
| Captain Eep McEep03-28-04, 01:10 AM | "Hmmm.. Ook, I've made up my mind..." The monkey who is apparently the captain stands and walks toward the mast of the ship. "We will hoist the black flag, and assist the elves!" With that the captain leaps up the mast grabbing onto a rope and dropping to the deck, a black flag rising upon the ship bearing a.. monkey skull? with crossed blades beneath it. "First mate Ook... ready the magecannons, and fire upon the beasts!" The red haired monkey turns and yells out. "You heard the captain! Load the cannons, FIRE AT WILL!" Various ooks and eeps are heard amoung the crew along with the shouts of men that crew a few of the other ships. The fleet splits off into two groups, turning to aim at the hordes on either side of the city. Energy plays upon the fronts of the cannons that peek out from the ship. Suddenly the air is alive with energy as blasts of magic explode amoung the demon armies. The lead ship slowly descends toward the city, firing upon the monsters with the most powerful off the fleets weaponry. A few normal cannons fire upon the hordes as well from the ships that float the highest in the air. "This just got even more interesting, didn't it ook?" The captain laughs and rolls around on the ground before leaping up and ordering the crew to fire again. |

| anglar03-29-04, 08:35 PM | OOC - back in the saddle again. Not much has happened, but I'm game now. [i] Anglar takes up hiw weapons and starts for the front lines. "If you need me, dear, just give a whistle. Until then, I think it best for my sword and bow to be with the others, keeping the demons at bay." The beautiful city was anything but now. Flames lit the night's sky. Screams of death, agony, and glee filled the air. Anglar rushed towards the sound of the pitching battle. When he arrived, he was reminded of the City of Nekraszal. It burned much the same way. Making his way towards some soldiers who were beginning to buckle under the constant pressure of what seemed to be a neverending flow of demons, Anglar took out his bow and quickly fired a shot at every demon with close range of him. Some fell, others did not. Those that did fall were quickly replaced by others. The end of them was beyond eyesight, though one couldn't dare to look too far away. "Do not waver, men! We will hold them here! Here, their flow into this fine city ends! The streets of this city will flow with blood, some of it your kinsmen, but the majority will be of these vile beasts! When dawn comes, this city will still stand! When dawn comes, WE will still fight on! When dawn comes, it will be the brightest day in the history of Evermeet, and you will live to see that day! But you must fight now, with all the faith you have in yours gods, your Queen, your brethren, and yourselves that WE must fight or there will be no Dawn for this city!" |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-30-04, 01:19 AM | Over the commotion in the city, Sil studies her husband with open care - and takes clasps his hand as she touches her forehead to Anglar's. She whispers "don't get hurt - I'm counting on you to come home to me". And then more loudly as she turns to Frostbite and Castor Troy "....but there is work that must be done here, is there not Castor and Frostbite?". |
| aravilar_holistacia03-30-04, 03:00 AM | "Lieutenant! Aim for the spellcasters!" Aravilar had been directing spells for the past hour, trying to stem the tide of battle... but even the combined might of the Akh'Faerna of Evermeet was being overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of attackers coming through the remnants of the South Gate. Aravilar quickly raised a sparking hand and loosed a bolt of red lightnings at an oncoming balor, which raised a hand of its own and reflected the bolt partially, sending another demon reeling with a large gash on its body. "Why in Corellon's name is the Mythal malfunctioning?" Aravilar said loudly as another demon came over the broken wall. The elven mage raised his left hand and sent a spiraling blast of silver fire at the demon, which quickly was reduced to flaming cinders. Finally, Aravilar looked up, and saw an airship firing cannons at the enemies. "Thank the gods..." he breathed, but before he could send a message to the ship, his attention was redirected quite forcefully to the battle when a ball of greenish flame impacted on his mantle and sent him roughly to the ground. He cursed loudly and pushed himself up. "Direct your spells towards the spellcasters, Corellon take you!" Aravilar said scathingly. "Lord Aravilar," a man in what looked to be captain's armor said, "Lady Tessele sends word she has dispatched a company of soldiers to the South Gate--" "There is no South Gate!" Aravilar cut the captain off. "Captain, go find Lord Narym and bring him hither; he must have gone to retrieve my friends." "At once, Grand Mage," the man said before running off into the city proper. --- Narym cursed loudly. "Lady Silmarien, Lord Anglar, follow this road to the South Gate; Lord Aravilar will be there. Gods, I wish I knew why the Mythal was failing..." |
| Zollex03-30-04, 10:23 PM | Zollex followed the sounds of battle to the ruins of the South Gate. "Mai'tac," he cursed in an ancient tongue. He cast some defensive spells on himself, taking care not to get hit by debris. When he finished the last spells, he produced a wand from his belt. The half-elf climbed up a latter that had been left out to the roof of a building. He rased his wand and chose a weakended spellcaster as a target. Zollex flicked his wrist, sending a ray of lightning from the wand. The spellcaster was hit square in the chest, and fell to the ground. Zollex looked at the rest of the battlefield. The demons clearly held the advantage of numbers. He slipped behind a building and let his mind wander. Zollex! It has been to long, came a voice in his head. There is little time for formalities, my friend. Demons have come to Evermeet, Zollex replied. When? How? What about the Mythal? the voice replied. I don't know....How many people do you have there? About twenty now. Most are away on missions. Get Tellree to round everyone up. We need all the firepower we can get here. I will be there shortly. We just captured a portal that leads to the island. Zollex blinked his eyes as he came out of the trance-like state. He regained his senses just in time to prevent a stray rock that had deflected off a building from hitting his head square on. Instead, it glanced the side of his head. The half-elf dropped to the ground with a thud. Aicanįr sensed his master's peril and swooped down from the sky, bombarding Zollex with telepathic messages all the way. Zollex didn't even moan. |
| Captain Eep McEep03-30-04, 11:31 PM | The lead ship which bears writing that says "the Barrel" on the side descends dangerosly close to the city. Almost scraping the roof of a taller building. The lead monkey jumps onto the front of the ship, pulling a scroll from a bag and sitting on the front of the ship. He looks over the scroll for a few minutes and suddenly a storm of arrows comes down upon the demon army from the sky. The monkey claps and laughs then pulls out another scroll, doing the same and then watching a group of flying demons drop to the ground before reaching his ship. The monkey stands again as the ships fire upon more demons. He looks down upon the elves and smiles. "I'm gonna be expecting payment after this!" He grins grabbing onto a rope and swinging backwards, narrowly dodging a lighting blast completely. "Even more if I lose ships! EEEP EEEP EEP!" The ship fires upon demons within the city, striking a building or two that crumble, crushing a few demons that were not killed by the blast itself. The monkey smiles clapping yet again. "This is getting fun!" |
| Tenzhi03-30-04, 11:40 PM | When E'li reached the remains of the South Gate and saw the hordes assaulting it he let out a fierce battle cry and charged forward. His armour seemed to gleam ever brighter, and where he passed the elvish soldiers were filled with renewed ardour and courage. He charged straight into a knot of fiends, and for a moment it seemed as if the tides of battle were completely turned in the elves' favour - that his fierce determination in battle alone might win the day. But ere long his charge was slowed, and then finally halted. E'li found himself surrounded by denizens of the lower planes. They were loathe to advance on him, for he was quick with his lance and his mere presence was unsettling; but neither could he make any headway for the horde was cautious and seemingly of endless supply. And then, a huge shape materialized from nowhere - an Astral Juggernaut no doubt conjured by some vile spellcaster. It advanced through the horde and smote E'li, it's colossal strength knocking him several yards away where he disappeared under a pile-on of fiendish foes... |

I will do all I can to help Cause I'm Still Castor Troy!" |

Perhaps the Weave is being rent - in which case, I would have thought that your Silverfire would better serve the city in the mode it was designed for. Healing." she pauses to flick her hair "I suspect we shall find plenty of enemies wherever we walk." |

The mages were looking warily at the scrying pool on the room's floor, and they noticed the South Gate's demise. "Guard that door," one of the senior mages said, and the others began to cast many wards and locks on the oaken door of the Mythallar's chamber. Go, now!" he commanded to the mages surrounding him. "Ar'tel'templa Cair'Quessiri Seldarineamin!" Aravilar called out loudly, and several of the higher-leveled mages repeated the chant, as a blue wave of force settled behind the retreating elves. The force-wall shone a bright cerulean in the smoky air, and Aravilar sighed a breath of relief as a green ball of acid-fire smashed harmlessly against the High Magic barrier. Suddenly, a shard of crystal pierced the spell and slashed Aravilar's face from just under his left ear, across the bridge of his nose, and into his scalp. The mage cursed loudly, but otherwise did not move to stem the flow of blood down his badly scratched face. The rivulets of red stained his black cloak, giving it a very dull and matted look. Aravilar's eyes trailed over the retreating elves until he noticed a man, face down on the ground. "Zoll!" he cried out, running to the half-elf. "Zollex!" he said again. When Aravilar reached the man, he placed a hand over the half-elf's forehead and cast a small healing charm... and white energies flowed into the man's body. "Wake up, Zollex!" he said softly. |

