Khaira 01-12-05, 09:49 PM	Those that have been paying attention to the Flute and Boot Inn (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=116795) the past couple of pages know what I'm talking about, and what adventure I shall be referring to. For those that don't, however, allow me to offer synopsis. Dante, in his past, has been tortured and deformed by varied devious magical and mundane experiments, administered by the Red Wizards of Thay. A dark secret was also implanted deep within Dante's deformities as well. Before these were to be used, however, Dante was sprung from his torturous imprisonment by a barbaric, though liberty-loving, tribe. Since then, Dante has run from Thay but now, he has been tracked and a group of Red Wizards combined with were-creatures have captured him down and are bringing him back to Thay. For more detailed storyline information, refer to the last couple pages of the Flute and Boot Inn. In any case, all who are interested in joining, post here. If you would like to be a baddie, you shall need to contact my Sub DM, who shall reveal himself soon enough. However, if you would like to help rescue Dante Ambrose, post here!
masonicword 01-13-05, 01:59 PM	Joseph will most gladly head out to help, after all its the Templar way. He will do everything he can to bring down this monster he is currently fighting and try and rally the troops to the cause. As a reference I do want to make a distinction you may wish to know about. A Knight Templar is not a paladin, nor is a Knight Templar a monk... historically you could say they were the best of both. The Templar were the elite of the elite. They were one of the most powerful armies ever to be assembled during medieval times. They were very wealthy, landowners and usually with very well known family lines. Templar were quite rare to see (excepting of course for the crusades). For the purposes of DnD.. Knight Templar have some traits of the Paladin (Lay on Hands, bless, shield of faith, etc) but the spells are either not quite as powerful as a paladin's or don't last as long. They have also some of the monks qualities such as a little quicker movement, better body control (like balance, etc) and can wear heavy armor (although full plate is probably their least favorite of all armor)... half plate is always preferred. Most Templar are artisans and craftsmen (and women).. Templar do have a code of honor however not quite as restrictive as a Paladin's in the terms of a Templar will do whatever is necessary to mobilize, halt or bring down an enemy (short of backstabbing). Templar will do their best of toeing the line of the law.. but laws which are unjust or clearly evil (such as slavery, etc) they will do whatever necessary to undermine such injustices. Templar are trained to take on as many as 30 to 1 odds if necessary (and win) however they never forget that mercy, love, kindness, and honor must always be protected and given whenever possible. Like a Paladin, they cannot show fear (and will not fear) at any time but also will use prudence at all times and never enter a hopeless battle unless there is no other choice. Templar have very powerful enemies as well: The Church (usually strong lawful churches) respect their power but see them as a danger because the Templar respect all (good) religions but give no fealty to any one in particular. Being Freethinkers make many religious types very uncomfortable around the Templar. Some churches secretly wish to undermine the Templar! The Saracens (or whatever passes for them in DnD) consider them worthy foes but wish to end their existence (in the case of DnD it is usually a very militarily powerful evil kingdom or kingdoms). Templar are expected to wander the world and give assitance when necessary but always to be ready to be called on some great crusade. I hope this helps understand Joseph's mindset and abilities, etc.. :) Well back to the Flute and Boot... then onward...

So she went ahead and gave me the choice of just dropping her character or me playing for her until she comes back. This is a very hard decision for me, because right now I'm involved in other threads. And pcing other people that don't have the time. Anyone would like to help me on this one, or perhaps volunteer? Additionally, my activity in these next couple of weeks may be somewhat limited due to the fact that my final exams are coming up.
