i heard about a feat after asking if there is 1. it acts as if u blocked just in time in a video game for the attacker to fly back a lil making him available for counter attack (a.k.a. blocking and parrying the attack sending the attacker on one foot kinda thing so he's available for counter attack u get what i mean?)

Can someone translate that into plain English?

I'm going to guess it's either Elusive Target, Karmic Strike, or Robiliar's Gambit, but I'm not sure...

My guess is that he wants a feat that penalizes your opponent for missing you with a melee attack. I'm not sure if he wants an attack off opportunity, for the opponent to lose an action or receive some status effect, or if he just wants the opponent to take penalties on future rolls.

Those are probably good guesses though, PhaedrusXY.

Not really. IIRC there is little "blocking" in D&D: if you're missed it might be an inaccurate attack, dodge, shield block, weapon parry etc. I do remember some feat that gave you a bonus if your opponent missed you, but would have hit you if you didn't have a shield... I don't remember the name or where it's from, though.

Robilar's Gambit does what you want, except you also get to make the counterattack in the same round.

actually what i meant is...here i'll give u an example.
a goblin attacks me and i roll to block with my katana and wakazashi and it is blocked and sent backward (kind of like parrying arrows except with melee attacks) and as he is sent back i attack him while he is sent backward (counterattack).

get it?

also i can't find Robilar's gambit anywhere in the feat index can u supply a link to where i can find out how it works?

I think there was a 3.0 Parry feat that required combat exp.

also there is this optional dnda rules page that has parry on it:

I think Robiliar's Gambit is in the PHB2. It does pretty much exactly what you want.
