| scottmale2411-08-07, 01:09 AM | Hey there, Theoretical Optimization people, I could use a little help. What kind of infinite, near-infinite, and not-infinite-but-still-ridiculous loops can be made using only the core books (including MM 1-3), the Complete series, and the XPH? I'm flipping through this (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=587555) list right now, and although hilarious and amazing, it uses many books I can't. Thanks. |
| Callix11-08-07, 01:42 AM | The up-to-date version is here. It's all kinda fun, isn't it? The Electroshock Therapy trick can be done with Core+XPH. Pick up Metamorphic Transfer and take Shambling Mound form, grab its Electricity Immunity, then let someone with no strength bonus poke you with a Diminuitive Shocking Dagger (1+1d6 elec) for near-limitless Con. The Candle of Invocation/Efreeti loop is core-only, and Mr Roboto (Effigy template stacking) is Core + Completes, although many of the templates are more exotic. Bobs the Many can be run using only XPH + CArc, although he gets better as more books get added. The Hurler needs CWar, but some of the forms and templates need other sources. He's still mind-numbingly good in Core + Completes. Nanobots need CAdv, and CArc helps. Economy abuse works with both Wall of Iron and True Creation. The Explosive Rune Cruise Missile works in Core, and adds something else with Arcane Archer by putting a Dispel Magic on the arrow and choosing to fail the dispel check. Now the bomb always goes off. That's most of the Smashers and Semi-Smashers in those books. |

That's either Core + CAdv + CWar or Core + CArc. |
