| ruthia06-19-05, 09:21 AM | ((The IC rules are posted on page three of the OOC thread. Please read those before particapating. Thank you.)) "Testing Testing, mic check. Can you hear me? Good!" Star Bright adjust the mic in front of her, then with a nod starts the show. "Ladies and gentleman thank you for joining me for the first annual Map of the Planes awards. I am Star Bright, reporting from inside the auditoruim where the awards will take place. Out on the red Carpet we are joined today by special corispondance Ramoth and Malendor. Let's join them now as the famous and infamous characters begin to arrive. Ramoth, Malendor. Can you hear me?" The camara switches to an outside view. Visable is a red carpet running through a throng of reporters and character who are awaiting the arrival of their favorite stars. They scream and wave as they relize they are on T.V., the camara slowly swing to Ramoth and Malendor's postion on the carpet. Ramoth speaks into her hand held mic. "We hear you loud and clear Star Bright. And let me just say the excitement here today is so electrafying that I wouldn't be surprised if someone gets shocked." Ramoth was going to go on talking about the crowd when Malendor cuts in. "Sorry to cut you short but I think our first Super Star has arrived! Is it? Yes its..............!" ((And that's where you all come in. Play out the crowds reactions if you like, or the throngs of reporters trying to get your pictures! Walk down the carpet, eventually my chars will interview at least one of you characters before they all enter the Auditoruim.)) |
| Taeldrin Laesrash06-19-05, 10:42 AM | The doors open, but noone enters. A few minutes are spent in confusion. But suddenly, a massive roar, and an even bigger stream of fire erupt out of nowhere. Scorch marks mark the pathway that lead to the poduim. Out of the fire comes a regal procession: Silver dragons the size of large horses lead the way, carrying a planequin marked with rich blue fabrics and dotted with all sorts of sparkling gems. Riding the panequin is a small red dragon, dressed with a gold chain and a radiant purple cape, young Kito Liadon. Behind him is an even more impressive sight: A gold dragon is letting out blasts of fire. This fire, however, does not burn, instead, it explodes into colorful fireworks, flying around in shades of silver, gold, bronze, and copper. When they approach the building, Kito neatly flies down. With a flourish, the dragons and planequin vanish, they were naught but illusion. The illusions dissolve into golden dust, catching the rays of the sun as they fly upward into the sky. The rising pseudodragon star slowly advances along the carpet, holding a regal position. |
| Arcuna06-19-05, 07:28 PM | A tiny yellow spark appears at the base of the carpet. Soon, that spark elongates and widens to form a great pillar of light that seems to stretch up to the sky. Heimosu steps out, wearing a deep blue cloak and covered in a much brighter blue fire, with Jake (Charon to some) close behind. The pillar dissipates seconds after. Despite the fact that Heimosu is walking at a normal pace, his body seems to leave a blurry trail behind, like a series of afterimages following no further than a foot behind, and in his exact step. About a third of the way down the carpet, Heimosu stops and looks over his shoulder at the child, who nods his head. The fire on his body then quickly changes from blue to teal, and his body begins to enlarge. His cloak is absorbed by his body and is replaced by thick blue fur. Now he stands nine feet tall, and he puts his hands up to his newly formed snout, as if to shout a long distance. Indeed, he does let out a roar, and a black orb, swarming with blue and white electricity, forms a foot beyond his hands. Once it reaches a diameter of roughly five feet, he aims it at the sky, and launches it with deadly speed. The orb explodes fifty feet into the air, resulting in a beautiful burst of green light, and a light snowfall that lasts for a minute or so. The mutated Heimosu proceeds to walk inside, with Jake following happily behind. |
| Drindin06-19-05, 08:27 PM | A shadow crosses over the sun... Many remember what this meant the approach of. And indeed, there he was, arm in arm with his young niece, Krissy. Drindin walked in with her, and found a seat, silently. "I am disappointed my brother could not be here today, but all is still well. We are here, and that is what counts." |
| Lord Tarran06-19-05, 09:36 PM | Again a shadow passes over the sun. Looking up, the shape of a dragon is seen, slowly circling down to land at the end of the carpet. As he descends, his features become more clear, as does his crimson color. He lets out a gouge of flame as he lands solidly on the ground, revealing those riding upon his massive body. First to leap off is Drazar the Blue. His sapphire scales seem especially well polished, his black horn as well. Lightning crackles up and down his Bahamut symbool laden armor, as he lands hard on his feet. A visible shockwave passes from the half-dragon as he stands, turning to reach a large clawed hand to the next passenger. A glowing hand takes the claw. Connected to this glowing hand is a glowing arm, leading to a blindingly glowing body. As she steps down upon the carpet, however, the glow is gone, replaced with a woman not before seen among this massive company. Her eyes are green, her hair is red, as is her form fitting dress. She smiles with red lips, revealing perfect white teeth. A symbol of Torm lies around her neck, as those in company suddenly realize that this new female is none other than Rak-el. Next off Kherule's back is a similar glowing being to Rak-el. Soon however, this blinding light is replaced by a tall, blond haired, blue eyed paladin, his armor gleaming. Tatri-el smiles as he takes Rak-el's other hand, and the three wait for the others. Johnathon Sharson leaps from Kherule's back, turning in mid air to catch a small shape that had similarly lept. As he stands, his black hood falls away to reveal his black hair, his black eyes, and his mother's symbol in silver hanging from his neck. He smiles wanly, as he places a innocent appearing blue eyed blond child next to him. She smiles, her white skin seeming to glow, as the shadow of insanity passes over the back of her eyes she giggles, in a some how disturbing way, as the next passenger slides down Kherule's wing. Feringal, his normal spiked armor replaced by a simple black dress uniform, flips once as he comes off the end of Kherule's wing. He smiles truly, nothing devious for once not seen in his eyes. He glances back to see the others come down. As if planned, two shadows flicker on Kherule's back, and then again at his feet. Stepping from one is a boy, no older than 15, with white as paper skin. He smiles as he steps from the shadowy mist, revealing more than slightly elongated canines, his black eyes glittering. His clothes are black with no insignia, revealing to the unaware that he is Ryan Nightfiend, not Christopher. The second shadow is Darktooth. His black wings behind him, his black clothes upon him, the half shadow dragon looks upon the crowd of others and shrugs to the question in their eyes. They're both late. We'll have to save their seats inside. I think that Chris'll want to sit with Nezumi though. Kherule's massive body suddenly disappears as the familiar red armored blond man appears in his place. He grumbles. Yes I suppose so. I did tell Tarran to meet up as noon, correct? Everyone nods as they turn to enter the hall. |
| Khaira06-19-05, 09:54 PM | The shrill cry of some large bird of prey splits the air as, out of the jet black sky, a flying creature can be seen. In fact, as the creature gets closer, those watching this new spectacle can see that it is, in fact, a Roc, a giant bird of prey! Most shockingly of all is this rider; a Sun Elf stands atop the Roc as it begins its swift downward descent. In fact, as the Roc continues to descend, the Sun Elf atop the Roc spreads her arms wide and, simultaneously, great fireworks split the air. Red, green, blue, violet - the colors are seemingly endless! The resounding chords of a harp can be heard creating a melody that seems to have come from the gate of Celestia itself. As the Roc nears the ground, the mysterious Sun Elf leaps from its back, her gaily colored dress of red, blue, and green creating a scintillating, mesmerizing array of colors as she dances while seemingly floating to the ground. Red hair cascades from her back, wild and free and, as her feet touch upon the ground, she comes to a still bow to the cheering fans, the chords of the harp coming to a halt, and up above in the sky, the last of the fireworks cascade together into a great clash of multicolored lights. Members of the gathered crowd begin to yell in excitement and whisper among themselves. "Can it be...?" "Is...Is it really she...?" "Look, it's really her it's..." "Lady Khaira Amastacia, the Travelling Bardess!" Indeed, it truly was Khaira Amastacia, the Travelling, Harp Playing Bardess, come to join the Awards Ceremony that so many had been invited to. She had come with no lack of style, neither; she was wearing the clothes that she so commonly wore to all of her performances. It was styled after the Gypsy Dancers of Zakhara; the many colors often seemed to blend together as she danced and walked, and it seemed to add to the exotic flavor of the bardess. Walking up to the gates of this grand ceremony, Khaira opened her arms wide, greeting the many fans. "Thank you, thank you, my dear friends! No, I am sorry, I cannot do an encore now; but perhaps after the ceremony. Thank you, thank you!" With that Khaira walked down the red carpet that had been rolled out for those such as her... |
| Malendor...06-19-05, 10:06 PM | Poeple on all sides start snapping pictures and yelling questions! Crazed fans try to touch their hero's... "Excuse me Kito! May I have a word. How do you feel about getting nominated for the Best Newbie catergory?" "Drindin Over here! Just one more Picture!" "Krissy Krissy What do you think of this sudden fame?" "Drazar, Kherule, Darktooth can you tell us how it feels to be dragon in a mostly elvin/human society?" "Rak-el do you have a boyfriend?" "Tatri-el will you sign my shirt!" "look Look theres Feringal! Oh my God Johnathon Sharson is here!" ((insert insane scream girls here........)) "Ryan Nightfiend will you marry me!!!!!" Since the others rushed in so quickly, Malendor ambushes the next person to make and entrance, which happens to be Lady Khaira. "Excuse me Khaira? A moment of your time. Tell us what you feel will be the best part of tonights exciting show?" (( :P Told yah, need to add insane fans and reports for a true red carpet feel....)) |
| Lord Tarran06-19-05, 10:14 PM | Kherule grumbles as everyone sits down. Knew I should have remembered the invisibilty spells. However, Rak-el seems not at all put off, as she and Drazar dragged make their way back to the doors. She confronts the Paparazzi who asked her about her boyfriend. To answer the question, because I suppose eventually it will get out, Drazar and I are happily together. With that said, she drags Drazar and herself back to their seats without another word. |
| Khaira06-19-05, 11:19 PM | "Excuse me Khaira? A moment of your time. Tell us what you feel will be the best part of tonights exciting show?" (( :P Told yah, need to add insane fans and reports for a true red carpet feel....)) Khaira offered a dazzling smile and a wink to the reporter, and executed a flourishing bow. Her musical voice then rang out in answer to the reporter, clear as a bell, and loud enough for those around her to hear every word. "The best part, my dear? The music! The screaming fans!" Khaira paused, surveying the already gathered group of myriad award winners. "Most of all, though, it'll be interesting to see who's won an award; just look at all of these unique denizens already gathered here! Never will you ever find such a wide, diverse and, dare I say strange collection of individuals! I must definitely say this will be a night worth remembering!" |
| Taeldrin Laesrash06-19-05, 11:24 PM | Newbie Award? The heck? I think you have the wrong guy. Check somewhere out of character. "Oh, you and your whining. You should be happy you've got the attention." Taeldrin Laesrash stands at a distance from Kito, walking along, but a bit jealous from Kito's shot to fame. He waves an oncoming photographer off. |
| Drindin06-20-05, 03:36 AM | Drindin looks over at the picture takers, not even cracking a smile --- to do so would be very uncharacteristic, and he doesn't want to cover up who he truly is. Krissy cracks her trade mark creepy smirk, punctuating it with a soft shrug. "I'm not complaining." |
| Arshes06-20-05, 04:30 AM | Two robed figures and a fang dragon enter. Obviusly it is arshes and Adrinth, but the crowd wonders who the dragon is. Meawhile, interviewers run up to them to ask them questions. Ask one question, and Thurgix'oth will tear you to shreds.I have come here to relax, for once, and will not be nothered by reporters. The dragon licked his lips and added And I do hope you start asking questions. Arshes and his small group continued onward, although Thurgix'oth flew into the air and started circling his companions. |
| Savael06-20-05, 06:20 AM | There is a flash of red light, a cloud of lime-green smoke smelling faintly of scented oils and an appreciative 'whoop' from the crowd. Savael steps through the front entrance and makes his way down the red carpet. His attire seems to lack little in the way of neither silk not fur or gold, and if anyone learned in such things are present, they can easily see that the cut and lining are fresh out of the newest Watherdavian fashion houses. He gives a jaunty wave to the crowd, flashes a quick grin at the reporters and moves off to find a seat before too many questions can be asked. |
| Myranthor06-20-05, 02:09 PM | .. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai06-20-05, 04:23 PM | Loud as it is, the crowd's collective noise can't seem to swallow a seporate sound of dripping. It is as if the dripping is percieved by another sence, identical to hearing in its nature, yet existing independently from it. For anyone who pays attention to the sound's origin {less than half of the crowd, but a notable part of it still}, it becomes visible that the small drops of some thick, green stuff are falling to the cieling, where they form a slowly growing puddle. The source of these drops seems to be a plant of some sort, quite regular in its appearance, although not recognizable as any known kind. Its stems are sharm, and its leaves are large, heavy and thin, which causes some of them to end up impaled on the stems; no one has a clue as to how did it manage to grow through the hall's floor, and never get stomped by those who rush in. When the dripping stops, the plant wilts within seconds, and when a passing journalist carelessly kicks in on his way in, it falls down, as if it never had any roots: the floor it grew from is smooth and undisturbed, except for a light smell of burnt water that emanates form that spot. Watched by that small part of the crowd which isn't too esmerized by the honor guests and nominees, the green puddle on the cieling begins crawling norhtwards, to reach the dome's center, but suddenly splashes, as if something heavy fell into it, and spreads in an inkblot's shape across a few square meters, with a few of its pertuberances hanging downwards, and one changing color at seemingly random patterns and changing speed. *** Meanwhile, outside, feelings are greatly mixed, as a large, royal deer strides gracefully along the red carpet. The green entwined vines on his majestic horns carry many small blooming flowers of all colors along theyr length, and are lain on these horns in the shape of a large questionmark, the dot under it being a big malachit stone attached to the deer's forehead. On its back, there is a small rider dressed in blues, blacks and purples, {to the latter of whoch his long, smooth hair belongs as well}, with a chain wrapped diagonally across his torso. The visual memory of Hatred is keener than that of Fondness, and so before the rider's supporters recognize him, a few stones fly towards him and his steed. Instead of bothering to dodge the stones, the mounted elf catches them, and drops them to the ground before they hit him, the deer, or anyone standing on the carpet's oposit end from the throwers'. Many of the ones present had either theyr young daughter run away after a few well-placed words, theyr wealth stolen, or theyr long-running plots of controll and abuse terminated with the gentle motion of a small blade or a sweet vocal tune. Some of these knew, though they discovered too late, who was responsible. None of them saw it the way he belived they should. The elf's long, purple hair waved in the wind from the speed of his mount's stride, but once at the door, he leaped from the deer's back, and the latter turned around faster than some would blink, and walked slowly back. Just before the reporters closed in, did the only real assasin make his move. All who knew well enough to desire this bard's demise, and who knew of his appearance here, had theyr hand in financing this act. The needle was not magical, in relation to the harmit could bring, or the sureness with which it strikes - the assasin's unimaginable mastery alone took care of the latter, and the perilous, expensive and time-consuming expedition in which its poison was aquired took care of the latter. Nor had magic anything to do with its concealing: the assasin's skill was suchm that no blowgun was needed - he simply threw the needle, in a way that seeme like natural motion of cheering; its size was such, that no eye could percieve it, and reaching a craftsmen and a tool who could manufacture an object so thin actually involved chronomancy. The only spell lain here had to deal with probability: no person must come between thrower and his target at the moment of attack; nothing must cause the victim to move at that moment; no unexpected event must interfere; and the magic conjured for that was ondeed of an epic scale. Without the shade of suspicion form any bar none, the infinicimally thin needle entered the heart of him, who is commonly known as the Chanting Mistery. Too small to even wound the tissues it passed, it however delivered a material into that heart, that even in this invisibly tiny amount would slay the bard in a few hours after being planted into his heart. As paied for, the asssin left no one {inclueding the victim} even a chance to notice, neither now nor later. Pretending it's his duty to do so, a mage's young apprentice form the crowd called, after hurrying to read a scroll that caused his voice to grow in volume and impressiveness: "Please wellcome Chanting Mistery! He Whose Ballads Shatter Chains And Mend Souls! Double nominee, for the the Oddest Character and for the best Bard on the Map!" Although the crowd - inclueding those who never heard of Chan - chears in responce, a pair of security personel is quick to remove from it the to-be mage for his "contribution". The celebrities were not meant to be announced at this point, and surely not by overly enthusiastical fans who have nothing to do with the event's management. While that happened, on the red carpet the reporters srrounded theyr new target tightly. With a verse only they could hear, Ting rises in the air above these reporters, to make sure no fan's vision of him is blocked more than the crowd would block it anyway. Of the reporters, most of whom are forced by nature to remain on the ground, a majority remains ignored by the elf. The shortest of reporters, however, pulls handle attached to his gnomish jetpack {too heavy for an actual averege gnome to carry, but quite fit for this bulky dwarf}, and rises to be on eye level with the star he seeks to interview. The dwarven reportner, now sure no one can interrupt him when he's on that level, asks in a steady and representative voice, not minding to be longwinded: "M'lord Chan Ting! You are known for your modesty, but what if not the craving of fame caused you to bribe the authorities into allowing the nomination of you - a murderer in cold blood claiming, or atleast not denying to be serving the cause of greater good?!" "Thou art mistaken, messir, for i am no lord, and that undermines thy remaining assumings...", comes the calm, slightly melancholical reply, in the bard's friendly and almost appologizing tone. The dwarf is about to argue, or perhaps change the direction of his questioning, but is pulled by his legs to the ground, by a partiularily large monk of the Old Order, who proceeds to chop his jetpack into disrepair with his bare hand. Gaolie Fang, who ignores reporters completely and doesn't seem to have any "fans" has been reported to accompany Ting here as his bodyguard and fellow musician. Considering that Gaolie is a halforc, and one trained in the Old Order to boot, few doubt that theyr common performance would be loud enough for all to hear. "Hey Chantin'! You say y'ain't no lord, but dinnae ya got yasself a castle an' title from Overking Shos, like five'ears 'go?", calls a halfling girl who seems to be the dwrf's polar oposit in regard to social status, means, and professionality. "M'dear, furrrfeit thy welth ere the vile or the misguided aquire it through thyself; hold no title, my sweet, for in return for power it enslaves thee and thy newfound power alongside. Posession and power are only thine in truth, if none but those thou chooseth thyself have knowlege of them!" The bard's true followers cheer insanely, while those not too familiar with him outside his music, or not familiar at all, simply stare at dumbfounded, or nudge theyr friends and turn fingers by theyr temples. The halfling reporter's eyes grow starry, and her mouth opens idly, in surprise of the honest-sounding words of love from the start she has never spoken to before. She is hardly in the condition to ask further question, but simply stands there and blinks, reluctant to step back into the crowd. Just before he turns to enter the hall, Chanting Mistry's attention is drawn to another reporter - this time a middle-class young human, who seems to be new to the profession, and either ignorant, indefferent, or simply neutral regarding the bard's person. "Word has you're here with two fellow nominees, each sharing a category with you... but there's no one with you. Is that deer a lycanthrope or something? Is he one of the nominees?" "Both Thok and m'liege Dlaeh, shall be here. Our arrivals are dissynchronized tastefully by ye latter..." Inspired by being chosen from the throng of reporters third {and possibly last}, the human hurries to improvize another question, one he did not plan, nor discussed with his editors, since no one belived he'd have the oportunity for more than one question: "Ugh... speaking of lycanthropes, is the rumor true that you're one yourself?" To that the bard smiles, and kneels in the air, then leans to reach the young man's year with his lips. None could see the way his lips moved to wisper, but as soon as he rose, the reporter fell down without breath nor pulse. *** Several men in tight black clothing, each carrying a light mace on one hip and a golden wand on the other, all shaves similarily and of the same height, quickly push through the crows, shouting for allt o make way: "Clear everyone! Please move back without panic! There is a high pseudonatural activity within that building, or near it, and we must secure the area! Staying here any longer puts each one of you in reach of the Far Realm's corruptive interferance! Please move away!" The crowd begins to shift, with some even recognizing the obscure order of the Sentinels of Reality, but the following occurance overwhelms the disturbance, causing the people to stay and the Sentinels to chose between leaving, or staying to listen like everyone else: Chanting Mistery begins singing. Your bright enchanting smile Reminds me of the day when I learnt nothing lasts forever And your goodwill's just another hoax of your kind The crowd hushes down to listen. Gaolie Fang sits down, there on the carpet, with his orcan drums at his hands, and the huge pipelike instrument positioned to allow him playing it with his mouth without holding it. The accomapniment of these two intruments thus joins the song - Time and time again That feeling had got lost and ever since I've tried to understand the meaning of My inner self conviction I lied... To myself The last line is whispered loudly by both Ting and the halforc, who momentarily takes his mouth out of the standing pipe. A young human, whom few recognize as Mylph, pulls his strangely designed magical yarting from behind his back, parts form the crowd, and joins with his accompaniment as planned beforehand. As we all know, time consumes our daily gladness That cannot last 'till the day after From this I will hide myself And then a fourth instrument, held by a third, yet to be seen musician, joins the accomapaniment Skywards again, I search for my dimension People don't know how I am alive Experience has taught to count every single move Now I know I'm standing alone Stone after stone I'm moulding my shelter I watch it grow with endless delight Carry me, carry me all your devotion Deep in my heart to see my haven fall once again At this point, Gaolie abandons the drums for now, and his fingers begin closing and opening cavities on his standing pipe. The music now controlled by that, in addition to the tembres of his breath, is now much gentler and more delicate. The crowd is now fully silent, and is thus able to appreciate the newfound delicancy. The lovely beeches told me to think for myself; to bury down the lies of other minds and I know I cannot be last but first As we all know, time consumes our daily gladness That cannot last 'till the day after From this I'll hide myself And now Fang's hands return to the drums, leaving the pipe to his mouth alone Skywards again, I search for my dimension People don't know how I am alive Experience has taught to count every single move Now I know I'm standing alone Stone after stone I'm moulding my shelter I watch it grow with endless delight Carry me, carry me all your devotion Deep in my heart to see my haven fall once again Now the monk's mouth leaves the pipe as well, and his savage, roaring voice joins that of Ting, while his hands beat the drums with furious speed Torturize in the night I am falling down - Into the dark! Deep within it's a dream I cannot control - It's killing me! Though the halforc sings - or rather roars - no more, he doesn't return to the pipe, and his wild drumming continues. Mylf's young and rough voice joins Chan Ting's once Gaolie's stops My human conscience is dragging me down - Into the dark... The temptress whispers: "Again!" - It's killing me... The word "again" was shrieked by a feminine voice, probably that of the unseen musucian, whose playing was absent during this verse. The music now dies, and all three of them scream or roar the word "Skywards!!!" one final time. Using the temporary tunnedness of nearly all the present, Chanting mistery - followed by Mylf and Gaolie Fang - enter the hall, where a tree has grown from the floor, during the last fourthy minutes reaching an impressive height and width. *** When the band enters, and the green puddle on the cieling clearly meows, atleast one reporter realizes what must await within the tree. The dwarf drops off his broken jetpack, and hurries inside. Knocking on the tree's trunk he asks: "Master Thok the Tastelessly Colorful And Ridiculously White! The rumor has it, that you are nominated for the same categories are the lord Chan Ting, and have with you a friend nominated for one of them as well, who does not, in fact exist. What is your responce to this hearsay?" "Ah, that is a good question indeed!", comes a measured, deep voice, with an orcan accent so obvious that is seems to contradict the articulate pronounciation and perfectly correct Common. "I would therefor like to state, that inspite of common belief, gravity, infact, pulls all mass downwards, rather than upwards." While the dwarven reporter opens his mouth, to either ask another question or deal with the confusion caused by the last answer, the green inklotlike thing falls down from the cieling in a single, purring blob, and flattens against his head, covering the face in a way that mostly barrs speach and eyesight, in addition to actually making a negative quantity of sence. Several eyes, in different sizes, shapes, colors, and ways of attachment to the body, sprout on Fluee-Glooey's body. Most of them turn to watch the tree, which now produces sounds that hont on its being chopped open from withing, using tools ment for completely different tasks. [Disclaimer: The lyrics are by Elvenking, not myself. This band's songs are so fitting to CM, that i desided to compromise my habit of always writing my own, and let him use these.] |

