First, a little bit of an explanation about Constantinople, the nation-city in which this story'll take place. Constantinople is huge. So huge that I couldn't possibly imagine every last bit that exists within it. So this leaves you with a fair amount of creative freedom with regards to your characters. The population is human in origin, but may have many variations and mutations within it, so you could theoretically recreate a drow-like race if you wanted. Some terms that are common knowledge in this world: -Undergod: People who monopolize one or more aspects of their world are commonly referred to as Undergods. Ganna Brenk is an undergod because he monopolizes the technology behind the creation of crimsonfall. -Crimsonfall- Crimsonfall is formerly radioactive matter that is forcibly stabalized through counter measures introduced by a physicist, the Undergod Ganna Brenk. It can then be transmuted into any substance known to man, and even some new ones. Due to the lack of arable land for farming, and long-depleted fossil fuels, society has begun to rely on crimsonfall for nutrition and energy needs. Crimsonfall, the quality thereof and abundance, therefore drives the world-wide economy. -Undergod: A person or group of people who monopolize one or more aspects of their world are commonly referred to as Undergods. Ganna Brenk is an undergod because he monopolizes the technology behind the creation of crimsonfall. -Government of Constantinople: The city-nation is governed by corporations, many of which might change hands, fall, or rise as a natural process. They fued over control over crimsonfall. It was once governed by a dictatorship, which was quickly broken down after the Arcahd disaster -Outside Constantinople: It's an savage wasteland for the most part. There is some life, mostly bands of intelligent mutants and emergent animal species that have adjusted to the post-apocalyptic conditions. -Arcahd: A landmass that is west of, and across the ocean to, Constantinople. Most life on the continent was destroyed by nuclear attacks propagated by the former dictatorship of Constantinople. It is now populated by roving societies of robotic creations that the people of Arcahd left behind. -Red Trench: A massive oceanic current leading from the shorts of Constantinople and leading to the south of Arcahd. Groups traveling the trench use advanced submarine vehicles to go to and fro this passage. -The subcontinent of Crimsonfall: Named for the abundance of crimsonfall deposits scattered across it's rugged terrain, this is the battlefield for the corporations of Constantinople. It's just south of the continent of Arcahd, and a conveniently close detour from the Red Trench. -The Yellow Brick Road- basically the internet/holonet. People across Constanti hook up to it via cybernetic hookups that connect to their nervous system (not quite as crude as the matrix, think of the connection as being on a more seamless, molecular level). Some people prefer, quite understandably, to use a console to access the Road rather than these kinda iffy hook-ups. Alright, lets do something a bit different for the sign-up process. You can begin here by writing a message left on your character's datapad, doorstep, mail-box, or however-the-heck-they-take-their-messages. As for the message, it'll be kind of vague, but is aimed at getting that specific character's attention. Basically it regards an interesting business opportunity (but not so spammy/scammy sounding...). Whatever you think would interest your character, just have the message say that. It'll likely be different for the different characters that are contacted. Lemme know if there are any questions.
