03-14-07, 11:00 AM Okay, just wanted to try and get some suggestions on the race for Hiei, as well as the Jagan eye itself, and maybe his class.

My take on this would be that Hiei is a Fire Mephling, from the Planar Handbook. It's a small race, which he certainly qualifies for, and has 30 feet base speed. I'm either thinking of getting rid of the Mephling's breath weapon and giving him the Speed of Thought feet, or just having him take it, so his base speed will be 40 feet. Most importantly, this allows him to be immune to fire, which shows up in the battle against Zeru.

His class is a little trickier, but I'm planning on making it Psionic Warrior, maybe multiclassed with fighter since he didn't have the powers at first. With Psychic Warrior, I was planning on using Energy Line: Fire for the Black Dragon Hellfire. and Energy Flash: Fire for Fist of the Mortal Flame. I'm thinking I might make a new technique for the Black Dragon Hellfire, though, maybe a Calling technique for a variant Elder Elemental since Hiei claims that the Dragon can turn on him(I think the thing with Bui was more a case of spell turning, giving him time to use Combat Transformation)

For the Jagan, I was thinking of an Item of Legacy, with the base item being a Third Eye (of course) that allows the casting of Charm Person at 1st level at will. It explains why he doesn't use it later on, who in the world would fail that save, even if it could affect the apparitions? Also, it only goes up to level 10, and the person playing Hiei can decide the abilities that come later. Here's the basic progression

5
6 Summon Monster III
7 Magic Missile
8
9
10 Clairvoyance

03-15-07, 07:48 PM I have always thought that the 'third eye' mutation on D20 Future was good for a (sawed off) Jaganshi. Check it out on the Modern SRD.

Hiei's is somewhat more powerful, giving him Farsight and the like.