| Dandrie Swift06-20-05, 07:01 PM | He sat back from the stage, swaddled in murk. None really even noticed him at all as they were to busy to with the awards. Though if they took the time to peer into the shadowy depths where he sat, it is doubtful they would have even realized he sat there. His head bowed down staring at the floor, periodically looking up at the crowd. He was focusing his energy upon them. Most would say dark energy, but it is harmless enough and he could be benevolent when he has to. The shadows around him would dance and flicker in excitement as if someone lit a single candle. Taking one last deep lungful of air the rogue focused his energy around him. A portal of swirling dark opened up beneath him. He gazed ahead, and replaying his choreographed actions in his head for perhaps the thousandth time. With a nod, he willed himself into the swirling darkness. Disappearing inch by inch until it consumed him, somewhat akin to a snake swallowing an egg. On the stage a band finished playing a breathtaking song, leaving it open for attack. A second portal of the same swirling dark opened up to be clearly seen from the audience. Onlookers gasped, a gigantic snout pushed its way through. A demon perhaps, or some other denizen of the lower planes. Slowly. Oh so slowly it pushed forward. Some members of the audience stifled a shriek, recognizing it was the maw of some great shadow dragon. Before long a complete head had forced it’s way through. Without warning it opened its gigantic jaws as if to let out a roar that only a dragon can achieve, but no sound came. Instead the wyrm’s mouth kept opening wider and wider, far more than any living creature could achieve. In one final burst the dragon’s head folded into itself, sending a wave of shadowstuff cascading throughout the stage. There standing several feet back from the podium in the place of the shadow was a man of average build and height and a dark swarthy complexion even in the spotlights that were now focused upon him. Sporting a common tunic and a long flowing cape this man was not much to behold had he not just erupted from a shadow dragon’s head. Walking forward his fine boots clacked loudly on the mahogany floor. As the mysterious figure reached the podium he looked deep into the crowd. Silence. Some were silent in horror, wondering what evil came to there awards. Some were silent in fascination, wondering what would happen next. Most were silent, wondering what would happen. And some were silent gazing at him unimpressed by this act of showmanship. But for whatever reason they had, all in attendance were utterly silent and not so much of cough could be heard. Winking at several finely dressed ladies, some human and some elven. The figure unsheathed a serrated dagger and held up a note. The note was placed in a tiny enveloped with five words printed upon it. Holding the note to the podium he fastened it there with his dagger. The guards, finally worked themselves up to approach the intruder of the awards, but as they neared tendrils of shadow raced up his body hiding him from view. Nevertheless they rushed the podium and picked up the note. Silently the Dancer of Shadows reappeared several inches behind the bumbling guards. The audience gasped loudly in fearful anticipation of the guard’s demise. It never came. For the final time the pool of swirling dark opened up at the visitor’s feet. And inch by inch he was consumed once more. The whole stage erupted into a frenzy, people murmuring to one another speculation who that was, the guards spreading out to find him. Away from all this, in the uppermost seats of the Awards Hall, a lone figure sat, there chuckling to himself. Before long a second body materialized from dark. “You just had to try and outdo the rest of those bravos didn’t you?” “It was only natural” “That was reckless and besides what if they caught you” “It had to be done and besides you got a good laugh out of it” “True enough and what exactly did you put on that piece of paper.” With a chuckle the rogue said, “My votes. Signed, Dandrie Swift. Now enough of this banter let’s watch the show. You never know what can happen.” "By the way what was with the dragon." "Oh you know, Everyone's doing it." |
| ruthia06-20-05, 09:32 PM | As the murmuring of the crowd dies down and the few who had passed out with from the excitement of seeing so many of their favorite stars, people begin to get slightly bored with the lull in entrances. Just then some one points up with a gasp! A few people look up to see what that person is pointing at. Several hundred feet above the crowd are five colored specks, the sun glinting off of them giving them an almost gem like look. As the growing group of people watch the specks get larger and larger until it is apparent that these are not just birds, their dragons! Flying in a V formation, wings lightly brushing their neighbors body, they seem to be in some sort of order. Gold at the tip, bronze to the left and brown to the right. On the right side of the brown is a green one and on the left side of the bronze is a blue one. Just as the group gets close enough for the crowd to make out details such as tail spikes and wing lengths when a smaller white dragon appears out of no where, trumpeting so loudly that several people have to cover their ears to block out the sound. The sound gets even louder as the five others bugle their answer back the power of the sound knocks several of the reports below down as they try to take a picture of this odd scene. The little white one weaves in and out of the others flapping wings as they seem to be getting lower and lower to the ground. People start screaming and running as it looks like the dragons are about to land on top of them! But just feet above the crowd there is a sudden flash of light that blinds everyone momentarily and a gust of wind that knocks everyone still standing to the ground. When people start picking themselves up and looking around them again they are astonished to see Ruthia, the white dragon of Pern and her siblings. Wirenth the Gold, Lioth the Bronze, Branth the Brown, Sireth the Blue, and Beth the Green follow Ruthia into the auditorium in the perfect formation they had followed in the air, each dressed in a flowing robe that matches the color they are as a dragon.. Reports recover from the shock and start yelling out questions, but it was to little to late. The group had already passed through the doors and into the backstage area……. |
| Voll06-21-05, 12:02 AM | Back outside, young and old fans alike were still screaming with excitement. Never in the history of the Realms had so many legends, both exalted and vile, gathered around in one place. The bouncers were beginning to have trouble keeping all the fans in check. Suddenly, a hiss of divine energy crackled through the afternoon air as a magical circle of golden light steadily traced itself along the beginning of the red carpet. Once the circle was complete, a smaller semi circle was drawn inside of it followed up with two smaller circles above. The resulting image was that of a ridiculous looking smiley face. :) After another pulse of holy magic, the crude image shot up towards the sky creating a golden pillar of light. Emerging from the brilliant beam, appeared two familiar figures: a tall fellow in a white over coat with gleaming shoulder pads, and a shorter man draped in black. The taller man stepped forward, and exclaimed in a mighty voice: "JAAAAVOOOOH!!!" http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portvoll.gif |
| Kheldar06-21-05, 12:59 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongkheldar.gif Kheldar blinked, trying to acquaint himself with his new surroundings. Somehow Voll's spell had ended up working, although Kheldar had no idea how. Well regardless, he followed his friend down the red carpet, grinning at the audience and winking at all the pretty girls. "How did you manage that Voll? Unless I'm mistaken, that was a word of recall spell you used - you've never been here before! Have you?" As he continued steping towards the grand double-doors, Kheldar produced a folded up piece of shimmering black cloth and a plain sack with the text "Type I" sewn into it. | Voll06-21-05, 01:13 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portvoll.gif "Ha!" Voll shot a wink to his little buddy. "I jogged down here yesterday as a part of my regular demon slaying daily vork out! Zhat's vhen I set up za spell." Voll smiled joyfully to himself as if his simple plan were the most clever thing in all the world. |
| Kheldar06-21-05, 02:21 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongkheldar.gif Kheldar smirked. His friend was usually more prepared than the he, or anyone else, gave the man credit for. "I prepared something too. . . Remember that argument those two stuffy-headed wizards held over the consequences of mixing together two-extra dimensional spaces?" Kheldar tied his plain cloth sack to a crossbow bolt and loaded the augmented quarrel into a sturdy-looking crossbow with a heavy stock. "I always wished they had the gumption to just give it a shot. . . It ought to make for an interesting spectacle any way." Kheldar unraveled the shimmering black fabric he had taken out before and forcefully flung it into the air! It spun around, hovering 15 feet over a section of the audience before the roguey archer fired his payload directly into it. K-KR-KRAAACCKKK-AK-AKK - BOOOM!!! With a marvelous display of light and color, a horrible rift in the material plane tore itself wide-open across the sky. The dazzling sea of colors howled quite audibly as it violently sucked up Kheldar's portable hole and bag of holding as well as any other nearby unattended objects. After enthralling it's audience for as long as it could, the rift bit by bit sealed itself up. Kheldar laughed with mad delight. Maybe it hadn't been the most spectacular thing he had ever seen, but he had created it and that was something to be jovial about. "Alright, lets get inside - Hopefully Ruthia doesn't find out I tried to swallow up the audience." Artwork copyright © 2005, Gordon R. Quigley |
| Rath'mak06-21-05, 04:07 AM | A bright ring of light formed in the sky. It began to grow and get thicker, then it started to rotate. A rainbow of color swam around its surface, reds mixing with blues and white suddenly forming into gold. Then, as suddenly as the ring, now an orb, started, it vanished. In its place was four chaotic aligned dragons, a fang, a black, a copper, and a chaos dragon. They flew off in random directions, ziggaging through the air and dive bombing the crowd. All of a sudden they shot into the air and merged together to form a four headed ancient chaos dragon, Rath'mak- lord of the chaos dragons. He flew toawrds the ground and shited into several forms before landing as a young elf male. He quickly ran through the reporters and went into the main hall. |
| Kathryn_aka_Kat06-21-05, 10:30 AM | http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v30/Cimeara/ports/auriana-kat-avi.jpg The brown-haired woman watches, quietly standing, just part of the crowd. She seems greatly amused by the elaborate entrances, though with a quick flash of annoyance (and even quicker grab) as her necklaces try to fly off towards the rift. . o O (Damn him! Still playing dangerous games... and I wouldn't put it past him to have some way of recovering anything sucked into that hole! Still... good to see him again. Alright, alright, I'm too curious... I'll go inside after all... but it's been far too long to warrant a fuss.) As the rest of the crowd oohs and aahs over the quartet of dragons, she sidles close to a photographer who's craning his neck to the skies and frantically snapping pictures. An instant later, green-gold eyes smile warmly at the bouncer with a whispered, "Quite a display, better watch out for sparks from the pyrotechniics though!" as she slips past him into the back of the hall, photographer's spare camera slung over her leather vest and her thumb casually covering the picture on the press pass. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai06-21-05, 11:52 AM | Finally the tree cracked up, and fell apart, revealing a strangely clean orc. His face, and general appearance is such, that among his own kind he is most likely to be refered to as "sissy", "phaggot", and several less literaturistic endearments. Among other kinds, however, he would be considered almost handsome... for an orc. It is possible that some - though obviously less than half - of his blood is human. His angs are polished to perfect whiteness for the ocasion, and even his long black hair, that is usually greasy and tangled, seems to be washed and combed now, giving him and even more feminine appearance in the eyes of normal orcas; hopefully not many of his kind are in the crowd, although he himself would be glad to see some of his own kind. The black rod in his hand, braced by bands of some greenish metal, which extend into chains holding spiked metal orbs - one on each side - can be recognized, by those who know this orc's name, as the Distractor: his famous two-sided flail, whose magical qualities change on an unsteady basis. His robes are white, and so thin they are nearly transparent, but attached to them are multiple stripes and bands of leather and cloth, all in na array of different colors, that are used as both ornaments and substitution for pockets: scrolls and pouches hang from many of them, as well as some small tools of unknown purpose. A chain, hanging diagonally from his muscular neck, holds two books that are partially covered by the robes, through looks of metal on theyr backcover. Thok the Random smiles like a milion goldpieces, and so does - in her own pseudonatural way - his beloved familiar: With a murrflish sound, Fluee-Glooey leaps from the stunned reporter's head, and lands on her master's shoulders, drawing in her pseudopods and regaining a remotely feline shape. The alienist's muscular shape descends, sitting down on one of the pieces of the tree he emerged from. This time, it is not the removed apprentice, but his actual master, who announces this newcoming celebrity in the same way as his apentice did for the bard. The old gnome would seldom aallow himself such inapropriety, but he felt proud of this unusually cultured orc: after all, they were both wildmages, and it is rare for one of theyr profession to achieve such public recognition. "Let us wellcome Thok the Random! Wildmage, tribal shaman, Alienist, and a true follower of Liira! Nominee for the Oddest Character and the best Wizard on the Map!" While the orc visibly blushes at the honor, guards approach the gnomish wizard, but choose to do no more than give a warning glance. After all, removing this one might prove notably harder than taking away his apprentice earlier. The halfling reporter, now revived after the bard's attention, and greatly inspired by it, rushes inside to try and push her luck with this new arrival. As any carefree young girl, she may be well awre of the musical scene, but knows little of famous wizards, and other such things commonly fascinating adults; still, she wouldn't miss a chance to get another interview, on a day when luck is obviously at her side. Recalling the question directed to Chan Ting by another reporter {and conviniently forgetting that reporter's current condition}, she runs up to the large, greenish alienist and calls: "Yo, Thok! Some say you here with Chantin', an' anotha guy runnin' for your award - where's dat third? Who's it?" With the same voice as before, though it is no longer muffled by the tree's mass, the orc responds, smiling amaibly at the girl: "I once had a daughter, who looks just like you." Normally, he would stop at this point, but something - or rather someone within him pushes him {whether out of self-promotive considerations, or out of interest in the reporter} to continue, and so Thok goes on: "Yes... i carry Dlaeh in the cavity between my hypothalmus and my third arm. You see, he was nominated for Best Player of the past year, for the Greatest Cast of Dyverse Characters, and for the Oddest Character on the Map, but there is a predicament in regard to this last nomination: he does not, infact, exist. This is hardly a problem in context of the two other categories, but the latter requires him to actually be a character - hence my effort of bringing him with me." The halfling, for the second and a half time today, remains completely clueless of what the hell was it she has just heard or witnessed, and is this time too dumbfounded by Thok's "explanation" to even blink in misunderstanding. The darf, however, shocked by the thought that so far he achieved no more than did this unprofessional brat in interviewing the current celebrity, comes forth for another question: "Cast of dyverse characters? So far the only "characters" you claim are related to this "Dlaeh" of yours are the rebelious singer over there and yourself. You are both nominated for the same category - that isn't very dyverse, now is it?" This time Thok has no chance to make a typical {for him} answer. The imaginary friend inside him seems to literally pull the orc's tongue, making him defend his "player"'s honor: "Ah, but there are others! There is Zincaller... though he worships, among others, the same mistress as i. You might have seen him, when he participated in the Veild's assault against Apathy. And there is Noulminurr Issareil, who would have been nominated for the Best Ego if he wasn't late to show up. Him you might have seen, when he joined Astrianna, Kulideb and Twinkle Toes in theyr quest to purify the forest. Then there is Lord Atlas Athakus, a patron of the Flute & Boot inn, who aided in the destruction of a Erythnulite temple to protect Krissy. There is one without a name, who joined Drindin's wonderings, but mostly to pursue his own goals... and there is Wingljay, but let's not speak of him: he failed twice, and can't even remember it; i bet that's why the Faeryqueen sent him away. And there are wfa`Hethek, and Treemmouphindar, and Aklaide Shaktah - all of these are known well, though not in these parts; there are much less famous names as well..." At this point, te orc suddenly shuts up. It is obvious for anyone who knows him, that it wasn't him speaking during that time; perhaps it was his imaginary friend, "Dlaeh", but that would be hard to check. At any rate, during this short speach, he has probably made more sence than he did altogether ever since the Far Realm's called caused him to go beyond the puny limits of sanity. In his short confusion, the alienist poked his interviewer with a finger, sending the poor dwarf drifting in the air without ability to tread any surface, and replacing his knowlege of Common by Auld Wyrmish. |
| Ramoth06-21-05, 12:58 PM | Walking swiftly down the red carpet pushing the Reports out of her way, Ramoth starts clearing the carpet a little for the next stars to come in. "Come on COme on, move along and step aside. You all had your chance now stand aside and wait!" |
| Myranthor06-21-05, 02:03 PM | The poor, helpless young man was thrown away, bruised under the heavy mass of the grayish orcs surrounding him, each of them running madly in one direction or another, heading for one of the many exits of the underground complex they were currently trapped in. Their muscular, sweaty, disgusting bodies were touching his, despite his evident repulsion for such physical contacts. Carrying on his back all of his own gear, a longsword, a spellbook, a spell component pouch, trail rations for many days and his bedroll, the teenager tried to carve his own way in the moving swarm of anonymous individuals, going, step after step, toward the exit he had to reach himself. After having fought with several disgusting goblinoids and lizardfolk, he managed to reach his final goal, climbing a narrow pathway, and arrived in a large, circular area, a barren land in which countless corporeal remains laid scattered, gnawed and perfectly clean. The anxious boy walked idly, his eyes observing scrupulously the strange place he had discovered, as he tried to understand what caused this unexplained accumulation of corpses, leaving his exposed back vulnerable to a vicious predator, a terrible, reptilian foe that had observed him since he had left the security of the cavern, keeping well above the clouds to remain hidden from his unsuspecting prey. The beast’s wings stopped flapping, coming closer to its saurian body, as the monstrous creature dove on the helpless human, seizing him wholly in its lethal, draconic jaw, lodging him, alive, in the wyrm’s gargantuan belly. Having traveled throughout the beast’s welcoming trachea, the young man reached a deep pocket, probably the stomach, in which many other travelers were sitting, awaiting for something to happen. While they all awaited for some kind of catastrophe, like a sudden flooding of acidic, gastric juices, they were instead surprised by a sudden violent motion, sign that our carrier had once more took flight. A little halfling, unused by such disturbing tremors, added his own meal to the dragon’s in the latter’s digestive organs, making our safe little haven even more pleasurable. Nevertheless, the remainder of the trip passed uneventfully, for several hours. However, as suddenly as it all started, we were all ejected violently, thrown along a repugnant pile of digested matter, in a circular area, similar to the one we were seized in. Yet, the air was warmer, and we had left our home region’s unbearable dryness for a more humid atmosphere. The night had already fell upon this new land, and there was not a lot of time left until the boy could reach the place in which he had planned to spend the night. He courageously took his gear with him, despite his recent misadventures and the tiredness that was now his unfailing companion of travel, for the hours spent in the dragon’s body had been numerous. Nevertheless, he took an old map from his backpack, searching for his way in this foreign country, overconfident in his own skills and abilities. It took a long time, for he lost himself more than twice, following wrong roads and dead alleyways often, before he managed to reach the impressive, the impressive mansion in which he was awaited for. Relieved, he knocked on the locked doors, waiting for an obedient butler to open what separated him from a soft, comfy bed. The placid servant never came to the door, having since a long time left his job to go sleep. In spite of the warnings he had been given, the careless boy arrived too late, after the final hour in which he could’ve been welcomed in the grandiose building. He was homeless, had not much money on him, and had nowhere to go. Decided not to panic, he let his gear fall on the ground, and he unrolled his warm bedroll next to the palace’s door, thinking that he could as well spend what remained of the night around. It is in that’s state that many could’ve seen him, when he was still sleeping when the first visitors arrived. http://www.geocities.com/myrluika/133_3304.JPG I awoke suddenly, my sleep destroyed by a loud shout, characterized by a disturbing, yet strangely familiar, goofy and German voice. To pinpoint the exact person who was actually the bearer of that roaring voice would’ve impossible, sadly. I rather proceeded to awake completely, shaking my head around, trying to remember what weird kind of dream I had once again, wondering if once more the dalai-lama would want to pummel me out *or if I’d find myself ordering chicken in Italy*. No, last night had been more hideous, yet simpler to comprehend than the precedent nightmarish displays of confusion I had been the victim of. That last dream had simply been the tale of my recent excursion, as I bravely fought through countless and unknown passengers in a dreary airport, until a draconic Boeing took me in its warm, infernal belly along with vomiting kids, only to drop me here, alone in the middle of Peter Jackson’s paradise. I looked around, trying to discern, within all of these strangers, some familiar faces I had already some peaceful links with. The feeling I knew would come actually manifested itself, when I realized how much terrible, dangerous and mighty all those gathered around me were, while I was, myself, more or less defenseless, armed only with wits and a very cynical mind. Hence, I wanted to find trusted friend that would, in case of danger, be able to protect my so fragile life. I took up from the ground my scattered equipment: my sleeping bag, a few pencils, my camera, clean clothes for today, a pile of paper and a book on economy, “Capitalism, socialism and democracy”*, that I had sworn to finish during the summer despite its cryptic and hermetic content, and headed on the red carpet, hoping to reach lady Khaira Amastacia, one of the few persons I had catch a glimpse of and could fully trust in this hectic environment. *authentic |