We come to help and they run away leaving us as the only targets! DIRTY ELVES!" Winged Demons fly after the ship as it ascends, the captain turning to face them waits. With a quick flick of the wrist the captain draws out another scroll, sending the majority of the demons following the ship to the ground. "Dirty elves making me waste my scrolls! They're going to owe me a lot after this one... charging them for all of these!" A hail of arrows comes from the crew of the ship that can take the time to fire. | Captain Eep McEep03-31-04, 10:52 PM | The captain glares down at the elves. Watching them protect themselves without regard for him and his crew that had come to help. "You see that Ook, they make their little barrier and retreat, don't even care about the people trying to help them..." The captain taps his chin for a minute then looks to his first mate. "Alright Ook, stop firing, we will stop the attacks against the demons, let the dirty elves protect themselves." The captain looks down at the city. And thinks for a mintue he claps and grins widely dancing around as an idea comes to him. "Actually, order the cannons aimed at the city itself..." |
| aravilar_holistacia03-31-04, 10:57 PM | It was like the world had turned to pure energy. Aravilar looked up quickly and saw a surge of lightning fire from the Palace. "The Mythal..." Aravilar whispered quietly to Zollex. The bolt of raw energy sped faster and faster towards the airship above the city. "Gods damn them, what have they done? They must be attack..." Aravilar's voice was drowned out by a sharp crack as the bolt of lightning struck the ship's bow. "Hurry Zollex, we don't have much time. We must get to the Palace as quickly as possible." |
| Finwe03-31-04, 11:06 PM | Feeling the immense magical energies around him swirl about and begin to dissipate, Finwe knew that something was wrong. He spoke softly, "Aravilar, what befalls the city?" |
| Captain Eep McEep03-31-04, 11:17 PM | Eep screaches as his ship is hit, he pulls out a scroll and sets a shield against further attack. Growling as he looks down at the city he points at the palace. "Fire upon the palace! The dirty elves ignore us until they feel like attacking people that were trying to help them! NEVER TRUST AN ELF! HAH!" The ships all fire upon the city, magical bolts of energy striking the city. Eep jumped up and down clapping his hands as he watched. "They dare strike MY ship! HAH! HIT THEM AGAIN! We'll rob the ruins of this dirty elven city when we're finished! They ignore us, then attack us, we didnt even fire but noooo, DIRTY ELVES!" |
| aravilar_holistacia03-31-04, 11:24 PM | Aravilar raised a hand and cast a spell of Elven High Magic at the airship. "Ar'menla'quess tel'templa!" the chant rang out, and a large bolt of golden light stretched from Aravilar's hands, lancing out to impact on the airship. "Finwe, destroy that airship!" Aravilar called out loudly, across time and space. |
| Silmarien Aldalome03-31-04, 11:30 PM | OoC: quick post - I'm snowed under ....looks upstream. *hands on hips* *mutters "goddam double entendres"* Sil grabs her handbag - and she biffs Frostbite over the head with it. "Don't be rude - I have one husband only Frostbite_Ravenheart. Clean your mouth up and mind your manners!" *scowls* OoC: Frosty - you may guide/lead us to the Mythallar room - Sil isn't in charge. |
| Captain Eep McEep03-31-04, 11:42 PM | Eep laughs as the bolt strikes upon his spell shield. The entire fleet turns and begins to fire upon the city. Blasting buildings apart as their blast land around the palace. "WHOOO!!!" Eep clapped and danced about on the ship then took on a serious appearance as he glared down at the elven high mage. He waved as a grin came across his face and the fleet fired again. He danced about on the ship watching the blasts strike the city. "So Ook, how long do you think it will take them to give up? Even if they do manage to get through the shields we'll just slip through another portal to be back a little later. Whoooo I love being the best pirate in existance! HAH!" The monkey claps and dances about before leaping onto a few ropes and swinging around on the deck ordering cannons loaded and fired again. |
| Tenzhi04-01-04, 01:11 AM | In a flash of silver light the horde is thrown back by the great silver dragon that E'li is now astride. The beast lets out a mighty roar and many of the fiendish minions scatter in terror and confusion. As the dragon leaps into the air a few dozen spells dissipate against its scales, the few that find their mark only increasing its ire. E'li spurs (figuratively speaking) his draconic mount into a dive, simultaneously impaling the astral juggernaut on his lance as the dragon snatches it into the air. With a great effort the elvish paladin wrenches his weapon free and the dragon releases its feebly struggling cargo just in time to bowl it into a gaggle of spellcasters crushing a few (too few) of them. E'li then wheels his dragon around to land where the gate used to be. Working in concert they manage to stem the tide just enough to make the battle seem evenly matched, but mortal stamina is not endless whereas this hellish army seems to be... unless something changes the hero is bound to fall eventually and the fate of Evermeet shall be dark indeed. |
| Finwe04-01-04, 01:21 AM | Reaching through space, time and the planes to achieve his goal, Finwe weaves a path through path of unknown reality. Reaching out, he grabs towards an airship.... "Oh, they won't be giving up anytime soon, and the shield was all too easily penetrated," said a voice from behind Eep. The grey robed Finwe removed his hood, and his wings materialize begind him. "The Legions of hell have limits, as do all living things. I am their limiting factor. You had best call them back before they are utterly anhialated." |

The monkey claps and dances about before leaping onto a few ropes and swinging around on the deck ordering cannons loaded and fired again. "Excuse me, Lady Silmarien. I'll return shortly. A matter has just come to my attention that needs taking care of as of now." Castor swooshes through the ranks of people before taking flight. He reaches the Skyship and stop just outside of it's shield. Making the gestures of a spell, he soon lands on the deck of the ship. "Captain McEep, I am Castor Troy. I am here to give you a choice. Either you can cease hostilities against Evermeet, or I will bring your ship crashing down to the ground. Slipping through a gate is useless now. I've anchored the ship here. If you choose the latter choice, know that I will cast an anti-magic field of Epic size, centered on this ship, which should bring it down. Those of your men who survive the crash will most likely quickly perish in the fray below. I personally apologize if you feel you have been neglected the acknowledgement of your help before just now, but there are many still dying down there. Until you changed your course of action, I didn't notice any of your men dying, though I may be wrong. Believe me when I say I can do what I've said. I can do so because I am a Chosen of Mystra, who is my mother by birth. I can do all these things because I am damned by Cyric, who is my father by birth. I can do all these things Cause I'm Castor Troy!" |
| Captain Eep McEep04-01-04, 01:58 AM | Eep taps his chin looking at the men. "Nope, not impressed. Its only meant to be keeping the spells out, dont care about the people, that isnt a problem." Eep walks in a circle around them humming before continuing. "Now, what exactly is it ye wish me to be calling back hm? I was perfectly happy to help these here elves, until of course they went and did what they did. Now, I'm perfectly happy blowing them up. Now, if everything has its limiting factor, then you have yours, and who says I aint that? Hm? I could easily be more than ye can handle mate, ye don't know." Eep hums a tune and looks down at the palace in the city below. "As for you troy boy, ye may have magics but that don't mean nothin to me. And ye should think again before makin so bold a claim as holding me in place and bringin down me ships. As fer ye bein a chosen, that means nothin ta me. If I wanted to I could rob that lady of yours without her noticin." Eep laughs and keeps circling the men. "Now, all ye need to do is pay me and I will stop this. Be much easier and would help ye save yer energies for them demons and such." |
| Castor Troy04-01-04, 02:31 AM | "While I do admire your arrogance, I'm not claiming to be able to do anything. I'm telling you what I can and will do. I will meet your price that you ask for. It doesn't matter what it is. Now, the question I have for you is 'Are you willing to pay a price for me not to kill you?' I'm not talking about your ships, your crew, or anything else. Just you. You want to dance this dance, you best be prepared for the last dance. My price for sparing your life is whatever you ask for your ships to leave and never return. In essence, the real price here is I don't kill you, and you leave. I seriously doubt you can do anything to hurt me. Take the hint. Your services are no longer required. Go leech a living somewhere else. And never threaten my mother. Mom's the word, And I'm Her Little Boy, Castor Troy!" |
| Captain Eep McEep04-01-04, 02:45 AM | Eep laughs "Kill me? Kill me? Boy, I've been to every plane, stolen from arch devils, demon princes and even deities themselves. I am not afraid of some chosen of Mystra. Look troy boy, I'm not the bad guy here, nor am I a leech. Your time and energies would be better spent dealing with the real problem. That being the invading armies of demons. Where as a simple amount money would stop this monkeys assault. Ye have far more problems stoppin them demons then ye do me. By that of course ah don't mean physically fightin. You claim to have great power, yet ye seem to be wantin to use it too freely. Where as I havent even begun to play! Hoho!" Eep dances a bit then grabs a rope and swings by troys head narrowly missing him. "Now ye see, ye be on my ship, and be threatenin me. I don't be likin that one bit. It be rude and inappropriate. Now I can stop the ships from firin, as fer the never returnin part... I would need to be gettin me pay first. I would have gladly helped, and still will help ye. But of course, this comes at a price. I think ye would be wiser to ask the eh... smarter chosen. It be no secret about that elven mage bein a chosen down in the city. And I believe he be havin more brains than ye in this situation." |
| Silmarien Aldalome04-01-04, 07:04 AM | OoC: Sculyblast - g'day and well met. I've seen you around for some months now. Captain Eep McEep - don't trust Castor Troy. IC: From deep within the city proper, Sil hears the sounds of blood and war as death shouts assail her senses. She feels the stirring of anger. The bloodshed is a fundamental betrayal of the reverence of life. On the one hand, there are the Elves, whose pious arrogance has kept them separate from truth for millenia. On the other hand - the legions of darkness and the endless railing of violence. The seemingly eternal schizm between Drow and Elf. Another detonation shakes the city, and from a distance, Sil sees a sheet of Cerulean light up the near horizon. One of the Evermeet Mages it would seem, fortifies the allied forces. And deep within - Sil senses the surges of the dying Mythal - its potency wavering at the hour of the city's greatest need. She looks at Frostbite and Castor Troy - and her face sets to iron. She taps Castor Troy's cheek with her index finger - and says "Come Chosen" and then turns to Frosbite "...the Mythal is ailing. I have received word - the epicentre is this way" she gestures. "We do not have much time." The trio run towards the Palace, the Elvish architecture looming in your senses. Radiant white interspersed with mithril symbols. As they approach the Palace Gates - Sil intonates, and the doors burst open before her, clanging loudly as they crash against stone. Into the Palace chambers - the richly decorated and royal palaces, and then, guided by mental instruction - towards the main stairwell. She pokes Frostbite with her staff as she encourages him forwards, with Caster Troy at her side.....and donwards they plunge into the dark underbelly of the Palace.... |

