| Opaque Divinity11-01-03, 09:21 AM | L'naut'kyn The blind *Deep inside a forest, only a few miles away from Agudo’s school, lies a little glade. The glade persists of a tranquil lake, deep-green lush and small trees. The lake spreads water throughout the earth, and nourishes the trees and plants, and the creatures in the area. It is a meeting spot for many creatures, dangerous as peaceful. The trees are ordinary and about twenty feet tall at most, and stands several feet from the lake so there is plenty space in the glade. The sunshine goes through the leaves easily and reflects upon the surface on the lake, giving it a shimmering and vivid look. It is indeed a beautiful sight, but the next who enters, doesn’t have the eyes to see it. Sanctus, the humble white mage, has pale and dead eyes, but his smile is wide and friendly. One familiar with him, would notice how much he have changed. His usual white and blue robes are replaced with a traveller outfit and a long blue cape. A bow and arrows are on his back and his sharp blade is in its sheath. However, there are changes to Sanctus that are not visible; he seems less confident with his steps, and his smile seems to hide something. A pain that cannot be eased or perhaps, a pain he doesn’t have the means to ease. Sanctus walks to the lake, and without even looking down, he stops an inch from the water, judging the distance only with his hearing. He kneels and dips a single finger in the cold water, trying to test his growing touching sense. A shudder, more violent that an ordinary person would feel, surges up through his arm. With this single touch, he judge how cold the water is in details, and which fish and wildlife would be able to live there. He then, takes the finger out and tastes the water* “Snake,” *Sanctus rises from the shore and walks around it, using his instincts to avoid falling in the water. One time, though, he slips on a rock, but with a quick jump, he retrieves balance. When Sanctus has gone all the way around the lake, he knows, somewhat blurrily, how big it is. The size pleases him, because he knows it’s to small to hold any water dragons or very dangerous species. Only anacondas and some sirens perhaps, in the lake, could pose any threat. Then, suddenly, Sanctus turns swiftly while unsheathing his sword. He senses the presence of a living being, only a few feet away. He narrows his blind eyes, not to see better in the bright light, but to seem threatening and on-guard. It would be his first time to fight without his eyesight, and he admits to himself, that he is scared. What Sanctus can’t see, is that the being is only a black raven perched on a branch. It stops pecking its wings and looks at Sanctus. It tilts its head to the side and looks at him, examining the blind person. It senses his fear easily and decides that he is no threat, even though he has a blank blade poised only a foot away from it. It starts pecking its scaled legs with indistinct clicking noises. Sanctus, hears the clicking noises just as well as he hears the ravens thundering heart, and decides that it have to be a bird. He relaxes and sheaths his sword. The raven suddenly sets of from the branch, and without fear it lands on the mages shoulder. It bites him in the earlobe and then, sets its beak to his ear and starts making low screeching noises. To Sanctus, its noises are easily comprehended as words and after its finished, he makes some screeching noises himself, very alike the birds. The bird nods its head once and then, sets of from his shoulder and flies up above the threes, its black wings finding an upstream to settle on, quickly. Sanctus, alone again, sits down on a rock he finds with his hands and starts pondering. What the raven had told him, is good news, but it bears thinking about* *After a few minutes, the raven returns and speaks to him again, in its screeching tongue. Sanctus rises from the rock and starts running into the woods, driven by excitement. Using his instincts and powered senses, the blind mage avoid branches and logs smoothly, as if he could see as clearly as an elf. The movements of his body are careless and agile, though the look on his face is determined. The mage runs for about ten minutes, but then, he deviates from the straight path he has followed until now, and runs effortlessly up a tilted tree and settles between its leaves. Many feet below him, in another glade, stands four orcs with big hatchets. They are chopping down trees and driving them back to their encampment on sleds. Sanctus, though, can’t see this, but knows it from the raven. This is his chance to get some experience with fighting, without eyes. The orcs movements are clumsy and loud, and so it should be easy to beat them, even with his disadvantage. Sanctus jumps down in the middle of the orcs, yelling from the top of his lungs. The orcs turn towards him quickly, throws their axes away and immediately grabs their swords. Before they get to strike, Sanctus sword comes in a fluid arc towards one of them. The blade, greatly sharpened, comes in a swift flash of light and decapitates one orc in a clean blow. One of the orcs lunges forwards and slashes after Sanctus, its sword making a whooshing noise through the air. Sanctus locates its direction and current position in less than a moment, and dodges it with a quick sidestep. He then swings his elbow into the unbalanced orcs temple, knocking it to the ground, bleeding from its head and mouth. Sanctus, hearing the ragged breath of another orc, stretches his hand out towards it and forms a fireball in his palm. The ball clashes with the fleeing orc and sends it a dozen feet into the woods. The blind mage turns to his last opponent, the biggest orc, and walks towards it. His steps are determined, his movements in expectation of the next kill. The orc, sure of its superiority, stands still with one blade in each hand. It had spent its first year in the drow army and had learned greater fighting skills than any other orc of its tribe. When Sanctus gets near enough, he swings his blade in a high blow, believing that the last orc are like the other, clumsy and unproblematic. However, he is wrong, for as the blow comes towards the orc, it is quickly blocked by one of the orcs blades, while the other stabs out towards the mage. The orc blade, stanched with clotted blood, are not the simple craftsmanship of orcs or humans, no, it is a blade of the drows, slender