Fire on the Sword-coast; Chit Chat OOC thread. [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-07-04, 02:56 AM For a little chit chat, some character explanation, questions and background info. Feel free to post, comment or ask.

As you might have seen by the main thread the Fire on the Sword-coast is set on the Sword Coast many of us know from Baldur's Gate.
The story takes place roughly a hundred year before the computer game and will tell the tale of a small group of 'soldiers' fighting for Amn in the war against the opressive empire of Volo.

This group will be deployed as some special forces, ala Sharpe's riflemen. And range trough the Sword-coast at first led by a aristocratic officer but quickly on their own. I will not play one of the main character but will make sure you are pushed the right way with a little help of Sergeant Hogan. :)

About the Sharpe's riflemen….. I have heard many good things of the books by that title.

Are you putting real rifles in the Fantasy Game? Or is just a neat name you wanted to add to the story for title sake?

Volo is just a name I liked best for the emperor and his empire as it sounds a bit evil and you can imagine by the name it is a greedy bastard.
So no, it ain't a BG2 character. (Which I did not play btw.)

And then Sharpe. The wonderfoul person from Cornwell's novels. This fantasy RPG will not be filled with rifles but just with the attitude and adventures of the rag tag band of this officer. The rifles in this war will be substituted by mages whom send their red glowing bullets of pain across the battlefield.

So what do you think, anyone interested it is a little quiet?

He is about 12 and his stats are pretty low,but he is the blacksmith for you!

Well off course. But we are talking about a group of experienced warriors whom will perform life-threatening (and more) jobs deep behind enemy lines.

Could you not make him a little older. (or is it because you are 12 years old yourself?):)

To be earnest I once encountered some 12 (or younger) year old writers on this board. Realy consistent. :D

nice you will join in will make some nice interaction. But we need to figure out something as the officer will not allow you but I (the Dm) will.

I am glad to say Turalisj, that my expertise in the Healing Arts as well as my School’s of Light and Magic alchemy lab.

Is at the service of two guilds as we speak.

That being the Guild of the Good and the Half Elvin Guild.

Um…about the Coucil of Archmage….

I am afraid that my (Respect for women) has earned me the resentment of a particular leader of that Guild. :confused: Dont ask why...
its a big drama about why I think women should be shown respect and playing nice.

As far as you’re Char posting now? I don’t see why not unless you and the DM worked out something for a particular time.

If you do post now just keep it with the youth of your Char.
Like he is in the temple looking for a hand out…
or ran in there to hide from a merchant that has seen one to many of his apples disappear, when you’re Char around.

But hay its up to you good luck

I explained the most of us were still going through basic posts of getting to know each other.

And had know idea we had been rushed from the temple to the meeting room at the palace.

But instead of the GM having to repeat himself about the meeting.