Though the number of dead demons far outweighs the dead Elves, the demons seem to have a never ending supply of reinforcemnets. "We have to find out where they're coming from. Sil, dear, I hope you get the Mythal back up and soon." |
| Finwe04-01-04, 07:42 PM | "Stolen form the gods you say? Right now you stand before one who has defeated gods! You have invoked a wrath upon yourself deeper than you know. And now, you face it." "TEEX TEMPORE EICIO!" Waves of pure arcane energy richochet throughout the boat, bouncing off of the magical walls. A rift in the continuum of time opens, ready to engulf Eep..... |
| Captain Eep McEep04-01-04, 09:58 PM | Eep yawns "You see, this is what I dislike about mages. One, they always think they have to show off their magic. Two, they think they have the ultimate magics of the univeres that nobody has seen before and is better than everyone elses. Three, they never want to take a simple path, instead they insist on wasting their power on a simple task." Ook nods as he watches the captain and the man. "Now, you run along and go help the city. I've already told ya I'll stop for a price and even help ya after. And it looks like ye could use the help there. Now, would you rather just go ahead and waste yer time, letting more elves die. Or pay me thus getting some help against these hordes here, and thus saving some elven lives." OOC: Love how every character here has godly magics ;) |
| Finwe04-01-04, 10:02 PM | Everyone is supposed to. Most of us are from the Council of Archmages. Arv and I are both leaderws, so we at least have a story-line right to have cool magics. Finwe is bluffing on the having slain gods part. |
| aravilar_holistacia04-01-04, 10:24 PM | Originally posted by Finwe Everyone is supposed to. Most of us are from the Council of Archmages. Arv and I are both leaderws, so we at least have a story-line right to have cool magics. Finwe is bluffing on the having slain gods part. OOC: That's a truth... Finwe is the Zenith Archmage of Temporal and Planar Magic and Aravilar is the Zenith Archmage of Elven High Magic, so yeah, that's an allowed power. DM Note: I can't be here while you people fight it out because my connection is being a bastard. Don't do anything story-shaking. |
| Tenzhi04-02-04, 12:04 AM | OOC: Hey... I don't have godly magicks with this character... A few spiffy class abilities and magic items, perhaps. But nothing approaching the raw power of an archmage - or for that matter an entire fleet of airships piloted by a clone of the Monkey King himself (talk about going overboard with power). |
| Finwe04-02-04, 12:18 AM | Your mother was a hampster and your fatehr smelt of elderberries! |
| Captain Eep McEep04-02-04, 12:27 AM | ooc: First of all, Eep is not a clone of the monkey king, doesnt even know who the heck he is. Second, a fleet of airships is nothing compared to god magic. Third, the fleet isnt so much more than an army of elves or half-elves. Maybe orcs and half orcs too? (refering to the main thread of this interlace game) So no, its not going overboard. |
| Finwe04-02-04, 12:31 AM | Meh, the whole point is to make it sound overly dramatic on both sides to make it cooler. If ya want to go down a notch, that's fine. |
| aravilar_holistacia04-02-04, 12:38 AM | First of all:  @ Tenzhi Secondly: Let cut the OOC chatter and finish this... 1. Captain, you need to either leave the city or halt your attack; it's disrupting the storyline. 2. The Elven High Magic of the Mythal is kinda powerful. Alright.... it's the most powerful magic on the planet. (Excepting deific spells.) If you think you can block EHM, think again. That's meh DM note of the hour. I don't want to see this internal fighting again--fight the demons, would you? |
| Captain Eep McEep04-02-04, 01:17 AM | one last ooc: well, ya sure know how to make a guy feel welcome, first ya ignore him totally then ya tell him to take off... whoo... |

OOC: 1. Not ignoring. If our characters saw the ships, we could interact with you. It's metagaming if we automatically know you are there. 2. I'm not saying leave. I'm saying that attacking the elves is disrupting the storyline. ;) |
| Captain Eep McEep04-02-04, 01:49 AM | Eep yawns and walks around Finwe "Well you people have gotten boring. Dirty elves and such, hope they get overrun, that would ammuse me. Anyway, I think you'll be getting off my ship now. So, walk the plank mate." Finwe is forced to throw himself overboard and eep claps, pulling out a black scroll and dispelling the anchor that holds him before opening a portals and flying through along with the rest of his fleet. ooc: and eep is gone and out of yer hair, thank you and goodnight. |
| Tenzhi04-02-04, 01:55 AM | E'li and the soldiers of Evermeet are slowly getting pushed back - the horde is just too much, the attack too well planned, and mortal strength too limited. Even the dragon is tiring, several minor wounds mar its scaly hide. Suddenly a glowing purple dart of energy strikes the dragon in the wing, the eldritch energies breaking past its natural resistance and shredding flesh from bone. Screeching in agony the dragon leaps backward from the thick of the fray. E'li removes a glove and lays a glowing hand on the base of the dragon's wing, healing some of the damage and easing its pain. "You've done all you can here, Silvara. Return from whence you came - I will call you again if I need you." And with a flash of silver light, the dragon fades away along with any hope of resistance. "We cannot hold them here any longer... unless something changes soon, this city is lost." |
| aravilar_holistacia04-02-04, 02:00 AM | OOC: Thank you Tenzhi for getting us back on track. [saving place for later post] |
| Orcy The Green Wonder04-02-04, 03:17 AM | A loud shout breaks through the raging sounds of battle. "HOOAH!" A blast of light explodes infront of E'li, when it fades a massive half-orc wearing full black plate mail sits atop a large wolf. He grins at the enemies around him tapping his sword in his metal hand. "Well well well, looks like I'm going to have to help the elves... ugh... I hate the though of it... but I suppose it must be done." He turns to look at the man behind him. "Move back to the city, Orcy will follow in a minute, he just wants to clear a bit of this up first. A portal should be opening in the center of the city soon, my soldiers will be coming through... so don't be suprised when an army composide largely of Orcs and Half-Orcs comes through. Orcy would hate for that to go wrong." He turns back toward the demons and begins running into battle, swinging his sword through demon after demon before stopping, facing the demons as a bright light shines from the eye symbol upon his chest. |
| Tenzhi04-02-04, 03:47 AM | When Orcy appears in front of him, presenting a rather menacing image, E'li is surprised and brings his lance to bear. When the Orc grins from atop his fierce wolf and says that he's here to help E'li is relieved - both for the assistance and for the fact that he does not have to cross weapons with this doughty warrior. "While I welcome your assistance, friend, I am not the commander of these soldiers..." E'li pauses to knock aside a 'stray' arrow aimed at Orcy's back. "Nor do I think these fools are likely to be so grateful..." he mutters. "I suppose I should attempt to give the order lest they needlessly throw their lives away..." Mustering a simple spell to be heard clearly over the din, E'li raises his lance and shouts "FALL BACK! FALL BACK TO THE CITY AND REGROUP!" E'li then turns to fend off a few minor fiends, watching the mighty green orc work his wonders. War creates strange alliances... |
| Zollex04-03-04, 12:10 AM | "You go ahead, Aravilar. I'll stay and help hold back the demons. I would only slow you down." When Aravilar was about to protest, Zollex interupted. "Wounds will heal. I've had much worse. Go to the Palace." Zollex stood up proudly, with a trickle of blood going down the side of his head. "I'll be fine. Go on." Zollex pulled a wand out from his belt and looked around for a defendable possition. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder04-03-04, 12:46 AM | Orcy backs into the city, fending off whatever attacks he can attempting to buy the elves as much time as possible. Meanwhile... in the center of the city a portal begins to spin into existance. Upon fully forming orcs and half orcs begin to step through. A few humans amoung them, moving out of the portal, weapons drawn. A few seconds after the orcs begin flowing out two half-ogre/half-orc men walk out, both carrying banners that bear the eye, Orcy's symbol, upon them. |