and sharp. If it hadn't been for his improved hearing and instincts, the stab would surely had send Sanctus to an early grave. Instead, Sanctus levitates just above the lethal sword, still with his own blade connected with the orcs. In the air, Sanctus sends the sword downwards, sparks emerging when the blade chaffs the other, and from the changed angle, the sword goes behind the orcs sword and into its eyeball, staining Sanctus with the orcs blood* *Sanctus returns to the lake, and with the tree already killed by the orcs, he builds himself a hut in a tree on the boundary of the glade. After a few days, he is finished and enters the hut, settling in one of the corners. He closes his every-aching eyes and falls into a troubled sleep* This is my home thread, not a story. This is where I live and expand my fighting skills. Everybody who want to be taught magic or fighting with swords can come here, or just anyone who wants to find some peace and share my solitude. |
| kulideb11-01-03, 09:32 AM | "Sanctus! Oh they you are." said kulideb, "Did I wake you up? sorry. This is such a pretty area." she blushes as she remembers that her friend carnt see. |
| Opaque Divinity11-02-03, 06:35 AM | "Yes its pretty, Kulideb, even beyond what eyes can see..." *He raises from the corner and hugs her. Then he walks out of the hut, and immediatly the raven flies up to him and lands on his shoulder. It whispers in his ear and he nods* "It sure is beautiful.. But theres always somebody who disturbs the peace.." |
| kulideb11-02-03, 09:46 AM | She hugged him back and walked outside. The bird made her smile. "Whos the raven?" She asked sitting her self down. |
| Opaque Divinity11-02-03, 09:54 AM | "Tal'rann.. I know no more about it.. It's a wise companion and it works for small fees," *Sanctus smiles and slips a silver coin into the ravens grasp, while whispering to it* "Ill take care of it later," *He turns too Kulideb and grabs her hand* "There's somebody in the forest, who is not supposed to be here.. Tal'rann the raven is nervous and that doesnt happen often. I know of your skills as rogue and shadow-dancer, and it would be a honour if you would help me despose of this threat, if it have bad intentions.." |
| kulideb11-02-03, 10:12 AM | "Of course, I was so intent on seeing you I didnt pay attention to any threats. I'll go scout around." She stood up, unsheathed her dagger and moved off into the shadows of the trees. She stopped every now and then to inspect a broken twig or a rock that had been knocked out of place. The ground still seemed to be very disturbed from a few days ago, she would have to ask Sanctus about that later. She carried on creeping around, listerning out for any sounds that were out of place. |
| Opaque Divinity11-02-03, 10:16 AM | *As Kulideb inspects the forest floor, the raven lands on her shoulder and carress her ear with its beak. It then slips a note onto the ground and takes off* Tal'rann have located it. Follow the raven, I will be there Sanctus |
| kulideb11-02-03, 10:31 AM | She read the note then set off at a fast pace to follow the ravan, while still keeping an eye out for any thing out of place. |
| Opaque Divinity11-02-03, 10:42 AM | *After about fifteen minutes, a hand grabs her from behind. As she turns, she looks into the endless eyes of Sanctus. He puts a finger to his mouth and then, points to two travellers about thirty feet away* "Not one visitor.. Two, Drow," *One might wonder how he know that theyre drow, but his voice is assured and as he says, it is two drow, which are readying a rabbit for meal* |
| kulideb11-02-03, 11:00 AM | She almost jumped out of her skin when the hand grabed her, she spun around and faced Sanctus! She was about to say some thing when he put his finger to his lips and told her about the visitors. She crouched down dragging Sanctus with her. "Why are they here?and can you trust the raven?" she whispered to Sanctus. |
| Opaque Divinity11-02-03, 11:04 AM | "Can I trust the raven? I don't know; seemingly our relationship is based sheerly on payment, but I think it have loyalty to me, beyond my money purse" *He smiles, but it soon fades again* "I know it puts you in danger, but could you go forward and ask for their business? If they attack a beautiful elf, then they are evil and mean harm" |
| kulideb11-02-03, 11:13 AM | "How about I shadow jump over to them, but I'll stay hidden first and evesdrop on what they are talking about." With that she stood up, focused her mind on where she wanted to be and steped into the shadow world. She stepped out again a short distance from the dark elves, their language was a little diffrent from hers, she crept a little closer and listened in to their conversation. |
| Opaque Divinity11-02-03, 12:08 PM | "I tend to forget your skills, Kulideb. Wise plan" *Kulideb can see and hear the drow speak heatedly, while taking bites from the rabbit* "L'naut'kyn uss zhah ghil, Usstan shlu'ta satiir ol,"1 * The one who speaks is the tallest drow, armed with two adamantine blades and probably some hidden daggers* "Uk zhah gareth, udos z'klaen..." 2 *The other speak, nerviously, but is interrupted by the taller, which seems to be the leader* "Ulu uoi'nota xuil nindel, uk zhah naut'kyn! Uk shlu'ta naut sslig'ne uktan!" 3 *The drow voice is shaking with anger and doubt, the drow is clearly trying to convince the other, and maybe even itself. A smirk spreads on the others face* "Usstan ssinssrin ulu harventh ukt rinteith lu'.."4 *Once again he is interrupted by the other, which carries a satisfied smile too* "Uk zhal tlu belbaunin ulu Lolth a ussta rah, Dra'nin,"5 *Just as the drow finishes he turns his head towards Kulidebs position, narrowing his eyes to cease the disturbing rays of light. It whispers to its companion, just loud enough for Kulideb to hear* "Kr'athin dosstan whol xonathull, folkhel zhah gaer,"6 ----------------------------------------------- "The blind one is here, I can feel it."1 "He is strong, we must ..."2 "To hell with that, he is blind! He can not defend himself".3 "I want to cut his throat and .."4 "He shall be given to Lolth by my hand, Dra'nin"5 "Ready yourself for battle, somebody is there,"6 |
| kulideb11-02-03, 04:47 PM | Great thought Kulideb! One on one wouldnt be to bad, but two on one! She wished she had her bow! her mind was awhirl. then she had a plan! She focused back on the shadows and opened up a gate way to the shadow world just behind the drow. She then rushed forward and took one of the drow with her in to the shadow world. She knew once there if she let go of him he would be lost for ever. "Do you know what will happen if I let go!" "Now tell me why do you hunt Sanctus." |
