| Cashmere Alpaca Dorugon09-22-03, 01:32 PM | The musty and stank caverns of the Cathedral of Nubis in Triscape made Cashmere shiver despite her paladin training. This place was truly creepy. The dark grey robed woman’s steps were eerily rhythmic as they decended the stairs deeper into the chasim of darkness soley lit by a pinprick of light on a candle she held. Her voice echoed off the stonework, “This tomb has room for countless generations of high priestesses… though we have needed only a fraction of that… there may be only 200 priestesses down here.” Cashmere simply nodded, she wanted to get this over with, the whole place seemed to scream go away to her. Yet she forced herself to follow the kind priestess before her. It seemed like hours going down but finally they made it to the bottom of the case. The spider webs ran thick down here. It was much dryer but it still reeked of danger. The preisetess led cashmere past many empty above ground graves, around some corners and she finaly set her candle stick staff into a holster which opened up a passageway in the wall. Inside was a solitary grave enjewled with amethyst and obsidian stonework, dormant sparks lit a few candles around the alter. Cash looked to the priestess as she handed the braclet to Cashmere. The woman in grey turned to look at the young squire, she spoke with scerenity, “perhaps I should leave you two to your words… Cashmere would have none of it, “no! don’t leave me alone with a corpse” The priestess looked to her, “when you brought her here, you weren’t sure if she was even dead yet… we had to pull your hands off of her… it seems you have begun to accept reality… this is good, not bad… I will leave you two to your words…” Cash looked back at the grave which held an emboss of a woman’s likeness, the engraveings along the sides read, “to the love of my life, and the next. I will always love thee, Cashmere.” Cash’s fingertips felt the text and she fell to her knees stareing at them, her lips whispered out, “this… this is Maxine…” The sudden rush of emotions of being alone and abandoned brought fresh emotions to her mind again. Chills ran down her spine as she held her hands to her head, her mind reeling about how she had come to love someone during this haze of memory and she couldn’t even remember it. Cash then felt a warm but damp hand on her shoulder, the motherly voice of Nubis touched her ears, “now you understand… my child…” Cash looked up to see her water dripping mother, she continued, “you see now… it is better that at least she met you… that you have good memories to hold close to your heart… that you have a mother that loves you so very much.” Nubis came down to cash’s kneel, “I know so many motherless children out there. They cry because they have nobody to love them, nobody that cares. They go hungry every night… they pray to me because I have changed my ways because of what Maxine has taught me… how she believed in me as a releacer.. a provider… a giver of food, and life… why can’t you take her lessons to heart and move on? She has done her role… The time for mourning has passed… I pray… that you will take my words to heart. I knew that loosing your memory would be the only way that you could take a step back and look rationally at this. I pray that you will see this lesson as just that and only that… I know you will make good choices my daughter…” Cash looked quietly at her mother goddess for a long moment, sorting out the feelings of confusion and disappointment, care and hate, but utter confusion dominateing over them all. Nubis produced her sphere of worship, she spoke calmly and authoritively as she held out the torrencial storm in a glass sphere, “Princess Cashmere Lyhnn Alpaca Dorugon of Odoll, I releace and absolve you of your sins whilst you were in unlife, in the name of Alpha who’se divine balance is the only judge of a person. May her words, through me, be on your lips. May she guide you in all that you do.” Cashmere quietly accepted the blessing feeling the rush of memories flood back into her mind like a tidal wave, laughter and running of fields paralleled with the screams of elven maidens that were the unfortunate victims, friends, loves, and above all Velin who sealed her possible love of men away forever. Cash’s expression changed from confused ignorance back to her usual innocent expression, she looked at the coffin……….. |