| Lolita06-21-05, 04:18 PM | Through the doors emerges the thin, lithe figure of Naki, in all her kitsune glory. She had decided it was a fine enough occasion for her violet kimono of intricately embroidered silk, and was wearing it as she made her way inside, her hair a long black sheet hanging down her back. Being the demon she was, she was on edge. Returning to the Surface heightened her superstitions, but she knew it was silly of her. A slight smirk spread across her face as she came to the crowd before her, amused apparently. "I hope I'm not late..."she whispers, blinking her fox-like eyes and catching a scent on the air. ((ooc:I think that was my enterance)) |
| Solmund06-21-05, 05:38 PM | While he was not nominated for any awards, Solmund decided to observe anyways. He came in the commoners entrance, though not one person recognized him thanks to his alter self spell. walked over to a pillar, leaned back, and watched everyones flashy entrances, huffing with dissaproval at agudos egotistic entrance. A group of humans, deciding to have an easy fight, hobbled over to solmund, thier daggers drawn. Gerv us ya money, or we'll slit ya throat and take it from ya. Solmund didn't answer, but let his head fall down as if he were asleep. Didn't ya 'ere us? Well, then mybe we should take with our weapons. They advanced towards solmund, but just as they were to strike, a gold tinted skin elf jumped down on them, fire spraying from his mouth. Need some help? The elf asked as the now burned would be thieves ran into the fountain. No thank you, grandfather. I was fine on my own. They dissapeared rom sight, reappearing a few minutes later near the entrance. |
| Pipers Youth06-21-05, 08:54 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongpipers.gif Not to far from Agudo, a minute fiery slit appears in the planar rift, that suddenly swells to a enormous proportion. From within comes the stench of brimstone, and gives onlookers a peer into a fiery hell. Intense flames dance over the surface of the portal, and terrible demonic grunts, and deep laughter come within followed by screams of agony, and pain, for telling a gruesome tale of eternal torture. The surface ripples for a moment, and from the chaos emerges a pale, lean figure cloaked in robes of fine crimson, laced with the elegant patterns of gold. Most en telling about the Red Wizard are his eyes, like twin pools of darkness, that always appear to be locked in a fierce gaze. A shock of unkept almond hair almost touched his shoulders, that complimented his sharp features. Piper of Thay toyed idly with a red gem pendent at his throat, and smirked with disfavor at all the rabble around him. From the scorched carpet leading ahead of him, and the screams of the crowd, he was indeed in the awards chamber. More figures stepped from the portal behind him, but he ignored them. Something else caught his attention, in front of him. Something flaunty and blue, that waved cheerfully at people. "Archmage." He let the word linger on his lips with a hiss. At all the times, he had to arrive behind the blonde bearded buffoon. He swore a curse to the b**** of the weave, Mystra for his sour luck. He entertained the thought to blast Agudo to cinders at that moment, but thought better of it, gazing upon all the other folk here. Instead he raised a pale hand to dismiss the gate to the Eternal Plane of Fire, at the same time, wave to his abyssal minions. "Come, and let this be done with, perhaps we might encounter some old friends." he said hinting at the prospect of bumping into allies, and started to trail the red carpet. | Darshendros06-22-05, 10:30 PM | A spark of light flashes a few feet above the ground, a small distance away from the where the awards ceremony was being held, holding still in the air for an instance before exploding into a dazzling array of dancing lights. The sparkles fade before hitting the ground, falling around the figure of a human looking figure, crouching in place where the spark had flashed. The man had long, white hair that fell over his face and draped down his back and shoulders, and wore a dark cloak that covered the rest of his features. He rose slowly, wavering a bit on his feet, seeming to be disoriented. A gloved hand moved out from under the folds of his cloak and up to his face, brushing back his white locks. Crimson eyes fell upon the structure before him, and the crowds amassed all around, with various persons making flashy entrances every minute. "Oh gods," Darshendros groaned, "I knew this would happen. I must be in one of the Hells." He sighed, remembering the events leading up to the present, and the spell he used that was finely tuned to bring him to any random tavern, if any, that existed on the world he was visiting. Otherwise, the spell would have spat him out in some random location, like a bog swamp littered with ravenous pygmies. Darsh shuddered at that memory. Sometimes, he feared that the spell would go awry and spit him out into a completely different plane of existence. He only hoped that this wasn't the case, and this was just a very popular tavern, or something of the sort. Darsh performed a thorough check of his belongings and gear. He wore a robe-like garment underneath his cloak, black with crimson trimmings and custom tailored to fit snugly against his lean physique (think Neo's suit from the last two Matrix sequels). A leather belt wrapped around his waist, from which hung a sword that appeared in all likeness to be a katana. The pommel was wrapped in a dark leather substance, with four curved prongs at the butt clinging, like a claw, to a chromatic orb the size of a human eyeball. The hilt had another four curving barbs, which looked more like talons, curling up from each corner with the tips toward the blade, sheathed in a polished black saya. Leather boots adorned his feet, which scuffed softly along the ground as Darshendros made his way to the "tavern", oblivious to the events that were brewing inside, and wondering if he would get inside at all. As Darshendros drew closer and closer, he couldn't help but feel that this was some kind of ceremony. There was a red carpet, fabulously dressed people, and roudy fangirls and fanboys who screamed like banshees whenever one of the people who made flashy entrances arrived and walked down the red carpet. Definately must be one of the Hells, he thought to himself, drawing the hood of his cloak up over his head as he merged in with the screaming crowd to look for a way inside. |

| Darshendros06-26-05, 01:43 AM | Darsh was finding it impossible to move through this crowd, and more than once someone had bumped into him or tried to shove past him to get a closer look at the incoming celebrities. One human tripped over himself and fell into him, pulling back his cloak as he fell on his bum. The human's hand had brushed against Darsh's sword, and he looked up with a wide-eyed stare, jaw hanging in awe. "I-is that a... a real sword?" Darsh cursed under his breath. Several other had picked up on the question and were now looking at him, and he was feeling very uncomfortable. If he didn't do something soon, blood was going to be shed, and that wouldn't be a nice thing. One of the fans pulled back his hood and revealed his face, and suddenly a wail of screams went through the crowd. Apparently, he looked like someone famous. He had to think fast. As the people surged around him and the fangirls screams grew higher in pitch, Darsh pointed toward the red carpet and yelled, "Look! It's Elminster, Chosen of Mystra!" With the crowd momentarily distracted, Darsh extracted himself from the mob and stumbled out onto the red carpet, just in front of the door. He stared down at a pair of giant-sized booted feet. Raising his gaze, he followed the trunk-sized legs up to a behemoth of a body, and looked up into the face of a monster of a doorman holding a clipboard, presumably with a list of names, who flashed a fang-filled smile at him. "I wasn't expecting celebrities from completely different roleplays to be making an appearance so soon," the doorman said, "It's truly an honor! Are you a guest host, or just here for the show?" Darsh blinked, taking a moment to digest what just happened. He decided to just go along with it, and get away from the screaming mobs before he lost his mind and turned them all into snails, or something quieter. "Uh, yea, I'm here to watch. I'm a, uh, big fan." "Ah, excellent. Well, here's your nametag, and your seat number is on the ticket stub. It'll be a while before the ceremony begins, so enjoy the refreshments." Darsh blinked again as he recieved the nametag and ticket stub, then walked inside to join the others. He looked at the nametag before pinning it on his cloak, and almost fell over on his face. The name on it read: Sephiroth. |
| Lolita06-26-05, 11:25 AM | Naki kept to herself for the time being, watching with an amused smile on lips as the crowd grew. |
| Arcuna06-26-05, 02:03 PM | Heimosu and Jake had sat down in one of the back rows. Heimosu had almost immediately reverted to his "human" form, and Jake was now smiling at him almost darkly. You know you enjoyed that. What? Being surrounded by screaming girls, most of whom are probably prepubescent, and all of those annoying reporters with the strange black and silver boxes with dark lenses that shine fast and bright lights at you? And then there are the ones who ask you questions that are really none of their business... Yeah, I enjoyed it a little. ;) It doesn't take a psion to figure that out. Speaking of which, Avernus should be here soon... |
| Beljames06-28-05, 12:29 AM | Suddenly the pressure in the room becomes very dense, as if some temporal dimension is about to open. Suddenly two closed doors open out of no where. One door has a Hourglass emblazed into it, and it appears as if the glass actually has sand dribbling down in it. The other door has a strange symbol on it, a beautiful women with a blindcloth over her eyes, one hand with a burning toarch aloft, the other carying a sword. the woman is within a circle, one half gold the other half ebony black. The doors open, and a blueish mist pours out from between them. beyond the door you see a corridor, with many doors behind it, streaching beyond sight. Within the doorway is a man. Wearing his alien-looking gold-ivory armor, there is only one possiably for who this sudden intruder can be. BelJames De'Coin, father to Ruthia, Discipal of the God Aldur, Guardian of Forever! he steps through the door and says: Ad rach cronos veneemer! and as suddenly as the doors appeared, they vainshed, leaving a cloud of the blue mist billowing out around the Guardian. |
| Darshendros06-28-05, 01:44 AM | Darshendros felt no need to continue the charade, and disposed of the nametag that was given to him. He didn't feel it would serve him any better to be mistakened again for someone else. It was bad enough outside! He wandered around the common area, glancing here and there at the flashily dressed guests, feeling as if every type of person he had seen throughout his life and through all the worlds he had visited had somehow all congregated to this one place. He found the feeling strange, and uncomfortable, cursing under his breath about how the Fates had a vendetta against him and were somehow the cause of his spell going awry and sending him here. He should be looking for a new lair. Brooding on those thoughts, Darsh looked at the ticket stub in his hand with the assigned seat number, and went about looking for it. |
| Malendor...06-28-05, 09:19 PM | "Yes folks it's full fledged craziness here tonight as the last of the Stars begin there approach into the area. Hi again this is Malendor reporting from the red carpet where so far we have seen famous people like Thok; Agudo; Ruthia; Kheldar; Voll; Khaira; Naki; and Darshendros just to name a few of the spectacular entrances we have seen tonight." A loud trumpet call sounds "If I'm not mistaken that is the bugle signling last call for entrances, after this the show will start." Malendor pauses as he looks to the next entrance. "Yes I believe here comes........" ((Scramble in and make your last char entrances if your not already here, Awards Show's about to start......I'll give everyone 2 more days cause I want to do the first award before Friday. Remeber, can't vote for yourself, but all your chars can vote for your favorite!)) |
| Lord Tarran06-28-05, 11:07 PM | Coming through a door near the stage, an icy blue eyed man, with blond hair turning gray, enters the theatre. He is dressed plainly in gray working clothes, made of some indistiguishable cloth, and makes his way up the walkway to the row of Tarranian Characters. Sitting in the seat on the row, High Druid Tarran sits, ignoring the unbelieving looks from his friends. He glances at them once, no hint of trickery or deceit in his eyes, and says simply, I thought you meant to meet here. |
| Khaira06-28-05, 11:37 PM | Khaira smiled and held up her hands as her fans continued to barrage her with questions. She flashed them a dazzling smile that she was so commonly known for and swung around to face some little children that had begun to ask her quesitons. "I've got a special just for you, little ones! I promise, I'll come back to give it to you. But for now..." Her hair swung around once again as mischevious green eyes centered on the auditorium. "Mischief awaits!" With a strange, high soprano note placed to a name, she ran for the entrance and, soon, attempted to catch a familar friend. "Myranthor! Don't be so quick to get in!" Meanwhile... A shimmering, shining portal of pure gray matter seemed to create a rift in the very air for a moment. Within one could see a tall, forbidding figure approaching through the gray mass of magical energy. In only a moments time, Mazithra Amakiir, adorned in a plain white cloak with golden fringes and silver adventuring clothes stepped outside of the portal. In only a moment, the rift itself was gone. Murmurs began to erupt among the crowds; several people whispered about what they had heard about the Githerzai. The Githerzai himself, meanwhile, didn't seem to give a mind, merely steadily walking the distance to the entrance of the auditorium, where he dissapeared inside. A humanoid shaped figure also made his way into the hall as Mazithra dissapeared into the auditorium. He had a hood drawn sharply over his head and almost as soon as he entered, a reporter ran up to him, anxious for the first news on this mysterious figure. Calmly, the hood slid down to reveal half of a face that was acidically burned and the other half of which was flowing crystalline. In a smooth, cool, deathly voice, he spoke in a voice barely above a whisper. "The condition of my body will be angelic compared to what would transpire you if I am asked any questions." Dante Ambrose smiled as the reporter paled and back away; he heard several members of the audience murmuring to themselves. "Geez. What a freak." "Wasn't he the Red Wizard prisoner of war?" "Yeah. Too bad they didn't kill him." "What...?" "The hell's he comin' over here for?" Indeed, the deformed sorceror was coming to the gossipers. He leaned forward, smiling to them and, in the same calm, cool voice, whispered to the gossipers. "Say...if you need something to talk about, I can give you something to talk about." He smiled, his eyes glinting dangerously, holding out his hands, which were now gleaming with energy yearning to be released. Dante was still smirking as he strode through the door, and for once there were no murmuring voices behind him. ((Yes, I know those two characters won't be eligible for the Best Entrance Award. I wanted to give my other characters an entrance too, however.)) |
| Arcuna06-29-05, 03:35 AM | ((Okay, so this was partially inspired by Tarran's post, but I had already been planning to bring this character along.)) A tall man appears out of nowhere and proceeds to walk down the red carpet. Despite the fact that he is walking right down the center of attention as it were, nobody notices him at all. He doesn't show up in a single photo, even though he would inadvertantly be in the center of several of them, under normal conditions. He appears to be humanoid, or a three-dimensional shadow of one, who is dressed in a robe that would shadow his face, if he wasn't already pitch-black. Except he isn't pitch black. Light doesn't interact with him at all. He isn't invisible, either; those who can see him (Heimosu, Jake, and Avernus) can only do so because of an aura he emits. And on another note, he isn't a "he" at all. Nor is he a "she" or an "it". He simply goes by "he" for the sake of mortal comprehension. His body, his entire being, appears to...shift...in and out of existence, or it would, if he could be seen. He takes the seat next to Jake, who, along with Heimosu, immediately gets on the floor and bows. Stumbling for words, Jake makes an attempt to greet his Master. I...this is so unexpected, my Master! Forgive us for not planning ahead; had I known, I can assure-- Rise, Charon, Heimosu. I know that I have arrived unexpected, and I had planned to do so. The shock on your part is much less this way. Please, for this event, I would have you treat me as an equal. I have also brought Avernus along with me. The hooded shadow of a man points up, and Heimosu and Jake see a pyrefly-like orb floating high above them. He wanted an aerial view of the event. <Hey, guys.> Avernus telepathically says to them. <Vox filled me in ahead of time. Oh, and just so that you don't get startled, He requested that we refer to Him as such for the time being.> Despite the fact that Jake had nearly been shouting due to shock, nobody seemed to notice their conversation. Nobody even noticed that the shadowy figure had joined them, or that Jake and Heimosu had been grovelling only seconds before. |
| Myranthor06-29-05, 03:28 PM | I stopped my course baruptly, checking behind me the hear the voice who called for Myranthor, my elven alter ego. Coming closer to me what the leven bardess, Kaaira, who apeared to prefer to call me by my character's identity than by my real name. Didn't she know it? "Khaira!" I let out, revealing my charming, if incomprehensible, accent from the region of Montreal. "Am I so glad to see you! I was simply rushing to get in so I could find someone I know. I had seen you arrive, but then lost sight of you, so I wrongly assumed that you were already in the building." The different comments I could've let blurt out about constant and bothersome camera flashes, admiring fans, shrieking shouts of fandom and the disturbing, exaggerate atmorphere that lay oustide were kept silent, for I knew the bardess enjoyed this chaotic environnment, contrarily to me, who prefferred calm and thoughtful conversations, and hated to be idolized. " So....what are we supposed to do in here? Just sit and wait for the ceremony to start? " |
| Agudo Archmage06-29-05, 04:40 PM | LUCKY http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongluckytemp.gif A grumpy red Wizard came out of the horse drawn coach that had pulled up next to the red carpet Edwin was mumbling something about why he a great Thayen wizard Needed to give a piggyback ride to chirping tipsy Leprechaun But he wasn’t going to blow his chance of winning an award here tonight His enemies had spread a ridicules roomer That he the greatest mage of all! | Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai06-29-05, 05:05 PM | A distorted, buzzing and whistling sound presignifies the arrival of those of Dlaeh's Charactes, who were not nominated, and merely came as viewers: The avance-guarde consists of a handsome drider, of all things - whose silver lining, as well as a few less obvious phisical traits, make him appear uite different from his kind - an a well-tanned halfelf riding his back. The tourquise rastas and the guisarme strapped to his backpack, along with other recognizable symbols, reveal the rider to be a priest and messanger of the Sewrneoughmix cult. Having no current assignments from the Allseeing Judge, Treemmouphindar apparently desided to show his loyalty to the church by accompanying a priest to the awards ceremony, on his own innitiative. Behind Noulminurr, on a royal saddle, sits something you donlt see every day: one of the real Mixy; all short green fur, with seemingly more than one set of forearms, and a facial expression that struggles to remain sofisticated and mischievous, while in reality wfa`Hetehrk is feeling quite out of place, and perhaps rightfully so. To the trio's great convinience, no one is recless enough to try interviewing a drider, or even get close enough to intervoew those who ride one. Soon what was making the noise can be seen: A giant dragonfly sores, its maneuvrability reduced greatly by the weight of several riders, in addition to the one she was used to. While the young black human, with his fiery ginger hair and beard still sits on the front, nearest to the head, it now also has to deal with two gnomes {one quite handsome and well-dressed, and the other ugly, badly shaven, and with a strange brass-and-cloth band around his head}, and an unjustfully omitted divine emissary. Anyone else would be insulted, if standed in Seasutuil's shoes - not theat the old elf was wearing any - but not him: the sharessite keeps smiling peacefully, quite content with his position at the dragonfly's tail, and enjoying its mad virages. Smewhat intoxicated by the great cyclon of emotions around the auditorium they're approaching, Seasutuil misses, insoite of his impressive psionical sences, atleast two thing he would do well to take note of. Ending uo just where the wings connect to the dragonfly's body, Shakta isn't too pleased with the fact he remains completely unseen by, and unaccessible to the reporters, which most others are happy to evade. Striding on the ground, directly below the giant dragonfly, is a magnifiscent horse that seems almost carved out of darkness, and yet his absolute blackness conveys no negative emotions - the stallion is celestial. His armor polished to shining in the sun, and his horns coated in gold, where theyr tips would be in a wilder representative of his species, the minotaur riding him bows and nods to those who recognize him, answeting politely and poetically to every reporter's question. Fortunately for the savage knight, most reporters are occupied with the actual nominees. Seeing Drindin and Krissy stepping inside, Lord Athakus briefly appologizes to the small portion of crowd that's gatered around him, and rushes Bytopimabasd to catch up with his honorable comrades. Little does he know that his mount's neural system is currently being "mellowed" {so it is oblivious to pain and other signs of foreign presence} by the emmantions of a hostile creature holding with its claws to the clestial mount's belly. Zincaller is thus, possibly, the one least accessible to reporters, of all the new arrivals. But when Wngljay's insectoid mount finally lands, the noise most attributed to its wings stops only partially. The reamining noise's source becomes cler, only when a shiny, fully-gadgeted, armored land-rover that appears to also be rigged with firearms to boot pulls by. Dlaeh's non-fantasy characters seem to have invited themselves as well. First comes out a large, black man, disturbingly similar to Tyr Anasazi. Clad in heavy lether pants {that might be hiding protective metal plates}, and a long overcoat revealing his light-tattoed torso, Rab folds his arms on his chest, and smirks at the array of fantasy characters entering the building. Soon after him, a young teenage boy in a grey cloak slides out of the vehickle; One seems to forget about the boy's existance a moment or two after seeing him. Lot's needlegun is well hidden as well, so the only thing with a chance to atract any attention is the small sleeping bat hanging by its little claws from the teenager's cloak's hood. Nothing reveals this little bat as Gil'ad Ymilahav, one of the oldest vampires in eurasia. Lot and Rab both offer theyr hands, to help an old lady step out of the car. Dressed in a victorian-styled dress, grey hair tightly pinned over her head, Arcadia's stern face turns around, examining the surrounding, till she emmits an aproving "Hm.", and nods briefly. Finally, always the careful couple, Amos and and Hila Bargurari leave the landrrover, with the black girl quickly proceeding to climb her subordinee's shoulders to see better above the crowd's heads. Ruakh-krrav Amok, Shraga, and Nathan Doe were probably taken out of theyr misery at some point. Neither of the three seems to be in the vehicle or anywhere near it. |
| Dandrie Swift06-29-05, 05:48 PM | "Yes folks it's full fledged craziness here tonight as the last of the Stars begin there approach into the area. "Yes I believe here comes........" "Aack! Spectactular entrances?!" Taking a step back clutching his heart as if a dagger was driven into it. Dandrie consumed with feelings of boredom, had decided to take a walk to the red carpet to see what excitement was being stirred up, heard a certain announcer comment on tonights entrance's. "He didn't even mention that impossibly handsome stranger that showed up on the stage. Providing what those other useless bravos had not. Excitement! Suspense! C'mon!? I even left my name on the podium, that alone is worth mentioning. Although he IS working the red carpet. Poor fellow, he's probably underpayed, underappreciated, uninformed, unintelligent." That last thought brought a smirk to his face. "I have half a nerve to inform him my self!" A loud trumpet calls. Well maybe later, if I don't hear my name from so much as a rent-a-cop, I'll be one mad almost-celebrity. Slipping into the shadows he made his way for his seat once again. His ears listening keenly for anything that even vaguely resembled his name. |
| Darshendros06-29-05, 09:20 PM | Malendor pauses as he looks to the next entrance. "Yes I believe here comes........" (I should've done this first, but I forgot about my favorite entrance 'til just now. >.<; Oh well. That's why I have more than one character. XD) Crowds parted as the roar of motorcycle engines revvings filled the air, drowning out all other sounds. Turning in from the streets they filed down the red carpet, creeping along in their sputtering, custom-designed hogs. It was an entire biker gang, thirteen in total, all riding bikes designed in one way or another to represent a dragon, whether it was an entire frame or just an airbrushed design over the tank. The backs of their leather jackets had their name for all to see, scripted in Old English with a red oriental-styled dragon coiled around the words: The Dragon Riders. The lead bike, which looked to be the biggest bike of them all, had a rider that seemed a bit too small to be riding it. The dark visor to his helmet was pulled down, hiding his features, but the skin on his arms were black as night. He was lean, with a toned build, and seemed to be extending his arms to their limits just to grasp the handlebars from where he sat. The riders pulled up to a stop in front of the main doors, revving their engines to the joy of the crowd. The small leader climbed off of his bike and pulled off his helmet, revealing to all the face of a dark elf. His stark white hair was cropped short and close to his head, and he had a scar over his left eye, which seemed to give off a faint glow as he cast his blood red gaze about. He walked up to the entrance and tossed his helmet to the figure that was coming out. * * * Darshendros heard them a mile away. As his biker crew lined up along the red carpet, making their presence well known probably throughout the whole city, Darshendros was stepping out to meet and greet them. He caught the helmet that Chaszmyr had tossed to him, chuckling as he watched the scowling drow stalk inside the building past him. He faced his boys and made a cutting gesture across his neck with his hand, and all at once the engines cut off and the rest of the bikers climbed off their hogs. "Seats for everyone, boys," Darshendros said, "and more than enough booze! Don't go trashing the place though, this is supposed to be some awards ceremony. If you're lucky, you might bag a celebrity chick or two!" The bikers gave a roar of approval, pumping their leather-clad fists in the air, before filing into the building past Darshendros to take their fair share of refreshments. They were mostly human, with a few half-dragons and other crossbreeds among them, thickly built and all attitude. Ages ranged from young adult to elderly, but the latter still had the spirit of youth inside of them. Darshendros casted a quick spell upon the hogs that would alert him to anyone attempting to steal them, before walking back inside. |
| ruthia07-07-05, 10:10 PM | As the last of the crowd gathered within, Star Bright waits nervosly back stage ajust the hem on her new emrald green dress Malendor had bought her for this occasion. With a glance behind her she was given the all set signal from the stage manager. In a deep voice he speaks into his mic. "Ladies and Gentleman please put your hands together for tonights award show host, Star Bright of Pern!" Loud appluase starts as Star walks onto the stage from behind the certain. She waves and smiles at everyone as she makes her way to the podium. With a neverous cough she starts her well rehearsed lines. "Thank you Thank you, and welcome everyone to the first every Map of the Planes Awards! Tonight we are going to start off with the Player Awards! Here to present the first award is a "player" of her own games, Elvina!" Elvina, dressed in a low cut wine red dress, walks onto the stage hold a shiny, gold, foot high award that is in the shape of a pedistal with a map on it. The audiance can see this because the camars zoomed in on it as she walked to the podium, enlarging her on the big screen behind the podium. Once there she hugs Star, who prometly leaves the stage, and places the awards on the podium. Smiling she states "Hello. Tonight I have the pleasure of handing out the first every Map award. The Catergory is Best Newbie of 2004. And the nominies are.." The big screen flashes to a picture of a map and the words Best Newbie of 2004 flash acrossed it. The announcers voice comes on saying "Taeldrin Laerash. Master of Flames. Lightman" The map on the screen folds up and the camaras focus back on Elvina who is now holding an envelope in her hand. She starts opening the envelope as she says. "And the winner is...." She opens the envelope all the way, reads the name, and shouts out.. "Taeldrin Laerash!" She starts clapping along with the rest of the audiance... ((If you would like to come up and accept your award, make a little speech, ect... You may do so :D I cater to egos :P )) |
| Taeldrin Laesrash07-07-05, 11:04 PM | Once again, I have no.....Huh? Kito stops in mid-phrase as a flask of light originates behind him. The light forms into a boy of about 13 years of age, wearing a dust-colored t-shirt and black khaki pants. He steps up to the platform to take the award. " I am Taedrin Laesrash. Thank you, thank you. Lookin' good, everyone. Now, before I take this award *sniff*, I want to say something: You all still are great. You guys find vast hordes of treasure, slay hellborn abominations, and explore many worlds in fantatic vehicles. I, on the other hand, found a dollar in my pocket yesterday, kill spiders in my bathtub, and ride to school in a white Denali. You guys (And girls, and things) all rock, even though I won an award (Hee hee). In short, thanks for making this possible.. All your base are belong to us." In another flash of light, Taeldrin splits into dozens of tiny beams of prismatic energy, and flies off. |
| Star Bright07-08-05, 09:11 PM | As the audiance claps loudly for the boy and exchange excited whispers about what's to come next, Star reappears on stage Carrying the next award map statuett. "Yes folks, congradualations to Taeldrin for not only taking the first award of he night, but for also proving that short speeches are just as fun as long ones. And now I have the honor of presenting the next award. The award for Best returning Player! And the nominees are: " The screen flashes the words BEST RETURNING PLAYER! then flashes two words Lolita; Rom Once again the map on the screen folds and the image changes to Star holding the envelope with the name in it. "And the winner is...." She opens the envelope and reads the name out loud "Lolita!" |
| firelizard Brad07-18-05, 11:48 AM | After Lolita accepted her award and the aplause died down again, the people in the front notice a small dragon like creature standing ON the podium next to an envelope and a award. He is bronze in color and standing on his hind legs he can barely see over the mirophone in front of him! The few who have meet him know him as Brad the Firelizard, one of Ruthia's friends from Pern. Though why he would be on stage is a mystory as he can't speak out loud, at least as far as anyone has ever heard. When the small guy clears his throat and starts speaking in a clear, yet high pitched little voice it comes as a shock to more then one person. "Hello, My name is Brad and I've been asked to present the next award. This award goes to a Player who is without a doubt, the best at what he/she does. The catergory is Most Helpfuly Player and the nominees are...." The Screen does it's nice flashy thing the shows a map unfolding with the words on it MOST HELPFUL PLAYER The map folds out some more to reveal Eidrog; Khaira; Ruthia The map folds back up as the camera zooms back in on Brad who has torn open the envelope. " And the winner is..." He reads the card "EIDROG!" |
| Lolita07-18-05, 12:04 PM | Lolita smirks to herself. "I'm glad I returned here." |