| Opaque Divinity11-02-03, 05:42 PM | *Sensing one of the drow dissapearing by Kulideb's touch, he confronts the other. His movements are shaking with anger, for he regonized the name Dra'nin* "Raysun? Traran? Litthual?" *The drow turns towards Sanctus and a flame of regocnition shines in his eyes too* "Traran was killed long ago and you know it. You performed the deed! Raysun was sacrificed to please Lolth. I am Litthual, yes, Litthual Dra'nin of the third house. It looks like im going to get the honour of killing you, Errdegahr'Bekea" *Sanctus unsheats his sword and walks closer to the drow, smirking all the while* "Seemingly.." ------------ In the shadow plane ------------ *The drow looks around puzzled and in the hazy shadows, it can only blurrily see Kulideb. But to a drow, the pointy ears and pale skin stands out clearly* "Darthirii!!" *It spits the words with disgust and then lifts to arms above its head* "Darthirii, you are not allowed to enter the shadow plane..?" *With those questioning words it dissapears and reappeares in the little glade, where Sanctus and Litthual already is fighting heatedly with swords and magic* |
| kulideb11-03-03, 06:41 AM | Drat! thought Kulideb she left the shadow plane with her dagger drawn and went after the drow. |
| Opaque Divinity11-03-03, 09:22 AM | *The drow storms towards Sanctus, which is currently in a standstill parry with the drow. Just before Sanctus feels the blades against his skin, Kulideb appears right in front of the drow. They collide and roll to the ground. The drow with its agility, gets to its feet quickly and makes ready to finish Kulideb's life with a thrust of its blade. Kulideb lies on her back on the ground* *Sanctus comes out of the standstill and makes a quick downward blow over the drow's blocking parry. Seeing the danger Litthual summons a sword from another plane, and then he uses it to block Sanctus sword. Then he swings the other blade towards Sanctus in a fluid arc, and it makes a deep red wound on Sanctus belly. He falls backwards to the ground and holds one hand over the wound. He tries desperately to hold Litthuas' blades away from his body, with his sword. |
| kulideb11-04-03, 04:19 AM | Kulideb lay on the ground, she swiped at the drows leg with her dagger. Then rolled away and jumped up, trying to come up behind the drow. "Sanctus, call the Raven, is if it will help." She said panting slightly. |
| Opaque Divinity11-04-03, 09:03 AM | *Sanctus smiles at Kulideb's wise idea, and then sends a mental note to the raven. He holds the drow fighter of a few seconds and then suddenly, the raven dive down from heaven and start scratching and pecking the drows head. The drow lifts both hands to his head and starts fighting the bird of, while Sanctus rises* *The drow attacking kulideb, dodged her swiping dagger and then as he did, Kulideb got to her feet. The drow attacks with a quick dagger thrust* Kulideb, you control your drow now ;) |
| kulideb11-05-03, 05:36 AM | The Drow and the elf faced each other, each ready and waiting for the other to attack. Kulideb looked in to the Drows red eyes and found hatred looking back. She knew she was out classed, her mind whirled as she thought of how she could gain some advantage over her foe. She felt something warm agaist her neck, at first she was a little puzzeled, then she remembered her locket! She began to move out into the sun away from the shadows till she was facing the sun. The drow gave an evil smile as he thought she had made a big mistake, he moved forward. Kulideb took a hold of her silver locket and focused the suns rays on it straight in to the on coming drows eyes. She knew that the drow didnt like bright light. She came forward with a kick to his ribs, he fell back, his blade falling from his grasp. Her first instint was to finish him off, instead she pinned him to the ground and held her dagger at his throat, drawring a bead of blood. "mani uma lle merna?" she asked him. (What do you want?) |
| Opaque Divinity11-05-03, 08:18 AM | "Ulu elgg Errdegahr'bekea," *A smile widens on his face* "Lu' dos, Darthirii!" *A dark ball of energy closes around the two and Kulideb looses her sight in the magical darkness. The drow have dissapeared from beneath her dagger* -------- *The raven, hit across the wing, flies of into the air. It movements are akward, as its left wing is probably broken. In anger, Sanctus moves forward and thrust his sword towards the drow. The drow dodges and then slashes after Sanctus, which is seemingly of balance. But, Sanctus, faking the disadvantage, slips under the sword and swings his sword towards the Drow's knees. The blade goes deep into the drow flesh and if falls* --------- Drow translation-->(To kill Demonwise. And you, elf)<--Drow translation |
| kulideb11-05-03, 04:33 PM | Kulideb could feel herself panic as the darkness enveloped her. How does Sanctus cope? she thought to her self. She could feel that the Drow had moved, she calmed herself down, so that her breathing wouldnt give her away. She allowed her other senses to take over. She heard a noise to her left, so faint she almost missed it. Then she heard it again, she shut out the noise of Sanctus fighting the other drow. There! it was the sound of some one stepping. She focused in on it and thrust her dagger forward. First her dagger felt resistance then it slid in. She heard a gasp and felt some thing warm and sticky drip from her dagger down on to her hand.. |
| Opaque Divinity11-05-03, 04:40 PM | *The drow, struck by Kulidebs dagger right between the ribs, begin to gasp and cough blood. The magical darkness dissolves and Kulideb can see the drow lying in a pool of blood. It is alive, though its lung looks punctured. It dies a short moment after* *Sanctus had fell the drow, and now he holds his sword to its throat. He knows its too pained to do any tricks* "Kulideb?" *He calls out to the rogue, to see if she is alive and to call her over* |
| kulideb11-05-03, 04:50 PM | kulideb looks down at her hand she seems to be in shock. The sound of Sanctus voice brings here round. "Sanctus!" she runs over to his side and goes to put her hand on his shoulder, but stops her self when she remembered it was covered in blood. "Are you alright my friend?" |
