heres the idea:

20th level wizard with a belt of the dread emperor(bovd) and the arcan estrike feat

cast polymorph any object on a tarrasque

turns him into a human and hooks him up to the belt

arcane strike doesn't specify that there is an action to use it

so he could burn Xlevel spell slot and deal X amount of damage to the creature hooked into the belt to recover it

but the tarrasque takes all damage as subdual so you could use arcane strike and infinite number of times on 1 attack deal ing an infinite number of d4s in damage

i, not sure if this has already been done before or not.
also i might be missing a rule that would prevent me from doing this or some piece of eretta, so ide appreciate any feedback

Just power it yourself - plenty of spells exist that will mitigate the problems of losing hp.

1) good luck casting that on a terrasque

2) Correct me if I'm wrong, but upon becoming a human, doesn't the terrasque lose all the racial special qualities?

Yeah, that's how the Son part of the Trinity works. Baleful Polymorph the Tarrasque into a rabbit, then hit it with a wand of Enervation until its HD are low enough to True Mind Switch into it. Then dismiss the polymorph..

you cant use it on yourself. but is this possible provided the tarrasque.
and i believe that the tarrasque does not loose that ability

Infinite damage on an attack? Check out the 1d2 Crusader, by Bassetking. Works from level 12, and doesn't need an artifact to power it. Just a Small whip dagger...

Halfling crusaders with whips. Is there nothing they can't do?

doesnt require an artifact, the item costs 120,000 gp

And a Small whip costs 1gp. Whip daggers are slightly more expensive, but do lethal damage. And, of course, Bassetking's Crusader actually has an infinite loop, rather than an arbitrary one, which is what you have here. And it works 8 levels earlier, as a Crusader 8/Cleric 1/Crusader +3. And, of course, the halfling can turn off Aura of Chaos, switch back to their normal whip, and use the Martial Spirit cheese we all love so much.

"we all love" does not include me, please take your cheese elsewhere and evaluate what i did as opposed to bring up things i care nothing about

The Theoretical Optimization board is a place for theoretical optimization. Any thread or discussion that focuses on non-playable characters, or tricks using classes, races, feats, spells, skills and rules for the sake of increased power and rules bending (while still staying within the rules) belongs on the Theoretical Optimization Board

The Character Optimization Board is a place to post playable character builds for community review/ assistance. Questions and comments that support creating playable builds also belong on the Character Optimization Board.

The cheese stands alone.

(and pretty much everything in the BoVD is broken. And isn't really 3.5e.)

Thanks, TML. Also, I was trying to be sardonic. I know, I should have used a smiley . And the whole point of the thread was a way to get arbitrary damage out of an item/feat combination, which is, almost by definition, cheese. Not to mention cheese being the entire purpose of the TO boards.