ORCY - Hoooaaaahhh *bows* *looks upstream* To Castor+Frosty: IC:...seeing Castor's eyes glaze over - Sil sees Castor's hungry-dog eyes - and she gets the sense of thingly disguised greed that is underneath this. I must ready my responses to this one.... Sil, Castor and Frostbite plunge down into the bowels of the Elven Palace - and the sounds of war are now gone. Yet the air is filled with a palpable heaviness. They turn a corner - and Sil watches Frosbite's eyes. She shudders - Yet even from the Darkness, the legacy of Elvendom is everywhere, even in the warrens underneath the Great Palace. Statues of Elven heroes at intersections - whose hands are outstretched in warding and whose eyes watch you as if their very stone was living. Those eyes promise ruin for betrayal and infidelity to the Elven Cause. But they are also sad somehow, and resigned to the Future - as it arrives in this now. There is a fell breeze that blows from the depths - carrying the stench of corruption - and whispers from the Darkness ....Ruin, Death, Destruction and Rage.....Elven Weakness is food for Shadow's Potence.....you shall fail...... In response - Sil intonates - and a flash of blue explodes from her staff - a bolt of Starfire shot at the Shadows......and Song in the Darkness Do you hear the Call of Higher Voice The Gulls and Oceans Sounding Grace And see the Sunrise - Golden Rays Beyond the Shores of Mortal Place She prods Frostbite in the back with the Runestaff - and says to Castor Troy "Chosen of Mystra - speak - perhaps your wisdom guides our Path". | Silmarien Aldalome04-05-04, 11:32 PM | OoC: Frosty - message received - Silmarien studies Castor Troy as he barks his commands - looking for a dissociation between his overt persona and private intentions. Her trust for the Chosen is at a very low ebb. She scowls at him, but - deep within, she feels the radiant presence of Rh'iel - who asks that she trust that life is bigger than any one being. You have the courage to do this - you and anyone else who would stand by your side when the moment Arrives. Summon all those who would stand by your side - propel the message through Unspace - do not use the Weave Silmarien Aldalome - it will betray you. Find another Way. She feels a warm glow of spiritual energy - and sings in the Darkness - all the while holding Castor Troy's gaze without blinking or flinching. She puts the pendant down - and instead, closes her eyes - and prays. She feels Unspace coalescing around her - the Radiant Divinity of Selune-Stuff all about is experienced from the Inner World as the unfurling of 10,000 stars within the minds eye - Silvery Radiance of Divine Spark - the Echo of Creation and a mirror to Life. Her Rune-Staff - bursts into Blue-Fire of the Pereldar. With the focus of Will - she propels a point of Starfire and Selune Staff OUTWARDS - towards the battlefield high above. At the Gate of Evermeet In front of you appears a silver point of starfire - burning in iridescence - its radiance akin to the sun with streaks of light burning into the sky. A voice speak to you from within - Those who would take the Journey with the Mythal and Mythallar - step into the light - Evermeet wars on two fronts - take your Choice - at the Gate or at the Heart of Elvendom.... |
| Gellion04-05-04, 11:51 PM | Silmarien receives a sudden mental image. In it, she sees an ever changing mass of matter in the center of the universe. So great is its size that others minds would be blasted to insanity by merely looking upon it. In front of this everchanging mass, she sees Gellion, and in front of him. The entire Seldarine pantheon. "Oh great one, here is a feast for you." The mass of matter enevelopes all of the Seldarine, they scream as they are devoured by the creature... |
| Silmarien Aldalome04-06-04, 01:44 AM | OoC: "devoured" means many things. And has many implications or connotations. Nice manoever Gell. IC: On Evermeet, mortals make their own destiny - and the events of the Pantheon are only indirectly felt in the Prime Material Plane. On the surface, the Evermeet Gate lies in ruins as Dweomer criss-crosses across the skies and as sword strikes sword. Down in the Darkness - another crew, make their way to the Heart of Elvendom. But - the Great Weave - is now a Power without a Master - and a great Power Vacuum has been created by the Imprisonment or Destruction of the Seldarine Pantheon. Yet, unlike the Moment of No Magic - at least for now - the Weave continues to function..... But Gifts have already been Bestowed: One at Peredhil Halls - where the Future remains ambiguous. A second in the Evermeet Palace And a third awaits at the Gates of Evermeet. The Destiny of Evermeet is in the hands of mortals. Choose. |
| Bait the Bard04-06-04, 06:26 AM | OOC - have i just missed something amazingly extreme, or id bait just hanging around at the gate, while all you guys are doing insane things to thry and save Elven kind? It the story of his life though, even as a character he always did nothing much *sigh* - the annoying bard |
| Silmarien Aldalome04-06-04, 06:55 AM | OoC: g'day Bait the Bard - yep - it just happened. Follow Gellion's lead everyone. Add your own personal agency/autonomy to the thread and allow your DMs to integrate the event. Be your most outrageous. Take an "IC Risk". Be daring. Also - Ava's snowed under until later this week. We have a show ready to go for you all - for Easter! Stay tuned. IC: ...your love for me Anglar Goldstems I reflect back at you in my own love for you. Beyond this, I know not what will transpire, and only that I have Faith. |
| Bait the Bard04-06-04, 07:08 AM | OOC - So some big light's appeared infront of me, and the funny booming voice just said stuff? And bait can't teleport! So i can't fly around like the rest of you guys!! be nice, give me wings  IC - The flaring light and noise spread over everything, the deamons writhing in pain, the soldiers blinded, both deafened, and every window pane shattered by the rolling voice. The great walls shoock, but stood, their strength and magic matching the force of the blast. Only Delwyn and the commander didn't seem to be affected, for whatever reason, the Gods were playing in this, and Delwyn knew they were crazy. All of 'em. (no offense to Ava :D ) Time to go. Hope those guys make it. They should at least hold out for a while, by which time it probably wouldn't reall matter. Sounds depressing. Delwyn reached over and grabbed the dazed commander by his gold embroidered collar, and pushed them both foward into the blinding light. Their bodies disintergrated, and then rebuilt, the light still shining around them, blinding them to the world. (( I can do a nice long description of you want me to, just PM me kinda what it should look like. Pleeese.. )) |

| Frostbite_Ravenheart04-06-04, 04:47 PM | Frosty looks up into the sky. A full moon he thought. Does that not mean I have just gained considerable skill and powers of fighter? Frosty could feel his blood pumping and his blood and battle lust booming unlike he hadent felt in ages. "God it will be good to kill again with my own two hands!" suddenly after that Frosty screams out "I WILL DEFEND THE GATE TO MY LAST BREATH!" Frostbite Ravenheart, the supposed Last of the Blessed of Luna...the slayer of three of the faces of the wyrm...this is who he was, this is his modivation. "Lets show them what a good little fighter I make before the after-party." Frost whispered to his familiar. OOC: Silm your still incharge of my character but I am giving you direction, motivation (and a little hint hopfully only you get) Switching to his fully-blown-out-garou-half-man-half-wolf-war-fourm-known-as-cronos he uses a few powers to jump over the front lines of battle defending the gates slashing wildly like a mother defending her pups. For a split second irony hit in in the back of the head like a demonic paw, he was risking his life for people that would eventually want to kill him. Why dident he stop his plan before motion? Why did he even agree to it? Suddenly Silms friend, Kedis Brother-in-Bardism and avas playfull bully disapears. What does appear though is a hidious creature and lots of fire...I mean...lots and lots of fire swarm the area... :) -Zakriumy |

| Gellion04-06-04, 06:04 PM | Silmarien receives another mental image. THis time she sees many creatures that do not abide by the laws of the multiverse, the ones that Gellion summons so often swarming over all of Toril, devouring and killing all they see. She then sees in her mind Evermeet being overrun by them, slaughtering all those she cares about, she watches as her beloved husband, Anglar. Is killed right before her eyes. | sculyblast04-06-04, 06:11 PM | After having a long wait, there was still no intruder spotted, so Quarius Re-sheated he sword and then walked around the halls a bit more, What could have happened why was there no attack? Maybe there was a clue found outsite the building, Quarius Climbed the stairs up to the exit, then when he stood in the portal of the exit, he heared a great voice speaking: Those who would take the Journey with the Mythal and Mythallar - step into the light - Evermeet wars on two fronts - take your Choice - at the Gate or at the Heart of Elvendom what was this voice? Quarius Could better head for the Gates to find someone like Finwe, Frostbite or Aravilar to explain him what was going on, maybe he had just missed a part of the voice's message he rushed to the gates looking for anyone familiar that could help him (OoC: Sorry Ava but I have allmost waited for 2 pages to make my second reply, so I take it that there are no intruders or that they where all vanished by gardians or whatever, anyways pm me if you want me to make additions) |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart04-06-04, 06:32 PM | OOC: I will just assume you all figured out I was Cyril... Cyril: Cyril smiled as he floated over the top of the gate apon his great beast "My ally wont mind if I ignore his bossy commands of spying and let me send down this beatifull creature" Cyril Seems to stand still as the zulo removes himself from cyril and flap his wings. Cyril smilled as he loosend his control over the beast. The zulo's eyes had grown back from there tame blue to that wicked red and charged forth at the front gate to break the elven lines...totally ignoring all the minions below him and this new darkelf who seems to be on his side. But before he could crush him beacuse he was the closest of all the minion and was realy in his way Cyril sent a message to the still-under-control-beast "Dont ask my friend I dont know why but this creature...just...dont attack it..." -Cyrilly |