| Opaque Divinity11-05-03, 04:58 PM | "Quite alright, Kulideb. What we need now, is to make this Litthual speak!" *Sanctus moves his hands above the drow's face, and Litthual screws his eyes upwards spastically, of some unknown reason. Sanctus stops chanting and the drow relaxes* "Why are you here?" *The thruthspell affected the drow and he spoke reluctantly* "Us--" "In common, Litthual!" *The drow nods* "I am here to kill you, Demonwise! Matron Sharan have not forgiven you," "I do not ask for her blessing, young fool. I ask for peace!" "You left all peace behind when you betrayed us, Demonwise!" "The way of drow, my friend, the way of drow," *Sanctus lifts his arms and starts the movement to kill the drow* |
| kulideb11-05-03, 05:16 PM | "Wait!" shouted Kulideb. "Whats going on? I know hes Drow but you cant just kill him..it makes us no better than they are!" |
| Opaque Divinity11-05-03, 05:23 PM | *Sanctus stops his sword in the movement and turns away* "You are right, yet again. But he is the son of Shasan. Shasan, she who killed my family, when I were Demonwise, the real me. The real me, the first me, the one who stood against the evil goddess! And I was punished severely! I promised to revenge my family, and thus, I killed her two sons and four daughters. But this one must have been bred after I died," *He speaks of the drow as nothing but an animal* |
| kulideb11-06-03, 04:47 PM | "Sanctus, killing him wont change any thing. I have no love for the drow but from what I do know, this male is as much a victim of the evil goddess as any of us." |
| Opaque Divinity11-06-03, 04:55 PM | "Victim? I see only guilt in his wretched face, even though I cannot see. So obvious it is, that if I dont stop him, he will cause harm to other!" |
| kulideb11-06-03, 05:00 PM | "I know that some view mercy as a weakness." she said to sanctus. "And you what do you want?" she said to the drow |
| Agudo Archmage11-07-03, 12:52 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley The Archmage of Light stands in his office, hunched over his desk, staring into the crystal ball. He raises his brow, as he watches, and listens in on this test of temptation on Sanctus. He had sent Kulideb into the woods, just a few days after Sanctus asked to do some of his studies, in the near by forest. The Headmaster had agreed, as long as Sanctus came to his classes at least every few days. Besides Agudo thought having some Ranger skills, could do Sanctus good in his time of reflection. Never the less Kulideb asked about her classmate and Agudo gladly told her wear to find him. Hoping her bright cheery attitude would keep his spirit up. Still it would not be easy to just watch, but this was for the good of his new convert. Sanctus must learn on his own and grow in some things such as this. |
| Opaque Divinity11-07-03, 01:54 AM | *The drow lifts its head slightly by Kulideb's words, penetrating its own skin with Sanctus sword. A few drops of blood roll down his neck* "Revenge, like he! Our house have only become weaker and weaker since he killed all our priestesses and the two males! Our house will die, for no priestess is to lead it after Matron Shasan!" *Sanctus having thought why the drow spoke, now opens his mouth* "Filthy worm, I regret I came here today, for it seems it shall be a greater test for my mind than for my skills. I also regret that my blade have touched you, for know it is as filthy as you! However, what I dont forget, is that I killed your family," *Sanctus brings the blade up horizontally and then throws it into the drows face, like a clumsy missile. The hilt hits the drow in the face, and it passes out. Sanctus turns and begins running towards the school. |
| kulideb11-07-03, 04:11 AM | "Sanctus!" Kulideb called after him as he ran away. She knelt down by the drow and checked for a pulse, he was still alive. "You are a strong fighter, I have heard rumors of male drow mercenary bands in the underdark. Why dont you go join one of those." She wasnt sure if the prone figure had heard. She picked up Sanctus sword and the drows, well it seemed daft to leave them there it might only tempt the drow into something silly. She threw both in to the lake and then set off after her friend. |
| Opaque Divinity11-23-03, 03:31 PM | Rain falls lightly on the green lush, calming, yet uncomfortable, as the leaves absorbs the liquid drops, nourishing and destroying at the same time. Traces of a deer’s passing is deleted, the ground it is embedded in is being moistened, and turned to mud by the elementals above. Under such a cloak of blurring rain, L’naut’kyn returns. Sanctus, bearing the curse of his lost sight so lightly on his shoulders, slips under a fallen log, and then into the glade he had, days ago, set his house in. He does not return to the hut, though, for he cannot find calm in that place, the memories is inhabiting it, and he cannot live with them. Away, again, he runs into the woods, trying to find the salvation he had so recently lost. Tears mixing with the rain on his cheeks, he strides through the enclosing woods, determined towards an unknown goal. The tears are not soothing, not forgetting, they are burning embers on his skin. He does not dry them away, for somehow they are in fact soothing, the punishment they bring is one he can use to slip deeper into his bad conscience. It was him that destroyed his beloved, he who failed. With these thoughts swirling in his mind, destroying and wrecking the soul of the once so confident hunter, he slips into position behind a tree, his keen sense of smell catching the scent of a deer. A wicked smile, not one of glee and satisfaction, but of pure evil broadens on his face. He waits for the deer to settle in the lush, before agilely rising with sword in hand. Then, without a trace of his blindness, he lunges towards the creature. The deer tries desperately to dodge, but its eyes loose all signs of life, as Sanctus’ blade digs into the sinews on its neck, and past them, into its collarbone. It falls limbless to the ground, blood oozing from the wound where the sword still is sitting firm. “For you, beloved goddess,” Sanctus mutters, his blind eyes seeking the skies above him. It is not Loveah he is talking to, it is his nemesis; the nemesis he has finally surrendered to. Without hesitation he lowers head to the stream of blood, the liquid running into his mouth. All the blood that doesn’t, instead runs down his chin and on his lips, giving him a wretched look. After having nourished on the blood, if you can nourish on such gory a liquid, he rises from the dead form. The once so humble mage is completely changed, in face and attitude, as he walks carelessly back to the glade, his eyes shining with an unnatural red hue. |
