First of all... HI everyone! This is my first thread in this forum.

I'm starting a new 3.0 D&D campaign at lvl 7 this Saturday. I'm playing a 5Nec/2RedWiz character and I was concern about what can and cannot use because I didn't want the game to become broken.

My DM didn't care so much and knowing I'm not an expert player said to me: You cannot brake a game with a lvl7 wizard. And he allow me to use everything of 3.0 edition. I'm very competitive and now is on!!

I want to create the most broken arcane build EVER! just to prove him wrong.

I have goggled for a while and came up with some major tips that helped me to choose some feats and and gain a +6 in dc for necromancy spells. (Tattoo focus, Spell focus, Grater spell focus)

But I don't want to stop there... I like to know every nasty combo that exist, every trick and if you want to suggest some spell selection please do so.:D

thanks...

- Be Lawful Good.
- Have a viper familiar.
- Max out Knowledge [The Planes] skill (Marshal Cohort, Skill Focus, Magic, anything). You must have it at +30 by level 6.
- Call Pazuzu.
- Wish for money. Buy as many Candles of Evocation as you can.
- Summon a Noble Djinn.
- Wish for a way to become a "scaled one" (a kobold, maybe) and the Manipulate Form ability.
And you should change your name. Pun-Pun would fit. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=491801)

Thanks for the responses.

kabof:

I cannot change my alignment or my prestige because I have already said I would be a wiz5/red wiz2. I cannot change that but I have to make the caster progression. This means I have to chose all the feats and skills till level 7. And of course the spells too.
But I'm a chaotic neutral human and thats all I can be:(

Tleilaxu_Ghola:

I already have thought in learning polymorph since it is known is too good for its level. I just don't realize yet how to use it. It has to abusive!
Besides there are two polymorph spells ( polymorph self and other ) which one you think it is best? And in what would you polymorph into?

Whew... well, first off I play only in D&D 3.5, so I'm not exactly qualified to make the distinction between self and other versions. I'd say that most of your polymorphing will be best used on others.

Here's how: summon monster. You can summon outsiders with summon monster 3 or 4. Just start rifling through the MM for good monsters of HD <= the number of HD you can summon. Also consider that you can summon animals... they usually have a lot of HD. Now turn 'em into 7 HD dragons.

You get the idea?

(P.S extend would be a fantastic thing to have on your summon monster spells...)

If the DM isn't using Eratta... how about turning into a Solar? :D The original 3.0 Polymorph was not limited by hit dice.

jaja... This spell is so broken! I didn't know well the specifications of a Solar so I just read it. There are so good I almost feel sorry!

The idea of turning a summoned into a solar is great but having read the monster manual I'm thinking in polymorph myself! I cannot find any drawback!

Thank you guys! Now... What else??:D :D

P.D. : Just in case my dm is using the errata ( I haven't read it:P) what is the limitation on hd?

Max HD = your HD

Max HD = your HD

That sucks! considering that I only have 2 7 lvl spell slots, if I want to polymorph summoned creatures and I'll have to spend one slot in summon monster, that only leave me with 1 7hd creatures!

Besides a 7hd dragon ( very young) has lower attributes that most of the 7hd creatures I can summon

I think the spell is not that broken after all. :(

I think the spell is not that broken after all. :(With the Errata, it is managable. But don't use it on your summoned creatures. That's a waste of spellslots, as you've noticed. Use it to turn yourself and your entire party into more powerful forms, permanently. (Don't forget your familiar. :D ) That way, it's basically a "free" power up. Annis Hag is a good 7 HD form in 3.5. I can't remember how good it was in 3.0.

Ok, I'll do that, but I looked for the Annis Hag and I only gain in strength and AC (which is very good since I have a very crappy AC). But it has to be something better having ALL the 3.0 books available.

I just have to find it!:P

3.0?!
3.0 Haste was basically a free Quicken on all the spells you'll ever care to cast. What else do you need to make everybody at the table wish they were the Wizard instead??

BTW: Necromancer? In 3.0? That makes no sense at all!

Yes! haste lets you cast two spells per round instead of one and was definitively in my spell list.

The we played on Saturday night as I have said and we did very well. The spells more used were haste and polymorph and although I couldn't make my dm cry, after having polymorphed all the players and sucking 20 str point to one creature, he admitted that wizard are a bit unbalanced in 3.0.

I don't realize why a necromancer isn't a good choice in 3.0. Perhaps you could tell me.

I still want my character to become a very very powerful wizard so I will open a new thread in character optimization. this way I can get help improving my character all the way to level 20.

Thanks everyone for the tips and I'll post the new thread link in case anyone wants to continuing helping me developing this build.

c ya:)