I'm very grateful to have wondered into these boards a year or two ago and to have met so many great and wonderful people! I can remember when I first got here I was a completely ignorant, arrogant, little snert who was convinced my assassin character was better than everyone else's! The first thread I joined was one in the Cross Roads Tavern where I promptly made enemies with a demonic character and killed him as an ultimate display of my character's superiority over all others. I know Gene Kynes read that thread, but I don't know if anyone else here today has. Something really strange happened right after that event. I thought. . . What the heck did I just do?!? How would I like it if someone presented his epic level character to one of my characters and murdered him? This can't be right! So I apologized to the player of the character who I had killed. . . Which wasn't a particularly easy thing to do since we had both become quite good enemies during the whole ordeal. . . we had let events on the boards get pretty personal. I'm thankful that neither I nor him knew anything about freedom of destiny, otherwise I most likely would have been chewed apart for breaking it - which is unfortunately quite a common trend when a new player breaks FoD on these boards. Being chewed apart sucks. . . especially when the offender doesn't realize he's even done something wrong. . . that's why I become angry very quickly when I see a new player being discriminated against for doing something wrong. I was once that new player! WizO Reesa really said it best one time when she encouraged everyone to try and help each other out on these boards. No, we don't get paid for it like she did, but this is our community and every one of us should be proud to make it as happy and enjoyable a place as we possibly can. I enjoyed helping out and stayed motivated because there are so many talented and good people here - and everyone here deserves a nice place to roleplay and have fun in. (Ah ha! And I've even been mistaken for a WizO a few times!) :embarrass Every player deserves to be respected (hence why I dislike "respect lists" so much), In character and out of character should be clearly identifiable so the two don't get mixed up (which can often lead to hurt), and above all, everyone should have fun and make sure everyone else around them is having fun." Eidrog wipes at the tired bags under his eyes. "My apologies of this is all as incoherent as it sounds to me. . . I miss all you guys! Everyone take care and have fun!" - Eidrog :) |
| Taeldrin Laesrash07-24-05, 10:08 AM | Wow. And I thought Assimar were arrogant. |
| Kathryn_aka_Kat07-24-05, 10:17 AM | Kat chuckles at the amount of pomp and fanfare surrounding Eidrog's (aka "Prince Gordie"'s) acceptance speech but applauds as loudly as the others in the audience at the end. She picks up the camera again to hide behind it, even taking a few shots. In fact, fairly good shots of the various celebrities as she slips silently through the crowd. |
| Semon07-24-05, 08:48 PM | Star Bright reappears on stage, clapping with the rest of the audiance. "Here to announce our next award of the night is Semon." On stage walks what appears to be a were wolf, complete with wolf tail and black fur. He carries the next Mappy (( :P )) Award and the envealope. Apon reaching the podium he says in a clear voice. "I've been asked tonight to present The Award for Best Avatar for the Character. And the nominees are..." The Screen does it's nice flashy thing the shows a map unfolding with the words on it BEST AVATAR FOR THE CHARACTER The map folds out some more to reveal Leetah; Kheldar; Pipers Youth; Agudo; Luika; Booger Lips The map folds back up as the camera zooms back in on Semon who has opened the envelope. " And the winner is..." He reads the card "Pipers Youth!" |
| Drindin07-30-05, 01:28 AM | Drindin and Krissy simply smile at Athakus, both slightly recoiling from the presence of the Celestial mount. "Nice to see you." They say in an eerie unison, as they watch the proceedings. |
| Pipers Youth07-30-05, 12:42 PM | "I say, as Shar is a dark lass! Don't dare to tell me make way. Who do you think you are!" Was the words as a very irritable Red Wizard was shoved off the carpet and into a rather jovial fat merchant of Cormyr, on his way to his seat. "Get off me you fat idiot dolt!" The answer to this was firm hand pushing him aside, along with the words. Bite your tongue till it bleeds. With the most disdainful of looks, the Red Wizard finally sat down and blew off some steam. "Pipers Youth!" Swallowing down his aggression, Piper made way to the stage, and asserted himself behind the podium. "Good Evening gentlesirs, and goodwives! On behalf of Thay, and with the highest gratitude, I accept this award. Though, I daresay the real credit should be awarded to the artist, Sir Gordan Quigley, who I believe was here earlier. All I contributed was a fertile imagination, and money, and he did the rest. I hope everyone enjoys the festivities that are hostess, Lady Ruthia has in store for us throughout the night." Cleaning away his false grin, Piper clambered back down the stage, searching for the nearest goblet of wine to drown himself in. |
| Rapheal08-01-05, 02:22 PM | Semon is still standng onstage when Piper walks off, and he seems to be ingaged in conversation with a shadow backstage. After what appears to be a lot of arguement Semon drags another were wolf onstage, an almost perfect copy of himself except this ones fur is red not black. After he finishes pulling the other to the mic, the one in red has the next Mappy and envelope, Semon says "This is my twin Rapheal. He's been asked to hand out the next award." Rapheal grumbles a bit then says as Semon walks off. "Well yes. I guess I'm here to present the award for Most Indepth Character Personality. The nominees are The Screen does a tie die flashy thing this time then shows a map unfolding with the words on it Most Indepth Character Personality The map folds out some more to reveal Lady Hoot; Kheldar; Gene; Luika; Myranthor; Khaira; Agudo The map folds back up as the camera zooms back in on Rapheal who has opened the envelope. " And the winner is..." He reads the card "LUIKA!" |
| Luika08-02-05, 12:24 PM | I made a few steps toward the stage, swooping under the massive legs of impressive giants, cautiously circling around vicious demons and multiplying respectfuls bows to charming and whimsical, gorgeous nymphs and dryads. After having traveled through all this bizarre menagerie, I reched the microphone, wondering of what I should alk to fill this awkward and uncoomfortable moment. "Ladies, Lords and monsters, as well as all the others I'll respectfully but efficiently refer to as "stuff made of matter", thank you. Luika wouldn't come here today, because, first of all, all of those here are not among his dearest friends and, secondly, he doesn,t very much care about that kind of recognizance. I remember telling him about his nomination, and he could only mumble, arrogantly, something along the lines of "No wonder they think I have an in-depth personnality, when athe greatest level of complexity their pathetic mindwrecks could ever attain was to give their lives a fallacious, empty meaning to delude themselves from the sheer hypocrisy inw hich they constantly delve even deeper, day after day." Needless to say, I hanged up the phone on him right now, or he would've me throw myself from a cliff on that very night. However, I must say that I am personnally extremely pleased by this award. It is one of the most important awards in my eyes, since I have both an interest in litterature and psychology. Conveying the latter with the former is, to me, a great experience, and here I can see that I managed to do it succesfully. Creating the outlook of a character, his personal philosophy and his past, and making all of these components of his self coincide and work conjointlya re a great experience, and a tool for introspection, as well. Have a grand night" And with these words, I came back to my seat, next to lady Khaira Amastacia. |
| ruthia08-08-05, 08:50 PM | Dressed in a flowing white gown that the light from the spot light seems to set sparkling like a thousands diamonds, Ruthia walks on stage with the next Mappy and envelope. With a smiles to everyone she says. "Hello, some of you know me and some don't. My names is Ruthia and I have personally asked to present the next award. Most Indepth Character Background is an award to recognize thse of us who have tried hard to make the character stand out and achived this dream..." The Screen does a white flash this time then shows a map unfolding with the words on it Most Indepth Character Background The map folds out some more to reveal Lord Tarren; Myranthor; Leetah; Kheldar; Agudo; Khaira; Lolita; Leetah The map folds back up as the camera zooms back in on Ruthia who is opening the envelope. " And the winner is..." She reads the card and smiles "KHELDAR!" |
| Kathryn_aka_Kat08-09-05, 12:10 PM | Her lips curve into a wide smile though one well hidden behind the body of the camera. She keeps it close to her face as she searches through the viewfinder to find the recipient of the award, trying for a couple of quick candid pictures as he goes up through the cheering audience. |
| Khaira08-09-05, 08:24 PM | Khaira smiled cunningly, clapping with the rest of the audience as Kheldar's name was read off as having won the Most Indepth Personality award. He was an indepth figure, without a doubt - he was definitely a hard individual to figure out. He did what he needed to do in order to survive, doing so with an almost cold duty of finishing his task...even if that task was the assassination of a friend that he couldn't seem to remember. Her smiled faded into a reminiscient memory as she recalled that Kheldar, too, wasn't altogether that different from herself. Kheldar was a survivor and and individualist, first and last. yet, some of his actions spoke otherwise; he was deep and mysterious like that. While, granted, her opinions of the sneaky man were somewhat biased, considering her previous interactions with the man, the usually unreadable bardess felt her smile grow back to match the swelling of pride she felt. "Whooooo Kheldar!" |
| Kheldar08-10-05, 02:44 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongkheldar.gif With a delighted grin upon his face the thief turned assassin Kheldar steps out from the applauding "stuff made of matter" and goes to the stage. "Thank you Ruthia." Kheldar happily accepts his award and steps up to the mic, giving his trophy a quick appraisal. ". . . I wonder how much this is worth?" Life hadn't been as luxurious as Kheldar liked as of late. What, with Agudo confiscating his property and taking all his wealth to fill the coffers of the School of Light and Magic, he found himself working much more often than usual to try to build up his funds. While gold might not be everything, it was still good enough for him to want more. Kheldar blinked at the microphone right in front of him. . . He hadn't spoken that last part about the trophy's worth close enough for everyone to hear, had he? Judging from some of the appalled faces. . . he had. "Ahem-* What I mean to say is this award is worth a lot to me. . ." Kheldar held it up a bit higher. ". . . Although it feels is a bit odd accepting an award for just experiencing life the way it unfolded around me. . . My past. . . excluding a few exceptions. . . is not something I'm particularly proud of. . . Hmmm." Kheldar scratched his head with his free hand. "Come to think of it, I can't remember ever sharing my past with anyone. . ." Kheldar looked at his award with a puzzled expression. "I'm wondering how I got nominated for this award. . . never mind how I won it." Kheldar shrugged it wasn't like him to openly brood over his past. His look of concern was immediately masked by his usual happy, care-free expression. "Thank you! Good luck to everyone, I look forward to seeing who else'll make an appearance up here on stage tonight!" Artwork copyright © 2005, Gordon R. Quigley |
| Arshes08-11-05, 09:07 PM | Arshes waited patiently for the winner of the best psionic character award was. |
| ruthia08-12-05, 10:16 AM | Clapping with the crowd, Ruthia stays onstage mumering to a stage hand who has come out carrying the next award. The Audiance closest to her can hear her say "What do you mean no one wants to present this award? What's wrong with it?" The stage hand mumers a bit more, Ruthia goes pale then says.... "Well It's your lucky day then, You present it!" With that Ruthia runs off Stage, leaving the stage hand looking shocked. Slowly this girl walks to the podium carrying the Mappy and envelope. As she gets closer you can see she has waist lenght brown hair, she's around five foot in hieght, and on the "Chunky" side as people call it. She's dressed in jeans and a tee-shirt and looks completely out of place onstage.... "*Ahem* Hello. My names Gina and I've been told to hand out the next award." She looks at the screen, which at first does nothing as if it too was reluctant to do this award. But then it starts to work, doing a dark flash burst and then the map unfolding to read... Biggest God Moder It then unfolds again, even faster to reveal the nomines TURALISJ; Lord Tarren; Aravilar Holistacia; Finwe; Malik21 It then folds up and dissappears. The camaras point at Gina as she struggles to open the envelope while mumering to herself "Please let him not be here please let him not be here please let him not be here....". She opens it and says "The Winner is." Looks down "TURALISJ" Gina looks around and a note is quickly handed to her. She seems releaved. "Seems he's not here, so we're going to mail the award to him. And I get to present the next one now to." With a smile she reads out "This next award is for Best Player of 2004. And the nominees are.." The screen happily does it's nice bright flashy thing and the map cheerfully unfolds to read Best Player of 2004 It unfolds more and reads the Nominees Arcuna; Chris Quigley; Gord Quigley; Myranthor; Ruthia; Agudo; Khaira; Quathmoir The map refolds and reveals Gina standing there looking at the envelope. "And the winner is" She opens it and reads "Arcuna!" |
| Arcuna08-12-05, 02:46 PM | Heimosu looks confused at first, wondering if he is supposed to go up to accept the award. Just then, the doors open and several people walk in, led by a child no older than sixteen. They all sit down, except for the child and the man behind him, who has long white hair, what appears to be extremely futuristic leather armor, and two smaller versions of what dwarves call "blunderbusses". As the two of them walk down the center isle, the child nods at Heimosu, who then gets out of his seat and proceeds to walk down the center isle with them. When they reach the stage, the excited teenager accepts his award and shakes Gina's hand. With Heimosu and the other man on either side of him, Arcuna approaches the microphone. "Thank you," he starts out, appearing to have his nervousness under control. "Er, it just occurred to me that I have no speech planned. However, I would like to thank my two star characters, Heimosu Steiner and Lance Starwind. I know that none of you have ever met Lance, but he has helped me hone my roleplaying skills as much as Heimosu has, if not more." Arcuna suddenly stops, as if some grave piece of information has suddenly dawned on them. Quickly, he adds, "Now, if only roleplaying could mow the lawn. Sorry, guys, I'd love to stick around, but I have to go. Thank you again, and have a great night!" Arcuna nods at Lance, who places both hands on his shoulders. Arcuna begins to glow with an intense white light, and then a second later, is gone. As Lance and Heimosu walk off the stage, they shake hands and introduce themselves to each other, appearing to have never met until now. |
| Kheldar08-12-05, 06:03 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongkheldar.gif A wide, satisfied grin spreads across Kheldar's face as he and the rest of the audience audibly applaud both Arcuna and Gina. Thank the gods Arcuna was the most deserving of the award. . . Had someone else won it, Kheldar was positive he'd have never heard the end of it! Artwork copyright © 2005, Gordon R. Quigley |
| Taeldrin Laesrash08-12-05, 06:29 PM | Kito isn't sure where this Arcune came from (Much like how he was struck dumb by the Taeldrin Laesrash kid), but if he's behind his friend Heimosu. he has to be good news. He claps. Go Arcuna! |
| Drindin08-12-05, 11:02 PM | Drindin sighs and claps, as does his neice and brother, who suddenly appeared during the points inbetween awards. "I wonder when the awards I'm up for will be presented." Krissy smirks. "Don't you mean the one that we're up for?" Drindin blinks, but shows no emotion. "That's what I meant." Shades shakes his head. "Oh brother of mine..." "Yes?" Drindin says, looking over. "Nothing." Algared is also suddenly there. Apparently he was there for some time, but no one simply noticed. "How exactly did I get included in the arward that I'm up for with your family anyways, Shades? I'm not related to you... am I?" Shades shrugs. "I have no clue." Rodney the gnome pops up from under an empty seat, after sneaking in quietly. "Hey, what I miss?" He asks quietly. "Not much. Just some awards." Krissy whispers back. |
| Beth08-12-05, 11:43 PM | Walking onstage now is a small woman with bright green hair wearing a dark green dress. It is pretty clear she is the next presentor. Walking rather shakily she stops at the podium, clears her throat with a tiny *Ahem* and says "Hello. I am Beth and tonight I have been asked to Present the award for Best Dming pair of 2004. And our nominees are...." Pretty Green Flash! And the map unfolds to say Best Dming pair of 2004 Unfolding more it says the nominees are Pipers Youth and Khaira; Agudo and Ruthia; Agudo and Messianica It folds back up and dissappears with a green flash as the camaras focus back on Beth. She stands nervously holding the envelope. With a gulp she says "And the winners are..." It takes her a moment to open the envelope as her hands shake. "AGUDO AND RUTHIA!" |
| Lord Tarran08-13-05, 12:19 AM | The Tarranite characters all clap politely as Turalisj won his award (more than a few thanking whatever gods were listening for not handing it to Tarran), clapped wildly while jumping to their feet for Arcuna, and then sitting down to politely clap for Ruthia and Agudo. |
| Arshes08-13-05, 02:33 AM | Arshes's eye began to droop as he waited for the award for best psionic character. |
| Leetah08-14-05, 08:07 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongleetah.gif Poking her head out from behind a door near the back stage, Leetah briskly made her way from where Eidrog's menagerie was being kept to where everyone else in the audience was already seated. If she was lucky, perhaps there'd still be an available seat for her beside some of her friends. If she was really lucky, perhaps she'd find a seat beside. . .*Blush*. . .Kheldar. As Leetah drew closer, it appeared that she had the gods' blessings after all! Right next to Kheldar was an available seat! Joy surged through the young priestess as she eagerly climbed up the stairs to get to the proper row. After being forced to sing in Eidrog's ascension parade, it looked like her luck was finally starting to change! Leetah couldn't be more happy! http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portvoll.gif "I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!" Carring a large tub of popcorn, two giant drinks, six bags of licorish, a tray with two orders of nachos and cheese, and a souvenir T-shirt that read: "I Survived, the First Annual Map of the Planes Awards," Voll returned from the concession stand and planted himself right next to Kheldar, passing him one of the drinks and an order of nachos. Standing just three seats away from the spot that Voll had just returned to, Leetah looked like she was about to cry. Feeling dejected, the young priestess slowly withdrew from Kheldar's row and continued to climb up the stairs, looking for the next group of familiar faces with an available seat beside them. |