| Demonwise11-24-03, 06:04 PM | Demonwise rushed past the trees, muttering to himself, barely keeping track of the scent he followed. The skilled hunter had found the drow easily, and with some dark magic guiding his steps, he was swift on the trail. Only a half hour lied between him and the drow, and with some luck, the drow hadn't noticed the follower. Demonwise’ fingers closed around the hilt of his scimitar. It was not the same blade he had used to kill mind flayers in the underdark, drow on the surface and orcs in the woods. It was not the one that had so ominously hurt his beloved, no; it was a new one, more suited for the task at hand. More cruel. The handle was cold and calming in his pale hand, the blade growing from the silver hilt was in contrast warm, every lethal curve in its course burning with his desire to kill. Never slowing, Demonwise knew he had found the prey. The dark elf sat by the roots of a tree, the sound of his panting so clearly indicating his position to the hunter. He had been running, Demonwise noticed with a smile, while slipping over to the drow, which did nothing to defend itself. “There you are, Litthual!” Demonwise whispered, smirking. Demonwise unsheathed his blade in a fluid movement, the tip of the scimitar cutting a deep red line on the drow’s forehead, serving as a promise of the pain he would soon feel. He then, without any hesitation, kneeled besides the exhausted and defenceless dark elf. “I would had expected you to come a longer way than this, Litthual. Your brother ran for several hours before I trusted my blade through his skull. Tsk tsk… You bring even more shame to the house of Dra’nin,” the dark mage mocked, positioning the tip of his blade on the drow’s neck. “Kill me then, Errdegahr'bekea!” the drow yelled desperately, trying not to breath to heavy because of the threat of Demonwise’ blade. “I will… Someday. Until then, I have a very gracious offer to give you. Find the rest of Dra’nin, and after that, help me kill the one who put me in a bad light with my goddess, so you can get your goddess to like your family again. Find the drow, and kill Agudo!” |
| Agudo Archmage11-25-03, 12:39 AM | ((OOC Well I dont know if you wanted agudo to hear that last part. But he was using his magic crystall ball to listen in before. But if he did this is what he would have done.)) :D As he hears the words kill Agudo,..... "WHAT?" the Archmage of Light, falls out of his seat. BONK ;) |
| Demonwise11-25-03, 01:22 AM | Its okay you know :). I hope you don't mind im coming to kill you? :smirk: .. I will send you a mail before anything drastic, though Sanctus and the dark elf dissapears into the woods, each going in a different direction. A short while later, Sanctus returns to his hut with the body of Loveah, gently putting it into the small house. He goes out again, seeking some blood he will need for the ritual he is preparing. |
| Loveah Grinarium11-25-03, 03:23 PM | A purple light emits from Loveah's body and a transparent figure of her appears standing looking down at her. She then turns and disappears and reappears infront of him. Her words soft but gentle, almost like that of her former self. "Sanctus...Sanctus...what are you doing?? What have you done to yourself?? The Sanctus I knew would never have given into the goddess like that....Oh Sanctus..." She floats along beside him and continues to do so until he answers her voice. |
| Demonwise11-25-03, 04:23 PM | Demonwise turns, staring without eyes to the shadow which adressed him. After it has finished, he realizes who it is, and for a moment appears to be shuddering. "....Ar... Are y...alive... Arggh!" he fights something, that is clearly, and at last shouts out in defeat. "The Sanctus you knew, had you as a supporting pillar of hope and love. When that pillar fell, I fell to, or he I should say," Demonwise smirks and turns his back to the spirit. "Know it is only me, Errdeghar'bekea, the avenger, and as you served me as a pillar in life, so shall you in death!" he roars, and turns swiftly, stretching an arm out towards her. Green beams of energy surges towards the spirit, capturing it, hopefully, with the powers granted by a goddess. |
| Loveah Grinarium11-26-03, 12:27 AM | He was successful in his grab, her face twists to surprise, "Sanctus! What are you doing!" She struggles to break from his grasp. |
| Demonwise11-26-03, 01:40 AM | "I am taking what is rightfully mine!" he says, while finishing the last words to the spell. Another flash of green energy surges towards the bound spirit, and draws her toward him. If it suceedes, the spirit will be captured within him, everyone of her powers, becoming his. |
| Agudo Archmage11-30-03, 09:19 PM | NEXT POST PLEASE! |
| Agudo Archmage11-30-03, 09:48 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley They all landed in the forest, by his magic.... Agudo was looking the dark Drow in the eye still, when they landed. The Archmage of Light could have used magic......Yet being the feisty wizard that he is...... He smiled and then {Head-butted} the Drow in the face..... Agudo steps back for the fight, with his staff in hand, to block any on coming swords. |
| Khaira11-30-03, 10:29 PM | From so very high up above, a bird-like cry can be heard. A very LARGE bird-like cry! The shadow of some great bird-predator can be seen diving towards the trees! A whistling sound can be heard as an arrow thuds into the ground, then another, then another, and then 4 more. It makes a circle as a sword comes down and strikes the ground. It is a good sword, one of a pair. In fact, as Agudo can see....it is Khaira's!!! And then, a figure can be seen, flipping, somersaulting, going aroudn and aroudn branches, on her way down. Finally, on a low branch, this red haired elf does a backflip, landing ont he ground, a sword drawn. "Agudo....taking all the fun again?" She grins again - that overconfident smile that only a bard can smile - as she yanks her sword out of the ground. |
