People flooded into the open, cavernous concert hall of the Theater of Radiance, eager for the rich sounds and ingenious words of Sigil's finer arts. As the last onlookers made their way in, another person came into the theater. He was not garbed in the flamboyant, colorful clothing that marked him as a noble (Who had nothing better to do than look good), nor the many perfumes and otherworldly trinkets that marked him as a Sensate. The man had pale skin and red hair, which clashed with the plain black robes he was wearing. Leaning against the wall next to the door, watching the last people scamper into the theater. But, arms folded, he had turned his view another way, to the group of people (Probably) approaching. He smiled.

Ah, I see I have takers.

A black clad ranger was among those coming in. He held his bow in one hand and an arrow in the other, in case something came up. He pulled back his hood with the arrow, revealing slightly pointed ears. He was a half-elf.

"It seems you do. Jeth Kiirnodel, sniper unmatched for hire. I trust this job pays well."

A gruff looking dwarf was also amongst the group of willing adventurers, shoving through the group of tall-people and approaching the plainly robed figure. He wore black-dyed leather armor and wore a spiked buckler attacked to his left arm, a worn, notched battleaxe strapped to his back. Tucked under his right arm was a helmet with a single curved horn coming from the center, just above the eye slits.

"Cyric Skullcleaver's me name," the dwarf proudly stated, puffing out his broad chest and pounding a salute on it with his fist, "Pest control's me game. If I get t' slay at least ten orcs, th' goblins're free o' charge!"

Orcs and goblins? The man chuckles in a flighty, rich tone. You, my dear Cyric, will be facing perils faarrr more interesting than a mere green-skinned thug. Oh, terribly sorry, but I've not even introduced myself. I am Eurins'kavere. Eurins'kavere slowly reaches into the sole pocket of his robe, into a blackness even darker than the void-color of his robe. From it, a large sword appears in his hands. The blade is a platinum color, with ebony symbols scrawled all over it. At the pommel, grey chains spill out, each one conncted to a pitch-black circle. Eurins'kavere swings the large sword onto his shoulders. He looks at Jeth and Cyric, and nods.

*A tall human wearing monks clothes walks in*

"Orcslayer is my name, I will kill anything you need killed, I will find any thing that needs found. Whatever the quest it shall complete it."

"Nice weapon you've got there." A voice said from behind Eurins. A tanned elf stood there, wearing a chainshirt and blue robes, there were no weapons to be seen on him. "I am Arinth Shadowborn, mercenary and traveler."

That is all of you? I expected that idiot's charm to be far more attrctive. Ah well. Any more preparations? I'd like to go as quickly as possible......Nothing? Good.
Darshendros

07-02-05, 04:23 AM
"Seems this be all we gettin'. It's just as well. Leaves more baddies fer me t' chop with me axe, ha!" Cyric laughed again, then put his helmet on and adjusted his beard.

He looked up at the one called Orcslayer. "Orcslayer, eh? How many orcs have ye killed in yer lifetime, boy?"
Arshes

07-02-05, 11:16 AM
"He's a human, so it's not going to be very many." Adrinth said, leaning against the wall.

"Truer words I haven't heard," Strect said with a subtle nod to Adrinth. "Now Orcslayer, can ye tell me something. Is yer name self proclaimed or did someone bestow the title upon you."

The Dwarf's full-plate armor creaked and groaned as he made his way to the front of the group. His bastard sword strapped to his back and held in place with a huge shield only a foot shorter than the gruff dwarf.

So turning to the man that summoned him, "what is it exactly that ye called us here fer," His thick Dwarven accent rolling from his mouth. "And more importantly, as the fairy stated (looks at Jeth), how good is the pay?
Jeth Kiirnodel

07-02-05, 03:04 PM
Jeth offhandly lets his bow lean toward the offending dwarf.

"Even though I'm sure a fairy could toss you around like an ogre throwing goblins, I can tell you meant it as an insult. I suggest you avoid offending me again."

So saying, he lets his bow slide back to rest.

Cyric burst out laughing at the suddenly hostile air that was growing within the group, at least between the other dwarf and the ranger. "Seems th' elf ain't one fer humor, and I thought they were a gay lot."

((...as in happy, not the modern term.))

I'm a mercenary frawf. Happy is not an emotion I can afford. Adrinth said. And as for insults, I've always thought rangers to be cowards who would rather rely on tricks and long ranged attacks to an honorable fight face to face.

You can all shut up right about now. Sort your pitiful troubles out later. And to repeat the job, we are scouting out and claiming land on Hollow's Heart, the 176th layer of the Abyss. You will be paid with whatever you find, and whatever sections of land you want. Better payment can be discussed with Liorxi-what'shisface. Portals will be supplied, but we must get them ourselves. We shall be deaprting this ratty theater now.
Taeldrin Laesrash

07-06-05, 12:37 PM
Eurins'kavere starts walking out of the theater, jerking his head as a demand to follow him. Slowly, he walks along a small road, turning to a dark alley. He makes a harsh gesture to tell the rest of the group to stay put, and he slides into the darkness of the alley.
Dandrie Swift

07-06-05, 06:03 PM
Hmmmm, I can't speak for the rest of ya. But I'm not fer liking this uh...benefactor. Too mysterious, ye know? But what are we going to do, but do what we're payed for. I know one thing for sure though, If this turns bad and I'm killed. I'm coming back to haunt him."

