So, I'm playing in a game where the souls of our departed bodies have been linked to other's bodies all over our world, and when one of our characters dies we come back into the game with all of our previous levels*1/3. So right now when I die I come in with (at an effective level of 0):

+5 BAB
+8 Fort Save
+0 Ref.
+0 Will

(Yeah, reflex and will suck, but my primary role has been tank.)
I also have:

2 Fighter Bonus Feats
Fast Movement
Rage 1/day
Sneak Attack, 1d6
Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Bastard Sword)
Two Weapon Fighting (Only w/ Bastard Sword and Short Sword)
Light, Medium, Heavy Armor Prof.
Simple Martial Weapon Prof.
Shield Prof. (not tower)
5 Skill points, non-class restricted
1 Bonus Attribute Point

(** this is all from 2 Levels of Fighter, 2 Samurai, 1 Barbarian, 1 Ronin**)

I'm looking at building another character when this one dies, and I want him to be another melee heavy tank type, but I also would like to start building up some Caster Levels so that when I come in again I can mysteriously cast spells.

If I die I also get to keep my old equipment and I would like to incorporate that as much as possible into a new build.

I have:

+3 Mithral Full Plate, Glamered, Move Silent, Spiked
+1 Bastard Sword
+2 Short Sword
Ring of Protection (+1)
Cloak of Resistance (1)
Belt of Giant Strength (+4)
Gloves of Dexterity (+4)
Hewards Handy Haversack

I would be able to come in as a level 6 with 15000 gold when I revived.

I rolled some random 3d6 stats to give you an idea what to work with (You can move one stat number, once)

Str: 13
Dex: 8
Con: 14
Int: 12
Wis: 10
Cha: 10

I was hoping to come in as a Psion or a Dragon and see how that works, hit me up with some thoughts on the build. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Maybe I should also mention that all playable experience has to be earned....

I may start at level 6. But if I want the effective base level of it then from 6 I'll have to get to 9, or 6 to seven, three times... please don't assume I didn't think about jumping off a cliff as twenty different people twenty different times....

Well , looks like some interesting house rules you've got.
And this kind of thread usually gets more attention on the "C" O board.

If you want to play a Psion , most of your bonus stuff covers a Psion's weakness.
But I'd absolutely switch Int and Con.
You can't manifest 3rd level powers with an Int below 13.
Con would provide Fort save , you need no help there , and hit points , but you can take Vigor.

Head over to the Psionics board and look around.
Psion 5 / Slayer 10 will work with no problems.

Good gaming :)

Well, you're kinda doomed if you don't have 15 INT bare minimum at 1st level. You'll be limited in your maximum power level manifested and be rather bad all around. Get a +2 INT race, I prefer the Gray Elf.
