| Winged_Edge10-07-07, 10:14 PM | Sorry if this has already been brought up, but if I teleport (Via dimension door from Horizon Walker levels) while holding an activated Immovable rod, does it come with me, and stay in the place where it teleport's to? |
| Anifanatic10-07-07, 11:35 PM | How could you go through the portal completely if you're holding onto an immovable rod? |
| Winged_Edge10-08-07, 01:58 PM | Hmm, I never really looked at it as if there were an actual door that popped up and you walked through; I always thought you just 'blinked out' and then appeared at the destination. (Figurative 'door') But let's say there is a portal-thing. Would you teleport the second you touched it, or would you physically have to move through it? If you have to move through it, then why is there a 'jutting' factor? Also, what about the people you are in contact with, they can't move apart from their turn can they, it mentions nothing about attack opps? But if this is how it works, then you couldn't do it, yeah. If you just have to touch it, or enter it partially, then you could cast it a few inches from yourself (With your whole body close to the rod, not extended) and move in, extending your arm. ---- But let's say you have to walk all the way through; what happens if you cast teleport while holding an Immovable Rod? (or someone you are in contact with is) |
| Eloc10-08-07, 04:17 PM | IMO teleportation moves the -world- around the spell's target so while the Immobile Rod is immobile, the space around it is not so yes the rod can be teleported using the spell - making some spectacularly violent (and messy) results if used effectively against quickly moving opponents. Urk!!! |
| Winged_Edge10-08-07, 06:03 PM | So, Invisibility on Immovable Rods ftw? |
| Talaisan10-16-07, 11:42 AM | So, Invisibility on Immovable Rods ftw? YES! Put a few invisible immovable rods at about shin height along a corridor. Maybe add in a grease spell. So, so horrible. |
| Skrittiblak10-25-07, 06:04 PM | Immovable rods really make very little sense to me. What happens if you're driving in a car and someone in the passenger seat clicks the 'immovable' button on the rod. Will it stay fixed relative to the car - or relative to the ground and rip through your passenger in a rather horrific way. If its the latter what's special about the earth that it fixes to it? What about the Earth's rotation or orbit? Methinks this is an ill-conceived gadget... |