Peering into the darkness, Strect squinted into the alley. "I don't how he did it, I can't see him, and this darkness is nothing compared to the black of unlit mining tunnels." Shaking his head with a frustrated growl, the dwarf unsheathed his bastard sword and sat down, deciding to follow the mysterious man's "advice".
Darshendros

07-07-05, 07:09 PM
"Methinks we should've asked fer some down payment 'fore startin' this. Ah'm not likin' all this sneakin' around," grumbled the dwarf, who had his battleaxe out now. He had decided he would stick close to Strect, who's probably the only one he really trusts out of the ragtag group, being a dwarf and all.
Arshes

07-07-05, 10:02 PM
Thats because dwarves are better off mining in thier tunnels then doing any stealth. Adrinth said, a blade of blue-white energy forming from his fist, illuminating the area somewhat.

I'm the only one doing the sneaking buisness around here.Eurins'kavere suddenly taps Cyric on the shoulder from behind. The pale man snickers. I have the transportation with me. It shouldn't have taken so long. I had a small...distraction. He absent-mindedly wipes his sword blade, staining a patch of his robes with a dark red tint. From his pocket he pulls out a scroll. As he reads from it, a tear in the air in front of everyone forms, showing a ship deck on a sea of green.

Go in.
Darshendros

07-09-05, 04:56 PM
The dwarf scowled at the elf for his comment, "Pray that some demon catches ye in the Abyss before me axe does, elf."

Cyric glanced over his shoulder, then nodded his head when the portal appeared, frowning at seeing the ship. He wasn't too much of a fan of sea travel, preferring to keep his boots on the ground. There better be a big reward after all this, he thought to himself, before plunging through the portal and arriving on the other side.
Arshes

07-09-05, 06:37 PM
Adrinth calmly walked through the portal, returning his mindblade to its original form.
Taeldrin Laesrash

07-10-05, 10:57 PM
Come on, get going. I will leave you and your miserable, worthless selves here, without any pay otherwise.
Jeth Kiirnodel

07-15-05, 02:12 PM
Jeth shrugs and steps in, keeping one foot in the door.

"You coming, oh wisened benefactor?"
Taeldrin Laesrash

07-15-05, 08:20 PM
Watch your tongue, elf. Eurins'kavere steps through, and onto the ship's deck. He looks back through the Gate, and beckons to those who haven't come in.
Dandrie Swift

07-17-05, 07:38 PM
Grumbles about how he hasn't done anything deserving as to go to hell and steps through.
Jeth Kiirnodel

07-18-05, 03:22 PM
Jeth steps completely throught the portal with a smirk, then tugs at his tongue when their employer's back is turned.

"Nothin ta thee thea."

Releasing his tongue, he looks over the ship.

"So, what's the plan of action for our journey?"
Taeldrin Laesrash

07-18-05, 03:36 PM
Very, very funny, Eurins'kavere mutters, I suppose I shouldn't tell you about the ship's accomadations, but seeing as you'll pester me later, I will. Down these stairs at the stern at to the left are three rooms of crew's quarters. Each shall be equipped with above average living conditions, as well as sanitation devices. The sixth door is my office, and shall be locked at all times. Message devices can alllow you to communicate with me. To the right is the mess hall, where meals are served thrice a day, at nine, three, and nine in the evining. The bow structure is ours arms closet, which is connected to the ship's engines belowdeck. Both are locked, except for emergencies. The rigging above is animated and can take care of itself. Communication devices, that is for intercontinental and extraplnar messages, are in my office. Any questions?
Arshes

07-19-05, 02:19 AM
Adrinth didn't speak a word, but just observed the area, looking for any dangers.
Darshendros

07-19-05, 03:42 AM
"Aye," Cyric answered, "Where's th' ale stored? If we're going t' be stuck on this boat for long, ah'd at least want t' be stuck with some fresh ale. Heh!"
Taeldrin Laesrash

07-19-05, 03:34 PM
Repeating myself, the rooms will be fully accomadated, alcohol and drinks with them included.
Arshes

07-20-05, 08:32 PM
There'd better be a bath on this boat. Last time I was on a ship we had to go for five months with no bath or toilet. Adrinth said, looking around.
Taeldrin Laesrash

07-20-05, 09:34 PM
Fully accomadated, once again.
Darshendros

07-21-05, 01:08 AM
Repeating myself, the rooms will be fully accomadated, alcohol and drinks with them included."Good 'nuff fer me!" Cyric said with a chuckle. He gave a nudge to the other dwarf, nodding toward the cabin. "I say we get our fill o' ale b'fore we arrive in th' Abyss. Moradin knows th' others here'll just waste it, or not drink at all. What say ye?"
Dandrie Swift

07-21-05, 09:33 PM
"Lead the way an' let's see how well you can hold your ale, one dwarf to another. And Ill tell you stories about my old clan, and past glories." That said his eyes lit up anticipating liquor, stories, and the odd drinking song or 20.
Darshendros

07-22-05, 07:51 AM
"Aye, ah'm always up fer a good story with my ale! Ye tell me 'bout yer clan, and ah'll tell ye about this one time..." Cyric led the way down into the sleeping cabins as he talked, the whole time telling the story of one time when he did this and that happened, and then this happened! The story was about over after the first keg was opened, and the first two mugs were full of ale, soon to be followed by many, many more.
Jeth Kiirnodel

07-25-05, 02:38 PM
Jeth looks over at their employer, then at the mob of soon-to-be drunken dwarves.

"I hope we're going to either go before they start or wait until they're sobber. I doubt they can 'measure up' to the demons local as is."
Taeldrin Laesrash

07-28-05, 11:11 PM
You act as though I pull the strings of Abyssal spawn. Go to your cabins, all of you. You shall be called for dinner in three hours.