Beyond this, I know not what will transpire, and only that I have Faith. The fields outside the South Gate strewn with the bodies of Elf and demon alike, Anglar looks out over the devastation. His hair is now in tatters as the wind blows it across his face. He sheaths his sword. "This has to end, and soon." "But what can we do?" asked a young Elf. "They are so many, and never seem to end their flow. It all we can do just to hold them here." "We aren't going to do anything," Anglar responded. "I am going to go out theree and find out where they are coming from and stop their flow." "How do you think you'll get past all of them?" the Elf lad asked increduously. "I'm not going to go past them. I'm going to kill them all." Anglar answered. <for effect, imagine White Zombie's "Blood, milk, and sky playing as background music> Anglar closes his eyes and the wind around him picks up. His shirt and cape melt into his belt. Slowly, he slides two silver stake from his hip holsters. His body twitches slightly as he enters his warrior's trance. When he opens his eyes, they are fixed with a fury of hell. Blood splatters from his mouth, running down his chest. He steps from the barricade and with a speed of movements that must be unnatural, he dispatches any beast that steps in his path. Bolts of lightning race from his body striking any who strike him while an aura of red surrounds his body. He leaves behind him a path a moldering and bloddined boodies. |

| Tenzhi04-07-04, 01:00 AM | OOC: Sometimes I think human language is not sufficient to properly communicate the surreality of Silmarien. IC: E'li watches the green Orc's fury with wonder, occasionally fending off whatever panicked beast makes it past his circle of death. Suddenly E'li is blinded by a light that dwarf's his own inner light. He hears a voice from within that quiets the din of battle surrounding him: "Those who would take the Journey with the Mythal and Mythallar - step into the light - Evermeet wars on two fronts - take your Choice - at the Gate or at the Heart of Elvendom...." He hesitates, the laws of this world alien to him. In his own world things would have been clearer to him and no doubt the choice made in an instant. But confusion and weariness win out and he just stands there transfixed by the moment. "You have made your choice..." He takes a hesitant step forward as the light fades away, "Wait, I don't underst*URK*..." The light disappears and E'li finds himself transfixed on the end of a hellforged spear. Moments later the grinning demon's head disappears as Orcish fury catches up with it too late. As E'li collapses to one knee, planting his lance for support he barely hears the Orc's parting admonishment ("Stupid Elf, Orcy told you all to leave") as he continues into the fray. E'li looks down realizing that he was holding his midsection, and sees blood of light glowing upon his hand. He looks up and his vision is again usurped by a blazing light - this one more familiar than the last. He stretches out his hand towards the light as a voice calls to him, "It's time to come home, my love." "Now I... understand," he gasps with his last breath and pitches forward, his blood soaking the ground. And so passed Paladine, a god who gave up his divinity for the mortals of his own world; and in the end a man who gave up his mortality for the sake of another world. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder04-07-04, 01:36 AM | The green wonder curses the foolish elf as he cuts through demon after demon. "Damnit elf... why are you people so stubborn and foolish. Well, time to take a break for a bit." The green wonders body glows with a bright light as he steps back toward the town, grabbing the fallen elf on the way. He raises his sword into the air with his free hand belting out his battlecry. "HOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" Light flows forth from the green wonder, tearing through any enemy unlucky enough to get in its way. The beam takes on the form of a charging army of half orcs as it passes over the enemies, incinerating them with pure energy. When the light clears a path stands 15ft wide and 40ft long infront of the green wonder. He turns and walks into the barrier, arrows bouncing off his armor as enemies take what they beleive to be free shots. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ...meanwhile The half orc and orcish army files into the city center. In the center of the group a human with a spiked chain wrapped around his arm walks through, looking around for anyone that may be the commander. "Whos in charge here? We come with orders from Orcy the Green Wonder to assist the elves." Grumbles and orcish insults are heard from the assembled troops as the look at the elves and their fancy buildings. This was going to be an interesting battle indeed. |

| Zollex04-08-04, 11:44 PM | OOC: Orcy, what's a "Wodner"? This has got to be my longest RP post ever. Oh, yeah! 200th post! IC: Zollex took a look around a corner. He saw a demon smashing a building with its powerful fists. The half-elf looked to his wand.It had only three charges left. After taking a deep breath, Zollex jumped around the corner and flicked his wrist. The wand in it discharged a bolt of lightning directly into the demon's chest. The demon looked more angry than hurt. Zollex quickly shot the last two charges from the wand at the demon. It was still coming at him. The half-elf drew his sword, but the demon was just as fast. When Zollex stabbed the demon in the abdomen, it swatted the half-elf into the air. Zollex hit the ground with a dull thud. When he moved his left arm to lift himself up, he winced in pain. "Just what I need. A lame arm in a battle." The half-elf used his right arm to lift himself off the ground, and walked over to the demon's corpse to retieve his longsword. The blade was protruding form the demon's back. Zollex mumbled an incantation and improvised his hand motions to make them suitable for his single hand. The demon rose a few feet above the gound, and Zollex pulled his sword from the demon's body. He sheathed the blade and walked back towards Aravilar's tower. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* A half-elf stepped through a portal. He took a moment to let his eyes adjust to see in the dim light in the room. "Okay. It looks clear," he yelled through the portal. Several beings stepped through the waterly suface of the portal. Among them were a male half-orc, a female elf, a female human, and many others. They cautiously walked through a few corridors and up a set of stairs. The group came to a door. The half-elf opened it, and a gold elven gaurd turned around to see him. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" he asked. "I am Kistil, a mage from the Far East. I have come to assist your people against the invasion," the half-elf replied. "We do not need help from a half-blood! And from any of you, for that matter! You have cursed our soil with your foul feet!" the guard yelled. The half-orc stepped up. "Would you be interested in me cursing your puny body with my 'foul' hands?" he asked. The guard took off at full flight. "Help! Help! There are intruders in the palace!" Kistil stood by the half-orc and shook his head. "That didn't go to well, did it, Gershc? Now, where could Zollex be?" Oh Zollex, we're here.... Good. Where are you? The palace. Okay. I'm sending Aicanįr. Follow him to Aravilar's tower. I'll meet you there. Got it. I'll see you there. "Zollex is sending Aicanįr. He'll lead us to where we need to meet him," Kistil said. The group jogged to an exit of the palace. Gershc spotted the miniature dragon flying towards them. The group ran after Aicanįr at full speed. |

Couldn't they cut this out? Good effects, but the time's just wearing on me "Hello Quarius. Like the place? Decidedly light-sidedly. Does the almighty Archmage have any clue where we are?" Probably the 9th layer of hell.. "Anyway, I think we should try and find out where the hell..see, it was hell.. we are." Delwyn turned and started wading through the light in a random direction, seeing if the light actually ended, or weather they were in some other multi-dimensional plane. Again... |

You are right we are at the allienced place of the dark Fire, It is the only place ever where Light and darkness border eachother, without shadows between them, my shadowpowers are useless here, I am nothing more then a simple Archmage." |

A ripple through matter.....and you see a corruscation of invisible forces. The silver starfire shines |