| ruthia12-01-03, 08:55 AM | Another of Agudo's friends looks on, watching from a slight distance, as at hoome in the forest as she is in the sky. Ruthia had came back to Agudo's school to check on her brother when she noticed the drow. Curiouse as always, Ruthia followed the fight, prepared to do anything if she's needed. But for right now she's more then happy to stay out of the way. Sitting in a tree over the where the group landed, she smiles as Khaira joins Agudo, knowing everything will be fine now. |
| Demonwise12-01-03, 09:57 AM | (Ooc: Sorrry for the fighting in your thread, but I did honestly invite you to battle on even terms, before Aravilar something started attacking me twice before I could react. Btw, that part I am reasonably going to ignore) The drow landed on the ground, and when Agudo slipped over for the headbutt, one was knocked to the ground. Drying blood of his forehead, the drow recovered and rose from the forestfloor. Litthual steps forward, uncharacteristically being honourable in the fight, and bows slightly to the mage. "Oh, the great of light cannot fight alone? Banish these scouts and companions, and lets fight evenly, just us two!" the drow says boldly, challenging the light mage. The other drow, especially the women, dont seem very fond of this proposal, but they stay still, eyeing Kaira and Agudo. |
| Khaira12-01-03, 10:08 AM | She looks to the supposed honorable drow, who seems to be giving Agudo a chance? "Agudo...it's a trick! I'm not going to try to tell you what to do, but I wouldn't take him on alone....let me be your avatar of light, Agudo! I will fight him!" She eyes what she assumes to be the head drow, her eyes flitting to the other drow at the same time. She goes into a defensive stance, her eyes taking on an odd, fierce glow that Agudo has only seen before, that look she got in her eyes in their very first adventure, together, when she fought the last Lich. But even this look in her eyes carries more power than Agudo has seen before. Some vast change .... or some old power awakened within her, perhaps. |
| Demonwise12-01-03, 10:13 AM | The drows head shoots forward, and it flies forward, pulled by an unseen or unseeing force, and lands on the ground on its knees. It lifts its head, and you can see the eyes of the drow glowing ember red. "You do well to remember who is behind this Agudo!! A drow would never fight you honestly, but your lost student would. You knew me! I was a man of honour, and though I may not be a man no more, I am still of honourrrrr.r..!" the drow roars, and then turns to normal, raising again. |
| Agudo Archmage12-01-03, 10:45 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley The Archmage of Light was pleased by Khaira loyalty and friendship in the moment of battle. Yet what happen next surprised Agudo when the Drow hit the ground and spoke in a familiar voice. “Sanctus?” He frowned as he considered what Sanctus said about honor. “It looks like Drow as if you are not in control of yourself. But why fight me? |
| Khaira12-02-03, 12:16 AM | 0Khaira quirks a brow at the drow's "popping" head (Pop goes the Drow!;) ), but doesn't seem suprised, having seen stranger things in her lifetime. She relaxes her blades, only sleightly however, as she whispers to Agudo out of the corner of her mouth. "Agudo, if you want to fight him one-on-one, go ahead...I'll interevene whenever you want...." |
| Demonwise12-02-03, 01:39 AM | The drow stans unmoving for a few seconds, but then the first shiver unnaturally. The shivers swiftly spreads into the others, as they also feel the magic powers nearing. Then the air is sucked away from the little area, quicker and quicker, in one large inhale of breath. At last it is but an empty void. "Doo yoou think I woould risk my own liife too help these droow?" a strange hissing voice says, as if born by the wind. "Litthuaal I can spaare, my liife is to preciouss. Not that dead woould stop me for loong!". The voice dissapates away, and the air once again enters the void, filling the lungs of many drow, which were seconds from suffocation. Litthual has grown nervous, for he have realized this opponent is stronger than his master described, but still he have the courage to step forward. "I against you!" he says, and with that as the only cue, the other drow jumps forward and circling around Khaira, merely holding her away from the battle, though their blades are poised close to her. "Surely she is a great fighter, heck, maybe she could take two or three of my fighters out before they killed her. But now, lets be realistic (to some degree ;)). Matron Dra'nin is already stripping her from her magic powers, as we speak. Fight me, and if you win, my warriors will dissipate. If you loose, we take you both!" |
| ruthia12-02-03, 08:32 AM | Watching quietly, she decides to let Agudo know she's here. o O(TP to Agudo ONLY> I'm here for you friend if you need me. At the very least I can help Khaira out with that group if she needs it. Fear not for her life.) She says a little pray to her god as she watches. |
| Khaira12-02-03, 09:27 AM | Khaira smiles one of THOSE smiles...the cocky, arrogant smile, full of insanity and adrenaline. "Why, hello gentleman!" she says, her eyes sparkling with exictement and energy "Surely you don't think you are enough told the greatest bard of all time!" She just grins though, and raises her blades, once again. A certain air of confidence and, perhaps, insanity, surrounds her. She looks to Agudo, watching for his final decision, for his final decision shall mark her next actions. |
| Agudo Archmage12-02-03, 09:33 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley Its not that Agudo cared for the evil Drow, its just the thought of them being used like a puppet that bothered him. Just then Ruthia spoke to him mentally, and he smiled retuning the thought to her. …oO..Its good to know I have a backup plan…Oo.. “Sanctus show your wayward prodigal son self!…… I will not fight these slaves for you. If you want me, then you have to be fool enough, to stand against me, on your own” He then closed his eyes for a second; being an Archmage he can cast multiple spells. In this case as much as it gauld him, he could not kill the Drow. An aura of misty white magic surrounded, the Drow near Khaira. Any magic users near by, could see it was the spell of (Imprisonment) If the spell works, then it just leaves the one Drow near Agudo, to communicate with Sanctus. If it doesn’t work then Agudo uses plan “B” RUN! |
