| alchemyprime08-30-07, 12:10 AM | I was thinking of using d20 Modern and Star Wars d20's VP and WP system to recreate the Nightspawn/Nightbane Palladium RPG into d20. (I bought it as Nightspawn.) Any ideas? I want to make a Nightspawn race so that every few levels they get better. Maybe make them LA+1... ANy ideas from those nerds/nostagiacs that remember it? |

| BigBobSr600009-21-07, 05:28 PM | I have the Nightbane books. d20 Modern conversion. IQ = Intelligence ME = Wisdom MA = Charisma PS = Strength PP = Dexterity PE = Constitution PB = Physical Appearance SPD = Speed SDC + HP = Hit points PPE = Psion Points ISP = Chi Points. Divide Percents by 5 rounded down to get d20 equivalent. EX: 84%/5 = 16.8 rounded down = 16. If someone has 84% in a skill would = 16 total in skill in a d20 system. So, they would roll 1d20 + 16 against a DC of that skill. |

| BigBobSr600009-25-07, 12:09 AM | I was thinking of making it so that the rules could be transferred over easily... and how a nightspawn race would work... any help there? In answer to your previous post I have not found any conversion rules to a d20 system. I just convert all the stuff with what I posted earlier and just wing the rest. Below are some tips. In Nightspawn there is the Facade (usually human, but could be any race like dwarf or elf, etc..). Then there is the Morphus form the true form as it were. Best way is to have your players use 2 separate character sheets. One for the Facade and one for the Morphus as the stats, abilities, and skills will change. Still roll up your character as normal d20 Modern stats. Adjusting stats by adding any abilities that the Façade has like nightvision (darkvision) 200 ft. On Morphus sheet, put the stats for it with the pluses, additional abilities, etc. Keep in mind the Morphus abilities are usually supernatural. Treat The Becoming like Lycanthrope. A human that becomes a Werewolf is really not much different than a Nightspawn. Human = Facade, Werewolf=Morphus. Only in Nightspawn setting, the transformation can be as weird and bizarre as you dare it to be. I had one player who changing involved a fireball engulfing him has he grew to a large crab with mechanical treads for legs, crab body, lobster claws, and a bears head that was a flaming skull. Once formed (full 1 minute) the fireball went out. His first change was at a High School Dance. If the book states +10 to P.S. that would be +10 to Str (as in my earlier post). Number of attacks per melee = number of attacks per round. Just use some common sense, a little work and you can do it. If you need help ask me some specific questions and I will try to answer them, if I can. Good gaming…Big Bob…. |