Hmmm if he thinks I running up there and making a scene....well...no!...I wont let him trick me......ill get him soon enough ” Agudo wasn’t sure how to feel that Kheldar was trying to sale his front teeth that he knocked out in there last fight on E-bay for 5000 gold...he was mad yet happy at the thought of his fans paying so much :dancin: As Agudo was musing deep in thought he suddenly heard the words he been waiting for Best Dming pair of 2004 "AGUDO AND RUTHIA!" | Pipers Youth08-15-05, 06:49 PM | Piper raised his goblet to his nose scrutinizing, took a deep whiff, sloshed it around a bit, and finally raised it to his lips. Taking a sip, he frowned," Is this chilled, emerald-hued mint wine? Begads this is dreadful, and bitter! Don't they have any good Eastern brew?" As the next awarded was called out, Piper glared across the wide expanse of seats to try to pick out where that flaunty blue hat was. The fool would probably make a flashy entrance. "Where is he.......Sembia's Dancing Ladies! Who dares!" Liquor spilled on his robes as Piper fumbled clumsily with his goblet, and a booted shoe kicked off his head,in mid leap. It wasn't until he looked overhead did he see Agudo leaping in the air, with a playful smile on his face. "That's it archmage! Die!" Piper said, jumping up, little bits of nachos falling from his hair. He pointed at Agudo still fling overhead, and uttered a single word. A dazzling ray of green energy leapt from the tip of his finger seeking to completely obliterate anything in it's path. Piper flashed an amused grin of triumph as his spell was about to strike......... Instead it missed him by a hair, reaching out to the balcony box seats to strike an unfortunate noble. The man was instantly disintegrated as bones turned to dust, and were scattered in his seat. The response was every unseemly curse the Red Wizard could shout. |
| ruthia08-15-05, 08:44 PM | Ruthia doesn't come onstage, instead the short brown haired stage hand who announced one of the awards appears looking rather embarresed. Blushing she looks at Agudo and then the audince, but before she can say anything a shower of bone dust lands onstage. Startled she looks up as some lady starts screaming murder and pointing at Pipers Youth. So instead of having to make a speech she takes the trophy and runs back into hiding behind the sceens ;) . |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai08-15-05, 09:09 PM | Trying to follow the orders of that anachronistic individual lingering comfortably between his third arm and his hypothalmus, Thok the Random walks in strange patterns, finding-through-loss his way to Khaira and Myranthor. It's been a whle since he lost track of Chanting Mistery, and hoped - though that hope wasn't his own per ce - that the lynxwere elf has found his colleague, rather than schisoidly enclosing himself within the circle of his makeshift band, composed of people plaied by Dlaeh's legendary "offline" friends. The term "Offline" always intrigued the orc, since it hinted on the denial of some accepted lane or border, and as such seemed to fit within Thok's own field of study and practice. Doing something "offline" would definately open the wildmage an archway towards yet unimaginable accomplishments for Leira's greater obscure and esoteric glory. He even had the one now residing in the comfort of his five-dimensional organism speak on his behalf "offline", and these words spoken by him indirectly in this state seemed to bring curious, if small, results for him. "Ting lose much Thok" - he murmured to the one within, while passing a balcony - "Bet bard go lynx, not look much Khaira. Max know any Thok? Thok try find much Max." Spotting a nobleman with the telltale hairdo of a person who knows where almost two elven bards and a human boy from a futuristic world are at the hour of his sighting, Thok approaches him, and lays a hand on his shoulder to draw his attntion: "I beg your pardon, messir, but could you perchance direct me towards the speaker who appeared on Luika's behalf? I bear a friend of his, and both would be displeased if i were to fail arranging theyr meeting today..." Thok was about to finish with another piece of helpful explanation, but the shoulder under his hand, as well as the body once inclueding it, along with all that have been in contact with said body for more than a minute loses its substantiality, and is reduced to a tiny pile of fine particles on the floor. Judging by the dust's color, arrangement and shape, a fair assumption would have it that these are the leftovers oh that poor nobleman's rougher, less convertible layers of soul. Leaving his familiar to figure more exactly what it is, Thok slipped away, trying to hide the fact that he's purposefully gaining distance from the unnoticed death's spot. Unnoticed it may have been for now, but who knows! Besides, even he himself wasn't completely sure that the asking of a favor from the man didn't coincidentally work as a disintegration spell... |

Ruhia Ruthia doesn't come onstage, instead the short brown haired stage hand who announced one of the awards appears looking rather embarresed. Blushing she looks at Agudo and then the audince, but before she can say anything a shower of bone dust lands onstage. Startled she looks up as some lady starts screaming murder and pointing at Pipers Youth. So instead of having to make a speech she takes the trophy and runs back into hiding behind the sceens . With the resounding magical zap caused by Piper’s drunken display of power. Was only a minor distraction to Agudo joyous mood. But the blue words used by Piper were enough to make a intoxicated Gnomish Sailor blush Agudo put down his award for just a moment to wag his finger at his former Employee When a sneaky thief/announcer grabs hold of the award Agudo looks at the fast retreating girl and then back at Piper. With a quick word to the audience he says Ladies and Gentleman my apologies for the drunken behavior of Piper’s Youth But what do expect from a Red Wizard Yet from the corner of his eye he could see the brown haired girl getting away Biting his lip Agudo taped his fingers then as he couldn’t take it any more he yelled out Come back with my AWARD!......iiiiitttsss MINE allllllll miiiiiinneeeee” The Archmage of Light ran back stage with those words fading in the background |
| Lioth08-17-05, 09:36 PM | Grumbling as he walks onstage, Lioth appears with the next award. Looking grumpily out at the audieance he says in a huff. "They asked me to do this next arward. Though why they would waste MY talents on an award as low as this I have no clue. I should be handing out awards to GREATS, not minor awards to nobodies." With that he flips the screen off as it does it's flash map thing. Best Map of the Planes Artist: And the nominees are Eidrog; Poison Blade; Leenaria the Pixie; Melynxt; The map folds. Lioth rips the envelope open and states "WHo the heck is Eidrog? Nver heard of him, but this nobody managed to win this award..." He walks off mumbling about getting his lawyer to look into harrassment charges against Ruthia for bullying him into this. ((The views expressed in this post are those of the character, not the player. You guys ROCK!)) |

The man was instantly disintegrated as bones turned to dust, and were scattered in his seat. The response was every unseemly curse the Red Wizard could shout. Khaira looked up, looking excited from where she had fallen half-asleep as those words rang out. "Hm...a celebrity duel already?" Khaira watched, with amazement and shock, as the very beam aimed at Agudo struck a noble high up in the balcony who was, at the time, speaking to Thok. Her eyebrows quirked up as the man's dust remains floated softly, gently to the floor. "Well, at least this night won't be without excitement..." http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/motpawardseidrog.gif RAWR! ME BEST ARTIST!! ME THE BEST! He seems to listen to something then says "It says winner is Ruthia! Who's Ruthia mommy?" The boy seems to listen again then looks at the crowd surprised. "Mommy said Never mind Jacob, just do next one. So next one is Greatest Cast of Diverse Characters. Whats a character mommy?" Jacob listens to whatever he's listening to whatevers talking to him as the screen unfolds to say Greatest Cast of Diverse Characters It unfolds more and says the nominees are Ruthia; Lord Tarren; Myranthor; Agudo; Drindin; Khaira; PoisonBlade; Eidrog; Quathmoir Jacob giggles really loud as the map folds back up and says "Winner RUthia again, though mommy no tell me who Ruthia is!" Suddenly from back stage that small brown haired woman appears and picks up Jacob and the first three awards. Jacob headset falls of as he calls out while waving bye to everyone "BYE BYE!" | Kheldar08-22-05, 03:13 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongkheldar.gif Kheldar laughed with delight when an old woman's voice from the crowd spoke out against Eidrog's ego. What a wonderful thing to say! He continued to chomp away at his nachos and cheese as a small boy announced the latest development. Ruthia had done well for herself. Nabbing both best DM and Greatest cast of diverse characters. Kheldar looked over to Lord Terran, knowing that the latter of the two categories had been very close between him and Ruthia. Come to think of it, How had Agudo responded to this latest development? Ruthia had just taken home the DM award! And while that was too bad for both Pipers Youth and Khaira, Kheldar knew Agudo's reaction would be the best one to watch! Artwork copyright © 2005, Gordon R. Quigley |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai08-22-05, 11:42 AM | Three seats in the seventh row, and the three just behind them are occupied by those who came out of the armored landrover earlier: Dlaeh's "Modern" characters. Arcadia sits between Amos and Hila, to ensure that no indecensy takes place {and no, the "But aund Effie, we gotta discuss secret Mosad stuff!" argument didn't work this time either}. If it wasn't for her moral dutey, she'd rather sit with the gallant and well-mannered gentleman who resumed his human shape when they entered the building {watching the ceremony upside-down didn't agree with Gil'ad, and only that made him switch back from a bat's form}, and was now sitting with his back to Hila. When the Greatest Cast of Dyverse Characters award was declared, all six of them couldn't help but respond in evverything from a light chuckles to a burst of mad loughter... although Arcadia tried to conceal her chuckle behind a frown over the little boy's tasteless and inadequate appearance. Rab: "Wha?!" Gil'ad: "Yees, i must admit that eeven I didn't quite expeect thaat." Rab: "Uh mean..." Lot: "Haha! Eh, i'm telling you folks, now Dlaeh's gon' want one of us to steal it." Rab: "S'like - what da fizzle, man?!" Hila: "Steal it before, or after we all get moaned at for not being dyverse enough?" Rab: "Yo dis here juss crazy, knowa'msayin..." Amos: "We? Moaned at? If we lack in dyversity, that's solely his... omition." Gil'ad: "And yoou, i waager, will teell him soo?" Arcadia: "This is no joking matter, all of you. If someone practices even more of this... "dyversity", just think what abominable proximities this may well involve! Even in Dlaeh's cast we must suffer the presence of such as... as...Well, such as this abominable Zincaller person, for isntance! Would any of you even have the strength to assume what neightbors a godfearing character must endure in the cast of this young lady Ruthia, if hers is deemed even more dyverse?" Amos: "Hr-rmm, aunt Effie has a point..." Lot: *cough* "...not." *cough* |
| Khaira08-23-05, 02:00 AM | Khaira clapped and cheered enthusiastically as Ruthia took away not one, but two consecutive awards. Even Myranthor, the arcane master and a former student of hers took an award for Superb Writer. This, she thought, was fitting since the superbly intelligent one that was Myranthor always spoke in such a elaborate, intricate manner. The bard was, however, somewhat sad that Gene wasn't here to take his award in person. Of course, this was mostly personal feelings, since the bardess wanted to see the mysterious figure that was Gene Kynes again. Even so, she was happy for Ruthia and Myranthor, to be able to take away such highly esteemed awards. This, too, was self-evident as Khaira let out a shrill whistle, her emerald green eyes a merry twinkle as she cheered for the both of them. "Whoo! Go Ruthia! Go Myranthor! Y'all rock!" |

| ruthia08-23-05, 10:40 AM | A camara snaps pictures away from backstage and then the front row as Agudo looses cool not just once, but FIVE times. Laughing histarically as she snaps the picture Ruthia can be heard mumbling to herself. "I see the headlines now. Archmage beats girl senseless over award. Award show feasco, Archmage of Light attacks small boy for not announcing his name. Lady Hoot protects innocents by chocking Archmage into silence." Ruthia giggles and snaps another picture. "Oh the tabliods are going to pay good for these, they been waiting for another good shot since the one I caught of him running naked down a town street!" SUddenly next to Ruthia appears the small brown haired woman and the three year old boy. Putting the child down she takes the award in her hand and.... *SMACK!* Ruthia yells "Ouch!" as Gina looks at her and says. "So thats why you didn't stop him huh! To busy trying to make money to protect your creator from your crazy friends? And do you relize what I would have done to you if he had acctually gotten ahold of my son! You witless stupid dragon!" Ruthia is chased backstage by Gina who is still smacking her over the head with the award, as Jacob follows them giggling. |
| Leetah08-26-05, 05:51 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongleetah.gif "EEEEEE!" Leetah grimaced as she watched the antics of Agudo play out across the stage. It looked like the old archmage had his heart set out on several of the recently announced awards, and his having won none of them seemed to have effected him pretty badly. Leetah frowned. Poor Mr Agudo. . .At least he's been nominated for several of the In Character Awards. Maybe he'll win one of those and that'll help cheer him up. A small optimistic smile played across the young priestess' lips, but was soon wiped away by the sharp piercing sound of Agudo's screams as his friends herded him back into his seat. |
| Solmund08-26-05, 06:48 PM | Keeping his owl and psycrystal from going over and hitting Agudo with talon and ego whips, Solmund rolled his eyes. He may not have been nominated for any awards, but it was great just to be able to watch the entertainment anyways. Hey Agudo, I hear there was a kender going around spiking drinks. You might want to watch out for that. He said, going over to the archmage. Taking his own advice, he waved his hand over his drink and appeared satisfied. ((sorry about not being here for a while.)) |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai08-26-05, 07:51 PM | From ancient times to modern days, the mentality of those races who are in contact with eachother changed greatly. Thus, while even the restlessmost of Dlaeh's fantasy chars has his full attention turned towards the occurances onstage {and elsewhere}, even the sternest and most slemn of his modern characters viewed this as a social event. No sound came from the aisle where Dlaeh's fantasy non-nominees sat, but the 3x2 seats, whose occupants earlier expressed theyr fears and amusement over the Dyversity {lousy pun unintended} award being given to someone other than theyr player, kept having conversation circulate in them: Lot: "Speaking of a dyverse cast, anyone noticed our side ain't at full attendance? Where's Cedek and--?.." Gil'ad: "Dlaeh haas denounced Aalpha City. Thaat resoulted iin the... reabsorbaance of all three aanthromorphs intoo the mental-emotionaal baackground." Rab: "What mah man Gili tryin'a say be Quath got so pizzled wid Alpha he done told 'em furries they ca' f--" Lot: "Not them! I'm talking about the two councelors, Issa and Elicedek!" Gil'ad: "Theese, i belieeve, weere consiidered "inapropriate" - in theeyr tendencies - for thiis haall... or raather for the Maap of the Planes as such. I truust wee all know whaat i speeak of?" Lot: "Huh?! You're kidding, right? Aunt Effie ain't sitting between those two to bask in theyr moral purity, you know..." Amos: "Hey, hey!!!" Hila: "Down boy, Lot won't survive long after calling Oscar "Issa", anyway." Amos: "Not so sure; Oscar could mistake him for Liza. Not 'cause Lot's such a master of disguize and impersonification, mind you. He just really looks, sounds and smells like a little girl." Hila: "Ah-ahm!" Lot: "I'm just saying if the councelors are barred from here because of that, then every male in our li'l gang should be kicked out! Starting with me!" Arcadia: "I cannot help but support the call. Removing the four of you from the hall would make it much quieter. Starting with you. Besides, we have enough arrogance here without a black man named after the Klan's founder." |