| Demonwise12-02-03, 09:40 AM | (is it invidual prisons or a prison inprisoning all of them (khaira too). I need to know before my post, and when I know, I will edit this) |
| Khaira12-02-03, 09:50 AM | ((So ... how many drow are there, incapacitated or otherwise? I think I'm getting confuselated.)) |
| Demonwise12-02-03, 09:51 AM | (Litthual and seven others. Only litthual remained in front of agudo) |
| Agudo Archmage12-02-03, 09:53 AM | ((OOC its multi spell, soooo you can split it up, between all of them :D )) |
| Khaira12-02-03, 09:59 AM | ((Okay, and, Agudo/Demonwise/whomever it concerns - how many drow are actually held? All of the ones in front of Khaira? or only most of them? Still confuselated...sorry about my confuselation!)) |
| Demonwise12-02-03, 10:00 AM | The drow is suprised, yet not overly so, for they had been told who they were up against. The males fought viciously, to no visible avail, while the matron mother and two of her daughters fought through the spell with some effort. Their draining bonds on Khaira had been closed down, and it seemed as if they did not intend to open it again. (lets try and make a map, shall we? Since Agudo was the one to teleport, he must determin the surroundings :)) -------------------------------------- ------------------L-----------A------ -------------------------------------- --------------------------d--d------- ----------------------D-------------- ---------------------D-----K--------- ---------------------D--------------- ------------------------d--d--------- |

| Khaira12-02-03, 04:00 PM | (These following actions and words are assuming that the drow are attacking her. I may be misreading or still be confuselated, though. I like to do that.) Khaira puts her two blades together, in a kind of "X" shape, and then murmurs "Droghna". Her form becomes blurred (consider her as now wearing a "Cloak of Displacement"). At another command word, 3 lightning bolts come down to strike the drow surrounding her. And with that, she begins to fight, ferociously, her blades in a blur of motion and death. "Light shall overcome!" she screams, laughing at the same time as she ducks, dodges, and rolls out of the way of an oncoming blade. |
| Agudo Archmage12-02-03, 11:17 PM | ((OOC ME? Well DM your not as brave as Sanctus was when he was good....But let it not be said I didn’t give a helping hand. ;) )) The group is in the forest near where Sanctus Mediates, half the Drow near Khaira are left to fight. “You can fight this mind control Drow, don’t give into Sanctus” |
| Khaira12-03-03, 12:28 AM | ((I wasn't awake when I was typing that post, heh. Those actions were assuming the drow were attacking ME, Khaira, not her, Khaira. :) )) |
| Demonwise12-03-03, 08:16 AM | [Litthual] "No mind control, mortal! Sheer honour! I do this for the family of dra'nin!" he says, before jumping head first towards Agudo. An orb of darkness forms around the mage, and then, the blades come hurling down upon the mage. [Khaira and the three] Weary from breaking the archmage's spell, the lightning bolt strikes hard on the three female. The matron mother keeps standing, while the two other are blown to the ground. Then charges khaira, her sword and body in a blurr to the drow, and the matron begins backing away, while trying to find a suiting spell. Before she can cast anything, though, one of her daughters comes from behind Khaira, silent as the shadow of death, with a dagger poised in her hand. The dagger stabs downwards. |
| Khaira12-03-03, 09:37 AM | Khaira, not giving the female drow another chance, charges her, swords out, intending to impale her. She grimaces and yells in pain as the sagger is stabbed down into her shoulder blade. Barely she hangs onto her other sword, but her arm is now quite efficiently useless. With her remaining arm and sword, she attempts to impale the matron mother, at the same time, trying to kick the stabbing drow behind her "That was my good sword arm, fiend!" she roars. |
| ruthia12-03-03, 09:39 AM | ((*Pouts* Hey DM, you forgot to place me in that map. *Pouts some more.* Oh well :D )) Ruthia watches from the trees, concerned for her friends. But she knows they can handle it, and if not then she'll help. |

By the way (important information): Khaira faces <, Agudo faces <, Litthual faces >, And all drow faces Khaira. Every - counts for about a foot, so the distance between Agudo and litthual is about three feet (though the blades can still reach the mage with Litthual stretching arms, which he does) and the distance between Matron mother and Khaira is two feet, and the assassinating drow and Khaira is only one foot. It is also important that all know that: Litthual attacks Agudo, Matron steps backwards from Khairas blades, and the drow daughter is stabbing at Khaira with her cruel dagger, from the back. Just if my posts havent been clear :). EDIT: Too many importanties! |

| Agudo Archmage12-03-03, 01:34 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley The darkness was everywhere, it was sudden and unexpected. The Archmage of Light barely had time to brace himself, from the impact of the sword. The Drow hit him right on the head, knocking Agudo out of the darkness. The only thing that saved him was his magic hat. Litthual sword sliced nicely through the hat, but the magic within adsorbed most of the impact. But not all…. for Agudo head was bleeding, and the blood was running down his left eye. The Archmage of Light, was dazed, he had fallen backwards and now lay on the ground. Yet by luck or just a classic Agudo moment, the potions in his robe pocket broke. Smoke engulfed him, and then taking the opportunity Agudo rolled to his side. So that he could avoid another hit by the Drow. “The Light shall vanquish darkness, Drow!” Agudo yelled as he wiped the blood from his face. He pointed his Ring of Ram at Liithual, and a powerful burst of energy shot towards the Drow. (If it works the Drow should go flying backwards, as if kicked by a large horse. If not then Agudo has just shown him a shiny gaudy ring) |
| Demonwise12-03-03, 04:07 PM | The drow feels the burst in his guts, swinging the slender and lethal elf into the air, in its moment of sucess. The ring's blast fires the drow into a tree, where he knocks his head towards a branch and falls to the ground, in a cloud of smoke. The dark elf shakes its head once, then again, and rises slowly, its legs barely supporting. (your turn, it is taken some seconds for the drow to rise, so its an opportunity ;)) |
