| vegetalss401-22-08, 02:01 PM | in the eberron campain setting there is 3 feats wich open up for abuse, the feats are Exeptional Artisan, Extraordinary Artisan and Legendary Artisan. they cut 25% from, respectiavely item creating time, gp cost and xp cost. Thats nice but here's the breakable part, they can be taken more than once, and their effects stack this means that as a level 20 human artificer the only price you has to pay for an non epic magic item, is the cost for the item wich is to be maked magical. so is this a good idea? is it done before? does it for some reason not work? if yes why? |

| CrimsonDeath01-22-08, 02:24 PM | However, there is an Eberron prestiege class that reduces the cost of scribing scrolls, which does stack with those Artisan feats. There's a build somewhere on the CharOp boards where an Artificer scribes free scrolls, sells some of them for cash, and uses Cull Essence on the rest to recharge his Craft Reserve. |

Hard to see an actual DM letting that fly :( (although it worked in Master of Magic) :) |
| Senevri01-22-08, 04:50 PM | You can cut the remain in half, by picking Demon Mastery + Extract Demonic Essence. ... Or, you can keep on fishing for high-Cha demons, and force one arriving to possess an item to give it powers, as per FC1 p 25-26. |

Hard to see an actual DM letting that fly :( (although it worked in Master of Magic) :) Okay, I'm back with my books. The prestiege class is Unbound Scroll (from Dragonmarked), and it specifically states that a level 5 Unbound Scroll with Legendary Artisan would cut his XP costs in half for scribing scrolls. This thread (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=842348) discusses the strategy in detail, including using Bloodline levels, Uncanny Trickster, or Legacy Champion to push your effective Unbound Scroll level above 5 (and get further discounts on scroll scribing). |
| Fwib01-22-08, 06:03 PM | There is also Magical Artisan, from PGtF, which makes creating one type of item cost 75% (presumably gold, xp and time, although it is not explicit) I also remember reading about a feat (from an oriental sourcebook?) that makes items cost 1/4, with the cost that they all come out cursed (GM picks the curses, as I recall) - I'd like to know where that feat is from, but I can't find it - maybe I was hallucinating :( |

It only works with psionic items though. |
