The black dragon held firmly to Clare while he flew over the tree tops toward his lair in the damp caves. Occassioanly he glances down with his deep black eyes.

Upon seeing a cave he flies down and lands just at the entrance of it, which the smell of rotting vegetation wafts out into the open air. Just as he walks in a large mucky pond could be seen with several dead bodies floating face down in it were "pickeling" in the water. There were swords, daggers, and a couple of sheilds laying just on the rim of the pond. Although, they don't look like they would be much use to anyone but a rust monster with an appetite.

Slowly, he begins his long walk through his maze of hallways in the cave.

Clare looks up to him with a smile, for his charm spell had worked on her.

The dragon sat her down on the cold damp floor of the cave while he transformed back into his dragon form. Clare seemed to have no reaction to this as she continued to smile at him.

The area was huge and bodies seemed to just line the floor of this place, the stench unbearable to those with noses to smell it.

Aravilar was firing off spell after spell into the crowd of attacking Drow when he was again impaled by a voice... "Aravilar will come rescue her, I know it!" a small, magically enhanced voice said.

"That sounds like a squeaky rabbit..." Aravilar thought as he lost concentration on a spell. "And Clare? Is she in trouble *again*?"

Aravilar sighed and cast a spell he had no intention of ever using... Aravilar looked around, and there was an Aravilar-clone. "Don't think I'm going to let you go away, now. I will be dismantling your energies after I return," the real Aravilar said to his counterpart.

The clone nodded slightly before continuing his assault on the drow outside the fortress.

Aravilar flicked his wrist, and in a swirl of color, appeared inside a dank, mouldering cave. "Why does Clare always go to such shadowed places? This had better not be a test of my love, for I certainly will not be happy about it..."

Aravilar looked around the cavern he had entered, and he raised a hand. Spellfire slowly creeped along his fingers from his palm, and sank back into his skin, creating a torch of some sorts. "What in the Hells is going on here, I wonder?"

Aravilar cast another spell, this time, one that he had created. "If my lifeforce is inside that pendant, thank the gods I can still transport myself to that place." He finished the spell, and appeared in the nest of a dragon.

OOC: I was going to come eventually, Clare, but with events at Twilight Hall beginning to take an effect on that RP, I thought it would be best for me to finish that battle before discovering the next... Hope the Aravilar-clone doesn't cast clone, and that one cast it, and the next, and the next....

{ooc: Yes, I know... the bunny likes to stretch the truth to get what she wants *hehe* :D }

The adult black dragon gives a low raspy snarl seeing the man there. His stance quickly changes from relaxed to attack mode. From the corner of his eye he looks to Clare.

Clare was still magically enchanted by the dragon, though she did turn to look at Aravilar. She was sitting in a corner somewhere behind the dragon on the cold damp floor.

"By all that is holy, Clare, did you have to make to adversary a *black dragon*?"

Aravilar sighed, knowing full well how *easy* this battle would be. Black dragons were masters of acid, and with Aravilar's advanced arcana...
He cast his first spell, which was a fireshield of... acid? Yes, Aravilar changed the elemental to acid from fire.

"You pitiful wyrm! Do you even know whom you face?

"I am Aravilar Holistacia, Chosen of Mystra! I wield spellfire and silver fire alike! Even a puny mortal such as yourself should recognize the Chosen... I suspect you've had run-ins with them before..." Aravilar noted. As he said Chosen of Mystra, the dragon's eyes got wide and his muscles tensed. "Yes... You have seen us before, have you not, S'ulete'uhiatathah? I know you... And I know that Lady Alassra has also cast you down from grace!

"Your half-breed wings, your half-breed face. I can tell the Simbul was most displeased with your battle tactics," Aravilar said, making the dragon extremely angry.

"Fine then, we fight." Aravilar fired a searing bolt of silverfire through the dragon's right arm and leg. He fired a ball of spellfire into the dragon's wings.

Aravilar looked over at Clare, who was watching the battle with intense disinterest, the enchanted smile still upon her face. Aravilar noticed a sparkle in her eyes... She was charmed, he could see.

Aravilar then turned the spellfire upon Clare, but this time, the fire was healing. It absorbed the spell energies of the enchantment, leaving Clare unharmed.

"As for you, dragon, I can only see death in your future."

The charm of the black dragon was gone and she shook her head as the last happy thought of the dragon left her mind.

She then turned to Aravilar with a bright smile. Clare wanted to run over and hug him but couldn't seeing he was in the middle of a battle. So she stayed where she was until the battle was over.

After a minute she decides she would help him out, she started to sing. With the caves walls they would echo out to him and give him even more courage and strength than what he already had. However, the dragon temporaily had the opposite effect... scared and weak.

Clare looks to the new arrival with a slight smile though a little curious as to what he is, for she had never seen one like him before.