| Agudo Archmage12-04-03, 09:20 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley The Archmage of Light pressed his advantage, through his blood soaked face. He used his boots of dexterity, and does a few fast moves avoiding any, darts by the Drow partners. “Now you shall face judgment, dark one!” He casts Shocking Hands, and magically leaps to Litthual. By doing so he closes the gap quickly. Agudo grabs the Drow by the right arm, for the electrical shock. Just then Agudo sees his mistake, he hadn’t grabbed both arms, leaving him open for the enemies sword. |
| Demonwise12-04-03, 10:42 AM | The drow falls back, and begins to shake furiously, with the electric shock. He tries to slam his sword into Agudos flank, but his vision is blinded by the energy surging through him. The sword falls out of his hand, and the shaking begins to wear off. The drow eyes splatter and the blood and fluid runs down the black face, while a foul stench of rotten flesh begins to spread. Then, as danger seems to be over, the body of the drow explodes fully, the ribcage opening up in a explosion of blood and guts, and the other members of his body also blowing up in a mess of blood and bone-splints. It is a powerful death-trap, with the strenght and power of a fireball. |
| Agudo Archmage12-04-03, 10:43 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley When the Drow started to implode, the Archmage of Light was hit with guts and blood. Covering his body, but then the fragments of bone hit as well. Agudo was thrown back ten feet, landing sideways…..not moving. |
| kulideb12-05-03, 04:59 AM | Kulideb had grown concered for her friend so she set off to find him. At first nothing seemed out of place but as she drew closer to the glade, the natural noise of the woods grew quiet and in its place she could hear the sounds of a fight. She began to run through the woods setting an arrow on her bow. As she came closer to Sanctus home, she stopped short and looked around. She could see the Archmage on the floor covered in gore and not moving. Khaira was fighting a female drow with her sword while another drow was trying to attack her from behind. She aimed her bow and let the arrow fly at the drow attacking Khairas back, as soon as the arrow had left her bow Kulideb had another ready to take its place. ((hope this is OK.:) )) |
| Demonwise12-05-03, 07:54 AM | ((Its a bit on the edge since the drow started stabbing motion a minute before Agudo was on ground.... Technically. I will await Khairas respond, she will decide)) |
| Khaira12-07-03, 01:38 PM | ((Eh? What am I deciding?)) |
| Demonwise12-07-03, 02:35 PM | ((if the drow stabbing at your back gets hit by an arrow, and if so, what happens to her, and if not, what then happens)) |
| Khaira12-08-03, 04:10 PM | A chain reaction happens with Khaira, the assassinating drow, and Kulideb. The drow sinks her knife into Khaira's shoulder, causing her to drop one of her blades ,and at the same time the arrow strikes the drow in the side. Though she lets out a roar of pain, the drow seems to still be ready to fight. This time, though, she turns around, looking for the archer. Meanwhile, Khaira is charging full speed at the remaining female drow, with her remaining sword out and extended... She looks over to Agudo's unmoving body, concerned. "dammit, Agudo, GET UP!" |
| Demonwise12-09-03, 09:06 AM | ((Are you charging at the stabbing drow, or the matron mother? Please see the map, and update your movements to it, if possible)) |
| Khaira12-09-03, 09:53 AM | ((In the process of charging the Matron mother, 2 feet in front of her.)) |
| Demonwise12-09-03, 10:00 AM | ((Okay!)) The matron had recovered from the lightning blast, in the moments Khaira had turned away. Now she stood with her snake whip confidently in her hand, and as Khaira charges, she snaps it out, trying to steal Khaira's weapon from Khaira's grasp. From the corner of her eye, Khaira is able to see Agudo being thrown into the air by an explosion and landing (seemingly) unconscious on the forest floor. |
| kulideb12-10-03, 09:23 AM | The elf let another arrow fly at the female drow attacking Kahira. ((aimed at the matron mother.)) |
| Khaira12-16-03, 10:07 AM | Khaira's quick eye sees the whip coming for her,and quicker than the blink of an eye, she rolls to the side and begins to run at the matron mother again, slowd, but still coming. "Amin khiluva lle a' gurtha ar' thar" *(("I will follow you to death and beyond!")) |
| Demonwise12-19-03, 05:29 AM | "That's a promise I can make you hold!" the matron mother roars out towards Khaira. The matron flips her wrist and throws her head backwards. In front of Khaira reality begins to ripple and stir, and suddenly a clawed hand grabs out after her. The mutilated body of an undead golem enters from the waist and starts trying to get hold of the bard. Meanwhile, the drow daughter has seen Kulideb, and now runs towards her with her whip slashing. |
| kulideb12-19-03, 02:12 PM | Kulideb allows another arrow to fly this time at the drow coming towards her. She then puts her bow on her back and pulls out her sword ready to meet with the charging drow elf. |
| Khaira12-19-03, 08:26 PM | Not being able to stop and going full speed forward, charging at the matron mother, she is unable to stop and is grabbed by the claws of the golem. Roaring she begins to stab the clawed hand...if that doesn't work, she utters a command word, a lightning bolt striking at the hand. |
| Demonwise12-20-03, 04:31 AM | [Kulideb]The drow dodges the arrow, and then comes in with her whip slashing at your sword wielding arm. [Khaira]The stabs have no effect, for the wrist is too thick for you to cut it over in whole. The other hand grabs for your neck while your lightning bolt strikes. The first hand retracts when the lightning hits, but that only pulls you towards the portal. If the golem gets hold of your neck, it starts pulling with that hand too. |
| kulideb12-21-03, 06:44 AM | kulideb braced her self for the first attack. She began to call to the shadows spinning them into a shield. As the whip lashed out Kulideb struck out at it with her sword. |
| Khaira12-22-03, 10:44 PM | Khaira struggles as she attempts to escape the clutches of the golem, yelling all the while. She begins to go psycho, her blades striking against the golem in hopes that it will let her go. All, however, seems in vain for the golem's skin is so tough. |