He leaped out of his seat and pointed at the troubled Archmage who hadn't won any of the recent awards. "Ha ha! Take that you annihilated archmage! So far you've only won one award ~ and I think this proves you only won it because you got paired with this year's greatest DM, Ruthia!" Khedlar waved his award for "Most Indepth Character Background" proudly above his head so Agudo could see it. "See? I managed to win this one on my own! Looks like I've got you beat this year! You'll never get more awards than me!" Artwork copyright © 2005, Gordon R. Quigley |
| kulideb08-27-05, 05:58 AM | The elf slipped into the hall, using the shadows to hide in. She really hated having to dress up, gowns just seemed so restrictive some how and she defiantly couldn’t take a deep breath in…not with out showing more flesh than was decent with so many humans about. The elf really couldn’t understand why bare flesh got them worked up so, but then a twinkle came to her eye as she remembered seeing a certain archmage showing off plenty of bare flesh! With that she glanced around looking for the afore mentioned mage as usual there seemed to be some sort of trouble, trust Agudo to find strife! Staying with the shadows she slipped past a group deep in discussion, pausing for a moment as they mentioned Dyverside, now there was a word that bought back memories! Leaving the group to continue their chatter she headed closer to the stage. The lights were brighter here and no longer could she hide in the shadows. She really hoped she hadnt missed her slot. As usuall there seemed to be some disagreement between Agudo and Khelar. At least it would give her a moment to steady her nerves before having to go on stage. The blondhaired elf looked at the envelope clutched in her hand and read the nomination category silently to her self. |
| Myranthor08-28-05, 04:21 PM | I came back to my enses, after having realized that I had won the best writer award, probably the main reason why I had come here in person in the stead of many of my characters. I walked to the stage hurriedly, feeling a bit guilty for all of the other nominees who didn't win the prize. I remebered thinking that Khaira and I would be tying up in that category, since I esteemed so much her writing and her researched vocabulary that I lacked, betrayed by my linguistical origins. Also, thinking that it probably was when I was extensively roleplaying with Chris and Gord Quigley that I developped the most of my writing on the boards, while the malevolent Luika exchanged witty blows with the arrogant Kheldar, and insidious and poisonous compliments with the innocent Leetah, I felt they, too, would've deserved that prize. Having not played very often with Savael, I didn't read as much posts from him than from the other nominees, but his talent for creating an atmosphere in a given post didn't need to be seen numerous times to be noticed. I went to the mic hurriedly, hoping to press the ceremony forward before Agudo would turn crazy and blast the whole room with a devastating spell, or would charm everyone present and make all of them his faithful servants, only to feed his ravenous ego. "Thank you, thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for this fabulous prize. It is the second time tonight that I walk up those stairs, and it is the first time that I actually do so for a prize that I - and not one of myc reation - won. I must admit to you that, tonight, I hoped to come back home with three precise awards in my backpack. Already, fortune smiled to me, and handed me two of them. I do not know for you, but I'm wondering what surprise this ceremony still has left." And, with a welcoming gesture, I invited Kulideb to stand to the mic, concluding the little introduction I improvised for her. |
| Pipers Youth08-28-05, 07:28 PM | Piper now stood before the elf girl, by the name of Star Bright, attentively padding his almond hair, with a handkerchief produced within his pocket. Since the 'unfortunate accident' he was called out from his seat. "Let me get this straight, you want me to present the next award, or the hostess will kick me out?" Star Bright frowned and shook her head, a brightly colored envelope clasped in her hands, at her gown. "No sir. I believe I told you, that we request your leave, unless you can present this next award. It seems we are short of hands, and it would be greatly appreciated." Piper's eyebrows furrowed, and he stared darkly at the girl. Yes,it would be gladly appreciated. Must they sugar coat the obvious. Apparently the now dead noble, was a sponsor for this occasion. "Absurd, I refuse. I came here as a guest by invitation!" Star Bright wasn't intimated by the man, and started to turn around, a pout on her cheeks. "Well sir, you leave me now choice but to summon the bouncers. I hear they are pretty nasty fellows, a believe one of them as a bit of dragon blood in him. Oh well." "Wait, I'll do it!" Piper snapped back, snatching forth the envelope from her hands. "Oh thank you kind sir. Have a nice evening, and do try some of the apple tarts." Star Bright winked, and turned about, soon disappearing into the crowd. Piper stared at the envelope in his hands, groaned, and started the long pace towards the stage. "I should have stayed in Thay." The Red Wizard soon clambered up the stage, brushing past some young fellow who had just received an award. He gave a quick glance at him, looking at the strange garb he was adorned in, and swept his gaze back up to the audience. Sweeping his hands upward, he tried grabbing the attention of the patrons seated. "Excuse me, gentlesirs and good wives! I was granted the Honor of presenting the next award this night, to end the last of the Out of Character awards." The Screen flashes. Best Played Up Sterotype Pale, hands quickly removed the sigil, and flip the parchment open. Clearing his voive he continued. "And the award goes to........... 'Captain Waldo Binkle!' From somewhere in the crowd Star Bright looks directly at the Red Wizard and narrows her eyes. "By all the nine hells, must I do it?" Piper whispers under his breathe. His answer is a solemn nod by the girl. Piper sighs, makes a quick gesture with his fingers, and throws up his hands once more. The air above him explodes in a dazzling array of colors, lighting up the whole chamber. |

| kulideb08-29-05, 05:36 AM | As was the way of all such shows this one was not without a hickup. Kuli smiled at Myranthor as he left the stage, her hands gracefully applauding him but before she could take her place on stage the red wizard had stepped forward and by the look on his face it was voluntary. "Well done, you know I'm a big fan of your work."she said in a soft tone to Myranthor as he passed her before turning her attention back to the wizard on stage. |

| kulideb09-07-05, 05:48 AM | The little elf hadnt realised that she had drifted off in to her thoughts till a loud cough invaded her contemplations. With a slight blush she hurried up on to the stage, remembering to lift the hem of her dress a little so that she didn’t trip. "Hello Ladies and Gent.." Kuli started to say as she looked out at the sea of faces. So many people and all looking at her, the elf fidgeted with her fingers nervously, and gave a gulp. Focus on just one face, forget all others.. whispered a soft voice in her head. Kheldar, there was no way she was going to let him see her slip up and after their soul binding (the elf still wasnt quite sure what all the after effects of that still were) she some how felt he above all others could feel how nervous she was so her gaze settled on him. Her posture straightened up and she smiled, sweetly before speaking out in a crystal clear voice. "The award I'm Presenting is for Best over all Character." She smiled at the crowd (well at Kheldar.) "And the Nominees are Lady Hoot; Myranthor; Khaira; Drindin; Agudo; Rayek and.. Kheldar." Her slender hands gracefully tore open the envelope. Her smile broadened as she read the name printed on the card. "And the winner is.." |
| Kheldar09-08-05, 02:48 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongkheldar.gif Kheldar held his breath. . . Here Kulideb had been watching him the entire time! Did she already know who the winner was? Was that why she was watching him so closely!? Was she waiting for his reaction? "Voll-ll. . ." Kheldar's voice came out surprisingly shaky, so much so that he paused to blink. There was a lump in his throat and butterflies racing in his stomach! What on earth was the matter with him? He must have wanted this award more than he remembered. But. . . He felt like an overly concerned father hoping his daughter wouldn't forget her lines during a school play - only, maybe from the daughter's perspective. What a ridiculous thought! Kulideb was handling herself with all the tact and confidence of royalty. If anything he could be proud of her! She probably never had butterflies racing in her stomach or any of that other nonsense. He needed to say something to make him feel better. ". . . You can be sure that hack of an Archmage wont win this one. . . Eh Voll?. . ." Artwork copyright © 2005, Gordon R. Quigley |

| kulideb09-10-05, 04:53 AM | They all deserved to win, she thought as she looked at the names. She was just glad that all she had to do was read out the name for she didn’t think she would have been able to pick out just one person. Kheldar was smiling, broadly, but would that smile still be there in a moment’s time? "Archmage Agudo!"she said out loud. her gaze turned from Kheldar and searched out that of Agudo’s. |
| Khaira09-10-05, 08:59 PM | Khaira smiled demurely as she waited, patiently, for the recipient of the award. She was *sure* she would win this one... Archmage Agudo!"she said out loud. her gaze turned from Kheldar and searched out that of Agudo’s. Khaira smiled and nodded with satisfaction as she began to get up, then paused. A...Agudo? But...But...Khaira's expression shook with rage and dissapointment, looking around for the Man in Blue "Agudo!? Why, he's nothing more than a silly Archmage with an ego bigger than one of Elminster's spells who likes blue too much! Has anyone seen his body? That man hasn't seen sun in ... in gods know how long! And just LOOK at that ridiculous hat! What does he think he is, smart or something! And what about..." Khaira's protests were interrupted as she was dragged down by hands connected to peace-loving people whispering, "Shhh!" |
| Kheldar09-10-05, 10:28 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongkheldar.gif Kheldar wouldn't let Kharia's protests go unheard! He jumped out of his seat and picked up right where she left off! "Yeah! And what about Kheldar?!? Why! I've got to be a thousand times more cunning, charming and humble than that hack! This is a disgrace! I demand a recount! Agudo must have used his evil magic or something to rig this award! I-*! Kheldar watched Agudo get out of his seat and move towards his award. Arguing the fact probably wouldn't do Kheldar any more good. He dropped to his seat and grumbled under his breath. ". . .Fine, so far as I'm concerned he and I are tied in awards. . . This is probably the last one he gets any way. . ." Artwork copyright © 2005, Gordon R. Quigley |
| Kathryn_aka_Kat09-11-05, 08:48 PM | The woman in the back simply laughs and applauds. |
| Leetah09-11-05, 10:16 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongleetah.gif Leetah smiled and clapped her hands as she heard Kulideb read out Agudo's name. Surely this would set the old Archmage's heart at ease, and return the peaceful ambience to the ceremony that it had enjoyed just a few moments ag-* "AGUDO!? Why, he's nothing more than a silly Archmage with an ego bigger than one of Elminster's spells who likes blue too much! Has anyone seen his body? That man hasn't seen sun in ... in gods know how long! And just LOOK at that ridiculous hat! What does he think he is, smart or something! And what about..." Leetah felt goose bumps crawl up along her back just as the last of Khaira's protests were hushed. Hoping that the bardess didn't feel half as sore as she looked, Leetah suddenly jumped again as another explosion of angry yelling came from the other corner of the auditorium. "YEAH! And what about Kheldar?!? Why! I've got to be a thousand times more cunning, charming and humble than that hack! This is a disgrace! I demand a recount! Agudo must have used his evil magic or something to rig this award! I-*! Then Kheldar suddenly fell silent as well. Leetah let out a long drawn out sigh and slumped down to the bottom of her seat. "Oh Pelor, why can't they all just be happy for each other? . ." |
| Drindin09-12-05, 12:43 AM | Drindin and his company clap politely. |
| kulideb09-12-05, 03:17 AM | Oh Mask! Kuli thought as first Khaira and then Kheldar lept to their feet. The little elf took a few steps backwards, worried that the angry pair might want to 'kill the messenger'. But the two upset nominees took their seats once more. The elf gave a nervous smile and clapped her hands as the Archmage made his way through the crowds towards the stage. She was glad to see that the rest of the nominees took things a litttle better. |
| Agudo Archmage09-12-05, 05:01 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley Ahh it was good to see Kulideb about the school once more She had been gone far to long even her tavern wasn’t the same without her The Dwarfs working there seem less happy Of course Agudo always found it odd that she lived with seven men Dwarfs And that they called her Snow White? The gossip, around town of her and all those lonely single Dwarfs Shaking his head the Archmage of Light thought It’s none of his business if Kuli want to live with men named Dopey. Grumpy and …. He was brought out of his musings with the lovely sound Kulideb’s voice Kulideb "The award I'm Presenting is for Best over all Character." She smiled at the crowd (well at Kheldar.) "And the Nominees are Lady Hoot; Myranthor; Khaira; Drindin; Agudo; Rayek and.. Kheldar." Her slender hands gracefully tore open the envelope. Her smile broadened as she read the name printed on the card. "And the winner is.." Griping the plush furniture Agudo knuckles grew white leaning forward the mage bit down on his lip as he desperately waited It was then he heard that squeaky voice he now knew so well Kheldar "Voll-ll. . ." Kheldar's voice came out surprisingly shaky, so much so that he paused to blink……. You can be sure that hack of an Archmage wont win this one. . . Eh Voll?. Grimacing Agudo shot an icy stare at his nemeses then turning around telling himself to ignore such childish behavior But another voice that muscle headed drunken uncle that is in everyone family spoke up Voll "Ja. Za poor Archmage has no hope of vinning zee Best Overalls Character Award. Vhat he's wearing looks much more like a Vizard's Robe." Looking down at his cloths he frowned he mumbled “It’s the lattes fashion in Water Deep…Bah! there just jealous like my mother always told me” Looking back up it was then that Kulideb spoke those O’ so blessed words :bounce: "Archmage Agudo:bounce: Kharia Khaira smiled and nodded with satisfaction as she began to get up, As if they were both in agreement Agudo and Kharia both stood Look at the smile on her face he knew she must be so happy for him He couldn’t help but tear up at her sweet idea of giving him a hug But it was to late to embrace her for Agudo head was already inflating lifting him above the cheering crowd Music rang out like some cheap beauty paginate contest Lalalalalalalala ….Mr. Archmage …you are so wonderful He could hear his name being called out with love Of course Headmaster was earning that title (HEADmaster) with his subjective interpretation of what some where saying Khaira "AGUDO!? Why, he's nothing more than a ….Archmage…. BIGGER than … Elminster's …..Sun ... in Gods!…. And just LOOK ……he IS.. smart or something! Agudo turned and looked down on all he surveyed Why even my old enemy that no good two bit thug Kheldar is happy for me Kheldar "YEAH! ….thousand times more cunning, charming and humble …..Agudo must have ….. Agudo tried not to cry for all the kind words being said by Kheldar But what did he mean must have?...ahh the Award..of course even Kheldar could see the great Agudo must have it He slowly landed next to Kulideb on stage taking the award in one hand and Kulideb in the other Mumbles a few magical words :mage: to do away with any of those pesky FOD laws With a passionate kiss Agudo planted a wet one  right of the kisser of Kulideb Agudo blinked for a moment Then spoke in Kulideb’s ear “You really earned that “A” in class this year Kuli” :ayyyy!: Then letting go the lovely Kulideb the overly proud mage leapt into the air with his very very very....beloved award Flinging it back forth high above his head yelling as loud as he could “YES WAS THERE EVER ANY DOUBT!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOWOWOWOWOWWWOOOOOOOOOOYAYAYAYAY” http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongladyhoot.gif Then with a big pop...Lady Hoot could be seen using a bobby pin letting out all the hot air in Agudo head sending him flying back to his seat :P |
| Tyrion Grayleaf09-12-05, 06:29 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongtyrion.gif Tyrion watched the Archmage of Light return to his seat with quite an astonished look on his face. Agudo either deserved praise, or a trip to the clerics ward of his school! Regardless, Agudo would be looked after if he needed it, it was Tyrion's turn to present the next award. Tyrion stepped out from backstage where he had been patiently waiting and went stright to the podium. His well-kept mythril armor shimmered on stage and he moved in it with ease. After silently congratulating Kulideb for a job well done he spoke into the microphone. "Good evening my Lords and Ladies. Tonight I am honored to present to you a very special award, as it recognizes a very crucial part of what makes a sussesful patron on the Map of The Planes. It doesn't matter if one is kind, grumpy, serious or funny, what really distiguishes a good character is someone who is fun to be around. Someone who presents intresting oppurtunites for others to respond to, and is very receptive to what others say and do without restricting anyone's creativity. . ." Behind Tyrion on the giant screen a scroll unraveled revealing the award's nomanees. ". . . The Nomanees for Most Enjoyable character to Interact With are: Agudo, Captain Binkel, Gene Kynes, Heimosu Steiner, Khaira, Kulideb, Lady Hoot, Lolita, Lucky Leprechaun, Myranthor, Rayek, and Ruthia. . ." Tyrion opened his envelope and read the parchment inside. "And the award goes to. . . Lord Heimosu Steiner!" Artwork copyright © 2005, Gordon R. Quigley |
| ruthia09-12-05, 08:12 PM | Ruthia clapped for the winner of this award because unlike some big egod people, *Coughagudocough*, she knew when another deserved an Award. o O(I'll be happy with just one....Damn it I had BETTER win best dragon!) |
| kulideb09-13-05, 07:38 AM | Words failed the elf as Agudo took in his arms and kissed her. "err..thank you.."she muttered not quite sure what to say as her face turning rosy. She just hoped that Shades wouldnt take objection to the Archmages actions. At first she thought Agudo must have cast some spell upon her as he floated away as all she could see was a shimmer of light, but as the shimmer moved closer kuli recognised Tyrion and realised the shimmer was just his well polished mythril armor. With a quick smile and bow the elf quickly and gladly left the stage to take her seat and the safety of the shadows. As she saw her name roll on the screen she felt her self swel with pride! (though she was careful not to get as bloated as the archmage!) She couldnt belive that she had been nominated, such an honour! She didnt mind the fact that she hadnt won, just having her name on the list was enough. She clapped her hands and looked around trying to spot Heimosu Steiner. |
| Lord Tarran09-13-05, 06:22 PM | Rising from the stupor that seemed to grip them over the past few awards, the Tarranite characters shake the tired veil upon hearing Heimosu's name. All clap wildly, as Christopher gets out of his chair to yell and cheer for his good friend. |
| Arcuna09-18-05, 09:49 PM | ((Hey, I'm really sorry that I didn't post sooner. As my sig states, I don't really post here anymore because I don't want to offend anyone, but I shall post here so as to not disrupt the thread.)) Heimosu stands up, looking rather surprised, but happy nonetheless, and makes his way up to the stage. He accepts the award, shakes Tyrion's hand, and says, Thank you. I'm not exactly sure what to say in response to recieving this award, beyond that I love to lend a helping hand when and where I can. Those of you with whom I interact on a regular basis have helped me out quite a lot through my hardships, and without you, I certainly would not be very sociable at all. For that, I am eternally grateful and in your debt. Heimosu nods to his friends at the Darkhole Inn, as well as to his ally servants of Vox, when he says "Those of you". Although his speech lacked any sort of closing, he felt it was appropriate to leave things at that. After he finished talking, he quietly proceeded back to his seat. |
| ruthia09-23-05, 05:14 PM | ((Next Award please....)) |
| Taeldrin Laesrash09-23-05, 09:15 PM | ((Do you want some one to do it? I'm willing.)) |
| ruthia09-23-05, 09:24 PM | ((Thanks, I will need people to present here soon. But the next one had the Quigley boys names writen all over it...meaning the volunteered...lol. I'll give them a few more days.)) |
| Rayek09-24-05, 04:48 AM | (( My deepest apologies for the long wait everyone. Gord and I just went through our examination and final projects week, so our time's been really tight. )) http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongrayek.gif Just as the commotion of the audience was beginning to rise, all wondering where in the realms the next presenter was, a tall pale elf shrouded in the colors of midnight stepped onto the stage and approached the podium. His brisk walk held a certain shrewdness to it, and his sharp penetrating gaze told everyone in the audience that they best silence themselves before he reached his destination. When Rayek finally did arrive at the stage's dais, the assembled audience was quiet enough to hear his final foot steps echo. Taking a white envelope from one of the many inside pockets of his twilight cloak, the shadowy elf eyed the audience as if their response had been satisfactory. In truth, he really wasn't upset with anyone in the audience at all, but was furious over the current situation he was in. Speaking in public was not something that Rayek enjoyed doing, and somehow his name had appeared on the presenters list without him knowing. Rayek clinched his teeth as he took hold of the microphone and grasped it tightly in one of his gloved hands. Whoever had signed him up for this was going to pay, this he promised himself. "Ladies and gentleman. Tonight I have been given the pleasure of announcing the winner of the Most Heroic Hero Award." Most Heroic Hero Award? What the hell kind of name is that? "This award recognizes those in the community who display an unyielding presence of bravery and courage when faced with great peril. It also recognizes individuals who's selfless acts have benefited the lives of those around them. The nominations for this category are. . ." Behind Rayek unraveled the gigantic scroll. "Lord Keldorn, Young Branth, Lady Kulideb, Lady Khaira, and Sir Evander Sunstrike. And this year’s winner is," Rayek tore open the envelope. "Lady Khaira." |
| Khaira09-24-05, 07:32 PM | Khaira watched in mild amusement as Rayek made his cool, detached way to the podium. She noted the expressionless look in his face and the cold, unfeeling look in his eyes. As Rayek describe the Most Heroic Hero Award, Khaira's mind began to sift through the possible winners of this award. Considering her own actions, she doubted that she would win this award. It would likely be Kulideb, who had sacrificed much for Hillsfar, for her friends; or it would be Branth, who gave his life as the ultimate sacrifice during the Messianica War; it could also be Keldorn, in all of his black-and-white perception of morality. As it was, however, Rayek uttered the last name that she suspected. Behind Rayek unraveled the gigantic scroll. "Lord Keldorn, Young Branth, Lady Kulideb, Lady Khaira, and Sir Evander Sunstrike. And this year’s winner is," Rayek tore open the envelope. "Lady Khaira." Khaira looked around eagerly for the recipient of this honored award to rise and make their way to the stage to accept this endearing honorable mention. She would have to remember to congratulate that recipient most loudly, for such actions were always evident of a life of honor, care for others, and utmost sacrifice. Suddenly, Khaira realized that it hadn't, in fact, been any other than ... herself! Ecstatic that she had been chosen for these honorable mentions and, yet, puzzled as to why she had been selected, Khaira jumped up and, with a movement that was more of an intricate dance than a walk, she made her way up to the stage, where Rayek awaited. "Rayek, my dear, you are so kind!" Her eyes twinkling mischeviously, the famous - or, as some would say, infamous - bardess blew a heartfelt kiss Rayek's direction before spreading her arms wide. "Thank you, thank you, my dear friends! This comes as a very unexpected surprise! Truly, I am honored that you all think me worthy of such honorable! I feel it must be uttered, however, that I would have no chance of even being a nominee for this award if it weren't for all the great people out there; Kulideb, you've been a great friend and sister! Agudo, it sure was fun while it lasted! Tyrion, Rayek, you defnitely knew how to make a girl's life interesting! Kheldar, you mischevious trouble maker you! Ruthia and all of you rascally dragons...you have made a truly ... exciting time out of what might've been dull and trite. And all the rest of you, whom I could not possibly hope to mention, my gratitude goes out to all of you! Thank you!" With those last two words, Khaira threw her arms open and wide to the air, causing a dozen motes of light to suddenly explode into existence around her and dance merrily for a minute while Khaira made her way back to her seat. |
| Drindin09-24-05, 09:13 PM | A lithe young girl, no older than thirteen, slowly and deliberatley makes her way to the stage. Her light, silken dress trailing gently behind her, her hair tied back in that utilitarian manner that it normally is, her cool, somewhat transparent, blue eyes look out as she smirks. None other than young Krissy Trunin. "Gentleladies and gentlemen... I am now given the honour-perhaps ironically-of presenting the Most Overpowered Character award." The big-screens explode in a burst of light, images of flames and ice and water bursting forth from the widescreens. The elements converge to produce the words: MOST OVERPOWERED! Krissy holds out the envelope. "The nominees for this award are: Lord Tarran; Jerado; Aravilar Holistacia; Finwe; Turalisj; and Miss Frost." Krissy opens the envelope. "And the winner is..." The screen fades to black, and the lights go down. She unfolds the paper inside. "LORD TARRAN!" She calls into the microphone. |
| Lord Tarran09-25-05, 10:44 PM | The entirety of the Tarranite crew begins to chuckle softly, glancing at the calm Tarran. All in all it seemed best not to speak, as all were unsure how the old wolf might respond to recieving an award of infamy. As the druid stood, walked up to the stage without emotion, took the award, bowed once to the audience and left, the Tarranite's began to laugh hysterically. |
| Taeldrin Laesrash09-26-05, 09:35 AM | A grey-skinned kobold walks along the back of the stage, then comes out of the shadows and to the microphone. He looks up at the structure, and gives the base a sharp kick. The microphone falls to the ground with a screech and a crash. Looking at the stunned audience with a smirk, he takes an envelope, and starts to talk through the microphone on the ground. 'Lo. My name's Cronir Veldsquar. Never mind how I got here, or why I'm doin' this, but here I am, presenting the Most Underpowered Award. Fitting that a kobold does the job, eh? Cronir opens the envelope, skims throughs the writing inside, and closes it. The nominees are Dante, Kulideb, Elvina, and Old Grix; the winner is, eh, let's see this thing again... He speaks the winner with a tone that isn't exaggerated, or very happy for the winner. Dante Ambrose. |
| Khaira09-26-05, 04:57 PM | The heavily cloaked and hooded figure stood up from somewhere near the front and made a slow, seemingly casual way to the stairs and up to the podium, bowing to Taledrin. An eloquent bow greeted Taledrin and then the crowd. After watching the anticipating looks upon some of the more dignified members of the crowd, Dante addressed them in his coldly calm voice that was sleightly muffled by the folds of his hood. His tone belonged to one that either didn't care or was simply unexcited about this award. "I suppose this is the point at which I express my undying and ever grateful gratitude to the nominees and the voters, and thanks all of the individuals that have played a role in molding my soul, my life, and my personality to this stationary point in time where I now stand before you..." Dante paused, surveying the crowd's reactions. Some of the nobles were on the edges of their seats, anticipating some great, marvelous magic show to rival that of the flashy Khaira, whom had gone before him. A couple of them even began to call out to him as he stood there, his deformed features hidden by his hood. "Let's see your pretty face, sir Dante!" "Aye, don't hide from us!" "We want to see the heroic face behind the heroic individual!" Dante smirked, and lowered his concealing hood to reveal half of a face of flowing, crystal and another grotesque half of his face marred permanently by burning of some kind. Smiling coldly, he watched the nobles shrink back, and a few of the female bodies in the crowd fall limp as they fainted. It was only then that Dante smiled and bent forward. "Thank you." Still smiling, Dante made his way back to his seat. |

