| TheRealOrion03-19-07, 11:03 PM | Hi, I'm working on an expansion-pack version of Deeds Not Words that we've called "Phoenix," to differentiate it from the stand-alone version of the game. I have a rough beta version that is ready for play-testing. As a general overview, the system provides a dozen superhero classes, a crap-load of new feats (about 30 pages or so), and another crap-load of superpowers (about 40 pages). The idea is that this game runs directly on top of d20 Modern. It's not a stand-alone game, but it's designed so that you need only the SRDs to run it. The superpowers run off of a simple power-point system, because it's way easier than trying to balance them all a la feats or class features, and the whole game is based on a point-buy system so that you can, for example, sacrifice ability scores for a crap-load of powers, or vice-versa. We also have "Advantages and Complications" which are the same idea as Edges & Flaws in Shadowrun. If anyone's interested, please PM with with an email address to which I can send a pdf copy. Read it, play it, min/max the living crap out of it, and send me your thoughts. I'm not linking to the file because (a) I don't have any server space, and (2) the game is a rough draft, so I'd rather keep the circulation fairly low at this point. I don't want people getting the wrong impression about the whole project based on an early draft. Thanks! -Orion Ussner Kidder The Phoenix Project RPG |