The original will post in traditional black while the alternate unverse version will post in red. Try to keep up with what I'm doing, but don't be afraid to ask me to clarify. Quite literally, what is happeneing is that the Drow Foundation is invading Evermeet here. The ground skaes with violent tremors. A large blackish purple portal rises from the earth about 30 feet in diameter. The surface ripples like a still lake that has been disturbed by a stone. Slowly at first, as if held back by the portal's surface, the Drow soldiers spill out onto the soil of Evermeet. The begin killing everything in sight, be it Elf, demon, or any non-Drow. In their wake, more flow from the portal, until a large platform carried by hulking beasts with thick scaly hides, claws for hands, and pincers at their mouths makes its way through the portal. Upon the platform are many female Drow, some even lounging in chairs. At the front of the platform is a lone Drowish male, his cape flapping in the wind. He directs to movements of the Drow army with a ferocity of a tyrant. Already the path before him is covered in blood. His smile revealed both his wicked nature, and his long fangs. Anglar continues moving towards to where he believes the demons are originating from. He barely notices the cuts along his arms, back, and chest. The lightning continues to crackle around his body and at each cut, black rivlets seep out and leave behind healed tissue. As many demons are giving him way as try to stop him now. His pace is barely slowed by their presence. What does bring a moments pause to his steps is a sudden and strange feeling that his senses are two fold now. His psyche feels as if it is tearing itself apart. He forces his concentration on his task at hand. He has finally made it to where the demon's spout is iwithin his sight, along with another portal. A slight feeling of terror comes across him as he recognizes the departers as Drow. Pure confusion comes over him as the caped Drow turns and locks stares with him. Anglar feels as if he is looking into a mirror, not onlt of his body, but of his soul. |

| Silmarien Aldalome04-12-04, 09:23 PM | OoC: Anglar - g'day - tried PMing you about Metaboards. The foundations are about to be moved to their own forum (a Game world - self-governed by the posters). Looks cool - hope you've been well. ....Sil is now half in Realmspace - the material world - and half in Unspace - the metadimensional world beyond time and space. She senses a ripple through Unspace - and the presence of yet another conflictual force on Evermeet. Ahead - now 100 metres away, the Mythallar surges under the pounding pressure of many invisible forces. And the Mythal's Heart - the Heart of Elvendom - a corruscation of immeasurably powerful forces. From Unspace - Sil senses some wierd and indecipherable interaction occurring between Mythal and Mythallar. She feels the strain of the Evermeet Mages - who look exhausted from struggle. The Weave is erratic now that Mystra is somewhere Unknown. In Realmspace - explosions of Raw Magic continue to puntuate the Realmspace everwhere - as both Weave and Shadow Weave convulse. But - before Silmarien, Castor Troy (now immolated in Silver Starfire, Frostbite - stands a Legion of Drow - barring the way to the Heart of Elvendom - their wicked weapons of the Underdark glint in the light...... ..Beloved - what transpires above - we are assailed by Drow below.... These spells were not aimed at Evermeets finnest however at there walls...creating more ways for the enemy to sneak in. The Black and Red Robed cast a fly spell and errected windwalls to protect to himself from the troop. Then the real destruction began. He was a very strong caster yet why waste all his enegy on greater spells? He went old school fire and lightning. Of course he couldent help a few chain lightnings here and there. He glanced around at the undead...the dead...and the elves. An evil thought came to mind...why not raise shadows? Cheap, easily and effective with a passion to kill the living. His allies wouldetn die and he was protected with a few bag of tricks. The Drow Cast his hands out crumbling up what would appear to be very expensive black jewlary and sprinkled it over the battlefield. Soon an army of darkness would under his command. -Frosty |
| Zollex04-13-04, 06:56 PM | Aicanįr alighted on the branch of a tree in front of Aravilar's tower. The group from the portal stood underneath him. "What's taking him so long?" asked Kistil. "I really don't like standing here, doing nothing." "Be patient," the female elven cleric behind him said. "He will come." They stood in silence for several more minutes, until a beat-up looking half-elf rounded a corner, and walked up to them. "Zollex!" Kistil yelled. "What happened to your arm?" the cleric asked in concern. "It was one of those accursed demons. I'm near out of spells, and most of my wands are spent. Did you bring my gear?" Zollex said. "We did, but you're in no condition to use it! This arm is broken," the cleric said, inspecting the half-elf's arm. "Great. Aril, can you fix it?" "Not without you being out of combat for at least a couple of days. The best I can do now is put a sling on it," replied the cleric. "I'll have to cast one-handed, then. Can I have my equipment now?" Zollex questioned impatiently. Kistil handed him scroll case, a potion belt, and a pouch with several wands in it. Zollex put the things on, much to the annoyance of Aril, who was trying to put a sling on his arm. |
| Tenzhi04-13-04, 08:31 PM | Somewhere in a remote prison plane: He struggles angrily against His bonds. A lesser wyrm might be driven mad by the inexorable confinement*, but not He - He has infinite patience and a might to rival the gods. He strains against the gossamer threads of the cocoon that has held Him for time indeterminate, and is finally rewarded as several of them snap presenting Him with the ability to see where He is. And as His sight stretches out over infinity, much is revealed to Him about what has passed in His absence. The knowledge causes Him to struggle with yet more fervor against the silken strands that bind Him. Some might mistake His drive as valiant, His cause as noble - but His goals are not so lofty, His thirst only for vengeance against the demon :censored::censored::censored::censored: :censored: that snared him so. OOC: * This line is completely the fault of Frosty. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder04-14-04, 02:24 AM | The green wonder approached his soldiers, dropping the elven body he had carried back from the front. He looks over them and then at the elves around him. "So, it seems the battle has changed yet again. We have two forces to fight against. You're dark brothers and the demon hordes. Well, get off yer lazy elf :censored: and fight for your brothers! FIGHT FOR YOUR PEOPLE!" He looks over the half orcs and orcs. "Brothers, we will show these elves how to fight, we shall slay these beasts! SLAY THEM! SEND THEM BACK TO HELL WHERE THEY BELONG!" Orcy turns and runs back toward the battle, his troops following him. He casts a spell as he runs charging straight into the demons. He swings into the creatures, his soldiers following and engaging the demons in battle. Demons fall all over the battlefield, Half Orcs and Orcs dying in battle as well. They push back toward the Drow killing any they come across along with the demons. The green wonder pushes his way though the demons and drow, killing any he comes across. He growls at the platform of drow females as he covers the feilds in blood and bodies. |
| anglar04-15-04, 06:52 PM | The battle platform moves further out onto the field. Anglar spots his alter-self slashing his way to the demon's portal. He chuchles to himself as he thinks "I hope he doesn't tire himself too much. I would hate to best him simply because he was too weary. Where's that wench of his? I'm surprised she's not surgically attached to his hip." As the Drow wizards weaken the Mythal of Evermeet even further, Anglar directs his soldiers of the combined houses to establish strong perimeters so that enemt forces are funneled away. This is one battle he was going to win, one way or another. Even in the night's darkness, the sky showed bright from the fires and bolts of lightning flying about. Thousands now lay dead, but Anglar and Matron Mother showed no concern. This was the devastation and chaos that Most High Lloth delighted in with decadence. Suddenly, a demon appeared between the main defenses and the battle platform. It rushed directly for Matron Mother, and Anglar stood motionless until it was no more than three steps from her. Moving faster than even Elven eyes could follow, Anglar was suddenly a barrier that the demon had impaled itself upon. Demon blood showered the surrounding area as nothing more than a fist sized chunks of the demon remained. "Yes," he though to himself, "she will not survive this. She will not be whole." OOC - If you'll allow Tenzhi and I'm correct, I'd like to RP Lloth for a little bit. A laugh both distant and quite near fills the Abyss. "So, Elf-Bane, you think yourself so great? Se how easily you fell into my web. I shall enjoy watching you struggle. I shall enjoy it even more as I drink your very soul." A pair of red eyes appear before you and wink just before fading back into a mist. |
| Silmarien Aldalome04-15-04, 08:17 PM | OoC: Ava said the 17th I seem to recall. I'll develop a few ideas for his return. Great posts guyz. I'd love to see some more "between-poster" interactions. On the surface of Evermeet - at the Gates - several of the Pereldar watch the confluence of forces between the Drow, Elves and Demons. Seeing Matron Mother - they are stirred to fury - they have a target - for Matron Mother is well-known to the Pereldar through Anglar. And she has a reputation for vulgarity and cruelty. The Pereldar want her dead. The Chief Loremaster of the Enjoined Ones - Ithilorien OoC: (my apologies if he ever reads this - he's a member of the Foundation) ...calls to Silmarien. ..I can see Matron Mother - what do you want us to do? ....STRIKE HER DOWN - create a three-fold Metaconcert - with Three Loremasters at the Head. But first - bring their weapon's master a message Ithilorien and the Enjoined Half-Elves extend their Verse - and a sheet of Cerulean envelops the Half-Elven Verse-Masters. They Materialise - in front of Matron Mother and the Weapons Master. Ithilorien's voice is transformed into PluriPotency - he glowers at the Drow and in eerie pluripotency says: Who amongst you deserves to be spared from death. Your presence at Evermeet is an insult to every Elf in Realmspace. And *you*" he cries staring at the Weapons Master "...have nothing but arrogance as your defence. You will feel our Verse - as it purifies the earth and scorches you to ruins - 'ere this day is ended. |
| Tenzhi04-15-04, 09:18 PM | The Elf-Bane's struggles had cut him open, his blood flowing freely. The scent of his divine essence brought the Queen from the shadows to gloat. "So, Elf-Bane, you think yourself so great? See how easily you fell into my web. I shall enjoy watching you struggle. I shall enjoy it even more as I drink your very soul." As her glowing orbs receded into the darkness the Elf-Bane smirked. The Queen knew it was just a matter of time before he was free, but she was certain he wouldn't be able to interfere with her plans. As usual, her over-confidence in her own machinations would be her downfall. The Elf-Bane continued to struggle against his bonds, his blood seeping into the darkness... Meanwhile... In the Heart of Elvendom, where heroes are grossly outnumbered, from the shadows comes a strange sound almost like the yapping of dogs. Moments later a small army of strange kobolds emerges liquidly from the shadow, their scaled hides glistening like blood, their eyes aglow with a silver light. With a series of unnerving yelps they charge the Drow legions en masse. |

