This does not, however, preclude that the Elder God is not a powerful force in and of itself. Clearly he has vast strength and a body that can snake its way through much of an entire world. He has the ability to communicate with telepathy at any distance and has the ability to resurrect the dead. I would say that he is a powerful aberration. Colossal size, and only portions of him are visible to be attacked at any point in time. He has a burrow speed (as evidenced at the end of LoK: Defiance), he would have True Resurrection as a spell-like ability and he would exist on the Ethereal Plane, requiring True Sight and a Ghost Touch weapon to both percieve and attack him (as evidenced by the "Raziel Reaver" Kain wields in the end of Defiance giving him the ability to see and strike the dark entity). It's up for debate (as far as I know) if the Dark Entity was the one who possessed Mortanius at the end of Blood Omen, as Tony Jay (Reast In Peace) did many unrelated voices in the story. I would say the Elder God would be a very high CR, (estimating anywhere from 25-30) Aberration with spell-like abilities focusing on mind-control, scrying, telepathy and resurrection. He would possibly also inflict negative levels somehow, possibly with a touch as he is an "eater of the dead" and a "parasite" as Kain called him. |