| kulideb09-27-05, 03:14 AM | Kuli's hands were beging to hurt from all the clapping, but the elf was really enjoying the night and each winner and nominee deserved to be applauded. She was glad her friend Khaira won an award especially after the lady’s earlier out burst! She felt herself shiver before she could stop herself as Dante pulled back his hood. The elf didnt judge on how someone looked, yet the first sight of the mans face had affected her. The shiver quickly passed and the elf clapped her aching hands together. |

| Khaira09-27-05, 07:50 PM | Khaira strides up to the podium again, bowing mischeviously to the audience. "G'evening ladies, gents, and other ... specimens gathered here on this wonderful evening! Tonight, I have the pleasure of presenting the next award...." Khaira raised both of her hands, regarding the screen behind her. Lights flashed up all of a sudden, multi colored letters forming a phrase on screen. At the same time, a dozen tiny motes of light again exploded into being around the podium. Most Comedic Award! "Nominees for the Most Comedic Award are...." Khaira looks to the screen; a pale blue background replacing the previously exultant screen. The names of those whom she announces being to slide on screen as she announces them. "...godthegiant, Duilya, Lucky, Rom, Captian Binkle, Gold Digger Dwarf, Kheldar, and Rodney!" "And the winner of the Most Comedic Award is..." Khaira slides her finger under the envelope, reading the name on the paper and looks up to the crowd. "...Lucky! As she shouts Lucky's name out, she throws the paper up into the air, causing the paper to turn into dozen little fireworks, dancing all around the stage. |

He clapped his gloved hands together, but not enough to be heard over Voll's joyous applause or anyone else in the rest of the audience. After he finished he held his hands together and began rubbing the palm his right hand with the thumb of his left hand. "Voll, you don't happen to have a cure potion on you, do ya?" Voll stopped his exuberant applauding and looked down to his little friend, a few nacho crumbs falling from his beard as he did so. When he saw Kheldar rubbing his sore hand, the Demon Slayer's emerald eye's instantly light up with worry! "Egads! You have contracted zee tendinitis! Don't vorry my little friend! I'll save you!" Tightly grabbing onto Kheldar's wrist Voll proceeded to execute his family's secret miracle message. The message was an ancient remedy formulated by Voll's ancestors which involved a complex motion of stroking the sore body part clockwise and then counter clockwise. Unfortunately for Kheldar, Voll had absolutely no clue how to perform this message, and the large demon slayer simply proceeded in crushing Kheldar's hand with whatever jarring motions he could come up with. The subsequent sounds of snapping bones did not sound very healthy, and neither did Kheldar's howls of agony. "Yikes! I can tell by your agonized screaming zhat za tendinitis must be very bad. You're very fortunate to have a good friend like me to heal it!" |
| Kheldar09-28-05, 11:48 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongkheldar.gif Kheldar hoped his clenched teeth looked like a big, happy smile to his large, behemoth of a friend. ". . . Thanks. . . . . . Voll. . . I. . . I think I'm going to go show one of the nurses here what a good job you've done." Kheldar picked himself up and stared at his broken hands. . . he thought he could maybe move one of his pinkies. "I'll. . . be right. . . back!" Kheldar moved around the stands searching and inquiring where the first aid room could be found in this auditorium, but he was mostly met with stuffy nobles or people who told him to "shush" and didn't want to be bothered. Boy people could be insensitive sometimes! Here he was dying of pain and nobody had the time of day to help him out! "Excuse me sir. do you know where the-" "Not right now! Can't you see there's somebody on stage?" "Sorry. . . I'll try someone else. . . Miss, could tell me where I can find-" "Silence! I'm waiting for that gorgeous Leprechaun to do a little dance!" Kheldar's blood begin to boil! He started to clench his fists. Snap - Crackle, POP! Pain shot up and down Kheldar's hands. With a forced effort he kept his mouth shut and continued his search for the first-aid room; occasionally attempting again and again to ask for directions. Artwork copyright © 2005, Gordon R. Quigley Duilya YAAAAAAAY! ♥ Duilya leapt out of her chair and perched herself on it's backrest, clapping wildly for her friend Lucky. | Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai09-29-05, 08:33 AM | "Looks broken...", comes the voice from behind, and somewhat above Kheldar's head, as an insectoid arm lightly pokes him. The grin on Treemmouphindar's face makes it hard to figure out whether he's offering to mend the damage, or entertaining ideas of creatively worsening it; then again, maybe the silvery drider towering over Kheldar is merely constating a fact, without any intention of proceeding to do anything about it one way or the other. |
| Kathryn_aka_Kat09-29-05, 09:05 AM | Kat made sure she was obscured behind one of the larger bystanders before wiping the tears from her eyes. Tears of laughter, of course. . o O (Agudo is just the same as ever, gods bless his egotistical greedy little soul. Good thing his heart is big enough to counter it. And the others... hmmmm... I know them by reputation so good for them as well. But Kheldar...) She manages to control the chortling enough to peer around the overdressed bulk of the person in front of her (... iridescent pink sequins... what had the woman been thinking?... looks like the vision from some drunken fae... ) to track his progress. The white set look to his face almost set her off again. . o O (Who would have thought these awards mattered so much to him?) For she'd been much too far away to hear the snap, crackle, POP! of broken bones coming further apart. |
| ruthia09-29-05, 11:45 AM | Fortunantly for Khaldar, Ruthia was sitting near where all the snaping and crackling happened. Standing and moving towards him she proceeds to pry him away from his new girlfriend, Dwarfina. With an angery hiss she says "Now stop all that love mush junk, there's kids here!" Ruthia specifically looks at Duilya. Hauling Kheldar out to the back of the auditorium by his broken hand she finally stops pulling on him just outside the doors. ((This is all FoD premitting of course deary :D )) Those nearest the door may see a light shine under it, a girlish scream, and then the doors reopen. Ruthia walks in with a smug look on her face and goes back to her seat. o O (Who would have thought that rogue had such a low pain tolerance. I mean all I did was regrow all the bones in his hand one at a time, jeepers what a baby) |
| Taeldrin Laesrash09-29-05, 03:48 PM | Cronir hobbles up to a seat next to Kito, and sits down. He hears the high-pitched scream of the illustrious rogue, and shrugs. He leans back, and waits for the next award. He whispers to the psuedodragon, What happened? Shouldn't you be doing something clericly? Kito glances at the kobold, and looks up at the sky. Something tells me whatever happened has been resolved, not to mention rather wierdly. |
| rom09-29-05, 04:13 PM | An as yet unnoticed small pouch in a chair rustles a bit, then opens. After the sounds of a struggle, a full sized dwarf pops out, a live fish in his mouth. He flops to the floor, spitting the fish out. He struggles to his feet and frowns as he looks around. "Poo. woulda won....but not here for win." He sticks his tongue out at the fish, and grabs the pouch, tucking it into his belt. He puts on a wooden bucket over his head, complete with sticks for horns, and starts to waddle towards the exit. |
| Kheldar09-30-05, 12:04 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongkheldar.gif Kheldar raised a newly regenerated fist into the air and hollared out loud to the heavens above: "HEY EIDROG! You good for nothing player! Defend you're PC's freedom of destiny once in a while!" Kheldar let his hand drop and muttered curses under his breath as he re-entered the auditorium. "I haven't screamed like a girl since I was 7. . . and dammit that that was a large spider." As he pitied himself Kheldar noticed another glum fellow leaving the building. "Rom!?" Kheldar blinked at the droopey dwarf. He thought it was Rom, at least, Rom was the only person he knew who'd stick a bucket with make-shift antlers on his head and call it a helmet. "I didn't think you were going to make it tonight! You're up for two awards this evening, right? . . Errr. . . Well, one award now I suppose." Kheldar smiled wryly and shrugged. "Life sucks, huh?" | Khaira09-30-05, 12:19 AM | Khaira looked towards the sound of the screaming, yelling and, finally, the SNAP-CRACKLE-POP. She grimaced at that, and then shook her head, muttering to herself. "Geez ... I know Lucky's dancing and fiddling isn't great but, it's not THAT bad, is it?" |
| ruthia10-05-05, 08:43 PM | ((Ok, two people have awards to present still...either one would do please)) |
| ruthia10-08-05, 05:31 PM | "Rom? Is there a person named Rom here?" A show organizer walks up and down the aisles yelling "ROM WHERE ARE YOU? YOUR SUPPOSE TO PRESENT AN AWARD!" |
| rom10-08-05, 08:14 PM | The strange little dwarf stops as he hears his name. He raises his hand and hollers out. "OOOHH!!!! Me Rom! Me Rom!!" He runs towards the show organizer, tripping over his feet and rolling down the isle, taking out the man and any one else in the way. He struggles to his feet, arguing with his "helm" "Hey! Who turnt out da lights?" With a mighty POP, the bucket comes free, his black wirey beard snapping up and thwacking himself in the head. "oofsa" He blinks and pulls out a small scroll from within the beard. "OOH! Me finds!" With a giggle and squeal, he clambors up onto the stage and up to the podium, which stands higher than the top of his bald head. With a mighty belch, he clears his throat and starts to read the scroll. "evitaerc tsom rof drawa eht si drawa txen eth......." He blinks, the giggles as he turns the paper over. "the next award is the award for most creative....there.....much better....heeheehee. nom-in-ees....Dante, Septris, Duilya, Khaira, Kathryn aka Kat, Melynxt (his pronounciation is horrible to say the least) and the winner be.......Kathryn!!" He cheers and claps with enthusiasm...so much that he applauds himself right off the stage into the orchestra pit. "Owich....ZZZZZZZZZZ" (he seems to be asleep inside a tuba) |
| ruthia10-08-05, 11:08 PM | So kind person grabs the tuba and places it some place nie and safe so when Rom awakens he's not in imediate danger! |
| Kathryn_aka_Kat10-09-05, 11:14 PM | .......... "the next award is the award for most creative....there.....much better....heeheehee. nom-in-ees....Dante, Septris, Duilya, Khaira, Kathryn aka Kat, Melynxt (his pronounciation is horrible to say the least) and the winner be.......Kathryn!!" Kat freezes as her name rings out across the auditorium. . o O (Hells and damnations, I knew I shouldn't have come! Feh.. well, curiosity bags the Kat, if not killing it. Alright, alright, no hope for it but to come out of hiding.) A wave of applause from people who obviously couldn't know for whom they're applauding, and so heads shifting and craning and looking for the recipient to show herself and prove her anonymity. Even the bulk of pink sequined flesh in front of her wouldn't hide her from them forever. A quick deep breath to brace herself and then drawing up to a poised and graceful stature as if walking through a crowd of staring strangers were her usual pastime, she steps out to the aisle and walks down to the stage. . o O (At least the presenter has vanished.) A few steps up and she walks over to the unattended podium and waits for the applause to lessen, with a gleam in her eye of amusement now at all the fuss and bother. When she starts to speak her voice is calm and her enunciation as clear and well-formed as any court herald might wish. "Thank you! I'm honoured even to have been considered for this award, and honoured too by sharing the category with so many distinguished nominees. Creativity is often in the minds of the beholders rather than in the one considered to display it. I act as seems natural to me, and sometimes as it seems I must, given the circumstances. Sometimes, admittedly, very strange circumstances." . o O (Those clones, for instance!) She seems to be repressing laughter, and not repressing it very well, as she smiles to the crowd. "But my part would have been little or none without the others around me. Many thanks to Kheldar and Leetah, to Rocky and Gene, and to Luika. And of course the most thanks of all to Agudo, for dragging me into your little adventure." A side step away from the podium with the last words and she waves her hand towards the ones she's named, then bows to them and to the hall. And while attention shifts to the always impressive and eye-catching Agudo and to the others, she slips down the stairs and attempts to lose herself again in amongst the crowd. |

| Pipers Youth10-11-05, 07:03 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongpipers.gif Meanwhile Piper had just exited the customary men's rest room, a rolled up Mage Weekly in his hand, and a bit of toilet paper dragging on the sole of his boot. Looking around, his shoulders rose, and he gave a sigh of relief. It was hard work avoiding that brat little elf girl Star Bright, and her bouncers, but it seemed he finally lost them. Trying to look as inconspicuous as possible, Piper made his way back to his seat, and plopped down. The faster these awards went, the better. No soon than he breathe than a shifty looking woman swished past him, being pursued by none other than Agudo! When does the man ever quit, Piper thought as he recalled to the past, when Agudo would flirt with every apprentice lass that made eye contact with him. Begads, the man is hundreds of years old, and a fire yet burns in his loins. The Archmage of Light and now even bigger Ego Feels the love in the air :inlove: Fliping a lock of long blond hair over his shoulder He winks at Kat and his chest puffs with pride Yet just before he can open his mouth Lady Hoot once more takes a sharp pin and lets out the hot air to his prideful head. | kulideb10-12-05, 04:41 AM | Kuli watched the show from the shadows. Her gaze drifted over to the Archmage as the Lady on the stage mentioned his name. Yes, there was just something about men in blue.. she thought to her self with a smile. |
| Drindin12-05-05, 07:20 PM | *cough cough* Drindin looks about. His player suddenly appears! "Hey! Let's finish this up! I want to know which of my chars won..." |
| ruthia12-05-05, 09:51 PM | *the screen suddenly flashes on it's own, as if the presentors had forgotten to appear. The next award appears onthe podium without anyone taking it there.....* BIGGEST EGO! *It unfolds the nominees* Agudo the Archmage of Light; Lord Tarren; Kheldar *It folds back up and a deep voice says* And the winner is.... AGUDO THE ARCHMAGE OF LIGHT! |
| Drindin12-05-05, 09:56 PM | BIGGEST EGO! ... And the winner is.... AGUDO THE ARCHMAGE OF LIGHT! Drindin smirks. "Was there ever any doubt?" |
| Agudo's Ego12-05-05, 10:03 PM | Suddenly there is a commotion from the back of the audotoruim. A figure dressed in all blue burst in the doors. It rushes to the podium and grabs the award. Turning to the audiance this Agudo doubl grins and says "IT'S MINE! ALL MINE! IN YOUR FACE SUCKERS!" And with that and a manically laugh, it runs away to write a new book. |
| Agudo Archmage12-06-05, 02:23 AM | Agudo slaps his forehead as he stands at the podium as a strange fellow impersonating him runs off with the biggest Ego award. “Well I don’t know if I should be thankful that someone wanted that Ego award more than me or..... Be Insulted. that anyone would think I had a big ego Never the less another one of my fans seems to have lost control...O’ well another restraining order The audience starts to laugh an applauded Agudo walks off to his seat face blushing not really sure if they are laughing with him or at him. “Really Hoot who would ever think I had any kind of Ego. Its takes alot to be so happy and nice all the time...and...being such a snappy dresser..hmmm great writer...and Ya know!?!....Im on a roll...soooo many awards for me....YES! Lady Hoot rolls her eyes and waits for the next award. Ooc really lol........I don’t know who that was as Agudo’s Ego.....but I got a laugh out of it. |
| Captain Binkle12-06-05, 03:15 PM | "Am I late?" the one-eyed gnome said, holding an envelope and being completely exausted. "Did I miss my award," the sea captain slurred, the smell of ale hitting Augdo like a hammer. |
| Agudo Archmage12-07-05, 04:34 AM | Agudo was delighted to see the long lost sea captain Patting the brave Gnome on the shoulder he smiled “You’re alive! And....well um enamored like a drunken Halfling lass on her first night out. Then realizing why Captain Binkle is here Agudo reaches into his now many bag of Awards Let’s see Best looking, Most loved, Best Writer... Biggest Ego....um must have won that by mistake Blushes and quickly put it back Ahhh here it is Best Played Up Stereotype Shrugging as he hands it to the intoxicated Gnome Please ignore the scratched in Agudo next to your name ....Cough... im sure it will come off with some soap and water With that Agudo sits back down as Most Embarrassed Mage of the Year ‘Of all the times for him to make his return I knew I should have waited until I got home with it |
| Captain Binkle12-12-05, 02:45 PM | "Well, congragulations," the drunken gnome replied. "Yah do have a big ego," he added bluntly with a chuckle. Waldo squinted at his award, and grinnned broadly at the blushing mage. "Just how much of the show did I miss?" the drunken captain managed to say through drunken sobs. "Was I supposed to present any awards?" he slurred. |
| Agudo Archmage12-12-05, 03:33 PM | Smiling brightly Agudo shook his head and patted the shoulder of the slightly to put it kindly...... tipsy Gnome “Your mere appearance amongst us land lovers was more than enough. Sooo umm how goes the A.A meetings? |
| Captain Binkle12-12-05, 04:51 PM | "Meeting? I thought this was a celebration?" the drunken gnome said flabbergasted. "You know, I'm not as think, as you drunk I am," he slurred again leaning more on Augdo then anything. Across the room two barbarians sat with a pile of empty mugs. Each was downing their frothy mugs in one gulp. Their eyes were glazed and they bealched at the same time. "Ten more rounds!" Thorn yelled and a barmaid ran to accomidate. "Remember Hale, first to fall carries the tab." His brother nodded and smiled playfully as new mugs were being placed. |
| firelizard Brad12-13-05, 09:12 PM | Suddenly a small lizard with wings appears on the podium. He flashes his blue eyes around the room, then unties a scroll with his talons, flipping it open and dissappearing. The scroll booms in a loud voice! THIS IS THE AWARD FOR MOST VILLIANOUS VILLIAN! THE NOMINEES ARE Pipers Youth; Savael; Jerado; Luika; Kanzeil; Re'shak Del'anier; Messianica AND THE WINNER IS! PIPERS YOUTH! |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai12-15-05, 05:37 PM | A dark portal opens beneath an area of seats, in the center of which Zincaller sat. Those who were at the portal's margins were simply torn, as parts of theyr bodies were sucked into it while parts remained here. Those who were entirely within the portal's perimeter were sucked in alive, and with them the portal's opener himself - Zincaller. The portal leads to the Mature Boards (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14), where these poor, innocent victims will be tortured and abused in the vilest, most inapropriate ways to pay for the fact that theyr tormentor was not even nominated to the last category announced. |

Besides having found a new power, and defeating death? I mean do you miss the feel of the wind upon your living skin, or the touch of a woman?" Piper tried not to sound condescending as he stood face to face with Zhtasye the lich, their noses almost touching. It was hard enough keeping a stomach when years of rot buffeted ones nose, and the ocassional peice of skin flaked off from the liches skalp to land on his tattered robes. The lich paused, incredulity playing on his skeltetal face, tracing a bony finger across his jawline in serious thought. After a moment the lich raised his head, the crimson pinpoints in its empty eyesockets glittering, and let out of roar of rasp laughter, that sounded more like an insane cackle The sight of this made the red wizard cringe, afore he nolonger wanted to find out. Instead he curtly excused himself and briskly walked to the Johns room. AND THE WINNER IS! PIPERS YOUTH! Halfway there, Piper turned in midstride as the crowds parted to look upon him completely blue-faced and ready to lose his orderves. And ofcourse there was Agudo, cheering him on, completely taking the moment from him. "Kussoth take me now", was all Piper could say as he swallowed sickly and tried to retain his last shread of dignity. |

