Thx. And please correct me if I am wrong:D I do not know if there is an errata to this particular spell. Human Wizard 9 Ftr2 Brb1 with 32 point buy STR 10 DEX 18(+3 Level + 5 bracers) =26 CON 10 INT 15 WIS 10 CHA 10 Initiative: +8(dex)+4(Imp. Init.)+2(Belt of Battle) = +14 (so pretty much you have the advantage) BAB= +7+2 Ranged= +15/+10 Feats Spell Focus Necro Metamagic Focus Necro (Complete mage) Residual Magic (Complete mage) Empower Spell Arcane Thesis Shivering Touch (Ref:Frostburn 104) Weapon Focus Touch Sudden Maximize (Ref Complete Arcane 83) Fast Movement +10ft Scribe Scroll Weapon Finesse Improved Initiative Items Rod of Quicken Lesser 35000gp Bracers of Dex + 5 25000gp Belt of Battle 12000gp (magic Item compendium) Quicksilver boots 3500gp (magic Item compendium) Use 1 Assumption Initiative taken with the +14 bonus Round 1 Swift action Activate Belt of Battle for 3 Charges (Gives you a full round action) Cast Channeling Life Theft for a full round with the round you have gained from the belt of battle the opponent is exhausted and takes some damage no save spell resistance applies giving the opponent -6 STR -6 DEX Cast Empowered Maximized Shivering Touch with Attack bonus of +16 so you hit :D dealing 27 Dex damage ;) so if we add them up it is 33 points of dex damage within the round. Assumption is that your opponent is helpless. Move action do whatever you want:P End of Round Round 2 Do whatever you want with your beautifully wrapped helpless paralyzed opponent:D Use 2 Assumption Initiative not taken and the opponent is not flat footed Round 1 Swift Action: Activate Boots of Battle Giving you 1 full round action Free action Cast True Strike (with the rod of quickening) Full round action cast and end Channeling life theft making your opponent exhausted -6 STR -6 Dex Standard action cast Empowered Maximized shivering touch with attack bonus +20+7+8+1=36 Dealing 27 points of damage to a total of 33 points of dex damage. Your opponent is probably is helpless:D Round 2 Kill the target:D The residual magic feat allows you to cast empowered shivering touch again the next round from the third spell slot so that you might want to do just that to someone else for 10.5*1.5= 15.75 avarage dex damage, and you can do it again quickened for another 10.5 dex damage. Ouchsss… I hope this was not done before me:D See ya all |
| PhaedrusXY04-23-07, 12:10 PM | This is basically yet another abuse of Shivering Touch. The spell is broken, and its exploits are well known on the CO boards. I think you are unwise to optimize your entire character around the use of something likely to be banned or heavily nerfed immediately after you use it the first time (or before). |