The half-breeds think to threaten me and try to kill you. Whatever will we do?" He takes out a rolled paper filled with minced weed and strikes a tindertwig on his belt buckle. He sucks down a long drag before steeling his face. "Peace? Peace? How I hate the word, and the Seldarine, and High Elves, and thee. I have embraced all that is Drow about me. I am immune to you silly little spells for they cannot get past the very Magic Resistance that flows in my Blood. It is Evermeet that is the insult. You ran here when the humans encroached upon your forests instead of slaughtering the vermin. You claim to be the very perfection of Elven existance when you know full and well the we Drow did that thousands of years ago. You r pain will be our pleasure." Anglar hesitates for a moment as his wife's words come into his mind. He returns "They are on the surface as well. And I, though not me exactly, am leading them. I can't explain it. It's as if Matron Mother has cloned me or something." Still he makes his way to the demon's spout. Being only about 15 feet wide, Anglar quickly takes a wand from his belt and tosses it into the air above the mouth to Hell. With a deft motion, he draws his sword and sunders the wands just as it passes into the portal. The blast is terriffic. Anglar and many demons are sent flying up to 50 feet in the explosion. Anglar quickly regins his feet. He laughs to himself "That's how you close one of those without getting trapped in the Hells themself." |
| Bait the Bard04-16-04, 03:31 AM | (Umm, what the hell is going on? Is ther anything down where me and sculy are? is that where the drow, etc are? im horribly confused  - the confused bard |
| Tenzhi04-16-04, 03:49 AM | OOC: You're not the only one who's confused, BtB. I was under the impression that Gellion ate/was eating all the FR gods, but then Lolth gloated at me. As near as I can tell there are two battle-fronts: the one in the actual city where the orcs and most of the elves are fighting demons; and then the battle that seems to be happening in a pocket reality that may or may not be occupying the same space as the actual city where Sil and Castor Troy are facing a Drow legion. I thought that you and sculy were in the mage-tower-thingy that houses the Mythal or whatever, but I'm just not sure what's going on anymore. Everything has become jarringly surreal. |
| Orcy The Green Wonder04-16-04, 03:58 AM | The Green Wonder falls back a ways, gathering soldiers to him as he goes. They take up positions infront of him and begin forming a wall with tower shields. Orcy sheathes his sword and begins casting a spell, the clouds grow black and begin thundering, the sound deafening many soldiers below. Half elven, Drow, and Orc alike fall victim to the thundering sound. Lightning crackles throughout the black clouds. OOC: this is gonna require a DC 30 fortitude save to prevent being deafened for 12 minutes. Orcy figures he'll tell you all since its effecting everyone within a 360ft radius... so yeah that should reach pretty much everyone... and its not centered on Orcy, its made to take in as many enemies as possible... which again should be all. Would need a DM to decide how big the feild is Orcy supposes. |
| Bait the Bard04-16-04, 04:01 AM | Well when the light thingy came along, me and Sculy stepped into it, and were then transported to (I think) an alternate reality which housed the Mythral, or some such. I was under the impression that this is/was/will be the place where the drow are invadeing, the gods trying to kill each other, etc. If I have this all wrong, I warn you that I will post a lengthy and very confusing post, shifting all over the place and doing horrible things. Just to annoy you - the annoying and confused bard |
| anglar04-21-04, 02:25 AM | Anglar turns towards Matron Mother. She lies back in her plush chair gazing gleefully at the scene before her. "Shall we unveil our true intentions here, Matron Mother?" with the nod of her head Anglar blows a long note on from a Rothe horn. Suddenly, the soldiers of Opele Va' Esse' turn on the other Drow warriors and begin cutting them down as they make their way back to the portal. Anglar turns towrds two Drow on the battle platform. "Bring her to me." They scamper back through the portal and retuwn a few moments later with Silimna in tow. Anglar holds her out with one hand and locks gazes with his counter self. He then snaps her back close to him and he knows that the other Anglar can see him as he sinks his teeth into Silimna's flesh. Again he drives himself deep into Silimna's psyche, feasting on the sight of watching SIlmarien die by the black assassin's blade. He drops her limp body to the floor and laughs as they back out of Evermeet, back into the Underdark. With an outstretched hand, he beckons Anglar to follow. Anglar watches in disbelief as this other him feeds on Silmina. After he drops her to the floor of the floating platform, he can see that she is still breathing on her own. This gives him some cause for hope for Silimna's sake. [mental mode: Silmarien] "Dearest, Silimna is in grave danger in the Underdark. I give chase to rescue her. Hurry with your task. I feel I shall need you." [/mental mode] |
| Silmarien Aldalome04-21-04, 02:39 AM | Sil's heart skips a beat at the thought of her cousin falling prey to a Vampire. She gasps when she receives the vision of two Anglars. And - her fury at Anglar-V is kindled for his wrongs against another. For - the symbol of the Vampire - is of loveless lifelessness - and if Courage has a name - then it is found in the battlefields where Undeath is to be transformed by Holy Light. She looks in front of her - a Legion of Drow - she looks beside her and she sees the dimpled chin of Castor Troy. She becomes nauseous - under the pressure of the competing forces before her: Mythal's dysfunctional surges in interaction with Mythallar - and the Mages' of Evermeet - whose Abjurations protect the region from an annihilating explosion. Then - she sees the Mythallar - a disgusting power source for the Mythal - and a kind of vampire itself - that exists on the lifeforce of spent mages. Some sickening force of corruption within Evermeet that conceived such a device. ....Can you hold for but several heart beat longer Anglar - I can see the Mythallar and the Mythal She turns to Castor Troy: Chosen of Mystra - I have no choice but to trust you. Will you work with me to Seal this Ruination - and spare Evermeet from Ruin. For - if you would work with me - mayhap thine Silverfire and mine Half-Elven Lore will correct the ruinous pulsation of Mythallar and Mythal. Do you see the surging?" she points to the artifacts - as the Mythallar's Arcane-Red pulsations fill the chambers - and the humming Mages of Evermeet stand in focus around the Mythallar. "Do you see the sickness in the Mythal of Evermeet - see how the corrupt energy of the Mythallar fuels corruption in the Mythal.... |
| Castor Troy04-21-04, 03:17 AM | "Get thee gone Lady and take the others with you. What I must do here is something that mortals can't walk away from. I scarce believe I will either. Sing your hymn for ourselves and all the Elves of Evermeet. Make it a good one." After Silmarien has cast her Half-Elven Lore spell, Castor stands inches from the mythallar as he slowly brings his Silver fire to bear. The flames encircle his entire body and even his eyes burn with the pure arcane energy of magic. Hesistantly, Castor places his hands on the mythallar where it is cracked. The sphere sucks the energy and very lifeforce from him. Slowly the world turns to shadow. Castor finds himself standing in nowhere. He can feel an evil presence all around him. "Silly little mage," a voice from the shadows purrs. "Did you really think I would let you get away that easily? You have something that belongs to me, and I WANT IT BACK! Why don't you take that mask off? I'd like to get a better look at you. I want to see the fear in your face." Castor straightens himself. "It is you who is mistaken, Shar. I knew you wouldn't let me perish. Not with me having so many wards around your precious Karsestone. You don't really know who I am though, do you?" "Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm a man of wealth and taste I haven't been around for that many a year, But I've sealed many a fiend's fate. I wasn't around when Elminster had his moment of doubt and pain. But I went back and made sure Karsus cast his spell and sealed his fate. Pleased to meet you. Let me tell you my name." Castor takes his hand to his mask and slips it from his face. The shadows begins to move around hive and caress his body. "You see, even here, I can't escape what it means to have gods for parents. Before I leave here, I'll have your shadow weave Cause I'm Castor Troy!" |
| Silmarien Aldalome04-21-04, 04:46 AM | Sing your hymn for ourselves and all the Elves of Evermeet. Make it a good one.....What I must do here is something that mortals can't walk away from. I scarce believe I will either. Under the crippling weight of so many enemies - she cannot focus. The Drow Loremasters see her hesitation and their faces gleam with joy at her suffering. They hoot and cheer - clapping metal swords together. "Look what we've got for you." they tease and jeer - as hostile eyes close in on her - surrounding her with leering cruel smiles. Their Chief Loremaster - Zirgal - Stands before them - and his hatred of all Elves and of Silmarien is like a palpable blow. "You say you're a woman." he spits "But - what you are Sil - is a coward - whose heroic vanity will serve Shar as it has always- like Karsus and all the fools before you." His voice rings throughout the underground labyrinth "Thus, you've given us what we most want." He strikes his Staff Heel on the floor and he Incants as black vitriolic Dweomer erupts - it surges outwards - a veil of vomit and refuse - laden with the stench: I see in you that hatred calls The seed of ruin and sundered home A Broken Staff and Darkness Might That echoes in the Call of Night An invisible force strikes her in the centre of her Essence. And she sees Shar's face beckoning. come my pretty - walk with us all here in the Darkness.....SLAY Castor Troy and all will by yours She falls to her knees.....and bows her head in shame. Suddenly, Sil's eyes fill with ravenous greed - an insatiable hunger. She smiles with a wicked grin. She looks at The Chosen - and Shar's Temptation feeds right into Sil's hatred of Castor. Shar says ....so easy to lead you astray..... Sil raises the Runestaff - and as the Staff is at its zenith - an image returns to her - of sitting eating corn with Anglar Goldstems - many days ago - as the Armies of Darkness amassed - Anglar's kindness reached out to her and he sought solace with her company. As the ruinous forces of Shar's Shadow Weave and pounding forces of Evermeet's failing mythal vibrate in Unspace - she raises her eyes - and there stands the Chosen of Mystra - and also within the Mind's Eye - Anglar's renewed call to her. In a wan and failing voice - she Sings in the Darkness: When all is gone and nothing more And none recall the shining halls of Starlight forms and Mountains Tall There is but this to find your home "By Rh'iel" she says - then her vocal chords strengthen - as she summons together the shattered aspects of her Half-Elven identity - and they coalesce into congruency - "For THE HALF-ELVES!" She calls - to The Loremasters on the Surface - enjoined. The three-fold metaconcert - When you have lost your Way back Home Remember that you're Not Alone About you all is Wonder's Call and Light to Fill the Endless Void When Hope should Fail and Chasm Call And clouds to shroud the Elven Heart That burn with spite and cruel delight Remember all - there's more to Life The Flower bright on Hilltop's brow The Snow of Spring and Melting Thaw The Voice of Gulls in airs of Heights With Holy Life of Hallowed Light Forgiveness finds no cause for strife And Leaves us with the Riddle Right To Let it Go and Shed the Might So that our Grace can put it right The Runestaff explodes into a corruscation of Azure and Starlight. Zirgal recoils collapsing in a heap - as his staff explodes into a thousand fragments. The Drow stop their ears in horror. But - Castor Troy's words ring out again "Get Thee Gone Lady and the Others With You" - as Castor runs towards the Mythallar. She focuses the Azure Starlight - there is a crackling of energy as the energy coalsces into coherency - three Loremasters channel through the metaconcert. She is enveloped in dweomer - and - winks out of existence and appears before the Anglars - Good Luck Castor Troy...... echoes - my love to thee. Sil stands next to Anglar "You called Beloved" she says "...um - I think Castor's in trouble - and says we need to get away...." |
| anglar04-21-04, 06:04 PM | When Silmarien appears at Anglar's side, he is comforted. After hearing the news of Castor, he says, "Castor is always in trouble. Something tells me that we'll hear from him again. . . . Something tells me though that we have greater fears in the here and now. You see, I'm leading the Drow soldiers, but it's another me, and this one's a vampire. But Silimna deserves better than that fate. We can open a portal and track them down. Hopefully we can save her soon." Anglar begins casting the spell to open a passage to the Underdark. When he finishes, "Shall we, my Love?" |