A firm snort came from Atlas, whose horned head towered over Noulminur's inspite of the latter's seat being positioned on higher ground than the former's. The halfelf took it as a sound of confirmation, and continued: "Then what, in all the Pandemonium's holes and hollows is she a priestess of?" After giving his hypothetical audience a minute to ponder his words, he elaborated further: "Selune? An obvious assumption - everyone's favored fluffy, snowhite flyer is a selunite, seeking to redeem the powerful Agudo from her humble position as his familiar, on behalf of the Moonmaiden herself - beautyful! But then, take a moment to think of it: would not Selune's nocturnal hunter bear feathers of silver, rather than white? Furthermore, what beast of Selune's retinue lacks the gift of lycanthropy? And has anyone ever seen our lady Hoot shed her plumage and sprout hands where wings were once? For that matter, has anyone heard her ever speak the Moonmaiden's name in prayer? Or, for that matter, any other name or title? Or even, in actuality, pray at all? Hmmm..." |

| Drindin01-02-06, 03:12 PM | A young man walks onto the stage. Somewhat odd looking, in that strage blakc top with the hood and zipper, and a pair of baggy black jeans. He has longish, unkempt hair, a minor complexion problem, and a pair of rectangualr, oddly thing, black rimmed glasses. He's roughly six too, and he holds open the next award. The screen flashes ina burst of flame, which is suddenly extinguished by something that the players in the audience recognize as a seltzer bottle. In the smoke arises the words "WORST VILLAIN!" The man on stage clears his throat. "The nominees are..." Turalisj's weird warforged thingy that never really had a name. Turalij in Evil Intentions; Edwin Odesseiron of Thay "AND THE WINNER, HANDS DOWN THANKS TO TWO NOMINATIONS!" "TURALISJ ALL AROUND! Sorry buddy, but stuff happens!" And with that, the young man snaps his fingers, and suddenly disappears. |

| Elvina01-08-06, 10:19 AM | The lights go out suddenly, there is a scream in the darkness. People mumer nervously to the nieghbors, unsure what magic has caused this to happen. Suddenly a single light appears and focuses itself upon the stage. There stands a child who appears to be of roughly 6 winters. Short white hair and piercing blue eye that seem to indicate that this child is no innocent, he knows more then he should at this age. He cooly looks upon the people before him, his pressence powerful enough to calm a few people as they look at him. In his hands he holds the next envelope and the award floats next to him roughly two foot off the stage floor. He says in a strong, clear yet quiet voice. "This award is for the Least Helpfull Character. And the nominees are." In front of the child writing appears, forming names Akroma; Angel of Wrath; Savael; Luika THe words fade as the light focuses on the child again. He opens the envelope without touching it and looks at the paper that pops out. He nods and the paper flares up, dissappearing in a puff of smoke. He looks out into the crowd with those cold, piecing blue eyes and says "Our winner is Luika." The child leaves the award hovering mid stage and goes to walk off, his white hair shimmering in the light. One curious onlooker pips up. "Who are you?" The child pauses and looks at this daring onlooker, his cold eyes unnevering the questioning person. He speaks again in the clear, strong voice. "My name? I am Seran Turan." And with that this mysterious child dissappears as if he was never there.... |
| ruthia01-08-06, 10:28 AM | From her seat in the front row, Ruthia claps politely as the child reads off the winner. She watches the child leave, an odd expression on her face.... |
| Agudo Archmage01-08-06, 01:42 PM | Edwin merely huffs as he ponders how he could not have been nominated for that award. Taping his long fingers he mumbles aloud Perhaps if the voters here graduated to goonery from the O’ so humble beginnings of town drunks...I could win something |
| ruthia01-08-06, 01:51 PM | Ruthia looks at Edwin and smacks him with a shoe... "You where to helpful for that award Ed my lad, you put Agudo in a dungoen for us and saved us foom more long winded speechs.." laughs and takes her seat again |
| Arith01-14-06, 12:48 PM | Stepping onto the stage after some time comes yet another child of six winters. Her golden hair shimmers in the spot light as she walks out trying to carry four awards at once! Some kind Person comes out and helps the child to the podium, she flashes that Person a sweet smile. Everything about this child seems to rediate innocences....at least untill you see her eyes. Pale cold blue like ice, they seem to hold a commanding feel to them. She holds up the first Envelope and says in a sweet, samll voice "This award is for the Best Low level Character. The nomines are.." With a burst of pink words appear behind the girl Krissy; Kulideb; Elvina The words flash and dissappear, and clapping happily the child opens the envelope and reads "The winner is, KULIDEB!" **Insert clapping and pauses here for Kuli to accept ect...** The little girl grins and holds up the next envelope. "This one says it's for Best Mid Level CHaracter. Nomines are:" Once again a flash of Pink and words behind her. Septris; Leetah THe words dissappear and the girl laughs, opening the envelope "THe winner is, LEETAH!" **Insert pause and clapping here ** Hopping from foot to foot she flashes the next envelope "I have more! This one is for Best HIGH level character! Nomines are:" Once again those cute pink letters Pipers Youth; Rayek; Myranthor; Luika; Savael; Tyrion The words puff away and the girl hops some more while opening the envelope "winner is.. RAYEK! He's cute!" **Insert childish giggling, clapping and pause here....** She holds up her last envelope, looking sad now. "Ahh..last one for me. It's best Epic Level Character. Nomines are:" A puffy pink burst and even puffier pink letters. Christopher Selunson; Kheldar; Gene; Agudo They float away like pink puffy clouds as the girl saddly opens the envelope and reads it, pouting "Winner is Agudo..how come I don't get one." She stomps her foot and looks like she is going to throw a temper tantrum when that white haired boy from Ealier reappears next to her. He takes her hand and says "Arith Turan thats enough of that, now come on!" Arith pouts and leaves with Seran. |

Agudo takes a bow for his Award as best Epic and hugs the other winners in the mass awards give away. Speaking to Leetah Rayek Kulideb he smiles You all are wonderful you earned your award. :bounce: |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai01-14-06, 04:29 PM | While all of Dlaeh's fantasy characters {well, those still present, atleast} rise from theyr seats to noisily congratulate Kulideb for her well-deserved award, a single voice rings among the modern characters, addressing mainly - but not exclusively - Lot. Gil'ad: "Doo yoou yet ponder wheerfore ouur deaar coouncelors aare missing?" |
| ruthia01-21-06, 11:53 AM | Ruthia quietly walks on stand, her face glum as she holds a heart shaped envelope and wears a cupid outfit. She's mumbling something about having lost a bet as she stands at the podium. "Our next category is Best Romance. And the nominees are." The screen flashes and springs flowers. In Bright red writing it flashes BEST ROMANCE! and the nominees Christopher Seluneson and Nezumi; Gene and Khaira; Gene and Kulideb; Myranthor & Elvina; Malicious Angel & Dwarfina Hammertoe; Luika & Leetah; Lucky Leprechaun & Leenaria The Pixie; Agudo & Viconia Ruthia shakes her head as the hearts fade and the camera focuses on her. | Drindin02-21-06, 03:15 AM | Drindin looks about, wondering when then next award will be handed out... it felt like he had been here for almost a year! ;-P |
| Lossehelin02-22-06, 12:47 AM | Yet another child of six winters heads toward the stage with the next award. He has on his face a look that can only be described as a bullying/mischevious look. He carefully places the next awar on the podium and smiles sweetly as he pushes his Blackish/bronze hair out of the way of his emerald green eyes. "Hello everyone. This award if for Best Team of Two. The nominees are..." The screen seems to burst in Bright color...mostly glaring yellow! BEST TEAM OF TWO! it flashes again into a differnt bright color for the nominees. Naki and Darktooth; Agudo and Hoot; Gene and Khaira; Gene and Kulideb; Khaira and Kulideb; Khaira and Savael; Kanzeil & Mazenda; Rayek & Tyrion; Rom and Kendrac; Leetah & Kheldar; Kharia & Respen; Khaira and Lucky; Tyrion and Rayek The screen fades leaving spots in some chars eyes as the boy laughs and looks aroun, opening the envelope. "And the winners are, by cheating and having their names in twice, Tyrion and Rayek!" He walks away giggling..when they two winners go to get their award though they find it stuck fast to the podium some how...... |

| Pipers Youth03-03-06, 01:11 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongpipers.gif As Agudo picks up yet another award this night, the Red Wizard slinks back into his chair, and pulls out a large spellbook from a small dimensional pocket in his robe. His latest masterpeice, bound in dragon hide, and sealed with an array of deadly protection ruins. It took years of accumulated notes and stolen spells to finish, a real treasure that any wizard would covet. Carefully removing the seal Piper thumbed throug the pages and stopped at a section titled Energy Substitution. The object was to enhance any elemental spell to have a farther range and have a secondary effect. What Piper essentially was looking for was to make his fire spells bigger. Perhaps this would give him an edge at next years mage fair. Yes, he could just picture casting a fireball large enough to engulf a hillside, and wipe the smirk off his opponents face. If only he could perfect the feat. Just then there is a great cheer from the audience, as he looks up in time to see a bobbing blue hat running up and down the seats. Narrowing his eyes, he noticed it was approching his booth. A sense of panic overcame him, as Piper jumped up from his seat, to be smothered by a blonde bristling beard. Agudo had picked him up in a great bearhug, in celebration for his latest award. In the process Agudo had crumbled and ripped the page he was reading! "Put me down fool! I command it at once! I threaten the lives of your children and theirs!" Piper spat, trying to pry himself from the archmage. |

| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai03-03-06, 08:01 PM | "Woohoo! Yeah!" - in quite an unthokly manner, Thok the Random threw his fist in the air, cheering for Myranthor's prevalation in the Serious category. Having been eyeing him with suspiceous surprise for that, Chanting Mistery soon turns his gaze back to the stage, folding his hands and leaning back with a saticefied smile and purr, as he hears his dear little friend won something as well: "Ahhh, Duilya..." |
| Duilya03-07-06, 10:48 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongduilya.gif YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! With her large amethyst eyes lit up with excitement, Duilya bounces out of her seat, cartwheels down the stands, stops beside Piper's Youth to give him a great big hug, and then races down the rest of the way to the stage with her arms spread out like the wings of some gnomish flying machine, her black cape and bright pink hair trailing behind her the whole way. Oh wow! Thank you so much Miss Kind Omnipotent Lady Voice who Announced the Awards! I'd give you a great big hug if I could, but I can't see you, so instead I'll send out a dozen blow kisses and hope that one of them hits you. Making good on her word, the child sends out her kisses in every which direction and then stands up on her tip toes and grabs the award off of the podium, nuzzling it as if it were a cherished pet. I'd like to thank all the purple people out there, because purple is an extra spiffy keen color! ♥ |

| Khaira04-04-06, 01:34 AM | Mazithra grabbed his award, his expression devoid of any emotion or gratitude. It was just a piece of metal ... like his sword. What did he care for such a petty thing anyway. With a smile and a bow, he threw the award into the air and, simultaneously, slashed through it with lightning quickness with his rune-inscribed sword. Only then did he speak but two words "Many thanks." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai04-04-06, 09:12 AM | Watching the players taking over the show, a certain orc, whose base class was turned into a prestige class in the new edition, was deep in existential contemplation: Thok feel lil real. Players chat too much. Thok not like much Oh-Oh-Cee... Thok CHAIN LIGHTNING much oh-oh-cee! And with this desidion, all 2.5 of his arms began moving, forming the required magical pattern, as his voice - changing in unexplainable ways - uttered the arcane formulae. However, "surprisingly", Thok's spell did not quite go as planned. Instead of the desired effect, an entire square of fifteen seats loucnhed like a cannonball from its position in the audience hall, tearing off the other seats, flew untill it almost crushed against eh cieling, and then fell down onto the backstage area. Ouch. The six seats occupied by Dlaeh's non-fantasy characters were part of the finfteen-seat square. On the oposit corner of that square, Chanting Mistery had the misfortune to temporarily sit down just before the spell took effect. Possibly the man least phased by the sudden wild surge and the eventual crush-landing was Rab. Rising nonchalantly from where they fell, the large, black rapper stepped forth onto the stage itself, hiding something under his leather overcoat. Before Mazithra would leave the stage, he called out to him with a supportive smile: "Yo Maz! Wait up, ma brotha. Here's fo' ya bein' tha illest fathamockin' FIGHTER on da Map!" And with that, he tosses the Best Fighter award, aiming above the winner's head, making it equally convinient for Mazethra to catch, or slash in two like the previous. best undead: drindin best dragon: ruthia oddest char: Chan Ting best dressed: leetah shopkeeper of the year: Kulideb Good: agudo evil: luika neutral: mazithra amakiir lawful: keldorn AKA chaotic: Saveal Chanting Mistery, meanwhile, dusted himself off from the fall, from a distance, studied the piedestal on which the ten awards {for the allignments, the undead, the dragons, the shopkeeper and his own} just appeared out of nowhere. He was expected, ofcourse, to make a performance uppon his victory, but then... it was not his singing voice he was being awarded for. Besides - while the other winners each had a living being fondly present them each award, with a dramatic proclamation and all, he was among the ten whose trophies were merely left on the stage, without any glory, as if to be gathered by beggars. The chiarite assasin in him shunned attention, but the singer in him couldn't help but take it as a slight. He darted, crossing the stage in his leap, flipped in the air and landed with his toes onto the Oddest Char Award. Standing vertically on his award, maintaining perfect balance, he then bowed deeply to the audience, practicly folding in half. As he did so, each hand of his restred on one of the other awards - namely the Best Dressed one and the Chaotic one. Streightening up from his bow, he lifted these two in his hands, and then, suddenly fell into his trophy, on which he stood, taking the two he held in his hands with him. He figured there was no one here to collect these two; besides - he should have won bothm, anyway. The Oddest Char award, now containing its winner and two other awards, fell down from the piedestal, and clanking, rolled away off the stage and into the shaodws. |
| Khaira04-06-06, 04:52 PM | Possibly the man least phased by the sudden wild surge and the eventual crush-landing was Rab. As the githerzai's name was screamed out, he turned around ... just in time to see the hunk of metal flying towards him. With exact precision and a yell that could best be described as a battle cry, his sword crackled, simultaneously, lightning and fire coursing through the metallic blade. With two hands, he slashed at the award, watching with growing satisfaction as it splintered into a thousand crackling, flaming pieces that flew every which way then. Only then did he realize that it was, in fact, an award and not a missile weapon seeking his life. With a nonchalant shrug, the native of Limbo bowed and with only two further words, leaped off stage. "You're welcome." |
| Pipers Youth04-06-06, 09:57 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongpipers.gif The night has become a complete disaster. The physical attention is too much. Soon Piper is succumbed in affectionate kisses, that he is nolonger aware of his surroundings, not feeling a strange energetic pink haired girl jump upon his lap and hug him. The roar of the crowd, the cheers of congradulations have become a dull hum. The lights and music, just a blur. He is now on the bridge of a mental breakdown. A bead of saliva drools down the corner of the Red Wizards mouth, and his eyes roll up into the whiteness of his head. He becomes slack jawed, and his otherwise sharp features disengrate. This is it, I'm going to die. Everything goes blank, and Piper is now somewhere elswhere. He can feel the plush carpet of his library now in Thay, as he looks up into a burning fireplace, a steaming cup of tea laying on the foot of his favorite arm chair. He approches and can see a book is neatly beside it, its marked place where he left off. He smiles, and climbs into the chair. Gone. Now he's in the bedchamber of his mistress, Shoudra. She's wearing a soft, silk gown that hugs to her body. Her long raven hair is tied neatly in a pony tail. She looks puzzely at him, but then smiles alluringly and waves him over to the bed. He follows and pulls her into lustful embrace, but she evaporates, and now he's in someplace that makes him nervous, a stuffy tower, sitting at a table with eight other men. He recognizes the one with the bushy eyesbrows and cold glare to be his Master, and the seven other peers under him. There seems to be an arguement as one of them men waves his arms in protest, and the master cooly narrows his wand from across the table and turn him into a charred smear. The others start to sweat proffusely, and rub their hands on the back of robes. Now Piper is standing in an expanse full of nothing. He can't even measure the scope of this nothingness, and seems to be standing on air itself. Suddenly Agudo is standing there, with wavy blue robes and hat, a cheerful smile hiding behind his bearded face. He opens his arms and says something cheezy, like 'Come into the Light'. Before he comes closer, Piper cast a polymorph spell on him, turning Agudo into a woman. With a bewildered look on he feels his womanly shape, and frowns as two burly dwarves appear, whistle, and carry Agudo away, playing slap and tickle. The plymorph spell was indefenite, which makes Piper smirk with great pleasure. Ruthia is the next to appear. Her eyes settle on Piper, and she lets out a low growl that builds to a great roar. Without thinking, he sends her to Thay, a school for fine dining and cuisine. Her she is forced to learn about sixty different cheeses, and must be required to name every wine on taste. She also is tutored in how to be a better hostess, and mingle with her guests. Piper feels satisfied that hes accomplished something worth great merit, and maybe at the next awards the food will be better. Piper is peering down into a scrying bowl. He's looking into a forest, and watches as a group of seven heroes aids a burning village, and slays the pillaging gnolls. Thinking this an unfair outcome the red wizard tosses lightening into the pool, and it travels to the forest to strike each of them dead. This done, he looks up at a funny, yet irritating man named Edwin and raises an eyebrow. Just as another strange revelation starts to occur, Piper awakes to find himself back at the awards, his head throbbing, popcorn in his hair, and a leprachaun dancing on him. The clang of a sword his heard, and he glances up to see a peice of flaming metal fly out of his vision and dissapear. Deciding he's had enough of fireworks, poetic bards, and dragons, Piper uses the sleeve of his robe to wipe his face, and mutters, "Never again....." Tapping a ring on his forefinger, Piper vanishes, leaving a sparkle of the Weave in his wake. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai04-07-06, 12:33 PM | "Down!", hollers Rab, as he falls with his face down, pulls anyone he sees nerby down as well, an covers his head from the hot, charged and possibly sharp pieces of the award. When the hazard passes, he gets up again, and with a smile warm , produces something wrapped in red velvet from the depaths of his leather overcoat. "And nah, fo' somethen mo pleasant. See, ah been told to do this thang all standard an' fancy, knowha'msayin? Like spellin' out all 'em nominees, who ain't got nothin' on da winner; like letting dat spit" he points at the huge screen that usually showed the names of the awards, nominees and winners "do some flashin' an' evvythin'... but nah, c'mon, y'all know i ain't wid it. Cause there ain't no contest fo' this one award i'ma present, and ain't neva been one, aight? Cause when s'comes to music, then fo' any cat keepin' it real down in 'em dungeons an' battlefields - there be Khaira, and ONLY Khaira!" With that he kneels, holding the budle in his hands forth. The cloth drops off it, revealing a mithral figurine, about the heigt of his forearm from wrist to elbow, standing on a round piedestal of quarz. The figurine represents Lady Khiara Amastacia herself, her right foot bent and standing on a large harp, as if in the process of climbing onto it, and her hands spinning a spiked chain in the air. A few star seems cought in the chain, though perhaps the artist's meaning, when sculpting those, he the chain's blades. In a less loud and dramatical tone, but still with the same tone of sincere admiration he adds "You ca bridge, hook an' chorus wid ma rhimes any day of tha week, baby!", still facing the direction of Khiara, without rising from his kneel, waiting for her to come take the well-deserved Bard Award. |
| Khaira04-12-06, 10:51 AM | Arising as Rab gave his invigorating speech of admiration, of which she was the focus, Khaira arose and, emerald green eyes shining brightly, she began to walk towards where Rab now kneeled with her award. She murmured some low, soft phrase and, as she continued to make her way to Rab, the faint sounds of a harp could be heard sounding up, providing background music as the famed (or infamous) bardess began to sing, her voice reaching into all corners of the auditorium. "A wise old man to me did frown Inquiring: where has the glory now gone? 'I see its rightful place within my heart Where right now rests but a small part.' To thee now, I must say now, ride now To recover it, you must ride with naught a frown." Her voice looked about the crowd, her eyes searching out the door, beyond the crowds, the attention-getting popularity, the cameras, and the fans, to the great expanse that lay out yonder. "Over the next hill Over the ridge Through deep forests Across lonely bridge Far afield waits a shining valor Gleaming riches, great renown There but to reach and take If ye'll only stir and wake!" Her voice reached a mighty crescendo and as the energy from the harp and her voice reached its peak, an image seemed to form out of the air of a horseman riding across hill and vale, lake and stream. "To horse! Mount and ride With stout heart and high pride A little courage, a little luck Grim slogging and pluck Better to have reached and lost Hopes withered as by embittered frost To leap up again, skyward and far, Than to sit alone in a quiet bar" Her green eyes, sympathetic, caring, understanding, met each of those that now stood in the crowd. The image of the aged horseman seemed to straighten up with vigor, purpose, and motivation as Khaira continued to sing. "Our old tired eyes no longer shine So why not try? Strive and die, reach and try No disgrace the bards will cry! Ye just might find your gleaming glory, Remember the old wolves can still, defiant, bite Bring the mighty, the proud, and the haughty crashing down And talk your talk not so loud For soon, over the next hill, beyond that last ride, The music will come to rest by your side. The rest you shall find whence you ride, And peace the music shall bring to your side." Finally, she was to the award, where Rab still kneeled with it. With a soft smile, she turned to face the crowd and, in turn, Rab, speaking out, softly, calmly to the crowd. "To expect any one person to bow or show reverence to me this day would be foolish to say the least. It is for the people, and because of those I have met and have been honored that the music exists. This award does not belong to me alone ... it is not my efforts which create the music. You are the music! To you, friends, acquaintances, I bow to thee!" With soft, gentle hands, Khaira attempted to pull Rab up and bending down, attempting to kiss his hand before, then, turning to the crowd and kneeling and bowing before them. After several long moments, she whispered a soft thanks before taking the award and arising. With a great yell, and a singing phrase in some strange, unknown language, Khair threw the award into the air above the crowd. The award, in fact, imploded into a thousand pieces but, instead of metal falling down, confetti and gold coins fluttered from the sky whilst, meanwhile, harmless fireworks drew fancy patterns in the air. |