{Greetings Lucky! :) Aravilar, you may go ahead and fight, just give Lucky a chance to get in on it as well. ;) }

Lucky takes his toothpick of a sword and stabs at the beast with all his might furor. Everyone has to look closely for Lucky is small, and so is his furor.
The dragon smacks Lucky like a bug and he fly straight at Clare. Landing in her sweet soft arms. “Thou has saved me, me pretty, no I am in debited to ye. (ooc every woman wants to men fighting for her heart.)
I will marry you if you wish?”

She looks down at Lucky with a smile and gives him a hug. "I'll think of it while you fight that dragon for me." She then sets him down on the ground and gives him a soft push, enough to make him walk forwar a step but not enough to knock him down.

She looks over to Aravilar and winks at him with a bright smile.

"You've had your fun, perian," Aravilar said to the leprechaun.

Aravilar sent a roaring inferno of spellfire at the beast, sending waves after wave of the spell-stuff.

His palms, however, began to falter. Less and less fire was pouring forth... And then there was none. Aravilar cursed loudly and began to weave a spell... The dragon, seeing this reared its ugly head... Preparing to scorch Aravilar's body... It threw fire across the room... The fire consumed Aravilar...

...But the elven mage stood firm, and the fire clashed against a pale blue shell around his body. The mage smiled, and the spell was finished.

The world was not moving.

The dragon was in a state of retraction. Clare was smiling at Aravilar... The perian, Lucky, was rising to his feet...

Aravilar began to unleash some of the most destructive spells he had. A large blue symbol burned into the air in front of him, and he began to touch several glowing nodes upon its surface. As he did, the nodes would flash green, and then go to a dull gray. Aravilar touched the last of the glowing nodes.

Elven High Magic, in its strongest, was not readily apparent anymore. However, being from Ancient Cormanthyr, Aravilar did know some tricks...

He held his right hand out, and a gathering of golden arrows appeared there. He cast the final spell he could think of, and the arrows stayed motionless in midair.

The world began to move.

The dragon did not even have time to react. After time resumed, Aravilar quickly used a powerful Chronomancy ability--inertial barrier. This ability cushioned Aravilar from time itself, making his temporarily impervious to normal magic.

The blue symbol flashed an angry red, and then discharged its spells. A fireball streaked towards the wyrm. A stream of golden spheres of light hit the dragon's scales. Finally, a large black sword appeared, and it thrust itself into the dragon's throat.

The suspended arrows flew toward the dragon, and they pierced its thigh, forearm, chest, neck, and shoulder. They burned wherever they touched, and the dragon gave a mighty roar.

Aravilar smirked, his eyes as cold as they had been the first day he was at Agudo's School. "Your time is up, you fiend of Hell. I shall end this now." Aravilar flicked his wrist... the wrong one. He flicked his left, and a large, glossy black portal opened under the dragon. It began to sink into the viscous shadow fluid, and its body was being torn apart.

"What is happening to you, you ask?" Aravilar said after the dragon snarled in ancient Draconic. "You're being sent to the Abyss, of course!"

The dragon gave a final roar before his face was eaten by the hole.

Aravilar sighed, and closed up the portal with a gesture. "That was pathetic," he said, still in a sort of battle-mode.

He looked over at Clare and said, "How many more are there? Shall I kill every last man you've met before it ends? Will it *ever* end?

"I am prepared to defend you to the last, but you don't realize what kind of danger that was. That dragon, S'ulete'uhiatathah, was a fiend of the Cult of the Dragon. They are looking to steal a bit of my lifeforce and cast an evil spell. They seek to create an evil clone of me!

"What hangs around your neck is the key, as I said, to my heart. I stored the essence of myself inside that emerald. That's why I gave it to you, so that the Cult wouldn't ever find it. Not to mention, you hold my heart in an iron fist.

"To confirm your suspicions, my lifeforce is not my own anymore. I suppose I am being sustained by the fires that burn my soul," Aravilar said, and with that, his eyes glowed brightly for about five seconds. He returned to his normal, jovial self, before continuing.

"Well, shall we be on our way?" he said, as if he had said nothing at all before this sentence. "You, perian! Shall we head back to Agudo's School, heroes, one and all?

"Marrying Clare?" Aravilar said, after he cast a special time-based spell. The spell told him what had ben said in the area in the past few hours... "Don't count on it! I think we are getting married..." he said with a winning smile. He looked at Clare sheepishly.

"That is, of course, if you will be my wife." Aravilar lost his smile and looked quite nervous. And a nervous Aravilar is a unique sight. He held Clare's hand, and he said to the perian, "See you back at the school, Lucky."

Aravilar flicked his wrist, and the duo returned to the school, triumphant.

When they arrived in the entrance hall, Aravilar quickly let go of Clare's hand. "Clare, I don't want to rush this... But... Will you marry me?" He felt his elven insides squirm at his words... These words he had not said to anyone but... his...

He tried not to make any kind of eye contact as he waited for a reply.
