Neat. What software are you using?
Leenaria The Pixie

I am using Poser 5 :D It takes some getting use to, the program, but once you know what your doing making characters takes 2-6 hours, depending on what you are doing with it.

Wow, very nice! how many polygons?
You've been doing this for long?
Leenaria The Pixie

01-20-04, 04:55 PM
Thanks Agudo! You know who I am ;)

ThePreacher, I am not sure of how many polygons it has but this is my first finished character ever done! :D I'm so proud of it!!!

I plan on doing one for my new character for the Flute and Boot Inn... her name is Cora and she's pregnant! :D I wonder how that will turn out?

Leenaria! That's a fabulous job you've done on Cora! I do believe Agudo is right! We've got another wonderful artist here in our midst! :)

I'm not very familiar with Poser, heard it was a tricky program to get around! (Well, all 3D programs are tricky in their own right I suppose). . . I've done some work in 3D Studios, Max, and Maya. . . Never had a chance to try Poser though.

But you must know what you're doing - that's a really great looking character model! Great effect on the cloak! Now I'm all curious about a close up on the face and the eyes! :) Hee hee.

Thanks for sharing it with us. . . I hope we can see more.

Thanks Kheldar! ;) I am working on the face shot and still have the hand left to work on. I will definitely work on more characters and when I get better I may offer to do a few for people here on the boards! :D

You're very welcome!

I'd be happy to see more characters. . . and familiar faces would be fun to look at as well!

:) Well, right now I am also working on my other character, who is 5 months pregnant. Let me tell you.. that is a challenge right there!

Poser is a bit tricky, you have to get things just right or else the whole thing screws up! I've had to restart on Cora (the pg woman) like 10 times already! *sighs* But its still fun! :D I don't know about other 3D programs but in Poser there isn't an Undo button for half of the stuff, so its like you better know what you are doing or else start all over. Fortunately with Willow I only had to redo her like 5 times, and the eyes were just awesome to do!

Familiar faces such as?
Kheldar Devaentar

01-22-04, 07:16 PM
KHELDAR! lol. But I might have a bias!

Yikes! no undo button?!? I think I'd die! . . Right now I use Maya, which lets ya undo about 50 steps - and even then I sometimes wish I could go back more!

Well now I'm all the more impressed! :) Holly smokes! Really makes saving a lot worth while I bet!

Hmm.. I wouldn't mind taking a shot at making Kheldar :) Yeah, saving becomes a lot more important and it really does sucks about the Undo Button... hehe.. anyway, let me see if I can get a close up of Willow I can post real quick ;)

And with that in mind I'll hush up and stop jumping in the way. Again, great work! :)

Okay.. here is the face! Yes, the eyebrows are suppose to look like that, and I did take off the cloak and hood for this picture. I wanted you to see the full effect of her.

Very nice. . .

Gives you a better appreciation for the detail worked into it! But now I'm afraid I'm going to have nightmares of women with eyes that pierce into my very soul! - cool (and creepy) effect though. :)

Gord

I'll be safe as long as I wear my protective glasses! intriguing character!

Thank you! I was hoping to have an effect like that from her eyes, I didn't want them to be a plain white, but a glowing white that could make the strongest of men back up with hesitation and the very sight of her! :D

Yes, she is intriguing and even more so as she still has a lot left to uncover about herself! *hehe*

Well, whenever you want send me a description of your character and his attire and I'll see what I can do for you! :)

WOW!
I must tell you I'm impressed. The facial close up is very good. One couldn't tell that while looking at the first picture.
Anywayz, the face really looks good, you've managed to give your character a unique look. However if you let me I shall make only one comment - The texture of the skin needs more work, it's too plain and there's very little depth in your character. But I'm sure you'll be on it very soon.
So - Wow again and a very good pic.
Leenaria The Pixie

01-24-04, 03:31 PM
Yes, I agree, the texture does need more work, though I must admit I am not the one who did that texture. I downloaded it from someone else who did. I am not all that great making skin textures and thats about the only good one though I think I might change it to another one and see what you think of it instead.

Whew. . . My apologies for taking so long to get back to you Leenaria.

If you would like to try modeling my wascially wogue I can give you some source material to work from. Please remember that I don't expect this. . . But I have to admit a burning curiosity for what he would look like.

Here's some picture's of Kheldar:

Kheldar explaining how to use an abacus. (http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/abacuspicture.gif)
Kheldar's actual costume design has changed since this picture. . . but it's a good expression on his face. :)

Kheldar and Rocky attacking a Golem. (http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/golemattack.jpg)
Only shows the back of Kheldar. . . To make himself look bigger, Kheldar wears spiked shoulder pads of sorts.

Kheldar inside a cave. (http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/kheldarcave.jpg)
This picture shows Kheldar's front side. At this time I was still playing a bit with his costume and the top of his boot is a different color now. It's supposed to be the color of his belt.

Parody Kheldar pointing at a chart. (http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/kheldarhatmap.jpg)
This is an accurate depiction of Kheldar's current costume. . . Well, except for the fact that he's "Fun sized" here. The silver decorations on his shirt are sometimes not drawn for simplicity, it can be up to you whether you include them or not.

A picture from another adventure Kheldar is currently in.

Hmmm, that's all that I seem to have up at the moment. . . I hope these pictures help. . . If you'd rather work off a written description, please let me know and I'll put one up! :)

Okay, thanks for those pics, those will really help! I may have to do some downloading to get certain items and I'm not sure how long that will be. So, I will keep in touch and let you know how I'm doing!

Thank you very much! :)

*Edit*
And of course, you're welcome to as much artistic interpretation as you like! If you think something would look better done differently, or would just like to try something differently, go for it! :)