Hopefully we can save her soon." Anglar begins casting the spell to open a passage to the Underdark. When he finishes, "Shall we, my Love?" The folds of her robes fly in the breeze and her silver-blone hair blows about her shoulders. She smells the airs - they reek of disorder and illness - and of corruption. When she first arrived at Evermeet - she recalls the chiming of bells and the sub-vocal wrong that sat down in the pit of her belly. Casting her memory over the last days - she also recalls the arrogant haughtiness of the Golds - and how none of them embraced their presence here at Evermeet - despite the great personal risks that Sil, Ang and several others took to aid the struggling city. And the Queen - whose grand courts and Elven Palace, when the Allies were summoned. By need and necessity - did the Queen suspend the Mythal to suffer their presence. But amidst all this - Aravilar Holistacia was both humble and regal in his welcoming. He went to great lengths to secure comfort and belonging for his friends here at Evermeet. At great personal risk - he challenged the Dogma of Golden Elvendom and opened doors for the assistance of the outside world to come to evermeet. This gesture was humbling and uplifting. She looks around Evermeet - and sees the graceful white spires fo the city reaching upwards - their elegance casting up even into the clouds and beyond - as the Mythal's Light graces all the lands about. But the city is in great fear. It's denizens have not known this kind of threat since the birth of the Isle. Even though the Drow have turned on each other - there are forces at play at Evermeet that cannot be seen - that threaten the foundation of this place. For - corruption is something that leaks in through the seams of darkness, and even thought the Seldarine Pantheon is Imprisoned or Gone - Shar still holds some sway here. Perhaps Castor steps into the power vacuum created by Gellion - perhaps he aims to Divine Ascention - perhaps he is a Deity in Flesh - now returning to Divinity - to steel the Karstone from Shar. What she does know is that friendship and love are the most sacred of forces in the Multiverse. And on this she is content. She tunes into Unspace - and does not yet know how Castor's Intervention has gone. The Mythal and Mythallar have changed in Tenor - but while the disgusting corruption of the Vampire Mythallar exist - Evermeet is a tainted place. She takes her husband's hand - and smiles at him - amidst the battle - she takes the time to reaffirm why she chose to marry this man. She studies the amassed armies - and the violence of clashing sword. I have done all I can for now She says to herself. She strikes the Runestaff on the Ground - one last time - and propels a message through Unspace to all her Friends cryptically - it is a message for them to decipher in their own time and as they find wisdom and forgiveness in their hearts. Remember - when thou art Free to Bestow - and to know Grace in all things - to pray for your Enemies - thence you will find abundance and love in all things. Your Journey is a sacred thing. To nourish it with the right things is the challenge. There is no shortcut to the getting of wisdom - it is something that is not bestowed and something that comes with time. But - if you ask the right questions and remember that really, no one knows anything at all that is absolutely correct - you're on the right path. Do not make the mistake of thinking in terms of punishment, petulance and hostility. These things will ruin your happiness. Therefore - I have done all I can here. I must save my cousin from a Fate worse than death. You will Prevail - if you Keep Faith. My Love to you All |

Instantly the impersonator is transported into a dark room. Instinctivly he casts "darkvision" then a dispell magic. This was no ordinary darkness. The mage regaining his senses put his hands up. He was no fool, magic was no more use here. Although he could not see eyes could he feel himself being looked down apon whilest he heard the words "You have failed to deliver. You spent too much time with your stupid attempts to absorb your "allies" and even longer killing gold elves. You are weak and thus we have no more use for you" With but a single cry of protest a familar yet oddly shaped black hand gracefully snaped his neck. He had used every last ounce of willpower, strength and magic he had to try and break his bindes and escape. But now he looked more like a caged dog or bat than a true werewolf or bloodsucking vampire. A paladin without his sword, a bard without his mandolin and a ranger without his woods. He sat there beaten by not his enemies, by beaten by himself. ooc: I too have no idea what is going on, where my real character is or why Ten. said what he said about me! | Zollex05-26-04, 11:43 PM | OOC: It seems we've come to a standstill. Everyone, post where you think your characters are and where you think any characters that are interacting with them are. If you don't think your character is where someone says they are, PM that person. Let's try to get things rolling again. Zollex is returning to the battlefield from Aravilar's tower. IC: Zollex leaned against a wall for support for a second, then he pulled a potion from his belt and drank it. He stood on his own strength and threw the vial away. His friends were all approaching the battlefield from different directions, hoping that would allow them a little more stealth. When the half-elf had gotten close enough to hear the sounds of combat, when thunderclaps began sounding. He reached towards his ears to try to defend them from the sound, but he was too slow. His ears rang. "Curse it!" he yelled, but he heard no sound. Zollex drew a wand from his pouch and marched towards the enemy soldiers. After hitting several enemies with the ice bursts from his wand, the half-elf spotted Orcy. "Orcy!" he called, wondering if the half-orc had been hindered by the thunder, too. |
| anglar05-27-04, 01:25 AM | Anglar, Silmarien, Frosty, and one aspect of Tenzhi are in the Underdark battling the Drow force. Castor Troy had repaired the mythallar, but was lost afterwards. I can't speak for anyone else |
| Tenzhi05-27-04, 01:29 AM | E'li perished in the fight with the demons despite the timely aid of Orcy the Green Wonder. As I recall, Orcy covered the elvish retreat into the centre of the city and was following behind them. |
